• How to start a process from within a windows service

  I want to pop a browser with a given url from within a windows service. Like so: System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("http://www.venganza.org/"); Works fine when running in a console but not from within the service. No error messages, no exceptions, the Process.Start() command just seem to do nothing. It smells of some security issue, maybe something with the service properties and/or logon options? Annoying stuff this... Anybody? (Oh, and on windows 7/.NET framework 3.5.)

• Prawn PDF with Rails mailer?

  Hi Everyone, I have successfully created an email that sends on creation of a Kase, but now I need to attach a PDF that is created on the fly by Prawn and Prawno. Basically when you visit a kase such as application.com/kase/1 you just append the URL with .pdf i.e. application.com/kase/1. I spent ages getting the PDF to work and look how I wanted, but I can't figure out how to add the PDF to an auto sending email - mainly because I cannot work out how to give it a link as it's auto generated. Has anyone ever managed to get this to work? Thanks, Danny

• How can i bundle other files when using cx_freeze?

  I'm using Python 2.6 and cx_Freeze 4.1.2 on a Windows system. I've created the setup.py to build my executable and everything works fine. When cx_Freeze runs it movies everything to the build directory. I have some other files that i would like included in my build directory. How can i do this?   Hello there I was trying to get contact list from yahoo for POC. It was documented that the there is need to send a GET request to the URL with the user's ID and returns the contact list in XML format. I tried the same but facing the authentication message 401 from browser, normal console java application and from jsp too I guess I must try it using the open social API package. Can anybody please guide or suggest the solution for this problem if possible please post any code sample for any similar application in JAVA as I found most samples are unclear and in JSON only. • Testing MPMoviePlayerViewController in iPad simulator

  I have a view that shows a MPMoviePlayerViewController modally. When testing it in the iPad simulator it works well on the first try. If I dismiss the video and then show the view again, the player only plays the audio, but not the video. Is this a simulator quirk or am I doing something wrong? • Rails prettyPhoto does not show photo with jquery (instead redirect to photo page)

  i do all instruction for use prettyPhoto in https://github.com/hiq5/prettyphoto-rails. and i do this to show a single photo( not gallery ) =link_to image_tag(photo.photo_url(:thumb).to_s, :alt => photo.name ,:class => "img-polaroid"), photo.photo_url, :rel => 'prettyPhoto' but still redirect to photo url and show photo, and doesn't use jQuery to show it on the current page. i check it with chrome development tools, there isn't any error. i use haml to generate views (instead erb), and carrierwave to upload photos. by the way I use twitter bootstrap. any help is appreciated.

• Can YQL parse web sites requiring cookie-based authentication?

  First, my use case: I'm trying to use YQL's built in XPATH capabilities to scrape content from Yahoo! Fantasy Sports. It uses some sort of cookie-based authentication scheme. Basically, the sequence is: 1) Do an HTTP GET on the Yahoo! Login page 2) Parse the hidden inputs from the response and do an HTTP PUT with your Yahoo! Login on the form URL 3) Use the cookies returned from step 2 to GET any of the Fantasy Sports! websites that you have access to My question is, does YQL support doing this to scrape data? The only authentication based examples I've seen use OAuth, but I haven't seen any examples of using YQL to parse websites with cookie-based authentication schemes

• Rails choking on the content of this request because of protect_from_forgery

  I'm trying to simply test my RESTful API with cURL. Using the following invocation: curl -d "name=jimmy" -H "Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded" http://127.0.0.1:3000/people.xml -i Rails is dying though: ActionController::InvalidAuthenticityToken (ActionController::InvalidAuthenticityToken): :8:in `synchronize' Looks like it's running this through a protect_from_forgery filter. I thought protect_from_forgery is excluded for non-HTML HTTP POST/PUT/DELETE type requests? This is clearly targeting the XML format. If I pass actual XML content, it works. But my users will be submitting POST data as URL encoded parameters. I know all the various ways I can disable protect_from_forgery but what's the proper way of handling this? I want to leave it on so that when I do have HTML based forms and handle format.html, I don't forget to re-enable it for then. I want users to be able to make HTTP POST requests to my XML-based API though and not get bombarded with this.

  Using dajngo-multilingual and localeurl. Small sample of my main page view: def main(request): #View for http://www.mysite.com/ name = Dog.objects.all()[0].full_name #this is a translated field return render_to_response("home.html", {"name" : name}) Entering http://www.mysite.com/ redirects me to http://www.mysite.com/ru/ and "name" variable gets russian localization. For now it's ok... But... Entering http://www.mysite.com/en/ shows me same russian loclized variable. During my experiments with debuger I've discovered: request.LANGUAGE_CODE is changing properly according to /en/ or /ru/ url suffix (thanx to localeurl) invoking multilingual.languages.set_default_language() makes "name" variable change loclization The question is: should I change language of django-multilingual to request.LANGUAGE_CODE in each of my view myself, or it must be solved automaticly and I've done something wrong?

