    I have a network of blogs that link to each other. The problem is when I want to get the primary blog's domain. I need it for things like the the target of the logo when clicked. I can't seem to find a function in WPMU the retrieves this. I can see the value I want in the wp_site table. I could easily get it with $wpdb, but its a bit over kill, and if there is a function that can get the value already, then I want to use it.

    I have an Oracle function that dynamically creates an XML document, and returns it in a SYS.XMLTYPE value. I want to run a query from SQL Developer that calls that function and prints the document (either via a select, or dbms_output - I don't care). But all the examples/documentation seem to refer to querying XML columns in tables, and I can't seem to get the syntax right for my particular usage. I'd like something like this: declare x SYS.XMLTYPE; begin x := my_package.my_function(); select x.getclobval() from x; -- doesn't work! end; How can I print out the value of the XML type variable 'x' in the above code?

  • Why are my ActiveRecord class instance variables disappearing after the first request in development

    I have a class instance variable on one of my AR classes. I set its value at boot with an initializer and, after that, never touch it again except to read from it. In development mode, this value disappears after the first request to the web server. However, when running tests, using the console or running the production server this does not happen. # The AR class class Group < ActiveRecord::Base class << self attr_accessor :path end end # The initializer Group.path = File.join(RAILS_ROOT, "public", "etc") # First request in a view %p= Group.path #=> "/home/rails/app/public/etc" # Second request in a view %p= Group.path #=> nil Is there something about development mode that nukes instance variables from classes with each request? If so, is there a way to disable this for specific variables or classes?

    This is about formatting the messages for logging so as to subsequently be able to parse them relatively easily esp. given the extensive logging required in financial apps Typically a line in the log file is of the form TimeStamp: Module/Function: where the log string contains whatever you choose, typically you'd have some key=value paradigm or even johnny5 key {value} etc. A regex search through the log file might easily pick up Module/Function but enforcing and maintaing consistency on the log string itself for every developer on the team is often a pain The logging api's are typically ILog.LogInfo(string text, params object[] args) ILog.LogWarning(string text, params object[] args) ILog.LogError(string text, params object[] args) Looking for opinions on better logging api's to format the log messages where a regex search can be performed for Module/Function = Basket/AddItem TokenA = Value1 and TokenB = Value2 etc. without going over every developer's every logging call

Is there any way to compress that block of code to something smaller?

  • Babel Django Off By 1 Cent

    I ran into a problem today while using BabelDjango and thought I would ask if anyone has ran into anything similar. I was using the tags in my templates, {% load babel %} and then {{amount_owed|currencyfmt:"USD"}} which returned the amount_owed minus one-cent. I thought maybe the returned value was 9.949999 which should still be $9.95 but when I returned the raw value it returned "9.95". However when I formatted it using the babel tags the rsult was off by one-cent. My 9.95 returned "$9.94" Anyone have any advice where to look to troubleshoot this problem?   • problem with parsing string from excel file

    hi, i have ruby code to parse data in excel file using Parseexcel gem. I need to save 2 columns in that file into a Hash, here is my code: worksheet.each { |row| if row != nil key = row.at(1).to_s.strip value = row.at(0).to_s.strip if !parts.has_key?(key) and key.length 0 parts[key] = value end end } however it still save duplicate keys into the hash: "020098-10". I checked the excel file at the specified row and found the difference are " 020098-10" and "020098-10". the first one has a leading space while the second doesn't. I dont' understand is it true that .strip function already remove all leading and trailing white space? also when i tried to print out key.length, it gave me these weird number: 020098-10 length 18 020098-10 length 17 which should be 9....

    I have a message display field on my website that I'd like to change the value of via JS. I've been using just a textfield, disabling it, and modifying the value via a JS function (after using a little CSS to make it not look like a text field): <input type="text" id="message" style="background: white; color: black" size="50" disabled> There has to be a better way (for instance, formatting is tricky whenever the message runs over the specified size), but I can't think of it off the top of my head. Can anyone point me in a better direction? Thanks! FYI: I am doing a timer function which I'd like to look something like "HH:MM:SS | 'my message here'"

    I have the following table, which is used for storing bandings. The table is maintained via a web frontend. CREATE TABLE [dbo].[Banding]( [BandingID] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL, [ValueLowerLimitOperator] [varchar](10) NULL, [ValueLowerLimit] [decimal](9, 2) NULL, [ValueUpperLimitOperator] [varchar](10) NULL, [ValueUpperLimit] [decimal](9, 2) NULL, [VolumeLowerLimitOperator] [varchar](10) NULL The operator fields store values such as < = <=. I want to get to a position where I can use the operators values stored in the table in a case statement in a where clause. Like this. SELECT * FROM table WHERE CASE ValueLowerLimitOperator WHEN '<' THEN VALUE < X WHEN '>' THEN VALUE > X END rather than having to write mutiple case or if statements for each permutation. Does anyone have any suggestions how I can decode the operators values stored in the table as part of my query and then use them in a case/where statement?

