  • IWebBrowser: How to specify the encoding when loading html from a stream?

    Using the concepts from the sample code provided by Microsoft for loading HTML content into an IWebBrowser from an IStream using the web browser's IPersistStreamInit interface: HRESULT LoadWebBrowserFromStream(IWebBrowser* pWebBrowser, IStream* pStream) { [snip] } How can one specify the encoding of the html inside the IStream? The IStream will contain a series of bytes, but the problem is what do those bytes represent? They could, for example, contain bytes where: each byte represents a character from the current Windows code-page (e.g. 1252) each byte could represent a character from the ISO-8859-1 character set the bytes could represent UTF-8 encoded characters every 2 bytes could represent a character, using UTF-16 encoding In my particular case, i am providing the IWebBrowser an IStream that contains a series of double-bytes characters (UTF-16), but the browser (incorrectly) believes that UTF-8 encoding is in effect. This results in garbled characters.

  • ASP.net Error in Design Mode

    I just switched to VS 2010, and upgraded a previous project. I'm getting the following error on a page in design mode for 2 controls: Error Creating Control - ObjectName Object reference not set to an instance of an object. One of them is a simple label, and the other is a ajax update panel. Other pages look fine. When I build and test the app, the page renders fine in the browser and functions fine - the label functions as expected and the content in the update panel works as expected. Any ideas why I'm getting this error? I tried some of the google results to no avail. It'd be great to get this out of the way. Thanks!

  • IE8 won't load JavaScript file in "Compatibility View."

    Here's my JS insert: <script type="text/javascript" src="include/profile.js"></script> In IE8 with "Compatibility View," the file never loads. The first line in the file is a simple alert() call, so that I know it loaded. Change the browser to Standards View, and it loads fine. Also, if I add: <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=100" > It forces to Standards View and it loads fine. Any idea why this would be the case? I've not been able to test against IE7, but I know the JS file also does not load in IE6. Right now the tag is in the section of the file.

My problem is I want user create template from the admin panel, it means all template will be stored into database including all Dwoo variable and functions.My questions: Is it possible to load dwoo template from database? How to parse dwoo variable or function from database?   • Anchor bug on IE9, anchor hitbox overlapped

    The menu below works just fine in Firefox and Chrome, but in IE9, but hitbox for the "HOME" anchor is being covered partially by the list item behind it except for the actual test, and a single horizontal pixel line at the top and bottom of the button. Can anyone see what I'm missing? Simply adding a background image fixes the issue. The code is set up so it styles so the hit boxes for all the menu items are the same regardless if there's a link in them or not to facilitate an "onClick" drop down on those menu items without anchors. Refer to lines 81 - 86. Remove those lines (just a background image), and the hit box issue is seen in the menu items "NOT A LINK" as well. Further, the act of adding a background image fixes the hit box issue of "THIS IS A LINK" menu items. Simply add the following snippet to the CSS: .menu-navigation > li > span > a { background:url("../img/down.png") no-repeat right center; } Adding a background image, even if there is no actual image, is changing something with regards to the hit box...     I'm enabling Joomla SEF , and get the following results when I link to an article from a homepage (frontpage) article: anywebsite.com/component/content/article/26/141-Z1-Z2-Z3-Z4 but when linking from other articles I get the result I want which is : anywebsite.com/Categor/141-Z1-Z2-Z3-Z4 and the link is both equal which is : index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=141:Z1-Z2-Z3-Z4&catid=26 any idea?! Edit: Does manually linking with this SEF link is a good idea , instead of waiting for joomla to convert it .. ? atleast as a last resort?

    Developing a community site where everyone can post text, I'm looking for a markup filter: What is not part of the markup must be escaped (htmlspecialchars()) as it is. Should turn URL-s automatically into links Should support some form of basic markups (bold, image, url, pre, list) Should have a simple parser, that turns user input text into HTML Content on the site is public to everyone, XSS must not allowed to happen. What do you suggest? What markup language in the first place? BBCode? Wiki? Markdown? Are there any complete API-s with good examples? PHP is available on the server side. If there is a WYSIWYG-like texarea in addition (like here on SO) that would be a fantastic bonus!

    Hello, I need to create a Dialog / Prompt including TextBox for user input. My problem is, how to get the text after having confirmed the dialog? Usually I would make a class for this which would save the text in a property. However I want do design the Dialog using XAML. So I would somehow have to extent the XAML Code to save the content of the TextBox in a property - but I guess that's not possible with pure XAML. What would be the best way to realize what I'd like to do? How to build a dialog which can be defined from XAML but can still somehow return the input? Thanks for any hint!

    I am working in JTable and I have a requirement like this. Say There are 4 columns namely 10,20,30,40 Now the value usually comes like 10-20 20-30 and 30-40 So it was easy for us to display the name for this range. But recently the values have started to come randomly like 15-25 10-25,25-30 In this case our JTable should dynamically adjust the size of the row such that it represents that range only meaning it should not disturb the existing cells and only rows which diverge from the normal range. TO be more precise I should be able to merge and split cells based on the content of the cell.

    Hello everyone: This is a CSS related question, I got one good answer from my previous question, which suggested to use some CSS code like overflow:auto together with a fixed height container. And here is my actual implementation : on uni server Please follow the instructions on screen and buy more than 4 kinds of tickets. If you are using IE8, Opera, Safari, Chrome, you would notice that the lower right corner of the page now has a vertical scroll bar, which scrolls the content inside it and prevent it from overflowing. That's what I want to have in this section. Now the problem is, this would not do in FireFox 3.6.2. Am I doing something not compliant to the CSS standard or FireFox has its own way of overflow control? You can inspect the elements on screen, and all controlling functions are done in one javascript using jQuery. All CSS code are kept in a separated file as well. According to the professor, FireFox would be the target browser, although the version was set to 2.0...

