  • popViewControllerAnimated doesn't update info iPhone SDK

    When I try to pop a view controller, it doesnt update info for the previous view. Example: I have a cell that displays text in a label in View1. When you click on the cell it goes to View2 (for example) When I choose an option in View2, popViewControllerAnimated is used to go back to View1, however, I want the label to now be updated with the new option in View1. My dilemma is that when I pop View2, the label in View1 does not update. Any ideas?   • Post parameters to a frame of new window

    I have to modify an existing web search page. There is a page, where all the search filters are (form with name "searchform"). When the search button is pressed, results are shown in new window. Because the search takes up to 30 seconds, and while searching the window stays blank, I have to add a label "Searching. Please wait..." at the new created window with the results. So the search window is created, and I set it's location to a frameset. First frame will show the label, and the second will show the results. But i can't manage to update the second frame with the results.     I have a C# application that I'm trying to get to update automatically via ClickOnce. After publishing newer versions of software, I see the new versions in my publish folder, but when I open the application, it checks for updates, and does nothing (even though there are new files in the publish folder). What do I need in place for updates to be made automatically? Edit What version of Visual Studio are you using? Visual Studio 2008 Are you deploying the upgrades to the same location as the old version? They are being published to the same location (not sure about deployed) Is the installation URL the same? Have you incremented the version number? Yes In the Updates dialog reached by clicking the Updates button in the Publish page, do you have "The application should check for updates" checked? Assuming that there are a number of these files included on a page, what has access to what and what is the best way to pass data between the files? For example, I assume that MethodMan() can be accessed by anything on any included page. It is public, yes? var someVar1 is only accessible to the methods inside that particular anonymous function and nowhere else, yes? Also true of var APrivateMethod(), yes? What if I want APrivateMethod() to make something available to some other method in a different anonymous wrapped method in a different included page. What's the best way to pass data between these private, anonymous functions on different included pages? Do I simply have to make whatever I want to use between them public? How about if I want to minimize global variables?   • Address book Phone number (+45) prefix causing crash!

    Hi Guys... I am having trouble getting phone numbers from the iPhone Addressbook. There is no problem when the number do not contain a country code prefix like +45, but if it does, my app crashes... Is this a known issue? I haven't been able to find anything about it...   • Complex sorting on MySQL database

    I'm facing the following situation. We've got an CMS with an entity with translations. These translations are stored in a different table with a one-to-many relationship. For example newsarticles and newsarticle_translations. The amount of available languages is dynamically determined by the same CMS. When entering a new newsarticle the editor is required to enter at least one translation, which one of the available languages he chooses is up to him. In the newsarticle overview in our CMS we would like to show a column with the (translated) article title, but since none of the languages are mandatory (one of them is mandatory but i don't know which one) i don't really know how to construct my mysql query to select a title for each newsarticle, regardless of the entered language. And to make it all a little harder, our manager asked for the possibilty to also be able to sort on title, so fetching the translations in a separate query is ruled out as far as i know. Anyone has an idea on how to solve this in the most efficient way?     I understand that this problem is incredibly common and I have read through quite a few answers but am having trouble understanding how the code works. As I cycle through the text fields on the screen it scrolls up when the user enters into that txtLeaveAddyLine1 field. However, when I try to add the fields below the txtLeaveAddyLine1 field - nothing happens.     Trying to create a large textbox of fixed size. This problem is very similar to the 140 character constraint problem, but instead of stopping typing at 140 characters, I want to stop typing when the edge of the textView's frame is reached, instead of extending below into the abyss.   • iOS6: do we have to set rootViewController in App delegate in order to support different orientations?

    The app was perfectly fine working in iOS5 in landscape orientation. However in iOS6, it started to use portrait orientation in all view controllers. The methods shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation are not called anymore. I read the new stuff about changed rotation mechanism in iOS6 and I was able to fix that by adding a line in my AppDelegate: self.window.rootViewController = _viewController _viewControler is the starting screen (Home-menu). All other view controllers implement shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation method and returns YES for landscape orientations only. So, it's perfectly working solution for the app that needs to support only one orientation. However, the problem is I need one view controller (lets call it phone-VC) to be presented in portrait orientation. Now, if I want this view controller would be rotated then I need to return YES in Home-menu controller that is assigned to rootViewControler in appDelegate. However, I can't do that because this rootViewController is starting window that need to presented in landscape only, otherwise the layout with graphics in this window will break. But if I don't return YES from its shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation (Home-menu) then the same method is not called in my view phone-VC that needs to be presented in portrait. Any ideas? Does the assignation of rootViewController is mandatory in AppDelegate? UPDATE: the problem exists on device (at least on iPhone4).

