  • Calling ASP.NET MVC Controller explicitly via AJAX

    - by effkay
    I know that I can use following piece of code to refresh a div: <%=Ajax.ActionLink( "Update", "Administration", new AjaxOptions { UpdateTargetId = "grid", LoadingElementId = "grid-wait" } ) %> But this creates a link; user will have to click on it to get the view refreshed. How can I make it automatic, i.e., like say if I want the grid to be refreshed after every five seconds?

  • DataTrigger only works on first TabItem in TabControl

    - by JustusJonas
    Hi! It seems like a bug in WPF, but maybe someone has an answers to this. I have a DataTrigger for an editable ComboBox. It works on the first TabItem of my TabControl, but not on the second. If you switch the first with the second TabItem, the "second" will work. The same effect happens when you give the style exactly to the ComboBox (ComboBox.Stye ...). <Window xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" x:Class="MainWindow" x:Name="Window" Title="MainWindow" Width="640" Height="480"> <Window.Resources> <Style TargetType="{x:Type ComboBox}"> <Setter Property="Height" Value="25" /> <Setter Property="Width" Value="125" /> <Style.Triggers> <DataTrigger Binding="{Binding ElementName=PART_EditableTextBox, Path=IsFocused}" Value="True"> <Setter Property="BitmapEffect"> <Setter.Value> <OuterGlowBitmapEffect GlowColor="Red" GlowSize="5" /> </Setter.Value> </Setter> </DataTrigger> </Style.Triggers> </Style> </Window.Resources> <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot"> <TabControl> <TabItem Header="TabItem1"> <Grid> <ComboBox IsEditable="True"/> </Grid> </TabItem> <TabItem Header="TabItem2"> <Grid> <ComboBox IsEditable="True"/> </Grid> </TabItem> </TabControl> </Grid>

The list of strings is an instance variable from the Window. What should I do?

  • How to handle One View with multiple ViewModel and fire different Commands

    - by Naresh
    Hi All, I have senario in which one view and view has binding with multiple ViewModel. Eg. One View displaying Phone Detail and ViewModel as per bellow: Phone basic features- PhoneViewModel, Phone Price Detail- PhoneSubscriptionViewModel, Phone Accessories- PhoneAccessoryViewModel For general properties- PhoneDetailViewModel I have placed View's general properties to PhoneViewModel.Now senario is like this: By default View displays Phone Basic feaures which is bind with ObservationCollection of PhoneViewModel. My view have button - 'View Accessories', onclick of this button one popup screen- in my design I have display/hide Grid and bind it with ObservationCollection of PhoneAccessoryViewModel. Now problem begins- Accessory List also have button 'View Detail' onclick I have to open one popup screen, here also I had placed one Grid and Visible/Hide it. I have bind 'ViewAccessoryDetailCommand' command to 'View Detail' button. And on command execution one function fires and set property which Visible the Popup screen. Using such programming command fires, function calls but the property change not raises and so my view does not display popup. Summary: One View-- ViewModel1--Grid Bind view ViewModel2 --Grid Have Button and Onclick display new Grid which binded with ViewModel3-this Command fires but property not raises. I think there is some problem in my methodology, Please, give your suggetions.

    - by slugster
    In the handler for the Completed event of a Storyboard, how do i get the element that the storyboard was being applied to? My Storyboard is part of an ItemTemplate: <ListBox x:Name="MyListBox" > <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Grid x:Name="Container" Height="30" > <Grid.Resources> <Storyboard x:Name="FadeOut" BeginTime="0:0:7" Completed="FadeOut_Completed"> <DoubleAnimation From="1.0" To="0.0" Duration="0:0:3" Storyboard.TargetName="Container" Storyboard.TargetProperty="Opacity" /> </Storyboard> </Grid.Resources> [...snip...] </Grid> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> in the Completed event i want to grab the grid called Container so that i can do nasty things with its DataContext. Can this be done, or am i going about it the wrong way? Thanks :)

