  • intiating lists in the constructor's initialization list

    i just moved from C to C++, and now work with lists. i have a class called "message", and i need to have a class called "line", which should have a list of messages in its properties. as i learned, the object's properties should be initialized in the constructor's initialization list, and i had the "urge" to initialize the messages list in addition to the rest of the properties (some strings and doubles). is that "urge" justified? does the list need to be initialized? thank you in advance

    I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to show all datatips for a single lineseries in a Flex 3 linechart. This chart will have multiple lines and the functionality we're looking for is when a user hovers over a line, show all datatips associated with just that series. Any help would be appreciated. showAllDataTips will not work in this case as it will display all datatips on the chart. Thanks! Rich

Printing to file would be a last resort, I would prefer a small-footprint command line tool or API that will do the job. The thing that is really annoying me is that they look the same except the list of listings doesn't leave a line gap between chapters. Here comes my doubt, 1) hash value was auto generated, if not, whats it points to?

  • Supress the Soft Keboard when an activity loads... yet again

    this.getWindow().setSoftInputMode(WindowManager.LayoutParams.SOFT_INPUT_STATE_ALWAYS_HIDDEN); Same problem that I've read on other posts. I don't want the soft keyboard to pop up when the Activity loads. The above code snippet works, however my View no longer scrolls up so that the User can still see the EditText. It scrolls without this line of code. Any ideas?

I am trying to add the MoviesController, but whenever I do I receive an error that says... "Unable to retrieve metadata for 'MvcMovie.Models.Movie' unrecognized configuration section entityFramework (C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Temp\tmp4FFB.tmp line 76)" The last thing I did before this was change the Web.config file from the end of the previous page in the tutorial.

    I have a console application which has target .NET 2.0 It is very short but full of unsafe code. I converted it to VS 2010. I run it OK. When I try to change "target framework" in properties to 3.5 or 4.0 it shows message box: TargetFrameworkMoniker: Error parsing application configuration file at line 0. XML document must have a top level element. the target then stays 2.0 anyway... Any thoughts?

I think a label is used, don't I? In Bash it would be your prompt plus "\$(parse_git_branch)". And that is very important for a good script moving forward. Days Later: Ugh, it turns out that diff-index HEAD is NOT the same as checking status against working directory clean. So will this mean another plumbing call? I surely don't have time/expertise to write my own porcelain....

    I pass text in a gridview cell with a pipe delimiter, for example "4|31.99|3", What I'd like to be able to do is format this text to show as ------------- | 4 | |£31.99 / 3%| ------------- As you can see, I need the 4 to be Bold and be on a line of it's own, the 31.99 to be a currency and the 3 to be a percentage. Can this be done in code-behind using a converter or something?

    at the moment im loading xml and i am getting error: System.Xml.XmlException: ' ', hexadecimal value 0x17, is an invalid character. Line 2762, position 16. it is easy to fix. just open xml and remove the character. but I need to know is it possible to load xml even with invalid characters and use it for parsing. and is there any downside?
