    I would like to develop a site using jQuery that will work with all major browsers. I thought to start with a basic layout (a header, a couple of tabs with content, and footer). I wonder how should I create this layout to support different screen resolution, screen size, or window size. Should I work in pixels / points / percents when defining width and height of the components ? Are there any jQuery plugins that can help me with this task ? Thanks !

    I am looking for a solution to create a "virtual" webcam device under OS X (that acts just as a normal hardware webcam, but the application has full control over what to output). I'm fairly experienced with C++, but not so much with Objective-C and OSX/Cocoa programming. Anyone that can point me in the right direction, where to look and what I should be looking for?   • cygwin: svn does not work anymore

    All of the sudden svn stopped working in cygwin installation on windows xp. when I execute svn binary, nothing happens, svn process does not even show up in the Task Manager. I've reinstalled svn but it did not help (the last resort would be to uninstall cygwin itself).     I see people writing a function with FUNCTION instead "CREATE FUNCTION". When I saw this usage in the web I thought it was a typo or something. But in Oreilly's "Oracle 11g PL/SQL Programming" by Steven Feurenstein, the author had used the same thing. But I get errors when I execute that. Could somebody explain is it legal usage or not?. In Ruby they are used for some meta-programming tasks, like generating getters and setters for member variables (for example attr_reader :name to generate a getter for name).     What are the dangerous characters that should be replaced in user input when the users' input will be inserted in a MySQL query? I know about quotes, double quotes, \r and \n. Are there others?(I don't have the option of using a smart connector that accepts parameters so I have to build the query myself and this will be implemented in multiple programming languages, including some obscure ones so solutions such as mysql_real_escape_string in PHP are not valid)
