• Segmentation fault while feeding in an mpeg file through ffmpeg

  Hi, I've set up FFserver as the streaming server. I'm trying to feed in an mpeg file. But it comes up with a segmentation fault. Does anyone know how to fix this?   I have a problem which I have been bashing my head against for the better part of three hours. I am almost certain that I've missed something blindingly obvious... I suspect it might have something to do with the fact that it's XML deserialization rather than Runtime deserialization, and perhaps I am using the wrong attribute name, but I can't find out what it might be.   Hi, I am implementing a full text search API for my rails apps, and so far have been having great success with Thinking Sphinx. I now want to implement a date range search, and keep getting the "bad value for range" error. Basically I am trying to have the API request pass in a "since" date to see all posts after a certain date. I am specifying that the date should be in the YYYY-MM-DD format. Thanks for your help. Chris EDIT: I just changed the date parameters merge statement to this @search_options.merge!(:with = {:post_date = d.to_date..DateTime.now}) and now I get this error undefined method `to_i' for Tue, 25 May 2010:Date So obviously there is something still not setup right...

• PHP strtotime() looks like it is expecting a Euro format

  I've been using PHP's strtotime() method to accept a date field on a form. I love how powerful it is, in how it will accept "Tomorrow", "Next Thursday", or (supposedly) any date representation and convert it to the Unix timestamp. It's been working great -- until yesterday. Someone entered "2-4-10" and instead of logging Feb 4th, 2010, it logged April 10, 2002! So it expected Y-M-D instead of M-D-Y. I thought maybe the problem was just using a 2-digit year, so we tried again with "2-4-2010". That logged April 2nd, 2010! At that point I just don't understand what strtotime() is doing. PHP.net says it expects a US English date format. Why then would it assume D-M-Y? Is there a way around this? Or do I have to stop using strtotime()? Note: I just now did a test. When you use slashes instead of hyphen/dashes, it works fine, even with 2/4/10. Why on earth does that matter? And if that's all it is, should I just run str_replace("-", "/", $input) on the form input before passing it to strtotime()?

  We have developed an ASP.NET website on a Windows 7 - 32 bit platform using Visual Studio 2008. This website is being hosted at a hosting company where we share a server with hundreds of other ASP.NET websites. We are in the process of changing our hosting to a dedicated Windows 2008 - 64 bit server. We have installed Visual Studio on this new server in order to debug our application. If we try to start the application on this new server using Visual Studios 2008's own web server (not IIS 7) we get the error below. We have tried to compile the application in both 32 as well as 64 bit mode. We also tried to compile to "Any CPU". But nothing helps. For the first 20 I do: averageThingMonthValue = ThingMonth.objects.filter(turbine__in=things[:20],timestamp__range="2009-01-01 00:00","2010-03-00:00")).aggregate(Avg('ThingMonthValue'))['ThingMonthValue__avg'] This works fine, and returns the desired value. For the last 5 I do: averageThingMonthValue = ThingMonth.objects.filter(turbine__in=things[20:],timestamp__range="2009-01-01 00:00","2010-03-00:00")).aggregate(Avg('ThingMonthValue'))['ThingMonthValue__avg'] But for this I get an SQL error: 'Only one expression can be specified in the select list when the subquery is not introduced with EXISTS.' • git doesn't show where code was removed.

  So I was tasked at replacing some dummy code that our project requires for historical compatibility reasons but has mysteriously dropped out sometime since the last release. Since disappearing code makes me nervous about what else might have gone missing but un-noticed I've been digging through the logs trying to find in what commit this handful of lines was removed. I've tried a number of things including "git log -S'add-visit-resource-pcf'", git blame, and even git bisect with a script that simply checks for the existence of the line but have been unable to pinpoint exactly where these lines were removed.   I'm having trouble following this guide to "extract" my interfaces and entities from my EAR to use them from another Web Application: I use NetBeans 6.8 and Glassfish 3.0.1 "Java Class Library" project contains all the entities and interfaces "Java EE Application" project class library added to the project, is packaged into the EAR contains EJB implementations, MDBs, Test "Java Web Application" project class library added to the project, is packaged into the WAR contains REST interface When I build and deploy the Web Application, all goes well. When I build the JEE application, I can see the jar-file (interfaces, entities) being included. • Unable to run native C++ application on different machine

  Hi, I wrote a simple 'Hello, world' application in C++ using Visual Studio 2008. I am able to run the app successfully on my local machine. BUt when I copy the exe onto another machine and run, it does not run. It gives the error that 'Application has failed to start because application configuration is incorrect'.   I'm using python 2.6.4 and discovered that I can't use gzip with subprocess the way I might hope. • Which tools to use and how to find file descriptors leaking from Glassfish?

  We release new code to production every week and Glassfish hasn't had any problems. This weekend we had to move racks at our hosting provider. There were not any code changes (they just powered off, moved, re-racked and powered on) but we're on a new network infrastructure and suddenly we're leaking file descriptors like a sieve. So I'm guessing there is some sort of connection attempting to be made which now fails due to a network change. I'm running Glassfish v2ur2-b04/AS9.1_02 on RHEL4 with an embedded IMQ instance. I have no idea what these sockets are. I've undeployed my application so there is only a plain Glassfish instance running and I still see it leaking 12 file descriptors a minute. So I think this leak is in Glassfish or potentially IMQ. What approach should I take to tracking down these sockets of unknown protocol? What tools can I use (or flags can I pass to lsof) to get more information about where to look? thanks, chuck
