• Android ndk-build command does nothing

  I have a similar question to that posted here: Android NDK: why ndk-build doesn't generate .so file and a new libs folder in Eclipse? ...though I am running Windows 7, not Mac os. Essentially the ndk-build command is run, gives no error but doesn't create an .so file (also, since I'm on windows this should create a .dll and not an .so?). I tried running the command from the root, jni, src folders etc. but got the same result; cmd just returns to the prompter after a few seconds. I ran it again from the jni folder with NDK_LOG=1 parameter to see what was happening. Here is a portion of the transcript of the log results after running ndk-build in the jni folder (after it successfully identified the platform, etc.)... • Titanium won't run iPhone/Android Emulator

  I just installed Titanium SDK (1.5.1) and all the Android SDKs. Also, I already have iPhone SDK 4.2 installed. I downloaded KitchenSink and imported it into Titanium but whenever I try to run it on iPhone Emulator, I get this error: [INFO] One moment, building ...   Hi I have two tables one notes and one tag and I want to make the id from notes primary key to use it in the tag table, but I don't know where I do wrong. My notes id is generate from another table counter, with the function dirty_update_counter. My function for the id_notes from tag looks like this: Fun = fun() -> mnesia:write(#tag{ id_note =0}) end, mnesia:transaction(Fun). generate_Oid(TableName) when is_atom(TableName) -> F = fun() -> [Oid] = mnesia:read(tag, TableName, write), NewId = Oid#tag.id_note+1, New = Oid#tag{id_note = NewId}, mnesia:write(New), NewId end, mnesia:transaction(F). insert_n(N) when is_record(N, note) -> F = fun() -> {atomic, Id} = generate_Oid(note), New = N#note{id = Id}, mnesia:write(New), New end, mnesia:transaction(F). find_n(Id) when is_integer(Id) -> {atomic, [N]} = mnesia:transaction(fun() -> mnesia:read({note, Id}) end), N. But this function don't increment my field id_note from the table tag, despite the fact that in my note table, my id field is incremented from counter table. Thanks in advance for any help.

• Precompile asp.net webpart dll

  Hi, I have built a few custom webparts for WSS 3 using the Visual Studio 2010 Web application template. When I compile the application, Visual Studio creates the assembly file in the bin directory which I copy over later to the production server (another machine) with WSS 3. The compiled webpart dll is copied into the bin folder inside the virtual directory of WSS. I would like to precompile the webpart / dll using the aspnet_precompiler on my development machine to reduce the delay when the page is first requested. I have used the following command to precompile the entire Web Application: aspnet_precompile -v / -p PATH_TO_WEB_APPLICATION C:\WebApp -errorstack The compilation runs fine without any errors and I end up with a couple of .compiled files and also a Web_App_xxxxx.dll file inside the C:\WebApp\bin folder. From here onwards I am a bit lost how to proceed. Could you give me an advise to which folder I need to copy the compiled files on the production server? Do they need to go into the bin folder on the server or better inside the temporary asp.net folder %SystemRoot%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\versionNumber\Temporary ASP.NET Files folder? Can I precompile the Web application on a development machine without the IIS metabase? Cheers, Mathias

• Ruby rail debug output

  Hi all: I am just starting to write ruby rails. I wrote a controller but is getting wrong number of "arguments (1 for 0)" error, I can't understand why. It has no information on where the error occurred? It has a full list of stack traces but my controller file is not in there! In my controller I have just two methods, that I was going to test out activemq. But after I put the controller out, I got the above error, so I commented out all the code, but I still get the same error. I can't figure out why. I searched google for ruby debug, I have not found anything helpful. • Websphere 7 EntityManagerFactory creation problem