  Hello I could not understand why after logging in from address: http://localhost/en/accounts/login/?next=/en/test/ I get refirected to http://localhost/accounts/profile/ So i ran search in django files and found that this address is the default LOGIN_REDIRECT_URL for django. What i did not understand is why it gets redirected to there. I guessed, that my login form's post address should be : /accounts/login/?next=/en/test/ instead of /accounts/login/ I wrote it into template and it worked. But since the redirect url changes dynamically, how can i make this login post forms address change dynamically too? is there a templatetag for that or something? Alan

  I need to check whether the request will return a 500 Server Internal Error or not (so getting the error is expected). I'm doing this: HttpWebRequest request = WebRequest.Create(url) as HttpWebRequest; request.Method = "GET"; HttpWebResponse response = request.GetResponse() as HttpWebResponse; if (response.StatusCode == HttpStatusCode.OK) return true; else return false; But when I get the 500 Internal Server Error, a WebException is thrown, and I don't want to depend on it to control the application flow - how can this be done?

• Django admin urls return INVALID REQUEST! - Django

  Hi folks, my admin urls are sat behind a prefix by doing the following. 1# (r'^admin/', include(admin.site.urls)), is placed within urls_core.py 2# (r'^api/', include('project.urls_core')), is palced within urls.py All admin URLs work fine except app indexes. If I go to any URL such as: /api/admin/core/ /api/admin/registration/ /api/admin/users/ /api/admin/filters/ I receive 'INVALID REQUEST' as my response. Status code is 200 (OK) though. I have never received this error message before. Does anyone have a clue? Thanks guys!

  Hi everyone, i'm trying to realize non-editable QTableView with widgets in cells that should contain clickable listed text. With following code i'm setting widget in definite cell: view = QTableView() label = QLabel( <some html text> ) ... view.setIndexWidget(index, label) I used html to make label's text clickable, but links became blue with underline and moreover by clicking on it with right mouse button appears popup menu with "Copy Link Locaion" option, where i wanted to place some hidden information instead of url and of course do not let user see this info. I'm looking for light-weight widget, i thought that insertion of QGraphicsView in each cell will lead to big computer loads, but can't think of any other solution.   Hi. I have this code in place to pull some relation data from the database based on a ID of another weblog entry. The relationship custom field would not work for my situation. I have tested the SQL with MySQL and get no errors. But I get an error when I pull up the page. {exp:query sql="SELECT entry_id,field_id_16,field_id_19 FROM exp_weblog_data WHERE field_id_15='2' AND weblog_id='6'"} Also, I want to populate the “field_id_15” from the url. I have tried using the “segment_*” tag, but nothing. Maybe it is something else. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Josh

  Hi Google Chrome version (8.0.552.224 (Official Build 68599)) I have developed a web site using asp.net mvc and jquery. it uses a lot of ajax. I noticed that occasionally a web page does not complete loading all files from the server. Browsing through forums It seems that this also happens to other people. Looking in to the Chromium Net-Internals ( type: chrome://net-internals/ as a url in the chrome browser ) I noticed that the pages do not complete loading if a NETWORK_IP_ADDRESSES_CHANGED event occurred. Any files that were not fetched from the server before the time of the NETWORK_IP_ADDRESSES_CHANGED event failed to arrive with error (-3) Do you know why the NETWORK_IP_ADDRESSES_CHANGED event occurs? Is there a way to truly set the user agent without this addition?

  Hello, looking for some help with images referenced within the stylesheet. I have no problems with these from non secure locations within the site but only from https. The stylesheet loads fine and displays everything correctly except for the images. example: body { margin: 0; padding: 0; background: url(/img/background_tile.gif) top left repeat-x; text-align: center; background-color: #fff; } All my css files and other image paths inside the code use relative urls to images. How can I make sure they all work fine without hard coding my image paths with https or http? I want the code to work fine with http and https. Thanks

• Deploying Asp.Net MVC 2 /C# 4.0 application on IIS 6

  Hi, I got a problem migrating from VS.Net 2008 / MVC 1 to VS.NET 2010 (+C# 4.0) / MVC 2 The web.config has been updated, the site runs well in Cassini, but my problem now is deploying on IIS 6. I updated the web site to run using ASP.Net 4, but whatever URL I try, I always have a 404 error. It's as if the routing was not taken into account (yes, the wildcard mapping has been done). I do not understand this mess and could not google anything interesting... Thanks for your suggestions ! O.