    I am reading an audio file using CoreAudio (Extended Audio File Read Services). The audio data gets converted to 4-byte float and handed to me as a void* buffer. It can be played with Audio Queue Services, so its content is correct. Next, I want to draw a waveform and thus need access to the actual samples. So, I cast void* audioData to float*: Float32 *floatData = (Float32 *)audioData; When accessing this data however, I only get 0.0 regardless of the index. Float32 value = floatData[index]; // Is always zero for any index Am I doing something wrong with the cast?

  • TreeView nodes always have .Checked=true on postback even when not checked in UI

    I have a treeview in my .aspx: <asp:TreeView ID="tvDocCatAndType" runat="server" /> Not much else going on in the page -- two <asp:LinkButtons> and one <asp:Label>; the page is a child of a master page, so these controls are within a <asp:Content> control. I populate the treeview in code -- just 3 node levels, including the root node. All nodes have checkboxes, and I initialize all node.Checked to true. I have some Javascript to do the usual check/uncheck up and down the tree as parent and child node checkboxes are toggled. No matter how many checkboxes I clear in the UI, on postback every single node has node.Checked = true regardless of the state of the checkbox in the UI. This is not the first time I've used a treeview, but I've never had this problem before. I created this page by light adaptation of an earlier project that works fine.     I have search strings, similar to the one bellow: energy food "olympics 2010" Terrorism OR "government" OR cups NOT transport and I need to parse it with PHP5 to detect if the content belongs to any of the following clusters: AllWords array AnyWords array NotWords array These are the rules i have set: If it has OR before or after the word or quoted words if belongs to AnyWord. If it has a NOT before word or quoted words it belongs to NotWords If it has 0 or more more spaces before the word or quoted phrase it belongs to AllWords. So the end result should be something similar to: AllWords: (energy, food, "olympics 2010") AnyWords: (terrorism, "government", cups) NotWords: (Transport) What would be a good way to do this?

    Is there a way to dynamically change the WebResponseFormat on a method given a parameter passed by the client? I default my WebResponseFormat to XML, but I want to give the client the opportunity to specify a format as JSON or XML and if none is specified, default to XML. Currently I am doing the following: [WebGet(UriTemplate = "objects", BodyStyle = WebMessageBodyStyle.Bare)] [OperationContract] List<SampleObject> GetObjects(); The user can call it via: http://localhost/rest/myservice/objects They then can specify a format by doing: http://localhost/rest/myservice/objects?format=json The problem is that when I try to set the response content type via: WebOperationContext.Current.OutgoingResponse.ContentType = "application/json"; That just returns the XML but the browser attempts to process it like a JSON object instead of serializing the response as JSON. Is this even possible with .NET 3.5 outside of using a Stream as the return value and serializing the response myself? If not, is there a better solution?

  • IE page redirect hanging

    My app does a POST to my local server to create a new DOM element, comes back and should redirect to the same page with the new element. The problem is when it gets back from the server, the app hangs for almost 2 minutes before doing the redirect. I've isolated the issue to the fact that IE seems to have trouble with my tree structure of 100+ DOM elements, and I can see in HTTPWatch that it sits in a "Blocked" call for the 2 minutes before doing the redirect. Our temporary workaround is to set the inner-html of the tree structure to an empty string before submitting, thus eliminating the heavy DOM lifting, but we shouldn't need to do this (firefox has no trouble with the redirect). Question 1: Is there a better fix for this issue? Question 2: Why does ANY page care about the content before a redirect if it's going to be refreshed anyway? Thanks yall //sw

    In OpenGL Renderer onDrawFrame is called several time, until the page is completely rendered. I cannot find an event that my page is completeley rendered in order to take a snapshot of the OpenGL page and animate it. I have the solution to take snapshot on at the animation trigger (specific button), but this will imply a specific delay, until Bitmap is created, such as i would like to keep in memory a mutable copy of every page. Do you know other way to animate GLSurfaceView with rendered content?     Hi, This is a powershell/AD/Exchange question.... I'm running a script against a number of Users to check some of their attributes however I'm having trouble getting this to output to CSV. The script runs well and does exactly what I need it to do, the output on screen is fine, I'm just having trouble getting it to directly export to csv. The input is a comma seperated txt file of usernames (eg "username1,username2,username3") I've experimented with creating custom ps objects, adding to them and then exporting those but its not working.... Any suggestions gratefully received..   • Django admin causes high load for one model...

    In my Django admin, when I try to view/edit objects from one particular model class the memory usage and CPU rockets up and I have to restart the server. I can view the list of objects fine, but the problem comes when I click on one of the objects. Other models are fine. Working with the object in code (i.e. creating and displaying) is ok, the problem only arises when I try to view an object with the admin interface. The class isn't even particularly exotic: class Comment(models.Model): user = models.ForeignKey(User) thing = models.ForeignKey(Thing) date = models.DateTimeField(auto_now_add=True) content = models.TextField(blank=True, null=True) approved = models.BooleanField(default=True) class Meta: ordering = ['-date'] Any ideas? I'm stumped. The only reason I could think of might be that the thing is quite a large object (a few kb), but as I understand it, it wouldn't get loaded until it was needed (correct?).
