Flex 4 DataGrid in MDIWindow(flexlib)

Hi! I want to add DataGrid into MDIWindow which is in flexlib. The DataGrid is created in a module and using addChild() function add to a MDIWindow. This MDIWindow is called maximize() after windowManager.add(). I tried to set width of column but when it become maximize the width changes. I've no idea how to set width. Could you give me a hand? MVC2 DataAnnotations validation with inheritance

Hi, I have a .NET 2.0 class the properties of which are marked virtual.I need to use the class as a model in a MVC2 application. So, I have created a .NET 3.5 class inheriting from the .NET 2.0 class and added the DataAnnotations attributes to the overriden properties in the new class. A snippet of what I have done is below // .NET 2.0 class public class Customer { private string _firstName = ""; public virtual string FirstName { get { return _firstName; } set { _firstName = value; } } } // .NET 3.5 class public class MVCCustomer : Customer { [Required(ErrorMessage="Firstname is required")] public override string FirstName { get { return base.FirstName; } set { base.FirstName = value; } } } I have used the class as the model for a MVC2 view using the HtmlFor helpers. Serverside validation works correctly but the client side validation does not. Specifically the validation error is not displayed on the page. What am I missing, or is it only possible to do this using buddy classes. Thanks.

I have a ViewModel, it takes two parameters in the constructor that are of the same type: public class CustomerComparerViewModel { public CustomerComparerViewModel(CustomerViewModel customerViewModel1, CustomerViewModel customerViewModel2) { } } public class CustomerViewModel { public string FirstName { get; set; } public string LastName { get; set; } } If I wasn't using IOC I could just new up the viewmodel and pass the sub-viewmodels in. I could package the two viewmodels into one class and pass that into the constructor but if I had another viewmodel that only needed one CustomerViewModel I would need to pass in something that the viewmodel does not need. How do I go about dealing with this using IOC? I'm using Ninject btw. Thanks

TFS Load Testing Web Tests

I am configuring a load test and am curious/confused on settings. I am testing an intranet website, that is expected to have 6000 concurrent users. My employer had some previous consultant tell them that the load test users does not matter and that we need to worry about requests/second. They have previously determined that those 6000 users would generate 30 rps, while I feel that is not correct we need to show that we can exceed that number. The previous load test was set for only 200 users and the results showed that it did exceed the 200 rps. They were happy with the results, but that is not how I understand this. My question is, if we need to support 6000 concurrent users should I just set my users to 6000 and run, or is the rps an adequate piece of data to rely on? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

How to use Win32 SetCursor() with WPF resource and HwndHost

We have an HwndHost UIElement in our WPF application which is used to display Direct3d graphics, and the only way I have found to set a cursor for the HwndHost UIElment is to call the Win32 API SetCursor(). All of our cursors are resources in managed assemblies, and I would prefer to not change that, but I have not been able to find a way to load one of these cursors via any Win32 APIs like LoadImage(). Does anybody know how to get a handle(hCursor) to a cursor which is a resource in a managed assembly? Or, is there another way to set a cursor on an HwndHost displaying Direct3D graphics?

We are getting the error above on some pages of an ASP.NET MVC application when it is deployed to a 64 bit Windows 2008 server box. It works fine on our development machines, though these are 32 bit XP. Just wondered if anyone had encountered this before, and has any suggestions? Details as follows: Bad binary signature. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131192) Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Exception Details: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Bad binary signature. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131192) All projects are set to compile for Any CPU, and are compiled in Release mode. The ASP.NET site is precompiled, and the precompiled build is on a 64 bit Windows 2008 TeamCity build agent. Thanks in advance. EDIT We're still plagued by this. I have looked at all the binaries in the website's bin directory using corflags.exe. None has the 32BIT flag set, and all have a CorFlags value of 9 except for Antlr3.Runtime.dll which has a value of 1. The problem only affects certain pages, and it seems to be those which use FluentValidation (including FluentValidation.Mvc and FluentValidation.xValIntegration assemblies). None of these shows anything out of the ordinary when inspected with corflags.exe, and there are no odd looking dependencies revealed by ildasm. When built locally (32 bit Windows XP) the site deploys and runs fine. When built on the build agents (64 bit Windows 2008 Server) the site displays these errors. Hi i want implement a windows services scheduled task. I already created windows service. In a service i have implemented a timer.The timer is initialized at class interval. The timers interval is set in the start method of service and also it is enabled in the start method of the service. After timers elapsed event is fire i have done some actions. My problem is that, i am in a dilemma. Lets say the action i have done in Elapsed event, lets say take one hour and the timers interval is set to half an hour. so there are chances that even if the previous call to elapsed event has not ended new call to elapsed event will occur. my question will there be any conflict or is it ok or shall i use threads. please give some advice