  Hello, I'm working on a maven project which uses seam 2.2.0, hibernate 3.5.0-CR-2 as JPA provider, DB2 as database server and Websphere 7 as application server. Now I'm facing de following problem: In my EJBs that are seen also as SEAM components I want to use the EntityManager from EJB container (@PersistenceContext private EntityManager em) not Seam's EntityManager (@In private EntityManager em). But this is the problem, I cannot obtain an EntityManager using @PersistenceContext. On server logs it sais that it cannot create an EntityManagerFactory and gets a ClassCastException: java.lang.ClassCastException: org.hibernate.ejb.HibernatePersistence incompatible with javax.persistence.spi.PersistenceProvider After a lot of debugging and searching on forums I'm assuming that the problem is that Websphere doesn't use the Hibernate JPA provider. Has anyone faced this problem and has a solution? I configured already WAS class loader order for my application to load the classes with the application class loader first and I\ve packed all necessary jars in application ear as written in: WAS InfoCenter: Features for EJB 3.0 development . If necessary I'll post my persistence.xml, components.xml files and stack trace. Both projects reference a database project which opens a connection to an MS-Access 2007 database file and have references to System.Data.OleDb. • Paypal subscriptions IPN - problem with users subscribing multiple times

  I'm using paypal subscriptions and the instant payment notification (IPN) to handle subscribers on my site. For the most part it works well but there is one occasional problem I've encountered. Usually if a user cancels their subscription, I wait for the "end of term" (subscr_eot) notification before disabling access to my site. So if they prepay for the whole month, and then cancel right away, they still have access for the rest of the month (as it should be). But some users are having this problem where they: Cancel their subscription Before the "end of term" is reached they decide to re-subscribe When the "end of term" is reached for their first subscription, my app receives the notification and fires off an email to the user with something like "your account has been disabled, if you ever want to sign up again, you can re-subscribe by clicking here". This confuses them because they are thinking...that's weird, I thought I subscribed like a week ago (and they did). So they go subscribe AGAIN. Now they have two concurrent running subscriptions to my site and I get a support email in a month or two ("wtf you billed me twice this month jerk!!") So I haven't found a good way to fix this. I guess the best solution would be to do an additional API call when the "end of term" notification is received which asks paypal "hey did this person already re-subscribe?". If so then no need to fire off that email. But I haven't seen any way to do this API call yet. Another solution is to disable their account immediately when they cancel (the "subscr_cancel" notification) but then I get different angry support emails "hey I prepaid for the whole month why was my account disabled already!!". Anyone else solved this?

• WPF Background Thread Invocation

  Maybe I'm mis-remembering how Winforms works or I'm overcomplicating the hell out of this, but here's my problem. I have a WPF client app application that talks to a server over WCF. The current user may "log out" of the WPF client, which closes all open screens, leaves only the navigation pane, and minimizes the program window. When the user re-maximizes the program window, they are prompted to log in. Simple. But sometimes things happen on background threads - like every 5 minutes the client tries to make a WCF calls that refreshes some cached data. And what if the user is logged out when this 5 minute timer triggers? Well, then the user should be prompted to log back in...and this must of course happen on the UI thread. private static ISecurityContext securityContext; public static ISecurityContext SecurityContext { get { if (securityContext == null) { // Login method shows a window and prompts the user to log in Application.Current.Dispatcher.Invoke((Action)Login); } return securityContext; } } So far so good, right? But what happens when multiple threads hit this spot of code? Well, my first intuition was that since I'm syncrhonizing across the Application.Current.Dispatcher, I should be fine, and whichever thread hit first would be responsible for showing the login form and getting the user logged in... Not the case... Thread 1 will hit the code and call ShowDialog on the login form Thread 2 will also hit the code and will call Login as soon as Thread 1 has called ShowDialog, since calling ShowDialog unblocked Thread 1 (I believe because of the way the WPF message pump works) All I want is a synchronized way of getting the user logged back into the application...what am I missing here? • Get more debug info from AxHost?

  Hello I'm trying to deploy an application which uses an library that embeds an ActiveX control with AxHost in C#. When I run the installed app on our test rig I catch and present the following exception: Unexpected exception. This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.   How can I use two cursors in the same routine? If I remove the second cursor declaration and fetch loop everthing works fine. The routine is used for adding a friend in my webapp. It takes the id of the current user and the email of the friend we want to add as a friend, then it checks if the email has a corresponding user id and if no friend relation exists it will create one. Any other routine solution than this one would be great as well. • Excel vba -get ActiveX Control checkbox when event handler is triggered