  • Clean way to display/hide a bunch of buttons based on a ComboBox selection

    I'm writing a standalone application in VB.NET using Visual Studio 2005. I want to display/hide a bunch of Buttons based on the selected value of a ComboBox. Each selection would have a different set of Buttons to display, and I'd like to have them arranged in a nice grid. Driving a TabControl with the ComboBox value would be the kind of behavior I want, but I don't want it to look like a TabControl to the user because it might be confusing. Is there a way to do this? Basically, I'd like Selection1 of the ComboBox to show Buttons 1-4, Selection2 to show Buttons 5-11, Selection3 to show (maybe) Buttons 1, 3, 5, 6, and 8, etc., have them arranged nicely, and have the GUI show only the ComboBox and the buttons.     Im using the following code to adjust the brightness of the screen: public void SetBright(float value) { Window mywindow = getWindow(); WindowManager.LayoutParams lp = mywindow.getAttributes(); lp.screenBrightness = value; mywindow.setAttributes(lp); } But i want the brightness to be 0% for a specific time. But when i use SetBright(0.0f), i cant change it back. I made a timer that runs for a minute with 0% brightness, then turns it back to 100%. Works when i use 10% for example. But when i turn it to 0% i cant seem to wake it up again. Any ideas how to solve this?

I have been following along in Nerd Dinner and used the demo as a way to create my own app. I have created a page that lists out some food items with calories, fat, protein,etc... If I manually type the url (http://rjsfitness.net/CalorieList/Search/choc) I get the right listing. Why isn't my button click using the right routing and giving me the search results?

  • How to remove the explicit dependencies to other projects' libraries in Eclipse launch configuration

    In Eclipse it is possible to create launch configurations in a project, specifying the runtime dependencies from another project. A problem I found was that if you have a multiple project workspace, being possible that each project has its own libraries, it is easy to add explicit dependencies in a secondary project to libraries that are of another project and therefore subject to change. An example of this problem follows: proj1 +-- src +-- lib +-- jar1-v1.0.jar +-- jar2-v1.0.jar proj2 +-- src +-- proj2-tests.launch I don't have a dependency from the code in proj2/src to the libraries in proj1/lib. Nevertheless, I do have a dependency from proj2/src to proj1/src, although since there is an internal dependency in the code in proj1/src to its libraries jar1-v1.0.jar and jar2.v1.0.jar, I have to add a dependency in proj2-tests.launch to the libraries in proj1/lib. This translates to the following ugly lines in proj2-tests.launch: <listEntry value="<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?> <runtimeClasspathEntry path="3" projectName="proj1" type="1"/> "/> <listEntry value="<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?> <runtimeClasspathEntry internalArchive="/proj1/lib/jar1-v1.0.jar" path="3" type="2"/> "/> <listEntry value="<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?> <runtimeClasspathEntry internalArchive="/proj1/lib/jar2-v1.0.jar" path="3" type="2"/> "/> This wouldn't be a big problem if there wasn't the need from time to time to evolve the software, upgrade the libraries and etc. Consider the common need to upgrade the libraries jar1-v1.0.jar and jar2-v1.0.jar to their versions v1.1. Consider that you have about 10 projects in one workspace, having about 5 libraries each and about 4 launch configurations. You get a maintenance overhead in doing a simple upgrade of a library, which normally must imply changes in files for which there wasn't the need for. Or maybe I'm doing something wrong... What I would like to state is proj2 depends on proj1 and on its libraries and having this translated to simply that in the *.launch files. Is that possible?

Here's a sample of the code I'm working with now. for(var i=0; i<3; i++){ $('#tmpid'+i).click(function(){ var gid = i; alert(gid); }); } <div id="tmpid0">1al</div> <div id="tmpid1">asd</div> <div id="tmpid2">qwe</div> So what's happening is that the events are attaching properly, but the value of 'gid' is always the last incremented value of 'i'. I'm not sure how to setup the private variable in this situation.
