• Issues with the [embed] tag and fonts

  Hi, I have some issue with the [embed] tag. Even if I set the embedFonts property of the textfield to true the text doesn't show up. The thing is that it worked previously and after some changes (not related to fonts) it doesn't. I'd like to understand how the embed process for font works to find the error in my code. I declare : [Embed(source = 'asset/font.ttf', fontName="font", mimeType="application/x-font-truetype")] private static var font:String; to assign the font to the program. Then i call "font" when declaring my textFormat. Is the "fontName" property the link with the textformat ? I work with flashdevelop and the flex_sdk_4.0.0.14159 (the big adobe one, with air (~140mo)) Thx ! -Leg

If possible please donot provide the solution in JQuery.   You will write a program that evaluates the integral of sin(x) using the left-hand rectangle rule with 2000 subintervals, over 10 intervals. The intervals to test are [0, 1), [1, 2), …, [8, 9), [9, 10). You will declare an array of type double that can hold 10 elements, and you will use this array to hold all 10 results you get from evaluating each interval.   Hi all I know that generics are used to achieve type safety and i frequently read that they are largely used in custom collections. But why actually do we need to have it generic? For example, Why cant i use string[] instead of List<string> Lets consider i declare generic class and it has a property X T x; If i provide a method for the class which does x = x + 1; what does it mean actually? I dono what T is actually going to be and i dono what x = x + 1 going to perform actually? If i'm not able to do my own manipulations in my methods how the generics are going to be help me anyway?   I'd like to pre-store a bunch of function calls in a data structure and later evaluate/execute them from within another function. This works as planned for functions defined at namespace level with defn (even though the function definition comes after my creation of the data structure) but will not work with functions defined by let [name (fn or letfn inside the function. I want to run a query from SQL Developer that calls that function and prints the document (either via a select, or dbms_output - I don't care). But all the examples/documentation seem to refer to querying XML columns in tables, and I can't seem to get the syntax right for my particular usage. • Tool used to retrieve code metrics in xUnit Test Patterns?

  I'm reading xUnit Test Patterns by Gerard Meszaros. On one of the pages he refers to some software metrics: While the need to wrap lines to keep them at 65 characters makes this code look even longer than it really is, it is still unnecessarily long. It contains 25 executable statements including initialized declarations, 6 lines of control statements, 4 in-line comments, and 2 lines to declare the test method—giving a total of 37 lines of unwrapped source code. Short of counting the statements to find these metrics, does anybody have any idea if he used a particular tool to calculate the metrics? (If you have any suggestions for tools that will count similar metrics, I'm looking for one that works on Java, Javascript and C++) Thanks!

• Jquery: Calling functions from different documents

  Hi, I've got some Jquery functions that I keep in a "custom.js" file. On some pages, I need to pass PHP variables to the Jquery so some Jquery bits need to remain in the HTML documents. However, as I'm now trying to refactor things to the minimum, I'm tripping over the following: If I put this in my custom.js: $(document).ready(function() { function sayHello() { alert("hello"); } } And this in a HTML document: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { sayHello(); }); </script> ... the function doesn't get called. However, if both are placed in the HTML document, the function works fine. Is there some kind of public property I need to declare for the function or how do I get Jquery functions in my HTML to talk to external .js files? They're correctly included and work fine otherwise.   I'm interested in using the Module Pattern to better organize my future projects. Unfortunately, there are only a few brief tutorials and proof-of-concept examples of the Module Pattern. Using the module pattern, I would like to organize projects into this sort of structure: project.arm.object.method(); Where "project" is my global project name, "arm" is a sub-section or branch of the project, "object" is an individual object, and so on to the methods and properties. • Do Hibernate table classes need to be Serializable?

  I have inherited a Websphere Portal project that uses Hibernate 3.0 to connect to a SQL Server database. There are about 130 Hibernate table classes in this project. They all implement Serializable. None of them declare a serialVersionUID field, so the Eclipse IDE shows a warning for all of these classes. Is there any actual need for these classes to implement Serializable? If so, is there any tool to add a generated serialVersionUID field to a large number of classes at once (just to make the warnings go away) ?

• jQuery Validation using the class instead of the name value

  Hi, I'd like to validate a form using the jquery validate plugin, but I'm unable to use the 'name' value within the html - as this is a field also used by the server app. Specifically, I need to limit the number of checkboxes checked from a group. (Maximum of 3.) All of the examples I have seen, use the name attribute of each element. What I'd like to do is use the class instead, and then declare a rule for that. html This works: <input class="checkBox" type="checkbox" id="i0000zxthy" name="salutation" value="1" /> This doesn't work, but is what I'm aiming for: <input class="checkBox" type="checkbox" id="i0000zxthy" name="i0000zxthy" value="1" /> javascript: var validator = $(".formToValidate").validate({ rules:{ "salutation":{ required:true, }, "checkBox":{ required:true, minlength:3 } } }); Is it possible to do this - is there a way of targeting the class instead of the name within the rules options? • Delphi constants and references

  I want to pass constant references to functions in delphi, so I am sure that the referenced object won't change and to save time and memory. So I want to declare a function like function foo(var const Value : Bar) : Boolean; however this is not allowed. I thought constant values would be automatically sent as references. However I found out that it is not the case (getting the address of an object before sending it to the function gives me $12F50C and the address of the same object inside the function is $12F564) What can I do to send constant references?

• Vim: different key mapping for different window

  My .vimrc file has filetype mappings for different filetypes such as : autocmd FileType sh map gf ... autocmd FileType ruby map gf ... While rewriting a program from one language to another, I have 2 splits, one with a shell script and one with ruby. I would assume that "gf" would take on its mapping based on filetype. However, it can only hold one mapping at a time. Is there any way to declare a mapping only for the existing file/window. I tried ":windo" and ":bufdo" but they work for all windows or buffers.
