  • Emulating hyperlink functionality in datawindow text fields

    The idea is rather simple. Some datawindow (not web datawindow) varchar fields contain detailed descriptions. I was wondering if it is possible to provide the following (wikipedia-like) functionality to users: The ability to click (or dbl-click or whatever) on specific words of the text, while reading (which somehow should be indicated as clickable - it would be perfect if they could be colored blue but I don't think this is possible) and open a relevant window (or response). Do you think something like this could be implemented?

    newly i have created a news website, everything is based on php and mysql, NOW with more attention on other news website i see something wrong with my site in all of them when you are click on a news, that news open like a new page and in link bar you can see the link of that news like this: http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2012/09/space-shuttle-endeavour-lands-in-los-angeles/ BUT in my website i have a page that named viewer.php and this page connected to database, when you are click on a news in my site you see something like this in link bar: www.example.com/viewer.php?ne_id=14 ne_id in my news table set specific number for a news like 14 and all of news (title, content and so on)saved on database how that site work? how to create like that site? i don't have any idea? if you know somthing (EVERYTHING) i need it please , i have really confused really sorry for my terrible english and thanks for your time

    Hey folks I was wondering if anyone can tip me on a painless way of invoking a modal view controller from a web link in a UIWebView. Is it possible to do this? I want the modal view controller to still be a part of the app as opposed to closing the main app and using a helper application instead. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Using PHP to display button with hyperlink or greyed out button if no URL in database

    I've got a webpage that I'm working on where you click on a letter or category and it displays records matching that query from a database. One of the things I want to display is a hyperlinked button that says "Website" if the database record contains a URL in the 'URL' field, and if there is no value in that field, it will display a greyed out version of that button. I tried using an if...else statement, but was absolutely unable to get the syntax correct trying to get php to call up the 'URL' value in the middle of an "echo " So here's what I did: <?php if($row_rsmemalpha['URL'] != NULL) ?><a href="http://<?php echo ($row_rsmemalpha['URL']);?>"><target ="_blank"><img src="web_button_on.gif" alt="Website" border="0" height="18" width="103" /></target></a> <?php if($row_rsmemalpha['URL'] == NULL) echo "<img src=\"web_button_off.gif\" alt=\"No Website Available\" height=\"18\" width=\"103\" />"; ?> If there is a URL available it shows the button properly. But if there isn't a URL in the database it shows both buttons. I have spent a few days studying examples and tutorials on the web, but haven't found too much that helps. The buttons were completely non-functional when I started, so I'm pretty proud of getting this far with it! I've just run out of time and patience for more trial-and-error experimenting.   • Looking for how-to use UIGraphicsSetPDFContextURLForRect on iOS or Cocoa

    I'm playing to manipulate PDF on iOS (display but also and mostly generation). I wish to embed rectangular areas which act as "external" links (URLs like http://host.tld/path/file). Do you know where I can find an example(s) of how to use the UIGraphicsSetPDFContextURLForRect function? I find absolutly nothing on Internet. If I understand well, the only requirement is that the current graphic context should be PDF "type" and I think I respect this since, upstream, I call UIGraphicsPushContext why my PDF context as parameter (this was anyway required for methods like drawAtPoint: that I use also with success). I do not think it is important but just in case I specify that this DOES NOT take place in the drawRect: of a View subclass. You're quite right to say me unequivocally that I have "all wrong". The graphical environment is so sophisticated and rich in iOS that I assume to have not assimilated more than 1 or 2% for now. Thank you in advance.

  • How can developers use a similar tracking link to Google's results page?

    I've read heaps of pages of people trying to implement some kind of tracking system similar to the way Google reroutes search link. Eg: Search "Facebook" in Google, open in a new window, and the link changes to something like: "http://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CBkQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2F&rct=j&q=Facebook&ei=sksZTZexJobJccXnxZYK&usg=AFQjCNHTTNi-O4Qgrg6kvGVfKJuRqbuOKw&cad=rja" I'm guessing Google tracks that click and then redirects to the actual site by reading the url parameter. What I wanted to know is if there was a simple way that you can make this kind of functionality work using an onclick event - just change the link href after being clicked to redirect? There's a few threads, but from what I could find, nobody has actually succeeded without problems or limitations. Thanks in advance.

  • How can i call an XSL template within a hyperlink in the XSL stylesheet

    I am making my own XSL stylesheet which will perform different views on the same XML document Because the XML document is so large, i would like some links at the top of the outputted page to call each template that will be used to display the data. At the moment I can create links that use anchors to a place in the document but it would be better if i just call each template as needed. How can i just call each template in a link? I can't use DomDocument, it's in php cli, I need regex solution..   • find_all_links() Perl function don't find all links

    I'm starting with Perl and I'm trying to do a script that log me out of a page (I already did the login one). The think is, I'm trying to use find_link function from WWW::Mechanize (I also tried WWW::Mechanize::Firefox) to find the logout link, but it's not working. So, my question is: is the event onmouseover avoiding that link to be founded? I think WWW::Mechanize::Firefox supports javascript but maybe it's not correct. Logout Is there a way to do what I want? Any help or suggestions will be highly appreciated.

    I've created a dynamic page that, depending on the view type, will sometimes utilize the anchor tags and other times not. Essentially, I want to be able to control if on click the page jumps to the anchor. Is it possible to hide anchor tags using jQUery, so they are essentially removed? I need to be able to re-enable the anchors when necessary, and always show the current anchor in the browser's address bar. It seems to work in FireFox, but not in Internet Explorer.   • adding a class when link is clicked from Wordpress loop

    I am trying to isolate and add a class to a clicked anchor tag. The tags are getting pulled from a Wordpress loop. I can write JQuery to remove the "static" class, but it is removing the class from all tags in the div rather than just the one clicked and not adding the "active" class.     My friend is making a website for a class. Some of the pages display gif image files as links. They display correctly in Firefox and Chrome but not in Internet Explorer. Anybody know why?     In Javascript code, I would like to programmatically cause the browser to follow a link that's on my page. Simple case: <a id="foo" href="mailto:[email protected]">something</a> function goToBar() { $('#foo').trigger('follow'); } This is hypothetical as it doesn't actually work. And no, triggering click doesn't do it. I am aware of window.location and window.open but these differ from native link-following in some ways that matter to me: a) in the presence of a <base /> element, and b) in the case of mailto URLs. The latter in particular is significant. In Firefox at least, calling window.location.href = "mailto:[email protected]" causes the window's unload handlers to fire, whereas simply clicking a mailto link does not, as far as I can tell. I'm looking for a way to trigger the browser's default handling of links, from Javascript code. Does such a mechanism exist? Toolkit-specific answers also welcome (especially for Gecko).

    I need to create links using dynamic values for both the URL and the anchor text. I have column called URL, which contains URL's, i.e., http://stackoverflow.com, and I have a column called Title, which contains the text for the anchor, i.e., This Great Site. I figure maybe all I need to do is nest this tags, along with a little HTML to get my desired result: <a href="> <xsl:value-of select="@URL">"> <xsl:value-of select="@Title"/> </xsl:value-of> </a> In my head, this would render: <a href=" http://stackoverflow.com"> This Great Site </a> I know there's more to it, but I haven't been able to clearly understand what more I need. I think this issue has been addressed before, but not in a way I could understand it. I'd be more than happy to improve the question's title to help noobs like myself find this item, and hopefully an answer. Any help is greatly appreciated.
