  • UISearchBar delegate not called when used as UINavigationBar titleVIew?

    - by phooze
I have a UITableViewController that I have specified as a UISearchBarDelegate. Up until now, I had programmatically added the UISearchBar to the headerView of the table, and there were no problems. I began to run out of screen real estate, so I decided to kill my normal UINavigationController title (which was text), and added the following code, moving my SearchBar from the table to the UINavigationBar: // (Called in viewDidLoad) // Programmatically make UISearchBar UISearchBar *tmpSearchBar = [[UISearchBar alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0,0,320,45)]; tmpSearchBar.delegate = self; tmpSearchBar.showsCancelButton = YES; tmpSearchBar.autocorrectionType = UITextAutocorrectionTypeNo; tmpSearchBar.autocapitalizationType = UITextAutocapitalizationTypeNone; [self set_searchBar:tmpSearchBar]; [tmpSearchBar release]; self.navigationItem.titleView = [self _searchBar]; This code works as expected - my UINavigationBar is now a UISearchBar. However, my delegate method: /** Only show the cancel button when the keyboard is displayed */ - (void) searchBarDidBeginEditing:(UISearchBar*) lclSearchBar { lclSearchBar.showsCancelButton = YES; } ...is no longer being called. I've breakpointed, and I've confirmed that the UISearchBar's delegate is indeed self, the view controller. Oddly, this delegate method is still called just fine: /** Run the search and resign the keyboard */ - (void) searchBarSearchButtonClicked:(UISearchBar *)lclSearchBar { _deepSearchRan = NO; [self runSearchForString:[[self _searchBar] text] isSlowSearch:NO]; [lclSearchBar resignFirstResponder]; } Any ideas why UINavigationBar is swallowing my delegate calls?? What am I missing?

  • UINavigationController with UIView and UITableView

    - by Tobster
    I'm creating a navigation-based app which displays a graph, rendered with openGL, and a tableview listing disclosure buttons of all of the elements that are displayed on the graph, and a settings disclosure button. The navigation controller is also a tableview delegate and datasource, and the tableview is added to the view programatically and has its' delegate and datasource set to 'self'. The OpenGL based graph view is added via IB. The problem I'm having is that I'm trying to push a view controller (either settings or graph element properties) within the didSelectRowAtIndexPath method. The method registers and the new view is pushed on, but the tableview stays and obscures part of the view that was pushed on, as if it has a different navigation controller. I can't seem to set the tableview's navigation controller to be the same as the rest of the UINavigationControllers' view. Does anyone know how I could fix this? My navigation controllers' initWithCoder method, where the tableview is added, appears as follows: elementList = [[UITableView alloc] initWithFrame:tableFrame style:UITableViewStyleGrouped]; elementList.dataSource = self; elementList.delegate = self; [self.view addSubview:elementList]; Further in the source file, the DidSelectRowAtIndexPath method where the navigation controller is pushed appears as follows: Settings* Controller = [[Settings alloc] init]; [self pushViewController:Controller animated:YES]; [Controller release];

  • Capturing unhandled exceptions in .Net 2.0. Wrong event called.

    - by SoMoS
Hello, I'm investigating a bit about how the unhandled exceptions are managed in .Net and I'm getting unexpected results that I would like to share with you to see what do you think about. The first one is pretty simple to see. I wrote this code to do the test, just a button that throws an Exception on the same thread that created the Form: Public Class Form1 Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Throw New Exception() End Sub Private Sub UnhandledException(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As UnhandledExceptionEventArgs) MsgBox(String.Format("Exception: {0}. Ending: {1}. AppDomain: {2}", CType(e.ExceptionObject, Exception).Message, e.IsTerminating.ToString(), AppDomain.CurrentDomain.FriendlyName)) End Sub Private Sub UnhandledThreadException(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Threading.ThreadExceptionEventArgs) MsgBox(String.Format("Exception: {0}. AppDomain: {1}", e.Exception.Message(), AppDomain.CurrentDomain.FriendlyName)) End Sub Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load AddHandler AppDomain.CurrentDomain.UnhandledException, AddressOf UnhandledException AddHandler Application.ThreadException, AddressOf UnhandledThreadException End Sub End Class When I execute the code inside the Visual Studio the UnhandledException is called as expected but when I execute the application from Windows the UndhanledThreadException is called instead. ¿?¿?¿¿?¿? Someone has any idea of what can be happening here? Thanks in advance.

