  • Error Instantiating an Inner Class in Parent's Constructor...

    - by stormin986
    In my application's main class (subclass of Application), I have a public inner class that simply contains 3 public string objects. In the parent class I declare an object of that inner class. public class MainApplication extends Application { public class Data { public String x; public String y; public String z; } private Data data; MainApplication() { data = new Data() data.x = "String"; } } After I instantiate the object in the constructor, I get a runtime error when I try to assign any of the inner class object's variables. Any idea what's up here??

  • jQuery .closest returns undefined

    - by Andy Holmes
    I've got the code below which works fine, however the jquery to add the items doesnt find the data-parent-room value and just returns undefined. This is the only thing not working :( HTML: <div id="inventoryRooms"> <!--BOX SHART--> <div class="widget box formHolder" data-parent-room="1"> <!--ROOM NAME--> <form class="widget-header rooms"> <input type="text" placeholder="Type Room name" name="roomName[]" class="form-input add-room-input input-width-xxlarge"> <input type="hidden" class="roomId" name="roomId[]"> <input type="hidden" class="inventoryId" name="inventoryId[]" value="<?=$_GET['inventory_id']?>"> <div class="toolbar no-padding"> <div class="btn-group"> <span class="btn saveRoom"><i class="icon-ok"></i> Save Room</span> </div> </div> </form> <!--/END--> <!--GENERIC ROW TITLES--> <div class="widget-header header-margin hide"> <div class="row row-title"> <div class="col-md-3"><h5>ITEM</h5></div> <div class="col-md-3"><h5>DESCRIPTION</h5></div> <div class="col-md-3"><h5>CONDITION</h5></div> <div class="col-md-2"><h5>PHOTOGRAPH</h5></div> <div class="col-md-1 align-center"><h5><i class="icon-cog"> </i></h5></div> </div> </div> <!--/END--> <!--ADD ITEM--> <div class="items"> </div> <!--/END--> <div class="toolbar-small"> <div class="btn-group"> <span class="btn addItem"><i class="icon-plus"></i> Add Item</span> <span data-toggle="dropdown" class="btn dropdown-toggle"><i class="icon-gear"></i> Options<span class="button-space"></span><i class="icon-angle-down"></i></span> <ul class="dropdown-menu pull-right"> <li><a href="#"><i class="icon-trash"></i> Delete Room</a></li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> </div> jQuery: $(document).on('click','.addItem', function(){ $('<!--ROW START-->\ <form class="widget-content item">\ <div class="row">\ <div class="col-md-3"><input type="text" class="form-control" name="itemName[]"></div>\ <div class="col-md-3"><textarea class="auto form-control" name="itemDescription[]" cols="20" rows="1" style="word-wrap: break-word; resize: vertical;"></textarea></div>\ <div class="col-md-3"><textarea class="auto form-control" name="itemCondition[]" cols="20" rows="1" style="word-wrap: break-word; resize: vertical;"></textarea></div>\ <input type="hidden" class="itemId" name="itemId[]" value="">\ <input type="hidden" name="itemInventoryId[]" value="<?=$_GET["inventory_id"]?>">\ <input type="hidden" name="itemParent[]" value="'+$(this).closest().attr('data-parent-room')+'">\ <div class="col-md-2">\ <div class="fileinput-holder input-group">\ <input id="fileupload" type="file" name="files[]" data-url="uploads/">\ </div>\ </div>\ <div class="col-md-1 align-center"><i class="save icon-ok large"> </i>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<i class="delete icon-trash large"> </i></div>\ </div>\ </form>\ <!--/ROW END-->').fadeIn(500).appendTo($(this).parents().siblings('.items')); $(this).parent().parent().siblings('.widget-header, .header-margin, .hide').removeClass('hide').fadeIn(); }); Like i say, it all works fine apart from that damn data-parent-room value. Any help is appreciated! using jQuery 1.10.1

  • Is there a a C-like way to get item number from enum in java ?

    - by Hernán Eche
    Perhap this is a simple basic question Having an enum public enum TK{ ID,GROUP,DATA,FAIL; } Can I get the order number for example ID=0, GROUP=2, DATA=3, FAIL=4 ? This is a way to to that, but a weird and long one! =S public enum TK{ ID(0),GROUP(1),DATA(2),FAIL(3); int num; TK(int n) { this.num=n; } public int get() { return num; } }; to get numbers so I write TK.ID.get(), TK.GROUP.get(), etc... I don't like that there is a better way? ( C enums, C macros..I miss you both ) thanks

