  • Cutting Row with Data and moving to different sheet VBA

    I'm trying to cut a row that has the specified cell blank and then paste it into another sheet in the same workbook. My coding works fine to delete the row but everything I've tried to cut and paste keeps giving me errors.   • Change the spell-checking language on a PowerPoint presentation

    I received a PowerPoint presentation with dozens of slides, each of them with a number of text boxes. Although the presentation is written in English, the language for spell checking is set to Canadian French. I’m trying to change the language to English, but even if I select all the slides and select a new element on the Language dialog box, the language of the text boxes remain the same. So I have to go slide by slide selecting the text boxes and then changing the language individually. Is there a better way to do this? The version of PowerPoint I have installed is 2002 SP3.

  • Free-flow Alternative to Powerpoint?

    So I've been digging around the net trying to find a good set of alternatives to Powerpoint. Part of my interest is that I found one, Prezi, that I liked for it's free-form style. Part of the power of it was that I can zoom out and select any part of the presentation to continue from and it feels much like a mind map or association of thoughts. Are there any other tools that offer anything similar in vein to this way of presenting material? I'm looking for something that just pops differently than a death-by-powerpoint-style presentation, so I would be happy to find tools that help present information in more fluid styles. It doesn't have to mirror Prezi, and I wouldn't want that, but after seeing what Prezi does, I have to think there are other ways of presenting information to a group of people than one square slide at a time.

  • I can't remove a background image in Powerpoint 2007

    Hello Everyone! I have a Powerpoint 2007 document. There is this annoying background graphic in my Powerpoint slide. I know about slide master, but this little bugger is not something that I can delete from slide master. Argh!!!!   • Changing bounds of excel file embedded in powerpoint

    When I embed an excel files into powerpoint, I'm having two issues. On some of the spreadsheets, empty columns are displayed on the right hand side of the powerpoint slide On other spreadsheets that are too large to fit, I can't adjust the bounds of what I'd like to be displayed on the slide. So, I couldn't choose a larger area to display of the excel spreadsheet and just size it down. It arbitrarily chooses where to cut off the excel spreadsheet on the slide. Is there any way to adjust which part of the excel file is embedded?

  • Converting Powerpoint to PDF solutions?

    I asked a version of this question earlier, but I'm in need of other solutions, so this is a more pointed question. I'm in need of a server-based solution for converting ppt files to pdf files. This solution can either sit on the current web server as a console command-triggered service, it can be integrated into the C# code of the web all, or it can be it's own server. It also can't be based off of Libreoffice or Openoffice, as those two have problems converting SmartArt. I'm currently using Libreoffice. I've tried Powerpoint console commands combined with a PDF driver but I can't get that to work from C#. I've tried a .vbs script, but that briefly opens the powerpoint window.

  • PowerPoint 2010 won't open any files.

    Recently I installed Office 2010 BETA on my friend's laptop after recommending it to her. The problem is, whenever she tries to open files in powerpoint it claims that there is a problem with them and it can attempt to repair them, when you click repair it just says there was a problem with the file and it can't open it. The exact same .ppt files work fine on my copy of PowerPoint 2010 (we sent the file from her laptop to mine via MSN) so I'm confused as to why they won't work just on her laptop. Any insight into this would be fantastic :) Thanks.

  • Powerpoint not drawing in slide properly...

    So got another issue to post about. I have a user here who uses powerpoint a lot, Office 07 with SP2. When he opens up the presentation, powerpoint opens fine without errors, but does not draw in the main slide properly. So to better explain that, the list on the left hand side, that shows the slides and what order they are in, loads up fine. You can see the slides and the content etc. When you click on a slide, to edit it, it does not draw in on the editing screen. Not really sure how to explain that. The screen where the work on the slide is done, is what is affected. This is a screen shot from my pc not the users. So instead of the screen saying "Click to add title" it would be improperly drawn such that if I were to drag an explorer window across it, it would leave a trail. I have tried reinstalling office, updating it, as well as giving the user a new windows image and nothing has helped. Any help or advice is appreciated.

By the way, I could go into a long explanation about why I need to do this, but let me just say that I've already argued against it, and I have to do it this way (meaning, I have to use Excel as a frontend to open several Access dbs and run their macros).

  • How to insert hyperlink into access database via sql?

    I have a fairly simple MS Access Database that contains some metadata about a bunch of documents and a hyperlink field that links to the document on our network drive. However, when I use a SQL INSERT statement to populate the hyperlink field, the value I give it only becomes the display text, not the actual link. How can I make the value a functional hyperlink? I'd think that the hyperlink data type would actually create hyperlinks. I'm using Access 2002 SP3.

  • Embedding SWF in Powerpoint VSTO

    hi guys, I was wondering if there is someway to embed a Flash Shockwave Object or .SWF file in MS Powerpoint (Presentation) 2007 and higher version. ie inside ".pptx" formats . by embed i mean when i save the presentation,close it . i wont be needing the the .swf file again.that way i can share the Presentations with others. If i use this link Insert-Flash-Into-PowerPoint-2007,it works but when i save and close the presentation,the swf file doesnt get embeded. (Note:if i do the same with a .ppt file,it works correctly.) I know we can embed the swf inside powerpoint presentation version 2003 ie.".ppt" format. but couldn't do the same in .pptx format. Also is it possible to embed .swf file in .pptx using OpenXML format? I tried to rename the ".pptx" file to ".zip" and added the ".swf" in media folder. and then renamed it back to ".pptx",but when opened in Powerpoint,it gave error about unreadable content or corruption. I had read somewhere that its kind of strategy from MS not to provide this kind of support for Adobe Swf file / ActiveX object. and as of now the feature is not supported. Flashppt PPTX Embed not supported I tried the same with office 2010 and still the same result.it doesnt work. Anyone has any workarounds etc?     I'm trying to open two PowerPoint 2007 documents, and they are open, but they're STUCK in the same window. I can't look at both presentations simultaneously, which is what I want to do. I want to open each presentation in ITS OWN, SEPARATE WINDOW, like in MS-Word how you can have two documents open and they'd be in two separate, draggable windows. I want OUT of the MDI and just have two completely separate windows! How?

  • Change Powerpoint chart data with .NET

    I have a Powerpoint template that contains 1 slide and on that slide is a chart. I'd like to be able to manipulate that charts data using .NET. So far I have code that... unzips the Powerpoint file. unzips the embedded excel file (ppt\embeddings\Microsoft_Office_Excel_Worksheet1.xlsx) It successfully manipulates the data in the excel sheet and zips it back up. Opens and manipulates ppt\charts\chart1.xml Powerpoint is then zipped up and delivered to the user The result of this is a Powerpoint file that shows a blank chart. But when I click on the chart and go to edit data it updates the data and shows the correct chart. I believe my problem is with the chart1.xml that I am generating. I have compared my generated version with a version created by Powerpoint and they are almost identical. The only differences are in the values for <c:crossAx> and <c:axId>. There are also some rounding difference in the data. But I do not feel like that would result in an blank chart. Is there another file that I need to edit? Does anyone have any ideas as to what else I should try to get this working?