  • Paypal (sandbox) buy now link redirects to paypal (sandbox) login page instead of order summary

    - by Nicolas
Hi, Before going live I try to test the paypal process against the paypal sandbox mode, but after the summary of what the user is going to pay on my website(buy now button), the link does not redirect to a paypal summary of the prder but ask the user to connect to paypal. Even after logging into the buyer sandbox account there's no summary of the order. It just disappears. Here's is the code I use on the checkout page: <form action="https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post"> <input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_s-xclick"> <input type="hidden" name="hosted_button_id" value="XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX"> <input type="hidden" name="notify_url" value="http://www.website.com/paypal/"> <div class="suggestion"> <input type="image" src="https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/en_GB/i/btn/btn_paynowCC_LG.gif" border="0" name="submit" alt="PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online!"> <img alt="" border="0" src="https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/en_GB/i/scr/pixel.gif" width="1" height="1"> </div> </form> Any idea why it redirects to the payapl login page instead of the order one? Btw I'm using the Website Basic Payment (not PRO then). Cheers, Nicolas.

  • UIViewAnimationTransitionCurlUp in landscape mode transitioning right-to-left

    - by Thanos
I have a view controller that is showing in portrait mode. When you touch the "menu" button, it calls the code below and it flips up to the MainMenu controller. So far, so good. - (void) menuButton: (id) sender { MainMenu_ViewController * viewController = [[MainMenu_ViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"MainMenu_ViewController" bundle:nil]; self.menuView = viewController.view; self.menuView.frame = self.view.bounds; [viewController release]; [UIView beginAnimations:nil context: nil]; [UIView setAnimationDuration: 1.0]; [UIView setAnimationTransition: UIViewAnimationTransitionCurlUp forView: self.view cache: YES]; [self.view addSubview: self.menuView]; [UIView commitAnimations]; } However, when you do the same in landscape mode, instead of the animation flipping up (with respect to gravity, i.e. towards the long end of the iPhone) it flips towards the left (i.e. towards the short end of the iPhone). Is this a limitation of the animation, or am I missing something?

  • Update the Progress bar using winforms c#

    - by karthik
    There is a functionality in my module, where the user can scan the number of serial ports in the system and when the user clicks "Auto scan" button, the code will have to go through each serial port and send a test message and wait for the reply. I am using Progress bar control to show process of autoscan. For which i need to pass the value to "x" and "Y" in my code to update the bar. How can i pass the value since my code is already in a foreach loop for getting the serialports. Y = should pass the value of total number of serial ports X = should iterate through each port and pass the value Hope i am clear with req. private void backgroundWorker1_DoWork(object sender, DoWorkEventArgs e) { string strAckData = ""; foreach (SerialPort sp in comPortsList) { sp.Open(); string sendData = "Auto scan"; sp.Write(sendData); strAckData += "Connection live on port " + sp.ReadExisting() + "\n"; sp.Close(); double dIndex = (double)x; **//How to pass the value here ?** double dTotal = (double)y; **//How to pass the value here ?** double dProgressPercentage = (dIndex / dTotal); int iProgressPercentage = (int)(dProgressPercentage * 100); // update the progress bar backgroundWorker1.ReportProgress(iProgressPercentage); } richTextBox1.Invoke(new MethodInvoker(delegate { richTextBox1.Text = strAckData; })); } private void backgroundWorker1_ProgressChanged(object sender, ProgressChangedEventArgs e) { ProgressBar.Value = e.ProgressPercentage; } private void backgroundWorker1_RunWorkerCompleted(object sender, RunWorkerCompletedEventArgs e) { StatusLabel.Text = "Auto Scan completed"; }

