    I have trouble to paste a list of strings in the format of 'mm/dd/yy' into iWork-Numbers. For example: 04/01/10 04/03/10 04/13/10 The result will be: 2004-01-10 2004-03-10 04/13/10 It looks like that Numbers convert the mm into year, then month and last day. Is there any way to paste whatever as they are? Do I have to change settings in Numberers or System preference?

  • downgrade PHP 5.3 to 5.2 on lenny

    Unfortunately I did upgrade PHP to version 5.3, but it end up breaking up some web apps, now I'm trying to go back to 5.2. I removed both sources php53.dotdeb.org from /etc/apt/sources.list and I did apt-get update && apt-get upgrade, but it didn't downgrade anything. Any ideas on how to go back will be appreciated Thanks

  • wvMaxima Error: "Not Connected To Maxima" on Windows

    Maxima gives an error "Not Connected To Maxima" whenever I try to do anything with it. I've looked around, but I couldn't figure out how to fix this on Windows. The only results I got were for Fedora. According to them, I think this may have something to do with the Firewall, but I can't figure out what. I even tried adding wvMaxima to the Windows Firewall exceptions list, but the same error comes up.

  • Windows 7 x64 installation freezes on new PC build

    Symptoms While attempting to install Windows 7 (64 bit) on my new PC build, it freezes usually at the point where it is expanding the windows image, but has frozen as early as accepting the licence agreement, and as late as just after the first restart. My specs are at the bottom of the post. So far I have tried the following to identify the problem, in rough chronological order: Tried different hard drives with different sata cables. Same symptoms. I later used a different computer to install windows on the same hard drive with no problems. Tried the RAM in different slots, and tried one RAM stick instead of two. Same symptoms. Updated the BIOS to 1.60. Same symptoms. Ran Memtest86+ with RAM in dual channel. It passed about 6 times when I left it running overnight. Used USB to install windows instead of an optical drive. Same symptoms. Change SATA configuration from AHCI to IDE. Same symptoms. Tried various different SATA ports. Same symptoms. Updated BIOS to 1.70. Same symptoms. I saw the RAM did not list my motherboard as being supported even though the motherboard did list the RAM as being supported. So I tried some Kingston DDR3 1333MHz RAM instead. Same symptoms. Other (possibly) pertinent information My CPU idles at about 30 °C. I can't tell what it gets to when it's working. When I installed the CPU, the lever which locks the CPU in place took quite a bit of force to pull down. Now I didn't just yank it down without rechecking the CPU was seated properly about 5 times, but it does seems unusual, and I wonder if the CPU was seated badly if I would see these symptoms? I am out of ideas and don't know how to diagnose any further. I suppose either the motherboard or CPU must be the problem. I am on the verge of taking it to a specialist. The Question How should I proceed from here? Is there anything I can rule out as being the source of the symptoms I am seeing? My Specs CPU: Intel i5 3570k RAM: G.Skill RipjawsX 8GB kit HDD: single 3.5" 500GB SATA or 160GB 2.5" SATA (at different times and sometime together. But no RAID or anything). MB: ASRock Extreme4 Z77 PSU: Silverstone Strider Plus 600W ST60F-P

  • Varnish configuration to only cache for non-logged in users

    I have a Ruby on Rails application fronted by varnish+nginx. As most of the sites content is static unless you are a logged in user, I want to cache the site heavily with varnish when a user is logged out but only to cache static assets when they are logged in. When a user is logged in they will have the cookie 'user_credentials' present in their Cookie: header, in addition I need to skip caching on /login and /sessions in order that a user can get their 'user_credentials' cookie in the first place. Rails by default does not set a cache friendly Cache-control header, but my application sets a "public,s-max-age=60" header when a user is not logged in. Nginx is set to return 'far future' expires headers for all static assets. The configuration I have at the moment is totally bypassing the cache for everything when logged in, including static assets — and is returning cache MISS for everything when logged out.   • OpenBSD pf 'match in all scrub (no-df)' causes HTTPS to be unreachable on mobile network

    First of all: excuse me for my poor usage of the English language. For several years I'm experiencing problems with the 'match in all scrub (no-df)' rule in pf. I can't find out what's happening here. I'll try to be clear and simple. The pf.conf has been extremely shortened for this forum posting. Here is my pf.conf: set skip on lo0 match in all scrub (no-df) block all block in quick from urpf-failed pass in on em0 proto tcp from any to 213.125.xxx.xxx port 80 synproxy state pass in on em0 proto tcp from any to 213.125.xxx.xxx port 443 synproxy state pass out on em0 from 213.125.xxx.xxx to any modulate state HTTP and HTTPS are working fine. Until the moment a customer in France (Wanadoo DSL) couldn't view HTTPS pages! I blamed his provider and did no investigation on that problem. But then... I bought an Android Samsung Galaxy SII (Vodafone) to monitor my servers. Hours after I walked out of the telephone store: no HTTPS-connections on my server! I thought my servers were down, drove back to the office very fast. But they were up. I discovered that disabling the rule match in all scrub (no-df) solves the problem. Android phone (Vodafone NL) and Wanadoo DSL FR are now OK on HTTPS. But now I don't have any scrubbing anymore. This is not what I want. Does anyone here understand what is going on? I don't. Enabling scrubbing causes HTTPS webpages not to be loaded on SOME ISP's, but not all. In systat, I strangely DO see a state created and packets received from those ISP's... Still confused. I'm using OpenBSD 5.1/amd64 and OpenBSD 5.0/i386. I have two ISP's at my office (one DSL and one cable). Affects both. This can be reproduced quite easily.     I've been trying to make a script that will a file name and change only one word in it. An example would be: projectname.vcproj.domainname.username.user to projectname.vcproj.otherdomainname.username.user I've tried using the if loop to list the directory and set the delimiter to a period but it doesn't seem to be able to identify and change it. I'm using examples of renaming .txt files but it doesn't seem to work, any suggestions?

    I have a Netgear WG311 v2 wireless card. It was working fine on vista. Now I have installed Windows 7 and the device is not identified. Device Manager shows it as an Ethernet card. When I update the driver using the list provided with the Windows distribution. It shows it under Wireless devices in Device Manager but it says device cannot start code 10. However there is no *.hdr files so I can't extact the CAB files using tools on Internet, even though the package is still able to be installed without any error. Can anybody give me a suggestion for this please?

    Running FSUtil 8Dot3Name Scan /v /s C: gives you a list of potential 8.3 paths in the registry that are referring to your file system, but is there any tool that can actually convert those paths to long paths in the registry? I do understand this could break some programs, but I have backups so I'd be willing to give it a try. (I tried to make a tool like this myself, but it's harder than it looks, because of false positives and all the varieties of ways the path could be embedded.)