  • how to use a PHP Constant that gets pulled from a database

    - by Ronedog
    Can you read out the name of a PHP constant from a database and use it inside of a php variable, to display the value of the constant for use in a menu? For example here's what I'm trying to accomplish In SQL: select menu_name AS php_CONSTANT where menu_id=1 the value returned would be L_HOME which is the name of a CONSTANT in a php config page. The php config page looks like this define('L_HOME','Home'); and gets loaded before the database call. The php usage would be $db_returned_constant which has a value of L_HOME that came from the db call, then I would place this into a string such as $string = '<ul><li>' . $db_returned_constant . '</li></ul>' and thus return a string that looks like $string = '<ul><li><a href="#" onclick="path_from_db">Home</a></li></ul>'. To sum up what I'm trying to do Load a config file based on the language preference query the db to return the menu name, which is the name of a CONSTANT in the config file loaded in step one, and also retrieve the menu_link which is used in the "onclick" event. Use a php variable to hold the name of the CONSTANT Place the variable into a string that gets echo'd out to create the menu displaying the value of the CONSTANT. I hope this makes enough sense...is it even possible to use a constant like this? Thanks.

  • c++ "interface"-like classes similar to Java?

    - by William the Coderer
    In Java, you can define an interface as a class with no actual code implementation, but only to define the methods that a class must implement. Those types can be passed as parameters to methods and returned from methods. In C++, a pure virtual class can't be used as a parameter or return type, from what I can tell. Any way to mimic Java's interface classes? I have a string class in C++, and several subclasses for different encodings (like UTFxxx, ISOxxx, etc) that derive from the base string class. However, since there are so many different encodings, the base class has no meaningful implementation. But it would serve well as an interface if I could handle it as its own object and calls to that object would call on the correct subclass it was inherited to.

  • Dynamically add annotation to an existing class

    - by ng
    I have the following class public class Person { ... } I would like to create another class that would look like this. @SomeAnnotation public class Person { ... } Via a simple method like so. public static Class addAnnotation(Class originalType, Class<? extends Annotation> annotation) { // what goes here? } Is there an easy way to do this via ASM for example? What dependencies would I need. I have tried to Google this however the examples I have found are either incomplete or are doing something else. Other frameworks such as javassist would be just as good.

  • C++: Define simple string?

    - by Jason
    This thing is really wracking my mind. I'm learning C++ and I wanted to define a constant that I can use in another function, A short answer on how to do this will be fine.. Lets say at the beginning of my code I want to define this constant: //After #includes bool OS = 1; //1 = linux if (OS) { const ??? = "clear"; } else { const ??? = "cls"; } I don't know what type to use to define the "clear" string... I'm so confused. Later on I want to use it within a function: int foo() { system(::cls); //:: for global return 0; } How would I define the string up top, and use the string down below? I heard char only had one character and things... I'm not sure how to use , since it says it's converting string into const char or something.

  • Why does C# not allow const and static on the same line?

    - by Cuga
    Why does C# not allow const and static on the same line? In Java, you must declare a field as 'static' and 'final' to act as a constant. Why does C# not let you declare const's as final? I make the further distinction that in Java, every interface is public and abstract, whether this is explicitly declared or not. Aren't const's effectively static in nature? WHy does C# balk at this?

  • How to extend WCF returned class properly?

    - by vikasde
    I am using a WCF service in my project. This service returns a class called "Store". I created a new local class which inherits from "Store". My class is called "ExtendedStore". My ExtendedStore looks like this: class ExtendedStore : StoreManagerService.Store { public int Id; .... } Now I am using the WCF service to cast to my class using the following code: StoreManagerService.StoreClient client = new StoreManagerService.StoreClient(); ExtendedStore store = (ExtendedStore) client.GetStore(); // bombs here I am not able to cast the returned Store class from the service to my ExtendedStore class. I get the below error message: Unable to cast object of type 'ConsoleApplication1.StoreManagerService.Store' to type 'ConsoleApplication1.ExtendedStore'. Shouldn't I be able to cast it? If not, is there a workaround?

  • store in a variable only the first or only the second class of an element

    - by shecky
    I'm using this bit of jQ to add a class to two different elements based on the class of another (parent/grandparent, etc) element: $(document).ready(function(){ var containerClass = $('#main-content').attr('class'); $('#nav-primary li#'+containerClass).addClass('active'); $('#aux-left div[id$='+containerClass+']').addClass('active'); }); Brilliant, but I have two problems with it: First, when there's no class at all in <div id="main-content">, the 'active' class is added to all the #nav-primary LIs, and also to all the #aux-left DIVs; how can I modify this so that in the absence of any class on #main-content, do nothing? Second, how can I target only the first or second of multiple classes to store in the 'containerClass' variable, e.g., <div id="main-content" class="apples bananas">? Very much appreciated! svs

  • Table per subclass inheritance relationship: How to query against the Parent class without loading a

Because of performance issues, What should i do to run a HQL query in order to retrieve the Parent class and just the Parent class without loading any subclass ???

