• How can I save/print values in my WATCH list in Visual Studio 2008?

  When I attach the Visual Studio 2008 debugger to my web server process, I sometimes browse a large amount of data in my watch list. Suppose I have an array of string variable that I expand to show 20 entries. It seems that the only way to save these values is to copy and paste them one at a time. I have gone so far as to do a screen-shot in order to have a record of what the values were (to refer to later or print a hard copy). Is there an easy way to save and print these values? I am familiar with the new "IntelliTrace" feature in Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate, but it seems overkill for this purpose. I just want to take something like an array of strings and save it for later reference once I've stopped the debugger. What's a good way to do this?

• MVC3 application I want javascript methods to fire on passed in route values

  I have an MVC3 application in Visual Studio 2010. I have a view with several dropdowns that do javascript calls to populate dropdowns based on the selected value, some of which are disabled initially. That all works great with the initial state of nothing. If I however pass routevalues to the dropdowns from a redirect to this action, I do get the value set correctly but it's not enabled like it should be on the dropdown for example and when I post the form, the ones that are greyed out are not passed back on the form. How can I correct this?

  In c# you can use as to convert a type or get null: Object o = Whatever(); String s = o as String; Is there a similar easy way to achieve this in c++? I'm using Visual Studio 2010, if thats important. [update] Remember, there is a very important difference between casting and using as. Casting (at least in c#) will throw an exception if the type does not match: Object o = null; String s = (String)o; // will crash.

• Is a selector like *+* safe to use?

  I recently came across this CSS selector while trying to find a way to easily space out major blog elements such as paragraphs and images. An example of its use would be something like this: .post *+* {margin-top: 15px;} /* or... */ .post > *+* {margin-top: 15px;} /* if you don't want the margin to apply to nested elements */ At first glance, it seemed pretty useful. So my question is: What downsides are there to using these selectors? Specifically: What's the browser support like for this? Are there any cases you wouldn't want an even margin spacing between elements in an article and if not, is it easier to declare this first and then overwrite or simply declare each element individually? Does this have performance issues since you're selecting everything twice?

• WPF DropShadowEffect in ListBox

  Hi, Basically, I have a listbox which contains a set of listboxitem (stacked horizontally). On selected listboxitem, there will be dropshadoweffect applied to the border of the listboxitem. The problem i am having at the moment is the dropshadopeffect on the left hand side is covering (on top of) the left listboxitem. This is fine for me, however the dropshadoweffect on the right hand side of the listboxitem is covered by (below) the right listboxitem. Is there a way to make them consistent? so that both sides' dropshadoweffect will appear on top of the left and right listboxitems. Please let me know if you need more information. Any help would be appreciated.

  I'm mainly using c++ win32 API project and the question is asked keeping in mind: When you use microsoft visual studio 2010 visual c++ editor and you minimize any function, then ahead of the function you get a box; hovering over which you see the entire function. How to implement this in c++ win32 API ? for ex- when a win32 project is created in vs2010, and empty project checkbox is unchecked then by default you get a code which after running produces a window which has a menu bar containing File an Help. Now i want some text to come when i hover over each of them. I do not want a code just a hint how it can be done. Thanks in advance.

  I need to open a new pop up window on click of a button in a view. The new window should be redirect to a specific actionmethod in a specific controller. I also need to provide attributes for size of the new pop up window. Strangely, the image displays in the other divs where it is used (since it's a sprite, I'm using that same image for #modal-top-border and #modal-btm-border). In all other browsers it displays properly, and even in IE8. I cannot seem to find what CSS rule (or lack thereof) I may be using that IE7 is choking on. • JQuery code does not work not understanding the markup

  I am trying to make a simple animation using JQuery. I have tried adding the script externally(external file) and internally(within script tags). I have testing if the page is recognizing the script using the alert function, but the script is not executing. • best way to access/create SITE_ROOT and SERVER_ROOT values in PHP?

