How to change tab background on viewpagerindicator tabs?

I am using ViewpagerIndicator library by Jake Wharton. I am using the tabs code in conjunction with the ActionBarSherlock library. Everything works fine, but I'm trying to style the background of the tabs and can't figure out how. I would like a dark action bar with dark tabs and light fragments (tab content). The base theme I am using is Theme.Sherlock.Light.DarkActionBar. I extend this style by making it the parent of a style that sets attributes for the tabs (like text color, indicator color, etc). This results in dark actionbar, light tabs, and light fragments. I can't find anything that will change the background of the tabs themselves. The only way I can change it is by changing the whole app to dark (using Theme.Sherlock). Google Maps and jQuery Tabs

Here we’ll look at a unique way to use them to edit the text on any webpage. How to edit text in a webpage IE8’s developer tools make it easy to make changes to a webpage and view them directly. Simply browse to the webpage of your choice, and press the F12 key on your keyboard. Alternately, you can click the Tools button, and select Developer tools from the list. This opens the developer tools. To do our editing, we want to select the mouse button on the toolbar “Select Element by Click” tool. Now, click on any spot of the webpage in IE8 that you want to edit. Here, let’s edit the footer of Google.com. Notice it places a blue box around any element you hover over to make it easy to choose exactly what you want to edit. In the developer tools window, the element you selected before is now highlighted. Click the plus button beside that entry if the text you want to edit is not visible. Now, click the text you wish to change, and enter what you wish in the box. For fun, we changed the copyright to say “©2010 Microsoft”. Go back to IE to see the changes on the page! You can also change a link on a page this way: Or you can even change the text on a button: Here’s our edited Google.com: This may be fun for playing a trick on someone or simply for a funny screenshot, but it can be very useful, too. You could test how changes in fontsize would change how a website looks, or see how a button would look with a different label. It can also be useful when taking screenshots. explorer.exe eating all CPU, how to to detect culprit?

Windows 7 64bit. I am using ProcessExplorer from Sysinternals, and it says, that the offending call is ntdll.dll!RtlValidateHeap+0x170 however, the call stack towards the entry is always different, so it's hard for me to track the problem. Maybe it's a mal-programed trojan, causing exceptions in Explorer.exe, but that is only a wild speculation. Explorer.exe is then consuming 25% (a core on a dual core). Killing the process makes the task bar go away, respawning from task manager, and half a minute later it's again eating all CPU cycles.

Cannot browse network shares in Windows Explorer, but paths are still accessible

Windows Explorer has somehow corrupted itself and I'm not sure how to fix this problem. My Windows installation has been in use for a few years with network shares setup and working. Recently, I noticed that a program that I use to save network share paths to a database was no longer opening the explorer window to browse the path. It usually opens to the last path saved, but now it was just not opening at all. When I go to Windows Explorer to browse the network share directly, I get the error \\SERVER is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The specified network provider name is invalid. The network shares are just shares on the server itself (once saved to the database, they're used on the server as well as clients to reach files). The strange thing is, the files are still accessible from the program that uses them if I type the network share path in manually. So it is only a problem with Windows Explorer browsing the path. The reason I think there is some sort of configuration or setting, possibly in the registry, corrupted is that when the problem first manifest itself, I was somehow able to open an explorer window to a network share path, but the breadcrumb in the address bar did not function properly. It duplicated the share name folder at the top of the breadcrumb stack and when I clicked the second of the duplicated share folder, it crashed explorer.exe. I haven't been able to browse any network share path since this happened. I have tried using the IP address directly \\192.168.1.# as well as \\localhost and neither of those work either. I have tried running sfc /scannow and it did not find any errors. I tried ipconfig /flushdns and this made no difference. Attempting to map the network share to a drive fails using either the explorer GUI or net use command. Is there some way to reset Windows Explorer somehow to resolve this? I'd really like to avoid reinstalling Windows entirely if I can.

