  • Why Skype doesn't work in Quantal

    - by Lionthinker
Since updating to Quantal Skype doesn't work and I get this error when updating: W:GPG error: http://ppa.launchpad.net quantal Release: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY F6A071ABEE5D5BA2 W:Failed to fetch http://archive.canonical.com/commercial-ppa-uploaders/skype/ubuntu/dists/quantal/main/source/Sources 404 Not Found [IP: 91.189.92.191 80] W:Failed to fetch http://archive.canonical.com/commercial-ppa-uploaders/skype/ubuntu/dists/quantal/main/binary-amd64/Packages 404 Not Found [IP: 91.189.92.191 80] W:Failed to fetch http://archive.canonical.com/commercial-ppa-uploaders/skype/ubuntu/dists/quantal/main/binary-i386/Packages 404 Not Found [IP: 91.189.92.191 80] E:Some index files failed to download. • Why are the proposed BADSIG (on apt-get update) fixes secure?

    - by EvanED
I'm running apt-get update, and I see errors like W: GPG error: http://us.archive.ubuntu.com precise Release: The following signatures were invalid: BADSIG 40976EAF437D05B5 Ubuntu Archive Automatic Signing Key <[email protected]> It's not hard to find instructions on how to fix these problems, for instance by asking for the new keys with apt-key adv --recv-keys or rebuilding the cache; so I'm not asking about how to fix these. But why is this the right thing to do? Why is "oh, I need new keys? Cool, go get new keys" not just defeating the purpose of having a signed repository in the first place? Are the keys signed by a master key that apt-key checks? Should we be doing some additional validation to ensure that we're getting legitimate keys?

  • How is this "interface"-like structure/pattern called?

    - by Sebastian Negraszus
Let's assume we have an XmlDoc class that contains basic functionality for dealing with an XML data structure and saving/loading data to/from a file. Now we have several subclasses, A, B and C. They all inherit from XmlDoc and add component-specific methods for setting and getting lots of data. They are like "interfaces" but also add an implementation for the signatures. Finally, we have an ABCDoc class that joins all the "interfaces" via virtual multiple inheritence and adds some ABCDoc-specific stuff, such as using XMLDoc-methods to set an appropriate doc type. We may also have an ADoc class for only saving A data. How is this pattern called? "Interface" is not really the right word since interfaces usually do not contain an implementation. Bonus points for C++ code conventions.

  • Where Can I find a good tutorial for IJG libjpeg

    - by Dana the Sane
I need to do some work with this library and I'm finding the documentation at http://apodeline.free.fr/DOC/libjpeg/libjpeg.html to be deficient (incomplete function signatures, etc). Does anyone know of some other sides or have some example code illustrating common tasks? [Edit] I also found this question with an example, but any others would be helpful.

  • Lilypond: Customize bar lines, recursively, automatically?

    - by ananth.p
    I'm working on Carnatic music scores that involve complex time signatures, that will require modified bar lines Pattern for barlines for: 8/4 beats: 1 2 3 4 (dashed bar here) 5, 6 (Dotted Bar) 7, 8 (double bar) Here's one bar of actual score g16( f) d8 ees( ees) d16( c d8) bes16[( d c bes \bar "dashed" a g]) a[( bes c] d[ c d]) \bar ":" g8( f16) ees8( d16 c d) \bar "||" Is there a way to automate these barlines?

  • Entity Date Modelset Generates Errors in Visual Web Developer

    - by davemackey
I attempted to add a ADO.NET Entity Data Model to my Visual Web Developer 2010 Express project and it generates but returns a whole slew of errors. Why is this generating errors? Here are the main errors: 'Public Property ID As Integer' has multiple definitions with identical signatures. Method 'Onaddress_IDChanging' cannot be declared 'Partial' because only one method 'Onaddress_IDChanging' can be marked 'Partial'. '_line1' is already declared as 'Private _line1 As String' in this class.