Run both Authorize Filter and Action Filter on unauthenticated ASP.NET MVC request

I have decorated my base controller with a couple of action filters. They work fine. One of those filters sets up the request - does things like set the culture based on the domain, etc. I also have a handful of actions that require authorization using the Authorize attribute. My problem is that when an user attempts to request a page they are not authorized to access, the authorization filter kicks in and redirects them to a page telling them that they cannot vie the page. The issue is that the action filters never run so the culture and other request data is never set. This effectively causes language to be wrong in the view and other data to be missing. I know that authorization filters run first but my question is this: How can I design this such that I can ensure that certain methods are always run before the view is returned, regardless of the authorization. Hope that makes sense.

WCF- Large Data

I have a WCF Web Service with basicHTTPBinding , the server side the transfer mode is streamedRequest as the client will be sending us large file in the form of memory stream. But on client side when i use transfer mode as streamedRequest its giving me a this errro "The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request" And when i look in to trace information , i see this as the error message Exception: There is a problem with the XML that was received from the network. auto-scaling size with anchors - overlapping controls

I'm having some trouble with resizing and scaling of controls in a windows form. I've set anchors up so that the controls stay in ratio with the form, which works great. However, perhaps i was expecting too much when i thought that the control origin points would also scale and change with the form scaling, but this is not the case and i'm finding my controls overlapping. here's some screenshots; anyone know of an approach i can take to solve this problem? perhaps i need to set control origins to dynamic drawing points that scale, but then do these redraw on scaling the form, or only on creation?

Calling WebMethods / WebService using jquery is blocking

Hi, I'm generating a file on the server which takes some time. For this, I have a hidden iframe which I then set the .src attribute to an aspx file i.e iframe.src = "/downloadFile.aspx" While this is taking place, I'd like to have a call to a web service return the progress. To do this, I thought I could use window.setInterval or window.setTimeout but Javascript seems to be blocked as soon as I set the iframe src attribute. Does anyone know how to get around this or perhaps try a different approach? I have also tried handlers, but the request never gets to the server so I'm assuming is a browser/javascript issue.

I have to different ISPs, each on each own network. The main connects via ethernet and the secondary via wifi. The two networks have no relation at all. I just connect to them simultaneously. The reason I want to load balance between them is to achieve higher Internet speeds. Note: I have no advanced network hardware. I have googled for this issue but listed solutions are not working for me... I get the following error message: Procedure or function 'ContactHide' expects parameter '@ContactID', which was not supplied. Here is my setup..What am I missing? Please help? Interpolating Large Datasets On the Fly

Interpolating Large Datasets I have a large data set of about 0.5million records representing the exchange rate between the USD / GBP over the course of a given day. I have an application that wants to be able to graph this data or maybe a subset. For obvious reasons I do not want to plot 0.5 million points on my graph. What I need is a smaller data set (100 points or so) which accurately (as possible) represents the given data. Does anyone know of any interesting and performant ways this data can be achieved? Using PDF in iPad

Has Anyone tried using PDF in iPad Application, using CGPDf functions. I have used this in iPhone and it works perfectly , but when i use the same code in iPad , the Page are Shrunk in size, after a try outs i set the Scale as follows CGContextScaleCTM(context,1.85, -1.80); This time the it fits the screen perfectly , but that was just a trial and error , why does it not fit the screen as in iPhone, i have set the view size correctly too. Turning off IE8 Compatibility Mode, Good or Bad?

Hopefully this question isn't as subjective as I think it may be. I have an Intranet application which needs to work with IE8 as the enterprise is replacing IE6 as the standard browser. Our testing team found that it did not work in IE8, little did they know that it actually did. Their browsers were set to run IE8 in compatibility mode for Intranet applications. I found that if I set the meta tag for X-UA-Compatible to IE=EmulateIE8 that I could force the browser to render this application as IE8 and the application worked fine. Are there any pitfalls that I don't know about for this solution? If so, is there a better solution?
