  • How do I get tooltips to work in MFC for menus?

    I have a dlg box as the main window. After a few searches on the we I tried downloading and running the sample the source here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/cc164067.aspx I get a compile error: error C2440: 'static_cast' : cannot convert from 'UINT (__thiscall CStaticLink::* )(CPoint)' to 'LRESULT (__thiscall CWnd::* )(CPoint)' 1 Cast from base to derived requires dynamic_cast or static_cast (VS 2008) The tooltips functionality seems to be a bit of a challenge. Any suggestions on how to get this working are much appreciated.

  • How can I display a manual efficiently in Sharepoint

    My organisiation uses Sharepoint for its 'intranet'. I have been given the task of creating a site for my department. One of the things I need on there is a procedure guide, which is basically a 150 page document, whereby each page is a separate procedure. Is there an efficient way within sharepoint that these procedures can be stored and searchable somehow, rather than dumping a 150 page document on there?

  • Which web crawler to use to save news articles from a website into .txt files?

    Hi, i am currently in dire need of news articles to test a LSI implementation (it's in a foreign language, so there isnt the usual packs of files ready to use). So i need a crawler that given a starting url, let's say http://news.bbc.co.uk/ follows all the contained links and saves their content into .txt files, if we could specify the format to be UTF8 i would be in heaven. I have 0 expertise in this area, so i beg you for some sugestions in which crawler to use for this task.

I want to make such system which will be storing one telnet connection per switch and every script (web interface, cron jobs, etc.) will have access to it.     Hi. Is there something like Spork for Jruby too? We want to parallelize our specs to run faster and pre-load the classes while running the rake task; however we have not been able to do so. Since our project is considerable in size, specs take about 15 minutes to complete and this poses a serious challenge to quick turnaround. Any ideas are more than welcome. Cheers

Instead of having to create an edit/display for each entity, I'd like to have the controller base class generate the view and validation code based off metadata stored in a table - something along those lines. I would imagine something like this has already been done, or there are good reasons for not doing it. Any insight or suggestions are appreciated.