    I have 4 ViewControllers, startViewController as the initial View Controller. This contains my intro. After its finish, it will [self presentViewController:vc animated:YES completion:NULL]; into my menuViewController. startViewController ------> menuViewController ------> C1ViewController \ \ ------> ImportantViewController In my menuViewController are buttons for the two ViewController like the above illustration. Also I presented them in the View with this: [self presentViewController:vc animated:YES completion:NULL]; I return tomenuViewController with this [self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES]; What I wanted is to make the ImportantViewController to be the like the parent view or the mainVIew even if I go to other Views. What I need is when ImportantViewController is presented when I go to either C1ViewController or menuViewController it wont be deallocated, or its content there will still be retained. Is it possible? And How? I don't know much about what parent and child view controllers for so I dont know what to implement in my problem. Thank you. BTW, Im using Storyboard.

The requirements have now changed so that now the XML can have more than one definition tag and reference tag. They can appear in any order, i.e definition, reference, reference, definition, reference. How can I update the XSLT to accommodate this? Probably worth mentioning that because my XSLT processor is using .NET I can only use XSLT 1.0 commands. Many thanks!

    I have a datagrid with 2 columns. One databound which display names and the other one is a hyperlink column. Column1 = databound column, Column2 = hyperlink column. column1: column2: --------------------- Name1 Modify Name2 Modify Next when i click on any of the values in Column2 i simply get redirected to a other page. This page contains 2 buttons/hyperlinks with Yes or No. (does not mather wich control, which one would bring the most easy to implement solution atm) When clicked on No it simply redirects back to the orignal page. Now the question is when i press "Yes" how exactly do i acces "Name1" (or Name2 if i press on the second modify)? Meaning if i press Yes i want to use this Name for certain opertions (xml). To put it short if i press on "modify" i want to be able to get that name associated with it (which is already displayed in the first bound column left of it). So the goal is to use that name in Xpath for example so i can make a query towards that node with that certain name. Hopefully this made some sence.

The way it works is like this: 1: You click the "delete" button in the table row for the record that you want to delete. 2: The page sends a request to the ajax page and return a successfully message of "yes" or a failure message of "no". My issue is that if I get a successful message of "yes" I want to hide the row for that record. I am having issue "finding" the row using JQuery.     so I am trying to draw some grid lines that in landscape go all the way down to the bottom, however when I switch to landscape the the graph doesn't follow and the grid lines go smaller.   • Are there alternatives to Sysinternals ADInsight?

    I had been using ADInsight from Sysinternals to trace Active Directory calls from my workstation, but the application has failed. Where previously the Active Directory events were traced and logged, now the window remains blank, whether the application is in capture mode or not. I have run as Administrator, rebooted, downloaded a new version; none of those actions has returned the program to a functional state. The Sysinternals forums don't offer much hope, since this tool is known to fail often. Is there tool that has similar functionality?   • Networking issues with Linux server (CentOS 5.3)

    I have a Linux server hosting our bug tracking software (CentOS 5.2 Kernel 2.6.18-128.4.1.el5) that I have having some strange network problems with. The machine is configured with two NICS, one for the public interface and the other for our server back end network. The problem is that after doing a service network restart I can ping the public interface and it sends anywhere from 200-500 ICMP packets and then all of a sudden I start getting a request timed out error. Strange but as soon as I connect to the private interface the ping starts working again to the public interface. I clearly have a routing issue somewhere. I have a Juniper Router with the following configuration. Interface 0/0 -- Connect subnet to the ISP at our co-location Interface 0/2 -- For our DRAC network Interface 0/3 -- The Server-backend network (plugs directly into a switch that feeds to all the NICs that are on the 10.3.20.x network. Interface 0/4 -- Plugs directly into another switch that feeds our public interfaces, that interface as all the gateways from our public ip rangs as secondary IP addresses. I hope that someone can ask the right questions that can lead me to check things and figure out what is going on. Has anyone had similar problems and what kind of things should I be checking? I'm trying it on a couple of test PCs, and so far i've had no luck. On each one, one update would install (and need a reboot), and nothing else since.   • I need to get VMWare Server running inside of a VMWare ESXi virtual machine

    Yes, I know running a virtual machine inside of a virtual machine is a bad idea. Yes, I know it will be very slow. However, our production system required VMs in VMWare server and I do not want to setup a real server for each of our developers for testing. I would like to be able to setup all of the VMWare servers (that mimic our production environment) on one ESXi server. I have found as much info as I can about this topic and I have tried what was suggested here and here. I have not been able to get any of these suggestions to work, I still get the VM cannot run inside of a VM error. If there are any other suggestions that anybody else have that would be great thanks.
