• jQuery UI 1.8.13 sudden error

  We have been using Jquery from this link http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.8.13/jquery-ui.min.js for drag and drop. Suddenly we notice it is not working now and there is no code change done our side. We notice the error is pointing to these line and error is TypeError: a.curCSS is not a function?   Questions in the title. I've always wondered and failed to find out from the jQuery source. How this is done. To reiterate. In jQuery: how does the "$" become a function e.g."$()" as well as an object "$." • avoid caching of page in browser

  I am using an iframe to show the child pages.In that one one particular page contains hidden div and i am showing it as a pop-up like thing with javascript by changing the visibility of the hidden div. Problem is before showing the hidden div , some manipulations are done at server level and I am calling the div from C# code after the manipulations like Page.ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(GetType(), "MyKey", "javascript:OpenModelPopup('cb','cs');", true); so the page is getting posted back and the div is shown. after this, after going to next page if i click browser back it shows that page with that hidden div and on next click of browser back gives the page without hidden div. but I want to show only the initial stage of the page ie. without showing the hidden div that stage with hidden div should not be cached or it should not be shown on click of browser back.

  Which of these lines is more understandable, faster jsPerf, easier to maintain?: arr = bol ? [[-2,1],[-1,2]] : [[-1,0],[-1,1]]; //or arr = [[[-1,0],[-1,1]], [[-2,1],[-1,2]]][bol*1]; I usually write code for computers (not for humans), but this is starting to be a problem when I am not the only one maintaining the code and work for a team. I am unsure, the first example looks neat but are two different arrays, and the second is a single array and seem to transmit what is being done easier. I also considered using an if-else, but I don't like the idea of writing two arr = .... Or are there better options? I need serious guidance, I have never worried about others seeing my code.

  Hi, I have an ASP.NET 2.0 webapp (with C#). I wanted to add a button which, when clicked would highlight selected text. By 'highlight', I mean change the CSS properties of the text so that it can stand out. I think this can be done with some clientside JavaScript. I know that you can assign a Javascript function to the onclick event of an HTML input button, but since I'm not very proficient at JS the function itself I have no idea how to write... • How do I set up gaeunit 2.0a with my Django app?

  I am trying to set up Google App Engine unit testing for my web application. I downloaded the file from here. I followed the instructions in the readmen by copying the directory gaeunit into the directory with the rest of my apps and registering 'gaeunit' in settings.py. This didn't seem sufficient to actually get things going. I also stuck url('^test(.*)', include('gaeunit.urls')) into my urls.py file. When I go to the url http://localhost:8000/test, I get the following error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '../../gaeunit/test' Any suggestions? I'm not sure what I've done wrong. Thanks!

• Is it possible to make an online registration process for a course in Google Docs with a cap on registrations?

  I am trying to build an online registration form for an institute I intern at that is running a training programme with multiple courses and hundreds of applicants. I've done registration forms with Google Docs Forms before, but the tricky spot this time round is that I'm trying to put a registration cap on each of the courses. Every person needs to register for one course in every timeslot, and there are seven or so timeslots. However, as seating space in every venue is limited, we would like to cap registrations per course (venue) to 200 per course, after which either a) the applicant will be informed that they need to register for another course in that timeslot if they apply to a full course, or b) ideal case scenario, the option will be greyed out. Is this possible using Google Docs Forms at all? If not, is there a free alternative that might do the job properly?

• nested list comprehension using intermediate result

  I am trying to grok the output of a function which doesn't have the courtesy of setting a result code. I can tell it failed by the "error:" string which is mixed into the stderr stream, often in the middle of a different conversion status message. I have the following list comprehension which works, but scans for the "error:" string twice. Since it is only rescanning the actual error lines, it works fine, but it annoys me I can't figure out how to use a single scan. Here's the working code: errors = [e[e.find('error:'):] for e in err.splitlines() if 'error:' in e] The obvious (and wrong) way to simplify is to save the "find" result errors = [e[i:] for i in e.find('error:') if i != -1 for e in err.splitlines()] However, I get "UnboundLocalError: local variable 'e' referenced before assignment". Blindly reversing the 'for's in the comprehension also fails. How is this done? THanks. Kent

• Jquery mobile function calls before Ajax Request end

  Here is my problem. When My Home page shows, I call the LoadUser functions, which on success, sets the globalUser variable with the returned json, and after it loads I call the alert function but it says globalUser is undefined. I have tried many other work arounds, but I always get the undefined mesage. • Mercurial: Recommended way of sending a whole repository to someone

  I have done some programming and I have used Mercurial for source control. I now need to send all of my code to someone else (because they are going to take over). Since all copies of a mercurial repository is a full and real repository my first thought is to first do a clone of my repository without an update and then zipping and emailing that clone. Is this a good way, or is there a better way? For example when using the TortoiseHg Repository Explorer I can right-click on a changeset and under Export there are various options that looks like they could be doing something interesting, but I don't quite understand them or know which one to use.

