  • Css background layers and 100% height div's

    - by Znarkus
Imagine the following code. <body id="first_bg_layer"> <div id="second_bg_layer"> <div id="third_bg_layer"> </div> </div> </div> Each layer has a different background that is static/repeated to achieve the desired effect. I need all layers to fill up the screen, otherwise the background will be broken. The background is split in layers to minimize the image sizes. Setting min-height to 100% doesn't work for various reasons. Is there any way to do this?

  • 2D pixel array rotation and scaling

    - by Betamoo
Hi I am working on C# program to process images ( given as int[,] ).. So I have 2D array of pixels, and I need to rotate them around a point, then scale them down to fit the original array.. I already found articles about using matrix to transform to a point and rotate then transform back.. What remains is to scale the resultant image to fit an array of original size.. How that can be done? (preferably with 2 equations one for x and one for y ) Thanks in advance

  • Stupid Geek Tricks: Use Google Chrome Drag/Drop to Upload Files Easier

There’s nothing more annoying than saving a file somewhere on your hard drive, and then having to browse for that file again when you’re trying to upload it somewhere on the web. • Custom Upload Advanced Scripting CMS

    - by bradlis7
I am looking for a specific content management platform that would display themes for my application. Requirements are as folllows: Any user can upload content, but has to be approved by an administrator When the user uploads the content, an external application is called to generate a thumbnail I could create this using codeigniter or something, but I would much prefer to use an existing system. I have experience with Drupal (seems a little bloated for my needs), and Wordpress (I'm using it as main website right now). Maybe I need a plugin for WordPress instead of another CMS. WordPress currently blocks uploads of my file type. I can modify it, but it's a pain to update it every time WordPress has a new release.

  • Upload Recordings Of The Problem To Your SR

    - by bseckin
Do you find yourself trying several times to explain a problem in a Service Request? Does the support engineer ask more than once for clarification? If so, you might be interested in DITO -- Demo It To Oracle. DITO uses CamStudio (free download!) to record the exact nature of the problem, and upload the output to your SR. The following articles provide more details: Working with Support - MOSSOS (Doc ID 1265130.1) "Demo It To Oracle" (DITO) - CamStudio Help (Doc ID 11.1) Why take up valuable time first explaining the problem, then trying to get a web conference setup to show exactly what is going on? The next time you file an SR, try including a recording showing exactly which application is failing, where it is failing, and what it looks like when it fails.

  • My user can't upload files to folders owned by www-data

    - by Thomas Gautvedt
I think I have screwed up my permissions in Ubuntu. I am using my server to run PHP. I recently ran across a problem where PHP could not create directories in the var/www-directory, so I searched around on the internet. Now PHP can write and access anything like it should, but as a user, I can't create new folders or files anymore. Right now, the permissions for folders are like this: drwxrwsr-x 2 www-data www-data [Folders] This is the permissions when I upload using sftp: -rw-rw-r-- 1 gautvedt www-data [Folders] What have I done wrong and how can I change this?

  • How to manage the images for my Desktop Application

    - by NonExistent
What's the better way to manage the image files of my app? i've been thinking about the way that i do right now (save the image as a BLOB IN db), and i ask myself if would be better to manage the image as text in my DB, i mean, convert the image to hex(length of 500), then save in the db as text, and when calling it convert it from hex to image, or something like that, but what do you consider as an Experienced Progammer that is the better way? Maybe the question is too broad, but i need to know that, and nobody answers me anywhere...

    - by user186319
Hi All, I have four images on a page that on hover, needs to replace the main text with relevant text pertaining to that image. It's working but buggy. If I roll over slowly and roll off slowly, I get the desired effect. When I rollover quickly both div's content show. Here is a thinned out version of what I need to be able to do. <img src="btn-open.gif" class="btn" /> <div class="mainText"> <h1>Main text</h1> <p>Morbi mollis auctor magna, eu sodales mi posuere elementum. Donec lacus lorem, vestibulum sed luctus ac, tincidunt sit amet eros. Nullam tristique lectus lobortis nibh pharetra placerat. Aliquam quis tellus mauris. Quisque eu convallis elit. - by mahdiahmadirad
    Hi! I Used AsyncFileUpload(one of Ajac Control Toolkit Controls) to Uploading User's Image. this works well. But i want to change the image url of an image contorl to uploaded image url. how can i perform that? I put Image control in a Update Panel: <asp:UpdatePanel ID="UpdatePanelNew" runat="server"> <ContentTemplate> <asp:Image ID="Image1" ImageUrl="~/Images/Categories/NoCategory.png" runat="server" /> </ContentTemplate> </asp:UpdatePanel> <asp:AsyncFileUpload OnClientUploadError="uploadError" OnClientUploadComplete="uploadComplete" runat="server" ID="AsyncFileUpload1" UploadingBackColor="#CCFFFF" ThrobberID="myThrobber" /> &nbsp; <asp:Label ID="myThrobber" runat="server" Style="display: none;"> <img align="middle" alt="Working..." src="../../Images/App/uploading.gif" /> </asp:Label> in C# code I wrote these: protected void Page_Init() { AsyncFileUpload1.UploadedComplete += new EventHandler<AsyncFileUploadEventArgs>(AsyncFileUpload1_UploadedComplete); } void AsyncFileUpload1_UploadedComplete(object sender, AsyncFileUploadEventArgs e) { ScriptManager.RegisterStartupScript(this, this.GetType(), "size", "top.$get(\"" + uploadResult.ClientID + "\").innerHTML = 'Uploaded size: " + AsyncFileUpload1.FileBytes.Length.ToString() + "';", true); string savePath = MapPath("~/Images/Categories/" + Path.GetFileName(e.filename)); ImageOperations.ResizeFromStream(savePath, 128, AsyncFileUpload1.FileContent); Image1.ImageUrl = "~/Images/Categories/" + AsyncFileUpload1.FileName; //AsyncFileUpload1.SaveAs(savePath); } But it does not work. can you help me?   • How to create VHD disk image from a Linux live system?

