  I've developed a GWT app using i18n internationalization. In Host/Dev mode it works fine, but launching GWT compile gives this error: No resource found for key xxx, like below.   I want to reuse a WebRequest object so that cookies and session would be saved for later request to the server. Below is my code.   Hi all, I've inherited a struts 1 web application where, in order to reduce the number of Action classes (I guess this is the reason), lots of actions are mapped inside a single Action class, like: public XXXAction() throws Exception{ actions = new Hashtable(); actions.put("/XXX/main/load", new Integer(0)); actions.put("/XXX/main/save", new Integer(1)); ...... } public ActionForward executeAction(ActionMapping mapping, ActionForm form, HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res) throws IOException, ServletException { try { switch (((Integer) actions.get(action)).intValue()) { case 0: loadXXXMain(); break; case 1: ....... and so on (in some Action classes I have almost one hundred of these small actions). Now I'm looking at migrate to struts2 and I would like to have a cleaner and better solution to handle this, maybe without having a single Action class for each of these small classes. • Linq PredicateBuilder with conditional AND, OR and NOT filters.

  We have a project using LINQ to SQL, for which I need to rewrite a couple of search pages to allow the client to select whether they wish to perform an and or an or search. I though about redoing the LINQ queries using PredicateBuilder and have got this working pretty well I think. I effectively have a class containing my predicates, e.g.: internal static Expression<Func<Job, bool>> Description(string term) { return p => p.Description.Contains(term); } To perform the search i'm doing this (some code omitted for brevity): public Expression<Func<Job, bool>> ToLinqExpression() { var predicates = new List<Expression<Func<Job, bool>>>(); // build up predicates here if (SearchType == SearchType.And) { query = PredicateBuilder.True<Job>(); } else { query = PredicateBuilder.False<Job>(); } foreach (var predicate in predicates) { if (SearchType == SearchType.And) { query = query.And(predicate); } else { query = query.Or(predicate); } } return query; } While i'm reasonably happy with this, I have two concerns: The if/else blocks that evaluate a SearchType property feel like they could be a potential code smell. The client is now insisting on being able to perform 'and not' / 'or not' searches. To address point 2, I think I could do this by simply rewriting my expressions, e.g.: internal static Expression<Func<Job, bool>> Description(string term, bool invert) { if (invert) { return p => !p.Description.Contains(term); } else { return p => p.Description.Contains(term); } } However this feels like a bit of a kludge, which usually means there's a better solution out there. Can anyone recommend how this could be improved? I'm aware of dynamic LINQ, but I don't really want to lose LINQ's strong typing.

  Hi, Out of no particular reason I decided to look for an algorithm that produces all possible choices of k integers between 1...n, where the order amongst the k integer doesn't matter (the n choose k thingy). From the exact same reason, which is no reason at all, I also implemented it in C#. My question is: Do you see any mistake in my algorithm or code? And, more importantly, can you suggest a better algorithm? Please pay more attention to the algorithm than the code itself. It's not the prettiest code I've ever written, although do tell if you see an error. EDIT: Alogirthm explained - We hold k indices. This creates k nested for loops, where loop i's index is indices[i]. It simulates k for loops where indices[i+1] belongs to a loop nested within the loop of indices[i]. indices[i] runs from indices[i - 1] + 1 to n - k + i + 1.   Hello, I have an application which uses Spring 3. I have a view resolver which builds my views based on a String. So in my controllers I have methods like this one. @RequestMapping(...) public String method(){ //Some proccessing return "tiles:tileName" } I need to return a RedirectView to solve the duplicate submission due to updating the page in the browser, so I have thought to use Spring redirect: prefix. The problem is that it only redirects when I user a URL alter the prefix (not with a name a resolver can understand). I wanted to do something like this: @RequestMapping(...) public String method(){ //Some proccessing return "redirect:tiles:tileName" } Is there any way to use RedirectView with the String (the resolvable view name) I get from the every controller method? A typical pattern for class is : public ${class_type} ${class_name} extends ${super_class} implements ${interfaces} { ${class_body} } Problem is if super_class is blank or interfaces. I replace extends ${super_class} with empty string. But I get extra spaces. So a class with no super_class and interfaces end up like : public class Foo { //see the extra spaces before {? ${class_body} } I know I can replace multiple spaces with single, but is there any better approach?

I need that the string will be exactly like on the screen, each line will end with '\n' (if there another line after it) and the user will be able to insert only X lines and Y chars in each line. I tried to limit the lines but i don't know exactly how many lines do i have because of the line wrapping, The line wrapping is starting new line visualy on the screen(because of the width of the JTextArea) but in the string of the component it is really the same line with no '\n' to indicate new line. I do not have an idea how to limit the max chars in each line while typing. There are 2 stages: The typing of the string- keep that the user will not be able to type more then X lines and Y chars in each line. (even if the line wrap only visualy or the user typed '/n') Insert the string to the DB- after cliking 'OK' convert the string that every line will end with "/n" even if the user did not typed it and the line was wrapped only visualy. There are few problems if i will count the chars in the line and insert '/n' in the end of the line, thats why i decided to do it in two stages. In the first stage ehile the user is typing i would rather only limit it visualy and force line wrpping or something similar. Only in the second stage when i save string i will add the '/n' even if the user did not typed it in the end of the lines! Does anyone have an idea? I know that i will have to use DocumentFilter OR StyledDocument. • Sometimes Xcode appears to ignore target build settings?

  Hi all, I've created a iPhone static library project with two targets like this Project -- Library (Device) target -- Library (simulator) target The device target has the SDK set to the device so it produces an armv6/7 library and the simulator target is set to the simulator SDK so it produces an i386 library. The issue I'm having is that the SDK settings on the targets keep getting overridden by the XCode active target setting. i.e. if I build the device target, but the XCode window is showing the active SDK as being the simlulator, XCode will build a simulator library instead of a device library, ignoring the settings of the target. Although it will put it into the *-iphoneos/ directory in the build directories! I originally had the same issue with another static library project, and after a lot of playing around got everything to work correctly. i.e. The targets ignore the XCode active SDK because they have their own specifications of what to build. The problem is that I don't know what made it work in that project and I have not been able to reproduce the issue in it either. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is going on? ciao Derek

  I'm creating a class that derives from List... public class MyList : List<MyListItem> {} I've overridden Equals of MyListItem... public override bool Equals(object obj) { MyListItem li = obj as MyListItem; return (ID == li.ID); // ID is a property of MyListItem } I would like to have an Equals method in the MyList object too which will compare each item in the list, calling Equals() on each MyListItem object. It would be nice to simply call... MyList l1 = new MyList() { new MyListItem(1), new MyListItem(2) }; MyList l2 = new MyList() { new MyListItem(1), new MyListItem(2) }; if (l1 == l2) { ... } ...and have the comparisons of the list done by value. What's the best way...?