  Hi all, On a Salesforce.com opportunity I have a number of custom fields that are potential options that the end client will eventually select. Option 1 (Desc Field) Option 1 (Value) Option 2 (Desc Field) Option 2 (Value) Option 3 (Desc Field) Option 3 (Value) At a future point the user will ultimately choose one of the options as the preferred option. What I want is then the value for the chosen option to be stored in another field without the user having to enter it again.   I would like to write a simple program in c++. After the program is done i would like to get my answers in form of a graph or picture that would give some certain information if i click on a certain area. i have only written console apllications in c++ before and don't really have a clue where to start with the graphic part of it all. Can I write the first part of the program in console mode and some how run it under the WIN32 later? for ex what will happen to the cout<<"foo"; commands? Is there a simpler approach to do some very basic graphic programming.

  I'm developing a class library. Need some data from internet and this cannot be done with HttpWebRequest in my case so I wanna use WebBrowser component. WebBrowser is used for opening a single page and fetch some data from it, so WebBrowser life-time is very short. Running thread is MTA and no message pump or STA thread is available by default (class library is used by an ASP.NET application). How to create a WebBrowser object, run it with a STA thread, fetch data from a web page and finally dispose it with the least performance impact on the application ?   I would like to draw a rectangle around a video playing on my screen. For example, I am watching a YouTube video in my browser. I would like to be able to take a screenshot, analyze that screenshot, and then draw a rectangle around where the YouTube video is playing. I have just started looking into how I might be able to to this. I came across OpenCV. I understand that OpenCV covers many computer vision techniques. Would any of them be particularly well suited for this task? Also, is this something that can be done in real time? Finally, is there a technique that would work for both in browser and full screen?   I find some iphone book apps have such feature: One screen one page of text without scrolling. The text can just fit into the whole screen with linebreaks and indentations. I'm curious of how to implement this. How could I decide the length of text that just fit into the screen. And also, given the whole text, I can calculate out the number of pages. If this is not possible to be done on iPhone(runtime?), then is it possible to process the text before storing it in app? I mean I calculate how many pages I need(how to split the raw text), probably how many lines per page.

  I am attempting to use a few of the simple android examples for Tab Views. One thing i am attempting to do different than all the examples i've seen so far, is to not use a TabActivity. I am trying to use a normal activity, which means i need to retrieve the TabHost object some how, so i can add tabs and etc to it. How can this be done? If you wanted to retrieve a view, you can simply use findViewById(R.id.blah), but how can you retrieve the TabHost object in a similar manner?

With this we have just created a repository in a network folder (by just right clicking - TortiseSVN - create repository) , than all we have done is our developers have checked out from this directory. How do we go about doing this in xcode. I know subversion is integrated with xcode and I am pretty confident of doing everything (from tutorials) except for the creation of the repository.   Well basically I have a scraping application. It scrapes around n items per minute. currently i have only one IP. The site i'm scraping allows me 3 connections per IP. I'm thinking about getting another IP. so i'll be able to get 6 connections. in theory i should be able to get n items in 40 seconds, more or less. currently i'm using java (commons-httpcore) to get the job done. I'm not sure if this is java question or an OS question. my machine has IP 1 and IP 2 how do i connect to, say, www.microsoft.com, using IP 1 and using IP2? how can i specify, which ip i want to use to do a connection?

  For example, I would like to animate a view such that it moves down in the y direction while decelerating, and at the same time it undergoes an alpha change linearly. The code would look something like this: myView.animate().translationY(100).setDuration(1000).setInterpolator(new DecelerateInterpolator()); myView.animate().alpha(1).setDuration(1000).setInterpolator(new LinearInterpolator()); This does not work of course because the LinearInterpolator overwrites the DecelerateInterpolator. Is there a way to have one interpolator for the translation part of the animation and a different interpolator for the alpha part? I am aware that this can be accomplished using ObjectAnimator or an AnimationSet, but my question is about whether it can be done using the much cleaner ViewPropertyAnimator.

  i have a mini blog app, and a 'timeline' . there i want to be displayed all the posts from all the friends of a user, plus the posts of that user himself. For that, i have to make some kind of a 'join' between the results of two queries (queries on the same table) , so that the final result will be the combination of the user - posesor of the account, and all his friends. My query looks like this: blog = New.objects.filter(created_by = following,created_by = request.user) By that ',' i wanted to make a 'join' -i found something like this on a doc- but this method is not correct- i'm getting an error.   I've looked around and can't quite grasp the whole answer to this SQL query question needed to extract data from an MS Access 2000 table.