  • Running and managing NSTimer in different NSThread/NSRunLoop

    - by mips
I'm writing a Cocoa application, with a GUI designed in Interface Builder. I need to schedule background activity (at regular intervals) without blocking the UI, so I run it in a separate thread, like this: - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(NSNotification *)aNotification { [self performSelectorInBackground:@selector(schedule) withObject:nil]; } - (void) schedule { NSAutoreleasePool* pool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; NSRunLoop* runLoop = [NSRunLoop currentRunLoop]; timer = [[NSTimer scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval:FEED_UPDATE_INTERVAL target:activityObj selector:@selector(run:) userInfo:nil repeats:YES] retain]; [runLoop run]; [pool release]; } I retain the timer, so I can easily invalidate and reschedule. Problem: I must also fire the run: method in response to GUI events, so it is synchronous (i.e. a "perform activity" button). Like this: [timer fire]; I could do this with performSelectorInBackground too, and of course it doesn't block the UI. But this synchronous firings run in another runloop! So I have no guarantee that they won't overlap. How can I queue all of my firings on the same runloop?

  • ProgressDialog not working in external AsyncTask

    - by eric
I'm beginning to think that to get a ProgressDialog to work the AsyncTask has to be an inner class within an Activity class. True? I have an activity the uses a database to manipulate information. If the database is populated all is well. If it is not populated then I need to download information from a website, populate the database, then access the populated database to complete the Views in onCreate. Problem is without some means to determine when the AsyncTask thread has finished populating the database, I get the following Force Close error message: Sorry! The application has stopped unexpectedly. I click on the Force Close button, the background AsyncTask thread continues to work, the database gets populated, and everything works ok. I need to get rid of that error message and need some help on how to do this. Here's some psuedo code: public class ViewStuff extends Activity { onCreate { if(database is populated) do_stuff else { FillDB task = null; if(task == null || task.getStatus().equals(AsyncTask.Status.FINISHED)) { task = new FillDB(context); task.execute(null); } } continue with onCreate using information from database to properly display } // end onCreate } // end class In a separate file: public class FillDB extends AsyncTask<Void, Void, Void> { private Context context; public FillDB (Context c) //pass the context in the constructor { context = c; } public void filldb () { doInBackground(); } @Override protected void onPreExecute() { ProgressDialog progressDialog = new ProgressDialog(context); //crashes with the following line progressDialog.show(context, "Working..", "Retrieving info"); } @Override protected Void doInBackground(Void... params) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub try etc etc etc } } What am I doing wrong?

  • Extjs - Dynamically generate fields in a FormPanel

    - by Benjamin
Hi all, I've got a script that generates a form panel: var form = new Ext.FormPanel({ id: 'form-exploit-zombie-'+zombie_ip, formId: 'form-exploit-zombie-'+zombie_ip, border: false, labelWidth: 75, formBind: true, defaultType: 'textfield', url: '/ui/modules/exploit/new', autoHeight: true, buttons:[{ text: 'Execute exploit', handler: function() { var form = Ext.getCmp('form-exploit-zombie-'+zombie_ip); form.getForm().submit({ waitMsg: 'Running exploit ...', success: function() { Ext.beef.msg('Yeh!', 'Exploit sent to the zombie.') }, failure: function() { Ext.beef.msg('Ehhh!', 'An error occured while trying to send the exploit.') } }); } }] }); that same scripts then retrieves a json file from my server which defines how many input fields that form should contain. The script then adds those fields to the form: Ext.each(inputs, function(input) { var input_name; var input_type = 'TextField'; var input_definition = new Array(); if(typeof input == 'string') { input_name = input; var field = new Ext.form.TextField({ id: 'form-zombie-'+zombie_ip+'-field-'+input_name, fieldLabel: input_name, name: 'txt_'+input_name, width: 175, allowBlank:false }); form.add(field); } else if(typeof input == 'object') { //input_name = array_key(input); for(definition in input) { if(typeof definition == 'string') { } } } else { return; } }); Finally, the form is added to the appropriate panel in my interface: panel.add(form); panel.doLayout(); The problem I have is: when I submit the form by clicking on the button, the http request sent to my server does not contain the fields added to the form. In other words, I'm not posting those fields to the server. Anyone knows why and how I could fix that? Thanks for your time.