I've red this article from howtogeek, but it didn't explain this one which is placed in the target portion when you right click on windows explorer and click properties: %windir%\explorer.exe shell:desktop\Inbox And why does local disk E: shows up when I have this one: %windir%\explorer.exe shell:E:\FINAL SAVE DATA I don't really get the code, especially the part in shell: desktop\Inbox. What's that supposed to mean. How do I change it so that when I click on the Windows Explorer shortcut, I get to see this location: E:\FINAL SAVE DATA

Vim convert tabs to spaces for one folder

I'm working on a project with a friend soon. Given that he cares about these things more than me, I let him choose the indentation. Him being a Ruby fan, he chose two spaces. My usual is to use tabs. Is there anyway I can set vim to, only in this specific folder, have it as two spaces when I press the tab button?

Internet Explorer 7 Bugs - incorrect display OR dead links

Hi, I recently launched a website I have been developing over the past year - http://Live.heritageartpapers.co.uk/. My dad, who owns the company, had a phone call today saying it doesnt display properly in IE7. Bug #1: The header and footer are both in a div, whereas the content is in a table between the two divs. Reportedly the content (table) sometimes (not always, according to IETester) displays below the footer, but the footer still displays where it is supposed to (ie there is a massive gap where the content should fit). Bug #2: When the content does display in the correct place, all the links on the page are dead - click on them and nothing happens. As you can see if you view it in Firefox (the version I am using is 3.6), the links in the left hand menu turn orange on mouseover. However they do not even do this in IE7. Note that they do turn orange and do work if the content is displayed below the footer. I cant see why its happening - according to IETester, the IE7 interpreted source code has all the tags capitalised and many quotes removed (for example for the id attribute on most, if not all, tags) but I doubt this could cause the above bugs, could it? My question is whether anyone has ever seen any of these problems before, and/or has a solution to any of these problems?? I currently do not have the application open, but will post any relevant code in a few minutes. Alternatively just use view source. Many thanks in advance. Regards, Richard Clarke

jQuery-ui tabs: interference between tabs

I use the jQuery-ui tabs widget as a navigation. Contents of all tabs are load via ajax. Seems that there is interference between tabs. I mean, for example, if in page1 in tab1, there is an element whose ID is foo, and in page2 in tab2, there is an element with the same ID. And in both page, there is javascript code to manipulate the element with ID foo, then weird things will happen. How to deal with this situation?

Win 7 - Restore Favorites in Windows Explorer

Hi all, have this issue - the Favorites link in windows explorer doesn't work. I can't drag and drop anything to it, I can't 'Add current location to Favorites'. Clicking on 'Restore Favorites' does nothing. I can't remember when this started, but I assume I accidentally deleted the Favorites folder. I should probably mention that my user profile is ntfs-junctioned to D:\Users\myname. I tried creating a new Favorites folder, giving it all possible permissions, but that doesn't work. I tried to look in the registry, under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\Shell folders HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\User Shell folders HKEY_USERS\.default\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\Shell folders HKEY_USERS\.default\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\User Shell folders I played with the values in there (pointing to C:\Users\myname\Favorites, D:\Users\myname\Favorites), but nothing seemed to help. Any help would be much appreciated.

Why is Internet Explorer the only browser to be referred to by version when talking about compatibility?

Whenever I read something or hear someone talking about HTML5, CSS and JavaScript support, they always refer to Internet Explorer with the version number such as Internet Explorer 6, and Internet Explorer 9. But they only refer to Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari and others without version numbers. Shouldn't they also specify the version number in which certain web technologies are incompatible for other browsers instead of just Internet Explorer?