  I have an excel spreadsheet that is separated into different sections with named ranges. I want to hide a named range when a checkbox is clicked. I can do this for one checkbox, but I would like to have a single function that can hide the appropriate section based on the calling checkbox. I was planning on calling that function from the event_handlers for when the checkboxes are clicked, and to pass the checkbox as an argument. Is there a way to access the checkbox object that calls the event handler? • Double type returns -1.#IND/NaN error when calculating pi iteratively

  I am working through a problem for my MCTS certification. The program has to calculate pi until the user presses a key, at which point the thread is aborted, the result returned to the main thread and printed in the console. Simple enough, right? This exercise is really meant to be about threading, but I'm running into another problem. The procedure that calculates pi returns -1.#IND. I've read some of the material on the web about this error, but I'm still not sure how to fix it. When I change double to Decimal type, I unsurprisingly get Overflow Exception very quickly. So, the question is how do I store the numbers correctly? Do I have to create a class to somehow store parts of the number when it gets too big to be contained in a Decimal? • Session Issue in rails?

  Suppose this is my users controller:- class UsersController < ApplicationController def show @user = session[:user] end def prepare session[:user]= User.find(:first) redirect_to :action => 'show' end def update @user = session[:user] @user.name = 'rai' redirect_to :action => 'show' end end View for show.html.erb <%= @user.name %> Show page <%= link_to 'Update', :action=> 'update' %> Now Explaining the issue:--- Suppose first time user opens the browser with http://localhost:3000/users/prepare o/p will be:--- Mohit Show page Update // supposing user table has values mohit as name Now when he click on update he will get as output like this:-- rai Show page Update But this should not happen cause firstly when are at prepare action where value is fecthced from db and its mohit. and then he is redirected to show ie displying the values from session. ie mohit Now when user click on the update he is redirected to update when value from session is stored to a user instance and the name attribute of that user instance has been modified to rai. and finally redirected to show page. Now in this page when user's name is displayed its showing rai.. thats the QUESTION why?? cause session should store the same mohit value cause we havnt made any change in session..

  We've all seen the brilliant complex forms railscast where Ryan Bates explains how to dynamically add or remove nested objects within the parent object form using Javascript. Has anyone got any ideas about how these methods need to be modified so as to work with Haml Formtastic? • ClickOnce Deployment Error - Access to the Path is Denied

  I have a WPF app that I'm deploying to a network path using ClickOnce deployment. After the app is deployed to a network location, I use the ClickOnce html page to launch the installation process. I am successfully able to download and install the app. However, my users are not able to download and install the app. When a user navigates to the ClickOnce html page and clicks to begin the installation process, the following error message is received: ERROR SUMMARY Below is a summary of the errors, details of these errors are listed later in the log. * Activation of http://software.mycompany.com/myapp/myapp.application resulted in exception. Following failure messages were detected: + Downloading file://dev/webs/software/myapp/myapp.application did not succeed. * [4/5/2010 1:56:59 PM] System.Deployment.Application.DeploymentDownloadException (Unknown subtype) - Downloading file://dev/Webs/software/myapp/myapp.application did not succeed. All signs point to this being a security issue. So, I've done the following: Ensured that "Everyone" had read access to the files that were being deployed as part of my project Ensured that "Everyone" had read access to the network location where the app was deployed (//dev/webs/software/myapp) Ensured that "Everyone" had read access to the IIS path where the ClickOnce html page is located In each of these cases, I've made no progress in getting the app to successfully deploy via ClickOnce. Again, the odd thing is that I am able to successfully walk through the process of downloading and installing the app. It's my users, though, that need the ability to download and install the app. I've looked extensively on the web for answers, but there hasn't been much. I'd like to resolve the issue without "re-installing" or "rigging" anything. I need a solid answer. Thank you all for your input!! Mike

  Hello, I am developing a multithread modular application using C programming language and NPTL 2.6. For each plugin, a POSIX thread is created. The problem is each thread has its own stack area, since default stack size depends on user's choice, this may results in huge memory consumption in some cases. My questions are: 1-) Is there any portable(between UNIX variants) way to change (default)thread stack size after starting application(before creating thread of course)? 2-) Is it possible to use same stack area for every thread? 3-) Is it possible completely disable stack for threads without much pain?