  • Problem Rendering SIFR with revision 436 on IE6 and IE7

    - by Mark
Hi, I seem to have a problem with SIFR3. I'm using version 436 and from all my testing it appears to be a problem associated with IE6 and IE7 as I cannot replicate the issue in Firefox, Chrome, Safari for Windows, or even IE8. The problem is occurring on my company's website and can be seen here: http://www.wyldeia.co.uk/blog.php When you first go to the page in IE6 or IE7 it appears to render fine. However if you click away onto another page and then click the back button in the browser, all of the text is replaced by an error saying "Rendered with sIFR3 revision 436". If you refresh the page, then the problem goes away, that is until you browse away and come back again. I've tried this on two separate machines both running IE7.0.6000.16809, and a further separate machine running IE6 which I then upgraded to IE8. I thought initially it might be Flash player related but on upgrading from version 9 to 10 of the flash player the problem remains. Further digging around indicated that the error can be caused by having a corrupted flash font file, or having one present that was generated with a previous revision of SIFR3. However I have exported the flash font file using the supplied fla with revision 436 but the problem remains. Usually I like to track the answer down myself but as it is I'm at a bit of a loss on this one so if anyone has any ideas what might be happening here then I would be very grateful! Regards, Mark

  • Reverse engineering and patching a DirectX game?

    - by yodaj007
Background I am playing Imperishable Night, one of the Touhou series of games. The shoot button is 'z', moving slower is 'shift', and the arrow keys move. Unfortunately for me, using shift-z ghosts my right arrow key, so I can't move to the right while shooting. This ghosting happens in all applications, and switching keyboards fixes it. Goal I want to locate in the disassembled code the directx function that gets the keyboard input and compares it against the 'z' key, and change that key to 'a'. I'm considering this a fun project. Assuming the size of the scan codes are the same, this should be fairly simple. And because the executable is only 400k, maybe this will provide a unique opportunity for me to explore the dark side of the computing underworld (kidding). Relevant experience I have some experience with coding in assembly, but not in the disassembly of such. I have no experience with the DirectX apis. Question I need some guidance. I've found a listing of directx keyboard scan codes, and a program called PEExplorer that looks like it will do what I need. Is there a means by which I can turn some of the assembly with C function calls so it's more easily read? I will need to locate where the game retrieves the currently pressed keys, compares those against a list, and it's that list I need to modify. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

  • Problems with Aero Glass in Delphi 7 applications

    - by Cralias
Hi everyone! I'm trying to remake some of my older projects to support Aero Glass. Although it's kinda easy to enable glass frame, I've encountered some major problems. I used this code: var xVer: TOSVersionInfo; hDWM: THandle; DwmIsCompositionEnabled: function(pbEnabled: BOOL): HRESULT; stdcall; DwmExtendFrameIntoClientArea: function(hWnd: HWND; const pxMarInset: PRect): HRESULT; stdcall; bEnabled: BOOL; xFrame: TRect; // ... xVer.dwOSVersionInfoSize := SizeOf(TOSVersionInfo); GetVersionEx(xVer); if xVer.dwMajorVersion >= 6 then begin hDWM := LoadLibrary('dwmapi.dll'); @DwmIsCompositionEnabled := GetProcAddress(hDWM, 'DwmIsCompositionEnabled'); @DwmExtendFrameIntoClientArea := GetProcAddress(hDWM, 'DwmExtendFrameIntoClientArea'); if (@DwmIsCompositionEnabled <> nil) and (@DwmExtendFrameIntoClientArea <> nil) then begin DwmIsCompositionEnabled(@bEnabled); if bEnabled then begin xRect := Rect(-1, -1, -1, -1); DwmExtendFrameIntoClientArea(FrmMain.Handle, @xRect); end; end; FreeLibrary(hDWM); end; So I got the pretty glass window now. Due to black being transparent color now (kinda stupid choice, why couldn't it be pink) anything that is clBlack becomes transparent, too. It means all labels, edits, button texts... even if I set text to some other color at design time, DWM still makes them that color AND transparent. Well, my question would be - whether it's possible to solve this somehow?

