My guess is that the solution is pretty simple and I am just over-thinking it...anyone have any suggestions?

• NSURL Connection will/won't load data

  So here's my issue: I followed the NSURLConnection tutorial in the iPhone Developer Documentation almost to the T, and it only kinda works. Here's where it all goes wrong: The object seems to be created correctly and delegates to connectionDidFinishLoading, but with any URL I try to load the response data always ends up only being 0 bytes. I am running in the simulator if that makes any difference. • Help with route rewrite in asp.net mvc

  Im having a really hard time understanding routing. Please help me with this problem. Each of my controllers have these three actions right now Users have Index, Create and Edit Locations have Index, Create and Edit Companies have Index, Create and Edit The thing is, it all gets done through ajax. I have jquery ui tabs with two tabs for each, Create and Edit So the Index method is always the one that gets called for action links. and inside this main view is that you can call(by clicking on the tab icon) the other methods that return an ajax view that gets output into the jqeury tab (I hope thats clear) I have a sidebar with links to the controllers. and to specific methods of these controllers. The wanted behavior is that it should actually go into the Index Method and then with some logic autoload the wanted tab. It all works just fine right now. But my urls are horrible. To get to the create method for Users I have to go this url http://localhost/Users/Index/1 http://localhost/Users/Index/2 I want the behavior of these links to be remapped to these links http://localhost/Users/Create http://localhost/Users/Edit So even though it seems as if you are calling the Create method of the controller you are actualling always calling the Index Method.... (I know how to transform Create into "1" and Edit into two, so dont worry about that part Hope thats clear. Thanks in advance Edit: Just realized that this might not be possible cause then when I actually need to call the methods (with ajax) it wont know what to do.... am I correct?

• Unexpected result in C algebra for search algorithm.

  Hi, I've implemented this search algorithm for an ordered array of integers. It works fine for the first data set I feed it (500 integers), but fails on longer searches. However, all of the sets work perfectly with the other four search algorithms I've implemented for the assignment.   So I've never worked with stored procedures and have not a whole lot of DB experience in general and I've been assigned a task that requires I create a package and I'm stuck. I've tried with and without the comment. When I hit "ok" I get the error... Then I create PrefixQuery to search, but the result have not been changed according to the boost. It seems setBoost totally doesn't work for a PrefixQuery.   Hello, In order to fill a datagridview according to the selectedvalue of a combobox I've tried creating a stored procedure. However, as I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing it, depending on the WHERE statement at the end of my stored procedure, either returns everything within the table or nothing at all. However, when I get source filter „Output 1“ pin, and then use myGraph.Render(source_output_pin), it works. Data is being sent from sink to source and everything connects automatically. However the problem is that the wrong VMR is inserted there. It’s VMR Renderer. I would like to have VMR9, that’s why im doing it. Why wont it work with VMR9 and why does source filter not show correct media type. Thank you.

But on my host's machine to which I SSH into, I get garbage printed on the screen for the same exact code. I am assuming it has something to do with the encoding, but the REST service does not return the character set type in the response, so how do I force LWP::Simple to use the correct encoding? • Proggraming a VPN, Authontication stage - RFC not clear enough

  I have a custom build of a unix OS. My task: Adding an IPSec to the OS. I am working on Phase I, done sending the first 2 packets. what I am trying to do now is making the Identefication Payload. I've been reading RFC 2409 (Apendix B) which discuss the keying materials (SKEYID, SKEYID_d, SKEYID_a, SKEYID_e and the IV making). Now, I use SHA1 for authontication and thus I use HMAC-SHA1 & my encryption algorithem is AES 256bit. The real problem is that the RFC is not clear enough of what should I do regarding the PRF. It says: "Use of negotiated PRFs may require the PRF output to be expanded due to the PRF feedback mechanism employed by this document." I use SHA1, does it mean I do not negotiate a PRF? In my opinion, AES is the only algorithm that needs expention (a fixed length of 256bit), so, do i need to expand only the SKEYID_e? If you happen to know a clearer, though relible, source then the RFC please post a link. Thanks in advance!

• Postback event not firing on FIRST button click..

