The application have a good internet connection and there is no problem reaching the app server-side api. I see in analytics that lots of startups and click-events the past few days are lost, even I know the traffic is normal since i can see statistics from the the server api. In the analytics reports I see a day by day under-reporting. So the problems seems to be spreading/growing to all the devices using this application. Im wondering why google does not answer this in their mail-groups - several people have complained about this...well, well... I found this thread relevant: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/682560/java-net-socketexception-broken-pipe But, I'm still not sure if there is anything I can do to fix it or not. If there is nothing I can do to fix it, I guess its not my fault that it got broken. But i got a feeling it is, since the problem got dramatically worse on the last deploy to Android market. Anyone else with experience on Google Analytics for android ?

    I always read about this funny weight value in the Android documentations. Now I want to try it for the first time but it isn't working at all. As I understand it from the documentations this layout: <LinearLayout android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="horizontal"> <Button android:text="Register" android:id="@+id/register" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:padding="10dip" weight="1" /> <Button android:text="Not this time" android:id="@+id/cancel" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:padding="10dip" weight="1" /> </LinearLayout> should create two buttons that are horizontally aligned and share the space equally. The problem is the two buttons don't grow to fill the space. The result is something like this: I would like the buttons to grow and fill the whole line.

    One developer on my team has some setting in Android Studio that replaces the distributionUrl entry in gradle/wrapper/gradle-wrapper.properties to use the gradle-###-all.zip, while my Android Studio changes it back to gradle-###-bin.zip. Basically, my diff always looks like: -distributionUrl=https\://services.gradle.org/distributions/gradle-1.12-all.zip +distributionUrl=https\://services.gradle.org/distributions/gradle-1.12-bin.zip This is annoying. What setting is it, and how do I change it?

I would prefer a free API that provides this functionality, but I am willing to look at quality commercial API's if they offer the services I need.     I'm doing a research project for the summer and I've got to use get some data from Wikipedia, store it and then do some analysis on it. I'm using the Wikipedia API to gather the data and I've got that down pretty well. What my questions is in regards to the links-alllinks option in the API doc here After reading the description, both there and in the API itself (it's down and bit and I can't link directly to the section), I think I understand what it's supposed to return. However when I ran a query it gave me back something I didn't expect. Here's the query I ran: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?action=query&prop=revisions&titles=google&rvprop=ids|timestamp|user|comment|content&rvlimit=1&list=alllinks&alunique&allimit=40&format=xml Which in essence says: Get the last revision of the Google page, include the id, timestamp, user, comment and content of each revision, and return it in XML format. The allinks (I thought) should give me back a list of wikipedia pages which point to the google page (In this case the first 40 unique ones). When i call NfcAdapter.getDefaultAdapter(this), i get null. Why is this so?   • 3-legged-oauth and Google ContactsClient problem

    Hi I am using 3-legged-oauth to import a users' Google contacts in my app. I did not find the ContactsClient library but i was using only the ContacsService and i was fetching the ContactsFeed but that resulted to not having a lot of data.   • How can I have a smooth animated move between 2 Google Maps locations?

    When clicking from one marker to another in Google Maps, the map screen animates the move smoothly if both markers are within them initial map view but jumps if one of the markers is off screen. I'm trying to set up a map which has several locations within the main map area but has one which is 'off screen'. I have a signpost icon to the more distant location within the initial map area which I want to smoothly scroll to the off screen location when clicked (so as to give a better sense of it's relative location). I can't find anything in the Maps API which would let me do this however. I could zoom out, move and then zoom in again but this looks a bit jarring. Am I missing something in the API, or does anyone have any suggestions?

    I did some digging in Android code, and saw the use of in the indeterminate progress bar. after trying to create my own drawable with this tag: <animated-rotate xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:drawable="@drawable/spinner_pia" android:pivotX="50%" android:pivotY="50%" android:framesCount="12" android:frameDuration="100" /> I get an error: "No resource identifier found for attribute 'frameDuration' in package 'android'" - which means that frameDuration is a private attribute. Is there a way to use this "animate-rotate" feature? My task is to replace the system's default indeterminate progress bar. I'd like to do it with as little code as possible (just change few attributes if possible). Using the ProgressBar view, setting: android:indeterminateOnly="true" android:indeterminateBehavior="cycle" android:indeterminateDuration="3500" android:indeterminateDrawable="@drawable/pia_sivuvator" and point "@drawable/pia_sivuvator" to that object would've make my task as elegant as they come but I'm stuck on those private attributes. help?