  • Why is Selenium RC so slow?

    - by Pete
Hi. For some time I have been investigating Selenium RC in order to do functional testing of my web application. I have now found a test strategy that is so effective, that I do not want to move away from Selenium RC (after spending weeks trying to figure out a good way to validate ASP.NET validation controls). But now that my Selenium RC adventure is moving from a POC to be something that I actually use, I'm running into a problem. It is insanely slow. Executing a single test that loads a page, fills in some fields, and clicks a button takes in the magnitude of seconds to execute. When it is executing, I can easily see each individual field being filled out one at a time. Using Selenium IDE in Firefox is not that slow. I found this page, that clearly specifies that Selenium RC is slow http://selenium-grid.seleniumhq.org/how_it_works.html But why is that? Is it because the browser is polling the selenium server? If so, can this polling interval not be modified? Or is there another reason. I am not accustomed to a remote call taking a humanly noticable amount of time to execute. It is horrible that executing a few tests should take so long. I can execute my entire presentation (MVP), business, and database layer test suite (500+ tests) way quicker than it takes to run 10 tests for a single web page.

  • ExtJS: dynamically ajust layout after adding/removing some form fields

    - by Sergei Stolyarov
I have form layout with some TextField elements and one HtmlEditor element. Some TextField elements are "hideable", i.e. could be hid or showed. After hiding/showing elements HtmlEditor instance break layout — there appear empty space or element doesn't end at the window border. Is it possible to tell to HtmlEditor instance use all remaining available space? Even in case when some elements are hidden/showed. I've tried to use anchor property, but it works well until some element removed from the layout. Updated Here is a sample code: var htmlEditor = new Ext.form.HtmlEditor({ anchor: '100% -54', hideLabel: true }); var fp = new Ext.form.FormPanel({ items: [{xtype: 'textfield', fieldLabel: 'zzz', mode: 'local'}, {xtype: 'textfield', fieldLabel: 'nnn', id: 'id-one', mode: 'local'}, htmlEditor] }); var w = new Ext.Window({layout: 'fit', height: 400, width: 600, tbar: [{text: 'click', handler: function() { // hide element Ext.getCmp('id-one').getEl().up('.x-form-item').setDisplayed(false); w.doLayout(); } }], items: fp }); w.show(); Execute, click toolbar button "click", one field should disappear, then look at empty space below htmleditor.

  • Entity Data Model & DataGridView - Creating new objects

    - by AcousticBoom
I'm pretty new to the EDM, so bear with me. I have a windows form that has a DataGridView on it that's bound from the EDM I created. I figured out how to update my changes fine, but it's when the user creates a new row that I'm having a problem. I tried numerous ways and many google searches, but came up with nothing so far. Here's how the data is loaded: Dim boilerID As Integer = DirectCast(ddlBoiler.SelectedValue, Integer) Dim countryID As Integer = DirectCast(ddlCountry.SelectedValue, Integer) Dim ratings = From r In _Context.Rating _ Where r.Boiler.Boiler_ID = boilerID _ And r.Country.Country_ID = countryID _ Order By r.Sequence _ Select r RatingBindingSource.DataSource = ratings.ToList() Also, all I'm doing to save the information right now is the following: Private Sub btnSave_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnSave.Click _Context.SaveChanges() End Sub I want the user to be able to use the grid's "new row" feature to add new items to the database instead of having to click a button and open a new dialog. How would this be accomplished? I can include some of the methods i tried for adding new items if anyone needs to see. Thanks!