  • Position:absolute

    - by Andrew
    I have I have a div called logo. I want the logo to be on top of other areas and to overlap into the the preface top of a drupal site, the logo currently sits in the header area. I looked up position absolute and I think that what I need to use but when I use position absolute the logo disappears, I can see it if I use position fixed, relative etc. I thought the logo was being hidden because I was not using a z-index but even with that I cant see the logo. What am I doing wrong? #logo { position: absolute; top: 30px; /* 30 pixels from the top of the page */ left: 80px; /* 80 pixels from the left hand side */ z-index:1099; border: 1px solid red; /* So we can see what is happening */ } Also does anyone know of a really good free online css course? Here is some additional information, namely the CSS and the page.tpl.php: <?php // $Id: page.tpl.php,v 1.1.2.5 2010/04/08 07:02:59 sociotech Exp $ ?><!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" lang="<?php print $language->language; • Starting out Silverlight 4 design

    - by Fermin
    I come from mainly a web development background (ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC, XHTML, CSS etc) but have been tasked with creating/designing a Silverlight application. The application is utilising Bing Maps control for Silverlight, this will be contained in a user control and will be the 'main' screen in the system. There will be numerous other user controls on the form that will be used to choose/filter/sort/order the data on the map. I think of it like Visual Studio: the Bing Maps will be like the code editor window and the other controls will be like Solutions Explorer, Find Results etc. (although a lot less of them!) I have read up and I'm comfortable with the data side (RIA-Services) of the application. I've (kinda) got my head around databinding and using a view model to present data and keep the code behind file lite. What I do need some help on is UI design/navigation framework, specifically 2 aspects: How do I best implement a fluid design so that the various user controls which filter the map data can be resized/pinned/unpinned (for example, like the Solution Explorer in VS)? I made a test using a Grid with a GridSplitter control, is this the best way? Would it be best to create a Grid/Gridsplitter with Navigation Frames inside the grid to load the content? Since I have multiple user controls that basically use the same set of data, should I set the dataContext at the highest possible level (e.g. if using a grid with multiple frames, at the Grid level?). Any help, tips, links etc. will be very much appreciated!

  • How to store the path of a game pawn in a turn based game ?

    - by panzerschreck
    Hello, I have a square grid, for a turn based game ( grid is similar to the chess board ), but the moves in the games are different based on whether you have lapped your opponent pawn at least once or not. i.e if you have not lapped (beaten any of the opponents pawns) in the outer most grid as below if you have lapped your opponent pawn once at least, then you get to reach home,this way.Any player having all his pawns reaching "home" first wins. The ones in yellow are safe-houses, i.e both the opponent pawn and the player's pawn get to stay in the same grid, this is not considered to be lapping ( the opponent ).The lapped pawn will return to its start point. Now the question is, what is the effective way to store the paths for the all the pawns.we will have 4 pawns for the player and 4 opponent pawns. Is there any pattern to store such static information, in a elegant way ? Thanks for your time

  • QTableWidget: How can I get tighter lines with less vertical spacing padding?

    - by Dirk Eddelbuettel
    The QTableWdiget is fabulous for simple grid displays. Changing colors, fonts, etc is straightforward. However, I did not manage to give the grid a 'tighter' look with less vertical whitespace. I see that the Qt documentation talks (eg here) about margin border padding around widgets, but when I set these I only get changes around the entire grid widget rather than inside. How can I set this (with a style sheet, or hard-coded options) directly to make the QTableWidget display tighter?

  • jqGrid dynamic event

    Suppose I have the following (shortened for simplicity): jQuery("#grid").jqGrid({ ... ondblClickRow: function() { // I want to define this function dynamically at run time } ... }); How to I bind ondblClickRow event outside of the grid Deceleration. For example in jQuery I would normally do $('#grid').bind('ondblClickRow', function() { alert('my over written event'); });