    I'm using google maps api to have a map show up on my website where visitors can also find directions. I have a starting point setup and an end point. Both are text areas. The start is empty, but I want the end point to be populated with the address from a div that I already have in the page. I have the javascript as: var address = document.getElementById("address").innerText.replace(/\n/g, " "); It works in Chrome, but Firefox shows the text in the endpoint box as 'undefined.'             Introduction:                     Building modern HTTP/RESTful/RPC services has become very easy with the new ASP.NET Web API framework. Using ASP.NET Web API framework, you can create HTTP services which can be accessed from browsers, machines, mobile devices and other clients. Developing HTTP services is now become more easy for ASP.NET MVC developer becasue ASP.NET Web API is now included in ASP.NET MVC. In addition to developing HTTP services, it is also important to return meaningful response to client if a resource(uri) not found(HTTP 404) for a reason(for example, mistyped resource uri). It is also important to make this response centralized so you can configure all of 'HTTP 404 Not Found' resource at one place. In this article, I will show you how to handle 'HTTP 404 Not Found' at one place.         Description:                     Let's say that you are developing a HTTP RESTful application using ASP.NET Web API framework. In this application you need to handle HTTP 404 errors in a centralized location. From ASP.NET Web API point of you, you need to handle these situations, No route matched. Route is matched but no {controller} has been found on route. No type with {controller} name has been found. No matching action method found in the selected controller due to no action method start with the request HTTP method verb or no action method with IActionHttpMethodProviderRoute implemented attribute found or no method with {action} name found or no method with the matching {action} name found.                                          Now, let create a ErrorController with Handle404 action method. This action method will be used in all of the above cases for sending HTTP 404 response message to the client.  public class ErrorController : ApiController { [HttpGet, HttpPost, HttpPut, HttpDelete, HttpHead, HttpOptions, AcceptVerbs("PATCH")] public HttpResponseMessage Handle404() { var responseMessage = new HttpResponseMessage(HttpStatusCode.NotFound); responseMessage.ReasonPhrase = "The requested resource is not found"; return responseMessage; } }                     You can easily change the above action method to send some other specific HTTP 404 error response. If a client of your HTTP service send a request to a resource(uri) and no route matched with this uri on server then you can route the request to the above Handle404 method using a custom route. Put this route at the very bottom of route configuration,  routes.MapHttpRoute( name: "Error404", routeTemplate: "{*url}", defaults: new { controller = "Error", action = "Handle404" } );                     Now you need handle the case when there is no {controller} in the matching route or when there is no type with {controller} name found. You can easily handle this case and route the request to the above Handle404 method using a custom IHttpControllerSelector. Here is the definition of a custom IHttpControllerSelector, public class HttpNotFoundAwareDefaultHttpControllerSelector : DefaultHttpControllerSelector { public HttpNotFoundAwareDefaultHttpControllerSelector(HttpConfiguration configuration) : base(configuration) { } public override HttpControllerDescriptor SelectController(HttpRequestMessage request) { HttpControllerDescriptor decriptor = null; try { decriptor = base.SelectController(request); } catch (HttpResponseException ex) { var code = ex.Response.StatusCode; if (code != HttpStatusCode.NotFound) throw; var routeValues = request.GetRouteData().Values; routeValues["controller"] = "Error"; routeValues["action"] = "Handle404"; decriptor = base.SelectController(request); } return decriptor; } }                     Next, it is also required to pass the request to the above Handle404 method if no matching action method found in the selected controller due to the reason discussed above.   • Google Play Music Not Adding MP3s On-Demand

    My recent attempts to add music on-demand to Google Play Music have yielded nothing - no "Processing music..." or "Added __ of __" messages, just nothing. Previously I could add music on-demand; and nothing has changed on the machine from which I successfully added music previously, from which I have tried to add music on-demand recently. What could be hampering my ability to add music on-demand? WHAT I'VE TRIED: Right after I started using GPM, I briefly found that I could not add music (on-demand), but the problem went away after a logout/login. This time a logout/login has not helped. Dragging & dropping or browsing to folders or files to add has made no difference either. Nor has waiting ridiculously long for GPM to show signs of life after adding music on-demand seemed to work. Digging deeper, I read a related Google Play Help article and followed its suggestions... ran the Google Play Music Manager troubleshooter = no errors or warnings double checked my available storage = 8 GB free double checked supported file types = MP3 is still supported (of course) ..., but the problem remains. UPDATE: I found that if I configure GPM to automatically upload music added to specific folders, it strangely does add automatically what it will not add on-demand.

There are a number of ways to import your existing email and calendar entries into Google Apps Gmail (e.g. including the Google Apps Sync for Outlook tool), the Google Email Uploader, and copying messages using an IMAP client) so I'm covered on the import side. I'm trying to understand the use cases for the Google Apps Sync for Outlook tool http://mail.google.com/support/bin/topic.py?topic=23333 with respect to email and calendar entries. The description says it syncs your Outlook email and calendar items with Google Apps, but doesn't using Outlook as an IMAP client against Google Apps do the same?
