  I begin to learning direct3d10 and stuck with multiple passes. What am I doing wrong? Also, I've got another question - should I set vertex shader in every pass?   Is it possible programmatically to discover the exported names (globals, entry points, whatever) in a Windows DLL file without implementing a parser for the binary executable file format itself? I know there are tools to do this (though no open source ones I've found), but I'm curious whether there is a Windows API to accomplish the same thing or whether such tools operate merely by examining the binary file directly. I suspect there is an API for .NET libraries: if that's the case then is there a similar one for native DLLs? Edit: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1128150 is basically an exact duplicate. The answer there is roughly "there is no API, but you can hack it using LoadLibraryEx() and navigating a few resulting data structures". Edit: I was able to use the accepted answer at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1128150 to create a quick DLL dumper with Python and ctypes that works.

  I have a "global variable" XML schema in TIBCO BusinessWorks. It's simpler than it looks - basically just a single repeatable node. Image: Tibco globals. (old URL redacted) Various processes in the system can update this list. Checking to see if they are listed is easy: $GetVariable/subscriber-list/subscriber = $_processContext/ns:ProcessContext/ProcessId Adding themselves to the list is pretty easy too, using a Set Variable activity (see bottom half of image) But how can a process remove itself from the list? I'm sure there's a type of mapping I can use to filter out the node I want and let the rest through?

• C# VSTO: Coloring pivottable cells

  HI, I'm trying to make some code color a PivotTable. It works just fine coloring the cells it's supposed to, but if I refresh the table, all the colors disappear, as if the colors haven't been properly attached to the PivotTable. • PHP: Alternative to SESSIONS

  Hi, I have a PHP application that relies on session variables quite a lot. After login the user get redirected to a page that executes code to set up a load of session variables depending on who the user is. The application is using data from different sources and the sessions are used to store ID numbers to query the databases. So when the user goes to a page that will query their asset management system their ID for that particular database is called via the session. I've had a LOT of problems with session variables recently. Sometimes only one session file is created during the lifetime of the app, and sometimes each session request results in a new session id (still haven't managed to find out why!). My question is this. Is there an alternative to using session variables for this? Like globals or some other way? Any help most appreciated! Regards, Jonesy

But my when I try to import it in a script running on the appengine I get an error saying no such library exists. • My multithread program works slowly or appear deadlock on dual core machine, please help

  I have a program with several threads, one thread will change a global when it exits itself and the other thread will repeatedly poll the global. No any protection on the globals. The program works fine on uni-processor. On dual core machine, it works for a while and then halt either on Sleep(0) or SuspendThread(). Would anyone be able to help me out on this? The code would be like this: Thread 1: do something... while(1) { ..... flag_thread1_running=false; SuspendThread(GetCurrentThread()); continue; } Thread 2 .... while(flag_thread1_running==false) Sleep(0); ....

• Python namespace in between builtins and global?

  Hello, As I understand it python has the following outermost namespaces: Builtin - This namespace is global across the entire interpreter and all scripts running within an interpreter instance. Globals - This namespace is global across a module, ie across a single file. I am looking for a namespace in between these two, where I can share a few variables declared within the main script to modules called by it. For example, script.py: import Log from Log import foo from foo log = Log() foo() foo.py: def foo(): log.Log('test') # I want this to refer to the callers log object I want to be able to call script.py multiple times and in each case, expose the module level log object to the foo method. Any ideas if this is possible? It won't be too painful to pass down the log object, but I am working with a large chunk of code that has been ported from Javascript. I also understand that this places constraints on the caller of foo to expose its log object. Thanks, Paul

  I know it can't be done since using var can only be done for local variables. • PHP Possible Memory Leak

  I have a script that loops through a database for images to convert with gd & imagick. I unset or replace all variables and objects in between each loop. For each loop, get_memory_usage(1) reveals a concurrent amount of memory used by that script. Which is expected. But, when I run "top", the %MEM column reports that this script, (same PID), increments with several percentages for each loop. I destroy all images when I'm done with them, and when I run get_defined_vars(); only the standard globals and a few variables I have is set. Why is "top" % Memory Usage different than what PHP reports? After 10 loops, PHP has taken 20% percetage of the system memory. I run php 5.2.6 on Debian 5

  I'm not the best at understanding these things with php and smarty, but this is really annoying. On: http://www.euroworker.no/order, there is meant to be a display of the amount of tax included in the price like: Tax (25%): 772,- Totalt: 3861,- But unless the user has logged in or created a new account, the tax doesn't display.   Hoping someone can clear this up for me. Let's say I have 2 globals: var myarray=[1,3,5,7,9],hold; and then I do this: function setup() { alert (myarray[0]);//shows 1 hold=myarray; alert (hold);//appears to show 'hold' containing all the values of myarray. first number shown is 1 myarray[0]=2; alert (hold);//shows the values of myarray with the updated first entry. first numbe shown is 2 } Am I to take it that 'hold' is simply keeping a reference to myarray, rather than actually taking all the values of?

• What is the correct way to bootstrap Drupal with Kohana 3?

  Hi, I am trying to implement single sign on between an existing Drupal site a Kohana 3 based webapp. Ideally I would like to load Drupal's session information into $GLOBALS using the bootstap: require_once('../includes/bootstrap.inc'); drupal_bootstrap(DRUPAL_BOOTSTRAP_SESSION); A post on the Kohana forum suggested that this should be placed in Kohana's index.php, but didn't say where. I've tried right at the start, and just before Kohana's own bootstrap, but both result in a White Screen of Death. Changing the bootstrap level to DRUPAL_BOOTSTRAP_CONFIGURATION works, but the session data isn't loaded. Any bootstrap level above DRUPAL_BOOTSTRAP_ACCESS results in a WSOD. If anyone has any ideas I'd really appreciate it!