Loading JSON-encoded AJAX content into jQuery UI tabs

We want our of our AJAX calls in our web app to receive JSON-encoded content. In most places this is already done (e.g. in modals) and works fine. However, when using jQueryUI's tabs (http://jqueryui.com/demos/tabs/) and their ajax functionality, only plaintext HTML can be returned (i.e. from the URLs specified in the a tags below). question about combining jquery tabs and a toggling horizontal slide panel

Hi, I'm attempting to combine a horizontally sliding panel and the ui tabs plugin. The idea is that you press a button, a panel slides open and inside is a series of tabs that expand content below. In terms of getting this to function in the most basic sense, so far so good: http://www.claylerner.com/bio_alt/ And my source looks like this: $(document).ready(function(){ $(".btn-slide").click(function(){ $("#panel").animate({width: 'toggle'}); }); }); $(function() { $("#tabs").tabs({ selected: -1 }); }); However, the problem I'm running into occurs when you have a tab exapnded and then you collapse the horizontal panel--as you can see the animation that hides the currently expanded tab looks pretty clunky. I get that this is happening because there's not a separate function hiding the expanded tab. So my question is, how can I make it so that when the button to collapse the panel (".btn-slide") is toggled it first hides any currently expanded tabs and then hides the open panel. Thanks so much!

Jquery tabs and forms

Hi, this may be a weird problem but I’m not sure the best way to go about it.. I am using JQuery ajax tabs. The tab section is dynamic so multiple tabs can be added, as the content is loaded via Ajax the same content can be loaded into different tabs. The other important detail is that i am using the Cache option so the tabs maintain state. Now problems arise when more than one tab has been loaded. It looks like HTML items such as forms and divs now have duplicated id's within the DOM, so Ajax queries can no longer distinguish between the elements.. The result is that any JavaScript/Ajax breaks. Does anyone have any suggestions for way to tackle such a problem? Thanks in advance..

jQuery: tabs where the tab/content can be linked to

My issue is simple. I have already implemented a tab system, and I'd probably spend more time implementing another one with the solution I need, than giving a shot at adapting the code I have, and learn something while asking :) My problem is that the tabs can't be linked to, I need to be able to link to a tab from another website or page, and have that tab get selected upon page load. ie: I have three tabs showing different products, by default tab 1 is active/selected when the page loads. From the home page I want to link to tab 2 but I can't link to tab 2 because it doesn't get selected. Not sure if that makes sense. JQuery UI Tabs - replace tab and contents

What is the best way to replace the currently selected tab and its contents? The content is dynamically generated with jquery, not loaded via a URL. I need to do this from outside of any tab code or tab event handler (show, add, etc.). There is a link elsewhere on the page that should do the following when clicked: Change the tab's title Change the tab's className Clear out all elements of the tabcontent div Change the tabcontent div's className Generate new content inside the tabcontent div Note that the only reference this link's click() handler has is to the JQuery tabs object ($Tabs). I can get the selected tab with $Tabs.tabs('option','selected'). But how can I get a reference to the selected tab's tab and panel? Inside of a jquery tab handler (show, add, etc.), I have access to ui.tab and ui.panel, but is there a way to get them from a tabs option? Would it be better to simply remove the currently selected tab and then add a new tab in the same index location? I'd have to put the code to generate the tab content into the add() handler then I suppose.

I am trying to enable a disabled tab in Jquery but it doesn't work I have my tabs:  <div id="signuptabs"> <ul> <li><a href="type.php"><span>Number type</span></a></li> <li><a href="ber.php"><span>Choose Number</span></a></li> <li><a href="ces.php"><span>Devices</span></a></li> <li><a href="ups.php"><span>Ring Groups</span></a></li> <li><a href="t.php"><span>IVR Text</span></a></li> <li><a href="nu.php"><span>IVR Menu</span></a></li> <li><a href="nfo.php"><span>Billing Information</span></a></li> </ul> </div>  Then I have my Javascript: $(document).ready(function() { $("#signuptabs").tabs({ disabled: [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7] }); //number type button $('#target').click(function() { $('#signuptabs').enableTab(2); // enables third tab }); }); I have a button with an ID 'target' that when clicked is supposed to enable the (2) tab. The tabs show as disabled but will not enable. what is wrong??