  • MVC Multiple submit buttons on a array of objects

    - by Kieron
Hi, I've got a list of objects in an MVC view, each with a set of submit buttons - Move up, Move down and Remove. Using the answer from this question, I can get the button clicked - but I need to know which item it would be operating on. The problem comes from the fact the input's value attribute is passed back, I need more information than that - i.e. an id. Below is a snippet of the contents of a for loop, rendering each item. <ul> <li><input type="submit" name="SubmitButton" value="Move-Up" class="linked-content-position-modifier" /></li> <li><input type="submit" name="SubmitButton" value="Move-Down" class="linked-content-position-modifier" /></li> <li><input type="submit" name="SubmitButton" value="Remove" class="linked-content-modifier" /></li> <li><%= Model.Contents[i] %></li> </ul> When the form is posted back, I can see that the SubmitButton has a value of either Move-Up, Move-Down or Remove - but no idea which item in the array it's referring too. Without changing the value to something really ugly, how would I tell which item it's referring to?

  • Incompatibility between x86 and x64 in Installation solution

    - by rodnower
Hello, I have installation solution that have installer project (not web installer but simple installer) that installs NT services, web service and web sites with help of additional two projects of dlls with my own code that performs my installation step. In user actions of installer project I call installer function of one of those projects, and this project calls to installer of second project: installer - MiddleCaller - InstallationCore. All this developing on Windows 7 and work fine when I compile all in 32 bit. The project must run on Windows 2008. Because of some reasons all must be in x64 bit. For this purpose, in MiddleCaller and InstallationCore I click right button of mouse on project - build - targer x64. For to move installer project to 64 bit in properties of installer (when project is active) I check: Target platform: x64. When I run installation on x86 I get error: The installation package is not supported by this processor type" And this is good, because now I know that my installation compiled in 64 bit, but when I run this on windows 2008 I get: Error 1001. Exception occured while initializing the instance: System.BadImageFormatException: could not load file or Assembly 'MiddleCaller, v...' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. Any one has some idea what I need to do for run fine the installation on x64? May be I still not moved the installer project to x64 bit, if yes, where I do this? Thank you for ahead.

  • Keyboard Animation Issues When Calling becomeFirstResponder within a Modal View Controller

    - by LucasTizma
I've been having some issues with calling -becomeFirstResponder on a UITextField contained with a view controller that is presented modally. I call this method in the modal view controller's -viewDidLoad method so that the keyboard is immediately displayed. What I expected is for both the keyboard and the modal view controller to animate from up the bottom of the screen at the same time. However, what I'm observing is the following: There is a ~0.2 second UI lag between clicking the button that calls the -presentModalViewController:animated: method on the parent view controller and when the child view controller begins to animate modally. The keyboard is immediately presented with absolutely no animation about half-way through the modal view controller's animation. Once the modal view controller's animation is complete, everything else seems to operate smoothly. Dismissing the modal view controller results in it being smoothly animated off screen (along with the keyboard, coincidentally). It's as if the keyboard's animation and the modal view controller's animation are both competing for some lower-level Core Animation resource at the same time, but I don't see why this should be happening. What further seems to corroborate this hunch is if I don't ask the UITextField to become the first responder (i.e., if I don't ask the keyboard to present itself), then there is absolutely no UI lag, and the modal view controller animates instantly. Interestingly, if I do something like [self.textField performSelector:@selector(becomeFirstResponder) withObject:nil afterDelay:0.0001]; then the animation of the keyboard happens nearly at the same time as the modal view controller's animation -- it's extremely difficult to tell that they aren't both being animated at the exact same time. Furthermore, there's no more UI lag. Has anyone experienced anything similar to this?