  I need 2 different paths, one for includes and one for js/css etc. I'm using mod_rewrite. The below works fine.... Currently all my files contain this at the top define('SERVER_ROOT', 'C:/wamp/www/site_folder/'); define('SITE_ROOT', 'http://localhost/site_folder/'); and then files are called like so: require_once SERVER_ROOT . 'st_wd_assets/inc/func_st_wd.php'; <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="<?php echo SITE_ROOT;?>st_pages/user_area/css/user_area.css" media="screen"/> as you can probably see, it's going to be a massive chore to update the top of every file everytime i move versions between the localhost and my live server. What's the best/standard way of defining these ROOT values? I can't see a solution in the $_SERVER super global? Do people normally just use VirtualHosts? But then wouldn't it still be necessary to define ROOT constants?

• seeking help with Chrome & Safari not rendering my table stretched to fit its contents...help?

  I have an element on this web page I'm developing where I need my text to conform to the width of an image above it - whose width will always be different - think of captions. I have found numerous references to using a 1px table to force this width sizing behaviour. I am having problems, though with Safari and Chrome "seeing" this instruction - the text ends up as a marginally sized text box sitting behind the image. The problem, as I see it, has to do with the text and images sitting in div's nested within the table. I need the images to sit in a div because of some jquery script I'm using called cycle, which turns a group of images into a slideshow. The problem may have something to do with the script as well. In any case, I have tried a seeming infinite number of combination of floating left and clearing left on all all the divs, changing their positions and widths...nothing works. Anyone have any clues about how to broach this one? • Why is Python 3.1.3 in the header listed as a syntax error?

  Hi, I'm a newbie programmer so I'll do my best to clearly ask my question. I'm running Python scripts in Mac 10.6.5 and now trying to write and save to a text file (following instructions in HeadsUp Python book). Whenever I hit function+F5 (as instructed) I get the same "invalid syntax" error and Idle highlights the "1" in "Python 3.1.3" of the header. Here's the header to which I'm referring: Python 3.1.3 (r313:86882M, Nov 30 2010, 09:55:56) [GCC 4.0.1 (Apple Inc. build 5494)] on darwin Type "copyright", "credits" or "license()" for more information. Extremely frustrating. I've checked and rechecked the code but this doesn't seem to be code related because the "syntax error" is in regards to the header text that posts in every Idle/Python session. Help anyone? • UISearchBarDisplayController - Fixed SearchBar

  I've been trying to get UISearchBarDisplayController to not animate, and stay fixed below the navigation bar. Is this even possible, I've been getting some weird results. This is all configured through a storyboard. I am just trying to figure out If I should just create my own implementation of UISearchBarDisplayController since it kinda seems a little impossible to customize it to my need. Clicking the search box When I start searching the top has extra paddding (20pt). It's assuming its on top of the origin y: 0 to prevent overlapping of status bar. • Getting a divs z-index to overlap a div with absolute positioning

  Does anyone know how I could get the logo at the top of my page to appear on top of the curtains. http://nuigums.tumblr.com/ The logo is within a section tag along with the rest of the content with a z-index of 2, which is required to get the footer reveal effect I want. The curtain has a z-index of 3. I tried setting the z-index of the logo div to 4 but I presume the fact that the sections styling overrides that? I would like the logo to scroll with the content of the page also. Thanks. :)

• Android: how to convert whole ImageView to Bitmap?

  I have my application that is displaying images with different ratio, resized inside (centerInside) imageView. What I need is to create bitmap from the ImageView including the background (black in this case). So for example I have device screen 320x480, full screen imageView with image resized to 280x480. How could I get 320x480 bitmap from it? On top of this imageview I have some logos or buttons that I don't want to include to bitmap, they're like on top layer. All I need is bitmap with image and black border from some sides.

  I need to create a table view with 1 or 2 sections, depending on certain conditions. The first section needs to contain all of the remaining months of the current year, and the second section contains the preceding months of the next year, up to but not including the current month. Example: 2009 November December 2010 January February March April May June July August September October This would be the scenario with the current month of November. However, if it were January, there would be only 1 section containing all 12 months of the current year. This all needs to be dependent on the date settings of the phone.

  Hello, I am wondering how exactly can i order my date nicely in a stringbuilder? Meaning something equal to ("{0,2}", ....) to space the data nicely out. I do not want to use consolewrites of any kind, so the class can be re-used in a form, console code etc... Currently i am using " " for the spacing, but in overall it does not give a proper display.