  • How do I delete a signature from an Excel document using Office automation

    - by Guy Marom
Hello, I have a signed Excel workbook and I want to delete the signature from it. The problem is that when I try to delete the signature there's a prompt for confirming the deletion and I want the process to be fully automatic. Here's a code sample, the prompt appears when the last line executes: Dim source As String = "c:\temp\signed.xlsx" Dim app As New Application() app.Visible = True Dim book As Workbook = app.Workbooks.Open(source, UpdateLinks:=0) app.ShowToolTips = False Dim sig As Microsoft.Office.Core.Signature = book.Signatures.Item(1) sig.Delete() Thanks

  • Should interfaces define properties?

    - by Otávio Décio
Interfaces, as defined by MSDN "contain only the signatures of methods, delegates or events." However, since properties are no more than syntactic sugar for a get and set method, they are also allowed in interfaces. My question is - is there any situation where defining properties in an interface is appropriate or should we stick to the scenarios described by MSDN?

  • bash grep finding java declarations

    - by Amarsh
i have a huge .java file and i want to find all declared objects given the className. i think the declaration will always have the following signature: className objName; or className objName = or className objName= can someone suggest me a grep pattern which will find these signatures. I have the following (incomplete) : cat $rootFile | grep "$className "

  • How to wire a verifier to a 2.0m5 Restlet using the spring extension and an xml config?

    - by Kevin Pauli
I can't seem to find any example of how to do this. Imperatively in java it would be a piece of cake of course, but I can't seem to figure out how to inject my JaasVerifier into my SpringComponent declaratively from within the xml. It appears from the method signatures that Verifier is designed to be attached to Context, but the instance of Context itself is created as a side effect of the SpringComponent creation so I can't get a hold of it in Spring. There must be something I am missing.

  • How do I check if a Linq to SQL entity has grandchildren?

    - by EdenMachine
How can I find out if a Linq to SQL entity has grandchildren or not? Pseudo-code below: Return From p In dc.Processes Where p.Signers.Count > 0 and p.Signers.Signatures.Count > 0 Obviously I can't run the code above but I need to make sure that all the returning Processes have at least one Signer and that all of those Signers have at least one Signature. TIA!

  • C# 4.0 Named Parameters - should they always be used when calling non-Framework methods?

    - by David Neale
I really this is a hugely subjective topic but here is my current take: When calling methods which do not form part of the .NET BCL named parameters should always be used as the method signatures may well change, especially during the development cycle of my own applications. Although they might appear more verbose they are also far clearer. Is the above a reasonable approach to calling methods or have I overlooked something fundamental?

  • Trouble in type casting or any ideas ???

    - by ahmet732
I write code below but it gives warning.. I identified dbdesc as a NSString but nothing changes.. How will I handle with this type of warnings? **[self.searchDetailViewController setText:appDelegate.dbdesc];** warning:'searchDetailViewController' may not respond to 'setText:' (Messages without a message method signatures will be assumed to return (id) and accept '...'as arguments )

  • Line for signature in markdown

    - by JBarberU
I'm writing a document using markdown, which I'm exporting to a PDF using pandoc. At the end of the document I need to have space for signatures on a printed copy of the PDF. I've tried to find how to draw a line with a fixed width, but so far I only got to escaping the underscore character, which doesn't feel quite right. It's as if I'm missing something, this couldn't possibly be that unusual to want to do. Any help or pointers are greatly appreciated.

  • What does this `_time_independent_equals` mean?

    - by Satoru.Logic
In the tornado.web module there is a function called _time_independent_equals: def _time_independent_equals(a, b): if len(a) != len(b): return False result = 0 for x, y in zip(a, b): result |= ord(x) ^ ord(y) return result == 0 It is used to compare secure cookie signatures, and thus the name. But regarding the implementation of this function, is it just a complex way to say a==b?

  • Doxygen with C# internal access modifier

    - by Mike Gates
I am using Doxygen to generate some API docs for a C# project I am working on. I have quite a bit of "internal" functionality in this project and don't want Doxygen producing these signatures in the generated html it produces. I have tried enabling HIDE_FRIEND_COMPOUNDS but this still results in my internal classes being exposed in the generated documentation. Does anyone know how to do this?

  • Main point of Application Delegate class

    - by ahmet732
What's the main point behind putting variables and method signatures inside ApplicationDelegate.h in Objective-C ? By doing this, all those methods and variables are seen by another view controller classes? Is that the point? And also: is there only one application delegate class inside each project?