  Hi, I have a form which accepts two arguments. The first one is mode - this is either view, new or edit. If it is new then the second argument is type - this is either range, collection or design. When set to new, and the type is valid, a new instance of that type is created and the data from the form is added to it. The item (range, collection or design) then validates the data. If any of the data is invalid then it throws an error, and this error is displayed at the top of the form telling the user why it is invalid. A variable, _Databind, is set to false so that it does not change the data input by the user (in the form fields). The button used to submit the button is called btnSave, and is created in the html source. The click event is wired up in the form Protected Sub Blah(sender, e) Handles btnSave.Click. Strangely, whenever I edit an item that already exists the form submits fine the first time - the click event is fired. However when in "new" mode I have to click the button twice to fire the event. It also blanks all the form fields out on first click. I have even put a Response.Write("Hello World") line at the start of the click event - this is not being output on first click when adding a new item either. It is on first load when the mode is set to edit however. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is causing it to behave this way? Thanks in advance for any help. Regards, Richard

• scraping text from multiple html files into a single csv file

  I have just over 1500 html pages (1.html to 1500.html). I have written a code using Beautiful Soup that extracts most of the data I need but "misses" out some of the data within the table. For some reason my code does not pull out all the required data but "misses" some data, e.g the Address1 and Address 2 data at the start of the table do not come out. I modified the code to put in * and === separators, I then use perl to put into a clean csv file, unfortunately I'm not sure how to work my code to get all the data I'm looking for!

• User Control SiteMap Provider Rendering Error

  I have created a Custom Server Control that renders the SiteMap as a pure UL for CSS styling. At run-time it renders properly but in VS2008 Design View VS shows this error: Error Rendering Control - menuMainAn unhandled exception has occurred. The provider 'AspNetXmlSiteMapProvider' specified for the defaultProvider does not exist in the providers collection. I have 'AspNetXmlSiteMapProvider' specified in web.config as per here : link text While I am happy that the code runs properly, the Designer error is bothersome if the underlying issue might cause the code to break in some circumstances so I need to understand what is going on... The code explicitly references the sitemap in the Render Method with : int level = 1; string ul = string.Format("<div class='{0}' id='{1}'>{2}</div>", CssClassName, this.ID.ToString(), EnumerateNodesRecursive(SiteMap.RootNode, level)); output.Write(ul); and the recursive method called referrences SiteMap.CurrentNode. Otherwise there are no explicit sitemap references in the code. Does anyone have any ideas why Deisgner is complaining?

• OData / WCF Data Service - HTTP 500 Error

  I have created an OData/WCF service using Visual Studio 2010 on Windows XP SP3 with all current patches installed. When I click on "view in browser", the service opens and I see the 3 tables from my EF model. However, when I add a table name ("Commands" in this case) to the end of the query string, rather than seeing the data from the table, I get an HTTP 500 error. (This error (HTTP 500 Internal Server Error) means that the website you are visiting had a server problem which prevented the webpage from displaying.). I have not only followed the examples from 2 sites, but have also tried running the sample application that the blog poster sent me (that works on his machine), and still am not having any luck. The blog post is at Exposing OData from an Entity Framework Model Does anyone have an idea why this is occurring and how to resolve it? • C++ resize a docked Qt QDockWidget programmatically?

  I've just started working on a new C++/Qt project. It's going to be an MDI-based IDE with docked widgets for things like the file tree, object browser, compiler output, etc. One thing is bugging me so far though: I can't figure out how to programmatically make a QDockWidget smaller. For example, this snippet creates my bottom dock window, "Build Information": m_compilerOutput = new QTextEdit; m_compilerOutput->setReadOnly(true); dock = new QDockWidget(tr("Build Information"), this); dock->setWidget(m_compilerOutput); addDockWidget(Qt::BottomDockWidgetArea, dock); When launched, my program looks like this: http://yfrog.com/6ldreamidep (bear in mind the early stage of development) However, I want it to appear like this: http://yfrog.com/20dreamide2p I can't seem to get this to happen. The Qt Reference on QDockWidget says this: Custom size hints, minimum and maximum sizes and size policies should be implemented in the child widget. QDockWidget will respect them, adjusting its own constraints to include the frame and title. Size constraints should not be set on the QDockWidget itself, because they change depending on whether it is docked Now, this suggests that one method of going about doing this would be to sub-class QTextEdit and override the sizeHint() method. However, I would prefer not to do this just for that purpose, nor have I tried it to find that to be a working solution. I have tried calling dock-resize(m_compilerOutput-width(), m_compilerOutput-minimumHeight()), calling m_compilerOutput-setSizePolicy() with each of its options...nothing so far has affected the size. Like I said, I would prefer a simple solution in a few lines of code to having to create a sub-class just to change sizeHint(). All suggestions are appreciated.
