  • Does content always have to be in chronological order in an RSS feed?

    I run a site where users can upload content that is displayed in a gallery where other users can sort and filter that content. While implementing RSS feeds, I was wondering how common it was for an RSS feed to display items in an order that's different from chronological. For example, displaying content by Most Views first. This could be useful for someone wanting to keep tabs on trending content. How do RSS readers handle this, since most RSS feeds are ordered chronologically?

  • What is the easiest to transfer an object between two C# apps over the web?

    I have written an application that basically gathers up a bunch of text and numerical data from the client PC and stores it as an object. Right now I'm implementing XML serialization so that the file can be saved. The issue is now, how do I get this data to the server? I have a server running IIS 7 setup but I don't quite understand the ASP.net life cycle, so I'm not sure how to implement the receiving app. What should I do? Thanks

    Is there any examples of a company that was burned by floating point data that caused a rounding issue? We're implementing a new system and all the monetary values are stored in floats. I think if i can show actual examples of why this has failed it'll have more weight than the theory of why the values can't be stored properly.

    Hi Guys, For one of my course project I started implementing "Naive Bayesian classifier" in C. My project is to implement a document classifier application (especially Spam) using huge training data. Now I have problem implementing the algorithm because of the limitations in the C's datatype. ( Algorithm I am using is given here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bayesian_spam_filtering ) PROBLEM STATEMENT: The algorithm involves taking each word in a document and calculating probability of it being spam word. If p1, p2 p3 .... pn are probabilities of word-1, 2, 3 ... n. The probability of doc being spam or not is calculated using Here, probability value can be very easily around 0.01. So even if I use datatype "double" my calculation will go for a toss.   • Java Save Object to File

    I've tried implementing various methods from around the internet, all seem to be providing the same solution. But it just won't work and I'm unsure why, it creates the file, however, it's blank and if I try loading that file, it has an error. Main.java contains the code to save and load the file: 190-224.   • Removing Directions markers from the Google Maps API V3

    To remove a normal marker from a map, I understand you simply call marker.setMap(null), but when implementing the Google Maps directions services, it automatically adds markers A and B onto the map ( calculating directions from point A to point B ). I do not have control over these markers, so I cannot remove them in the normal way. So how can I remove these markers (I have custom markers on the map instead)?