  • input type file alternative and file upload best practice

    - by Ioxp
Background: I am working on a file upload page that will extend an existing web portal. This page will allow for an end user to upload files from there local computer to our network (the files will not be stored on the web server, rather a remote workstation). The end user will have the ability to view the data that they have submitted by hyper-linking the files that have been uploaded on this page. Question 1: Is there an ASP.net alternative to the <input type="file" runat="server" /> HTML tag? The reason for asking is i would rather use an image button and display the file as an asp label on the portal to keep with a consistent style. Question 2: So i understand that giving the end user the ability to upload files to the server and then turn around to show them the data that they posted poses a security threat. So far i am using the id.PostedFile.ContentType and the file extension to reject the data if its not an accepted format (i.e. "text/plain", "application/pdf", "application/vnd.ms-excel", or "application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet"). Also the location where the files are uploaded to has a sufficient amount of virus and malware protection and this is not a concern. What, from the C# point of view, additional steps should i take to ensure that the end user cant take advantage and compromise the system in regards to allowing them to upload files?

  • Extra text shown on oveflow: hidden

    - by TRiG
    I'm keeping the main content area of the webpage small, so that footer navigation can be seen "above the fold". This is done by javascript setting the main content <div> thus: sec.style.height = '265px'; sec.style.overflow = 'hidden'; And then using javascript to insert a button to change the style back to normal: sec.style.height = 'auto'; The problem is that the cut-off point of 265px (dictated by the size of an image which I don't want to hide) doesn't quite match the gap between lines of text. This means that there the tops of tall letters show as funny little marks. Is there any way to hide text which is partially showing in a <div style="overflow: hidden;">? Edit to add: Full javascript var overflow = { hide: function() { var sec = app.get('content_section'); sec.style.height = '263px'; sec.style.overflow = 'hidden'; overflow.toggle(false); }, toggle: function(value) { var cnt = app.get('toggle_control'); if (value) { var func = 'hide'; cnt.innerHTML = 'Close « '; } else { var func = 'show'; cnt.innerHTML = 'More » '; } cnt.onclick = function() {eval('overflow.' + func + '();'); return false;}; cnt.style.cursor = 'pointer'; cnt.style.fontWeight = 'normal'; cnt.style.margin = '0 0 0 857px'; }, show: function() { var sec = app.get('content_section'); sec.style.height = 'auto'; overflow.toggle(true); } } if (document.addEventListener) { document.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded', overflow.hide, false); } else { window.onload = function() {return overflow.hide();}; }

  • CSS sliding door background image problem.

    - by ethyreal
I noticed I am not the first to ask about CSS sliding doors. However this seems (at least to me) to be a rather odd problem which I have not seen an answer for. Trying to create a simple rounded corner link button: html: <a href="#" class="link_button"><span>Add A New Somthing</span></a> css: .link_button { background: transparent url('img/backgrounds/bg-buttonRight.png') no-repeat scroll top right; color: #444; display: block; float: left; font: normal 12px arial; height: 41px; margin-right: 6px; padding-right: 14px; text-decoration: none; } .link_button span { background: transparent url('img/backgrounds/bg-buttonLeft.png') no-repeat top left; display: block; line-height: 31px; padding: 5px 0 5px 14px; } .link_button:active { background-position: bottom right; color: #000; outline: none; } .link_button:active span { background-position: bottom left; padding: 6px 0 4px 18px; } results: The two images are overlapping, which is what I want, but why the discoloration? Why would one be darker? I tried using png jpg, gif, with and without transparency. I posted the code here, along with another attempt using only one jpg instead of two, but still the same results. Did I miss something? Thanks in advance.

  • Java SwingWorker still uses 98% CPU after it's done.

    - by RemiX
I am new to the Java SwingWorker class, but I'm trying to get it to do some stuff in the background. That part works already, but now, when it is finished, the Windows Task Manager still shows that 70-98% of the CPU is still being used. Before I hit the 'Start' button it is only 3-15% and after I close the program it returns to those values. But what is still happening when the SwingWorker already reported being done?? I'll give you a simplified version of my code: I have this StereoProcessor extending SwingWorker, with doInBackground(): yLoop for(some values y) { for(some values x) { if(isCancelled()) break yLoop; else { setProgress(to some value); // do some non-SingWorker-related stuff } } } return returnValue; I call to this process through another code: stereoProcessor.addPropertyChangeListener(new PropertyChangeListener() { public void propertyChange(PropertyChangeEvent evt) { if(evt.getPropertyName().equals("state")) if(evt.getNewValue().equals(StereoProcessor.StateValue.DONE) { // do stuff } } } }); stereoProcessor.computeSomething(); // this method calls execute() That's about it, so I don't understand what it keeps doing. I tried putting some System.outs in the code in different places, but all stopped printing after a while. Does anyone know what's going on? Edit: I noticed the CPU also keeps running after a simple call to a method in StereoProcessor that doesn't even call execute()...