  • Silverlight TemplateBinding to RotateTransform

    - by Trog Dog
    I am trying to create the simplest Silverlight templated control, and I can't seem to get TemplateBinding to work on the Angle property of a RotateTransform. Here's the ControlTemplate from generic.xaml: <ControlTemplate TargetType="local:CtlKnob"> <Grid x:Name="grid" RenderTransformOrigin="0.5,0.5"> <Grid.RenderTransform> <TransformGroup> <RotateTransform Angle="{TemplateBinding Angle}"/> <!-- This does not work --> <!-- <RotateTransform Angle="70"/> --> <!-- This works --> </TransformGroup> </Grid.RenderTransform> <Ellipse Stroke="#FFB70404" StrokeThickness="19"/> <Ellipse Stroke="White" StrokeThickness="2" Height="16" VerticalAlignment="Top" HorizontalAlignment="Center" Width="16" Margin="0,2,0,0"/> </Grid> </ControlTemplate> Here's the C#: using System.Windows; using System.Windows.Controls; namespace CtlKnob { public class CtlKnob : Control { public CtlKnob() { this.DefaultStyleKey = typeof(CtlKnob); } public static readonly DependencyProperty AngleProperty = DependencyProperty.Register("Angle", typeof(double), typeof(CtlKnob), null); public double Angle { get { return (double)GetValue(AngleProperty); } set { SetValue(AngleProperty,value); } } } }

  • WebBrowser prevent stealing focus in C#

    I'm using webBrowser.Navigate(url) control to display page. I noticed this action steals focus from current control (grid) and than I have problem to focus grid back (tired myGrid.Focus, .Select etc...) This is really annoying behaviour of browser... Does anyone knows how to prevent focus stealing by Browser or (if not) hot to force to focus control back ? EDIT: I've also tried webBrowser.DocumentCompleted event to focus back to grid

  • Silverlight 3 - HeaderedItemsControl ControlTemplate

    - by user208662
    Hello, I am trying to create a HeaderedItemsControl where the headers are frozen. In an attempt to accomplish this, I have been trying to build on the default control template generated by Blend. I am using this default template in the following manner: <controls:HeaderedItemsControl x:Name="informationItemsControl"> <controls:HeaderedItemsControl.Template> <ControlTemplate> <Grid x:Name="Root"> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="Auto"/> <RowDefinition Height="*"/> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <ContentControl x:Name="HeaderContent" Content="{TemplateBinding Header}" ContentTemplate="{TemplateBinding HeaderTemplate}"/> <ItemsPresenter x:Name="Items" Grid.Row="1"/> </Grid> </ControlTemplate> </controls:HeaderedItemsControl.Template> ... </controls:HeaderedItemsControl> Oddly, when I use the default template, a blank screen appears in my application. A JavaScript error bubbles up that says: Error: Unhandled Error in Silverlight Application Code: 2012 Category: ParserError Message: Unknown attribute Content on element ContentControl. File: Line: 6 Position: 107 Source File: http://localhost:2995/ Line: 60 I noticed that this error appears as long as either Content="{TemplateBinding Header}" or ContentTemplate="{TemplateBinding HeaderTemplate}" exist in the ControlTemplate. If I remove both of those, the items appear just fine (but no header). I tried with a simple header that was just a TextBlock and I still received the error. What am I doing wrong? How do I get the Header to display within the ControlTemplate?

  • WPF: Focus in a Window and UserControl

    - by Echilon
    I'm trying to get a UserControl to tab properly and am baffled. The logical tree looks like this. |-Window -Grid -TabControl -TabItem -StackPanel -MyUserControl |-StackPanel -GroupBox -Grid -ComboBox -Textbox1 -Textbox2 Everything works fine, except when the visibility converter for the ComboBox returns Visibility.Collapsed (don't allow user to change database mode), then when textbox1 is selected, instead of being able to tab through the controls in the UserControl, the focus shifts to a button declared at the bottom of the window. Nothing else apart from the controls displayed has TabIndex or FocusManager properties set. I'm banging my head against a brick wall and I must be missing something. I've tried IsFocusScope=True/False, played with FocusedElement and nothing works if that ComboBox is invisible (Visibility.Collapsed). <Window x:Class="MyNamespace.Client.WinInstaller" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" FocusManager.FocusedElement="{Binding ElementName=tabWizard}"> <Window.Resources> <props:Settings x:Key="settings" /> </Window.Resources> <Grid Grid.IsSharedSizeScope="True"> <!-- row and column definitions omitted --> <loc:SmallHeader Grid.Row="0" x:Name="headerBranding" HeaderText="Setup" /> <TabControl x:Name="tabWizard" DataContext="{StaticResource settings}" SelectedIndex="0" FocusManager.IsFocusScope="True"> <TabItem x:Name="tbStart" Height="0"> <StackPanel> <TextBlock Text="Database Mode"/> <loc:DatabaseSelector x:Name="dbSelector" AllowChangeMode="False" TabIndex="1" AvailableDatabaseModes="SQLServer" IsPortRequired="False" DatabaseMode="{Binding Default.DbMode,Mode=TwoWay,UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}" DatabasePath="{Binding Default.DatabasePath,Mode=TwoWay,UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}"/> </StackPanel> </TabItem> ... • WPF - How do I get an object that is bound to a ListBoxItem back