• Relative path from an ASP.NET user control NavigateUrl

  I have a user control that contains a GridView. The GridView has both a HyperLinkField column and a template column that contains a HyperLink control. The ASP.NET project is structured as follows, with the Default.aspx page in each case using the user control. Application Root Controls UserControl with GridView SystemAdminFolder Default.aspx Edit.aspx OrganisationAdminFolder Default.aspx Edit.aspx StandardUserFolder Default.aspx Edit.aspx Note: The folders are being used to ensure the user has the correct role. I need to be able to set the DataNavigateUrlFormatString for the HyperLinkField and the NavigateUrl for the HyperLink to resolve to the Edit.aspx page in the corresponding folder. If I set the navigate URL to "Edit.aspx" the URL in the browser appears as 'http://Application Root/Controls/Edit.aspx' regardless of the originating directory. I can't use the Web application root operator (~/) as the path needs to be relative to the current page, not the application root. How can I use the same user control in multiple folders and resolve the URL to another page in the same folder? Note: The question is strongly based off a similar question by azhar2000s on the asp.net forums that matches my problem.

  Hi, does somebody knows how to check for a valid IMEI? I have found a function to check on this page: http://www.dotnetfunda.com/articles/article597-imeivalidator-in-vbnet-.aspx But it returns false for valid IMEI's (f.e. 352972024585360). I can validate them online on this page: http://www.numberingplans.com/?page=analysis&sub=imeinr What is the correct way(in VB.Net) to check if a given IMEI is valid? • C# - WinForms - Exception Handling for Events

  Hi all, I apologize if this is a simple question (my Google-Fu may be bad today). Imagine this WinForms application, that has this type of design: Main application - shows one dialog - that 1st dialog can show another dialog. Both of the dialogs have OK/Cancel buttons (data entry). I'm trying to figure out some type of global exception handling, along the lines of Application.ThreadException. What I mean is: Each of the dialogs will have a few event handlers. The 2nd dialog may have: private void ComboBox_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { try { AllSelectedIndexChangedCodeInThisFunction(); } catch(Exception ex) { btnOK.enabled = false; // Bad things, let's not let them save // log stuff, and other good things } } Really, all the event handlers in this dialog should be handled in this way. It's an exceptional-case, so I just want to log all the pertinent information, show a message, and disable the okay button for that dialog. But, I want to avoid a try/catch in each event handler (if I could). A draw-back of all these try/catch's is this: private void someFunction() { // If an exception occurs in SelectedIndexChanged, // it doesn't propagate to this function combobox.selectedIndex = 3; } I don't believe that Application.ThreadException is a solution, because I don't want the exception to fall all the way-back to the 1st dialog and then the main app. I don't want to close the app down, I just want to log it, display a message, and let them cancel out of the dialog. They can decide what to do from there (maybe go somewhere else in the app). Basically, a "global handler" in between the 1st dialog and the 2nd (and then, I suppose, another "global handler" in between the main app and the 1st dialog). Thanks.

  Howdy everybody, I am trying to learn rails, and I'm working on an app that uses Google for logins and also for calendar data. I'm currently working on configuring authlogic-oauth and having some issues. I've been following the guide for the authlogic-oauth (see link above) plugin, and I'm on steps 4 and 5. First off, I am still learning the language and I'm not sure where the code from step 4 goes in the controllers: @user_session.save do |result| if result flash[:notice] = "Login successful!" redirect_back_or_default account_url else render :action = :new end end Secondly, I'm trying to set up step 5, the actual Google oauth data step: class UserSession < Authlogic::Session::Base def self.oauth_consumer OAuth::Consumer.new("TOKEN", "SECRET", { :site="http://google.com", :authorize_url = "http://google.com/xxx" }) end end I'm not entirely sure where I find the info I need to fill this in. I've been reading hxxp://code.google.com/apis/accounts/docs/OAuth_ref.html (sorry I can only post one hyperlink), but I'm just not sure where I get everything and what the plugin handles for itself. Finally, I'm not quite sure how I retrieve the calendar info, I've just been told I could by someone on IRC. Do I do it through this plugin or do I have to use another one as well? Thanks so much!