  • How to define a constant when running script/server?

    - by Zeke
    I want to start up my Rails development server like this: script/server OFFLINE_MODE=1 and have a method that checks for the presence of that constant: helper_method :offline_mode? def offline_mode? defined?(OFFLINE_MODE) ? true : false end so I can hide stuff in my app when I'm coding without access to the internet. For some reason though, OFFLINE_MODE doesn't ever seem to be defined and the method always returns false.. thoughts?

  • Link a programmatic instantiation of class x in class y to a view controller of class x

    - by Joel Derfner
    I have classes Compose and Haiku, each connected to a view controller in IB. Haiku is instantiated in Compose as ghhaiku. Haiku has an array, self.arrayOfHaiku, with 117 members. But in Compose, self.ghhaiku.arrayOfHaiku has no members. I think the problem is that I haven't linked the instance of Haiku that has the 117-member array with the instance of Haiku created in Compose. But how do I do that? (I could of course be totally wrong and the problem could be something else, but that seems to make intuitive sense.) Any thoughts?

  • update value of a variable outside a class in VB.NET

    - by dpp
    I have a class derived from a Form, it has textbox for username and password and an OK button. I want it to behave like an InputBox so I can use it like this: Dim Username As String = "" Dim Password As String = "" Dim authorization As New Authorization(Username, Password) authorization.ShowDialog() 'The user will click OK and I will expect the Username and Password to change based on the user input MsgBox(Username & " " & Password) The Authorization class: Public Class Authorization Dim RefUsername As String Dim RefPassword As String Public Sub New(ByRef Username As String, ByRef Password As String) InitializeComponent() RefUsername = Username 'I'm trying to pass reference instead of value RefPassword = Password 'I'm trying to pass reference instead of value End Sub Private Sub OKButton_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles AuthorizeButton.Click RefUsername = Username.Text 'I'm trying to change value of variable outside the class RefPassword = Password.Text 'I'm trying to change value of variable outside the class Me.Close() End Sub End Class In short, I want to change the value of variables outside the class when the user clicks the OK, how am I going to accomplish that?

  • JQuery if/else statement matching a wildcard css name

    - by Neokoenig
    Hi All, I'm trying to write an if/else statement in jQuery which can change an elements class by matching 'IN' or 'OUT' (in this case). I.e, I have several Divs with class='IN-something' OR class='OUT-something'. The below would work if I new the exact CSS class, but all I'll know is whether it contains 'IN' or 'OUT'. So like this, but works: if ($(jRow).hasClass('IN-*')) {jRow.attr( "class", "OUT-foo" );} else {jRow.attr( "class", "IN-foo");} Ideas? Thanks!

  • How is does this module code work?

    - by phsr
    I'm new to ruby and I am trying to figure out how the following code works The following code is inside a class in a module. The method is called later with the following code: @something ||= Module::Class.config class << self def config &block options = OpenStruct.new yield options if block_given? init_client! Client.new(options) end def init_client!(client) base_eigenclass = class << Base; self; end base_eigenclass.send :define_method, :client do @client = client end client end end The class has some constants in it, and when the classes initialize is called, the instance member are set to option.variable || VARIABLE_CONSTANT. I understand that if there is no value for option.variable then VARIABLE_CONSTANT is used, but I don't understand that calling Module::Class.config do |options| #some block end set the @client until config is called again with options The code definitely works, but I want to understand how it does

  • PHP loading / including files only if class is used

    - by MrMalayev
    I have a couple of classes, and certain classes require only a part of an SDK. For example class a { /* requires filea.php*/ } class b { /*requires fileb.php*/ } Instead of including the files at the top like require_once 'filea.php'; require_once 'fileb.php'; class a { /*do stuff*/ } class b { /*do stuff*/ } Can I just include them in the class, so one only loads when an object is made? class a { require filea.php; /*do stuff*/ } class b { require fileb.php; /*do stuff*/ }

  • name of the class that contains the method code

    - by kdlp
    I'm trying to find the name of the class that contains method code. In the example underneath I use self.__class__.__name__, but of course this returns the name of the class of which self is an instance and not class that contains the test() method code. b.test() will print 'B' while I would like to get 'A'. I looked into the inspect module documentation but did not find anything directly useful. class A: def __init__(self): pass def test(self): print self.__class__.__name__ class B(A): def __init__(self): A.__init__(self) a = A() b = B() a.test() b.test()