    - by JonBlumfeld
    Hi there here is what I would like to do. I get a List of objects from a database and bind this list to a ListBox Control. The ListBoxItems consist of a textbox and a button. Here is what I came up with. Up to this point it works as intended. The object has a number of Properties like ID, Name. If I click on the button in the ListBoxItem the Item should be erased from the ListBox and also from the database... <ListBox x:Name="taglistBox"> <ListBox.ItemContainerStyle> <Style TargetType="{x:Type ListBoxItem}"> <Setter Property="HorizontalAlignment" Value="Stretch"/> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate TargetType="ListBoxItem"> <ContentPresenter HorizontalAlignment="Stretch"/> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> <Setter Property="Tag" Value="{Binding TagSelf}"></Setter> </Style> </ListBox.ItemContainerStyle> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Grid HorizontalAlignment="Stretch"> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="Auto"/> <ColumnDefinition/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <Button Grid.Column="0" Name="btTag" VerticalAlignment="Center" Click="btTag_Click" HorizontalAlignment="Left"> <Image Width="16" Height="16" Source="/WpfApplication1;component/Resources/104.png"/> </Button> <TextBlock Name="tbtagBoxTagItem" Margin="5" Grid.Column="1" Text="{Binding Name}" VerticalAlignment="Center" /> </Grid> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> The Textblock.Text is bound to object.Name and the ListBoxItem.Tag to object.TagSelf (which is just a copy of the object itself). Now my questions If I click the button in the listboxItem how do I get the listboxitem and the object bound to it back. In order to delete the object from the database I have to retrieve it somehow. I tried something like ListBoxItem lbi1 = (ListBoxItem)(taglistBox.ItemContainerGenerator.ContainerFromItem(taglistBox.Items.CurrentItem)); ObjectInQuestion t = (ObjectInQuestion) lbi1.Tag; Is there a way to automatically update the contents of the ListBox if the Itemssource changes? Right now I'm achieving that by taglistBox.ItemsSource = null; taglistBox.ItemsSource = ObjectInQuestion; I'd appreciate any help you can give :D Thanks in advance

  • GridView not DataBinding Automatically after ObjectDataSource Select Method

    - by John Polvora
    I've created a objectadasource that returns a datatable, the gridview is binded to this datasource. the ODS have parameters assigned on the Page_Load event, and the ODS returns the data ok and the gridview shows it fine. the problem is i have a textbox with a filter. first I created a filterexpression in gridview, using the contents of the textbox, worked fine for me. but now I've enabled the paging in gridview. then the filterexpression is not useful now, since the ODS returns only the rows of the pagesize of gridview. I did a new ODS method that select data from parameters page and pagesize according to GridView, and it's OK. now my filter textbox passes his text property to a parameter of the ods select method, then the ods gets the data based on my filter and shows it in the grid. on the Page_Load: ObjectDataSource_Lista.SelectParameters["search"].DefaultValue = filter; ObjectDataSource_Lista.SelectParameters["id"].DefaultValue = ID.ToString(); but when I change the value of the filter, the grid doesn't refresh. on debugging. I see that the ODS Select Method is refreshed ok, but the GridView don't. So I need to call mannually the Databind() method of the grid, to refresh data. the problem is, I have a commandbutton on the grid, and if I manually databind(), the command button stops functioning, generating Page ValidateRequest errors. My question is: how to databind() the grid automatically after the datasource refreshed? ps: on the ODS Selected event, causes a infinite loop and the debug webserver crashes. Temporary solution: Created a Variable private bool wasdatabound; on the event GridView_Databound, set wasdatabound = true; on the Page_PreRenderComplete, if ((GridView1.Visible) && (!databounded)) GridView1.DataBind();