  • GridView doesn't remember state between postbacks

    - by Ryan
Hi, I have a simple ASP page with databound grid (bound to an object source). The grid is within the page of a wizard and has a 'select' checkbox for each row. In one stage of the wizard, I bind the GridView: protected void Wizard1_NextButtonClick(object sender, WizardNavigationEventArgs e) { ... // Bind and display matches GridViewMatches.EnableViewState = true; GridViewMatches.DataSource = getEmailRecipients(); GridViewMatches.DataBind(); And when the finish button is clicked, I iterate through the rows and check what's selected: protected void Wizard1_FinishButtonClick(object sender, WizardNavigationEventArgs e) { // Set the selected values, depending on the checkboxes on the grid. foreach (GridViewRow gr in GridViewMatches.Rows) { Int32 personID = Convert.ToInt32(gr.Cells[0].Text); CheckBox selected = (CheckBox) gr.Cells[1].FindControl("CheckBoxSelectedToSend"); But at this stage GridViewMatches.Rows.Count = 0! I don't re-bind the grid, I shouldn't need to, right? I expect the view-state to maintain the state. (Also, if I do rebind the grid, my selection checkboxes will be cleared) NB: This page also dynamically adds user controls in OnInit method. I have heard that it might mess with the view state, but as far as I can tell, I am doing it correctly and the viewstate for those added controls seems to work (values are persisted between postbacks) Thanks a lot in advance for any help! Ryan UPDATE: Could this be to do with the fact I am setting the datasource programatically? I wondered if the asp engine was databinding the grid during the page lifecycle to a datasource that was not yet defined. (In a test page, the GridView is 'automatically' databound'. I don't want the grid to re-bound I just want the values from the viewstate from the previous post! Also, I have this in the asp header: ViewStateEncryptionMode="Never" - this was to resolve an occasional 'Invalid Viewstate Validation MAC' message Thanks again Ryan

  • Click in a ListView item changes status of elements inside the item?

    - by Antonio
Hi, I don't know exactly how to explain this problem, but I'll try. I have a ListView with several items. Each item has inside a TextView and two ImageView. I want the ImageView change when I click on them, and I want to open a context menu when I press for a long time into the ListView item. For the ImageView, everything works properly. For the whole item, I can show the context menu after a long press, but my problem is that the ImageView changes as well when I am pressing the TextView, for example. Somo pieces of my code: ListView item: <TextView android:id="@+id/title" android:textColor="@color/black" android:maxLines="2" android:textSize="14dip" /> <ImageView android:id="@+id/minus" android:src="@drawable/minusbutton" android:adjustViewBounds="true" android:gravity="center" /> <ImageView android:id="@+id/plus" android:src="@drawable/plusbutton" android:adjustViewBounds="true" android:gravity="center" /> Drawable to change the status of the plus button: <selector xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"> <item android:state_enabled="false" android:drawable="@drawable/button_add_normal_disabled" /> <item android:state_enabled="true" android:state_pressed="true" android:drawable="@drawable/button_add_pressed" /> <item android:state_enabled="true" android:state_focused="true" android:state_pressed="false" android:drawable="@drawable/button_add_active" /> <item android:state_enabled="true" android:state_focused="false" android:state_pressed="false" android:drawable="@drawable/button_add_normal" /> I hope you understand my problem. I think that all the children of a view are affected by an event in the parent, but I am not sure. Do you have a solution? Thanks in advance
