  • Multiple branch merges, stick with Subversion or move to Mercurial or Git?

    Given a situation where there are three branches, A, B and C, where A is merged to both B and C on a regular basis. From time to time B is merged to C. With Subversion, B apparently must be removed and recreated after every merge to C. This raises groans from colleagues, but would any alternative do any better? It would seem to me that Mercurial would not. Perhaps Git? Does anyone else run into this problem?

SELECT * FROM [TABLE1] WHERE [path] = 'RECEIVE' AND [src_ip] NOT LIKE '10.48.20.10' AND [src_ip] NOT LIKE '0.%' AND [src_ip] NOT LIKE '127.%' ORDER BY [date],[time] DESC; To something like this: SELECT * FROM [TABLE1] WHERE [path] = 'RECEIVE' AND [src_ip] NOT LIKE IN ('10.48.20.10','0.%','127.%', .... ) ORDER BY [date],[time] DESC;

  • Not really a quaestion...but i need help

    I have to make a process in Oracle/PLSQL.....i have to verify that the interval of time between start_date and end_date from a new row that i create must not intersect other start_dates and end_dates from other rows. Now I need to check each row for that condition and if it doesn't correspond the repetitive instruction should stop and after that to display a message such as "The interval of time given is not correct". I don't know how to make repetitive instructions in Oracle/PLSQL and I would appreciate if you would help me.

  • When open-sourcing a live Rails app, is it dangerous to leave the session key secret in source contr

    I've got a Rails app that's been running live for some time, and I'm planning to open source it in the near future. I'm wondering how dangerous it is to leave the session key store secret in source control while the app is live. If it's dangerous, how do people usually handle this problem? I'd guess that it's easiest to just move the string to a text file that's ignored by the SCM, and read it in later. Just for clarity, I'm talking about this: # Your secret key for verifying cookie session data integrity. # If you change this key, all old sessions will become invalid! # Make sure the secret is at least 30 characters and all random, # no regular words or you'll be exposed to dictionary attacks. ActionController::Base.session = { :key => '_application_session', :secret => '(long, unique string)' } And while we're on the subject, is there anything else in a default Rails app that should be protected when open sourcing a live app?

    I want to retrieve all ids within a certain timespan. The timestamps however, are stored in a different table: Table A has column my_id Table B has columns my_id, timestamp I would want something like SELECT id, time FROM (SELECT my_id AS id FROM A) q1, (SELECT timestamp AS time FROM B WHERE my_id = id) q2 ; But how can I get the value of id within a different subquery? Is there an elegant solution for this problem?

  • How to track how many times an iPhone app is opened?

    I am building an iphone app and would like to keep track of how many times it has been opened so that I can prompt the user to do certain actions after it has been opened X number of times. I have thought about storing a variable in Core Data which I update every time it is opened, but this seems like a waste since it is a singleton data, not multiple instances of an object. What is the best way to store data like this and access it without slowing down the app opening time?

  • Checking variable from a different class in C#

    Greetings- I have 2 classes. One is called "Programs" and the other is called "Logs". The class called Programs has public const string m_sEnviron = ""; near the top and I need to check what the m_sEnviron variable is set to through my class called Logs. The variable m_sEnviron will get set from a scheduler called Tidal so how can I check its value from a different class.     I'm trying to crosscheck a row that exists in two tables using a MYSQL query in phpmyadmin and then if a userID is found in both tables, insert their userID and user name into another table.   • Windows C++: LPCTSTR vs const TCHAR

    In my application i'm declaring a string variable near the top of my code to define the name of my window class which I use in my calls to RegisterClassEx, CreateWindowEx etc.. Now, I know that an LPCTSTR is a typedef and will eventually follow down to a TCHAR (well a CHAR or WCHAR depending on whether UNICODE is defined), but I was wondering whether it would be better to use this: static LPCTSTR szWindowClass = TEXT("MyApp"); Or this: static const TCHAR szWindowClass[] = TEXT("MyApp"); I personally prefer the use of the LPCTSTR as coming from a JavaScript, PHP, C# background I never really considered declaring a string as an array of chars. But are there actually any advantages of using one over the other, or does it in fact not even make a difference as to which one I choose? Thank you, in advanced, for your answers.

  • Javascript's Date.getTimezoneOffset()

    I'm trying to compare a GMT time offset from the operating system to a GMT time offset from Javascript's Date.getTimezoneOffset(). The problem is windows gives an offset based on EST while javascript gives an offset based on EDT. There is an hour difference between these two. Does anyone know how to make Javascript use the Standard Times like Windows? Thank you.

There are a list of prices and corresponding volumes that people want to purchase. Users can purchase at any price any time. My website retrieves the prices and volumes from my database every 2 seconds (I have to update the user's browser frequently to allow them to see the current market). Users' database INSERT query can be sent any time if they purchase. I used ajax to post or get data from my database (sometimes nested ajax calls). So, every 2 seconds, each user will send or retrieve data by using more than 20 database queries (in order to show a users the current prices and volumes). Also, I may have 200 users at a time. I was not using VPS before, and I got banned because of using too much CPU resources on my host. Now, I've purchased VPS*2 from a hosting servers. I have: CPU Speed: 2000 Mhz Memory: 2048 MB Disk Space: 20000 MB Bandwidth: 2000 GB Connection: 40 Mb/s Dedicated IP's 2 IP's Is this enough for my 200 users? Also, which VPS OS is suitable for me?     What is wrong with this statement? It works with sqlite and MS sql (last time i tested it) I would like a select unless there is no match with name or email. Then i would like to insert.