    - by Federico
Once more, I have to resort at the experts here at SuperUser, as my other sources (mainly Google ;-)) didn't prove very helpful... So basically, I would like to create a VHD image of a physical disk to be archived/accessed/maybe even mounted in a virtual machine. Now, there are dozens of articles and tutorials on how to do that on the web, but none that meets exactly the conditions I would like to achieve: I would like the destination file to be a VHD image, as Windows 7 can mount it natively, even over the network and many other programs can use it (VirtualBox, ...) The disk I'm trying to image contains a Windows XP install, so in theory, I could use the disk2vhd utility, but I would like to find a solution that doesn't require booting that Windows XP install (ie keep the disk read-only) Thus I was searching for a solution involving some sort of live system (running from a USB stic or the network) However, all the solutions that I've came across either make use of disk2vhd or use the dd command under linux, which does a complete copy of the disk (ie even empty blocks) and does not output a VHD file. Is there a tool/program under Linux that can directly create a VHD file? Or is is possible to convert a raw disk image created using dd to a VHD file, without allocating space for the empty blocks? How would you proceed? As always, any advice or comment is highly appreciated!!

  • Run jquery image resizer after image is appended.

    - by Goldy
Hi all, I am using this jQuery plugin to re-size images. http://hirdet2.extra.hu/kepresize/ . $(document).ready(function(){ $('#content img').kepresize({maxWidth: 200,maxHeight: 150}); .... .... $('#content').append('<img src="pathtofile"/>'); }); However, these images are only being appended after the document loads, depending on the users actions. Therefore the appended images are not being re-sized. I have had a play around with .live() but can't seem to get it right. Any help would be much appreciated.

  • How do you go about finding out whether an idea you've had has already been patented?

    - by Iain Fraser
I have an idea for image copy-protection that I'm in the process of coding up and plan on selling to one of my clients who sells images online. If successful I think there would be a lot of people in a similar situation to my client who would be interested in the code also. I think this is a fairly unique idea that could be packaged into a saleable product - but if I did do this, I wouldn't want some big corporation decending on me with their lawyers after all my hard work. So before I put too much work into this I'd really like to know how I'd go about finding if this idea has been patented already and whether I'd get in trouble if I sold my product and if it would be worthwhile patenting the idea myself. Although I find the idea of software patenting abhorrent, it would be more to protect myself from the usual suspects than to stop fellow-developers from using the idea (if it is in fact a worthwhile one). I live in Australia, so an idea of who to go and see and a ball park figure of how much money I'd be looking at having to pay would be fantastic (in orders of a magnitude: 100s, 1000s, 10s of thousands of dollars, etc). Cheers Iain

  • Update image in ASP.NET page from memory without refreshing the page.

    - by ZeeMan
I have a command line C# server and an ASP.NET client, they both communicate via .NET Remoting. The server is sending the client still images grabbed from a webcam at say 2 frames a second. I can pass the images down to the client via a remote method call and the image ends up in this client method: public void Update(System.Drawing.Image currentFrame) { // I need to display the currentFrame on my page. } How do i display the image on the a page without saving the image to the hard disc? If it was a winForms app i could pass currentFrame to a picturebox ie. picturebox.Image = currentFrame. The above Update method gets fired at least 2 times a second. If the client was a winForms app i could simply put picturebox.Image = currentFrame and the current frame on the screen would automatically get updated. How do i achieve the same effect with ASP.NET? Will the whole page need to be reloaded etc?

  • How can I compress jpeg images in Java without losing any metadata in that image?

    - by guitarpoet
I want compress jpeg files using Java. I do it like this: Read the image as BufferedImage Write the image to another file with compression rate. OK, that seems easy, but I find the ICC color profile and the EXIF information are gone in the new file and the DPI of the image is dropped from 240 to 72. It looks different from the origin image. I use a tool like preview in OS X. It can perfectly change the quality of the image without affecting other information. Can I done this in Java? At least keep the ICC color profile and let the image color look the same as the origin photo?

  • Java SWT - dissolve (fade) from one image to the next.

    - by carillonator
I'm pretty new to Java and SWT, hoping to have one image dissolve into the next. I have one image now in a Label (relevant code): Device dev = shell.getDisplay(); try { Image photo = new Image(dev, "photo.jpg"); } catch(Exception e) { } Label label = new Label(shell, SWT.IMAGE_JPEG); label.setImage(photo); Now I'd like photo to fade into a different image at a speed that I specify. Is this possible as set up here, or do I need to delve more into the org.eclipse.swt.graphics api? Also, this will be a slide show that may contain hundreds of photos, only ever moving forward (never back to a previous image)---considering this, is there something I explicitly need to do in order to remove the old images from memory? Thanks!!

  • Cropping images & SEO

    - by user1181950
So I have a page with a bunch of images with largely varying sizes. Also the layout of the page is such that the images are all in the shape of square tiles, so just resizing will cause distorted images. What I've been doing previously is when users upload images, I resize and crop them appropriately and display the new image as the thumbnail and load full image when user clicks on it. However, I just realized this is an issue with SEO as google will crawl the thumbnails and stick the thumbnails on Google Images instead of the full images. Is there any way to show a cropped/resized image but have Google Image show the full image? I can do something with css using an enclosing div and overflow:hidden, but I'd imagine the performance on that would be pretty bad. Any suggestions? Thanks! PS. I saw this (Make google index the actual image not the thumbnail), but in my case I have users continuously uploading images, and the database of images is always changing and pretty big (thousands), so sitemap will be pretty unwieldy..
