  • Removing duplicate solutions

    - by Enoon
    My code merges two lists of lists, item by item, in the following way: mergeL([[a,b],[c,d]], [[1,2],[3,4]], Result). Result = [[a,b,1,2],[c,d,3,4]] And this is the code i use: mergeL([],[],[]). mergeL(List, [], List). mergeL([], List, List). mergeL([X|Rest],[Y|Rest2], [XY|Res2]) :- mergeL(Rest, Rest2, Res2), append(X,Y,XY). This seems to work but if i call it with two lists of the same size i get three repeated results. Example (both list contain only one element): ?- mergeL([[a,b]],[[1,2,3]],Q). Q = [[a, b, 1, 2, 3]] ; Q = [[a, b, 1, 2, 3]] ; Q = [[a, b, 1, 2, 3]]. Is there a clean way to make this output only one solution?

  • How to Get on Google's Top 10 List

    A question I often asked by new clients is why some websites rank higher on Google than others? This question can be difficult to answer because of the number of variables involved and the fact that Google's search algorithms are closely guarded secret. However, there are a number of standards which affect every website regardless of its topic, purpose, or age.

  • Samba login before requesting list of shares?

    - by user69359
    I'm relatively inexperienced at this and am starting to get a little frustrated: I have a Ubuntu Server with several user accounts. The Samba file server hosts a number of public shares + the home directories of each user as a private share. When connecting to the server using my OSX machine, I am prompted to enter my login data, and get a overview of all the public shares + my accounts home directory share. Exactly the way I want it. How ever, when I connect to the server from a Ubuntu machine, I am never prompted to enter any login data, and can only see the public folders. If a user wants to connect to their home directory on the server, they have to go through "connect to server" and mount their specific private share. Is there anyway to configure Samba or the Ubuntu client in a way that will make the user experience more similar to how it is on my OSX box? Thank you for your time!

  • Inserting Records in Ascending Order function- C homework assignment

    - by Aaron McRuer
    Good day, Stack Overflow. I have a homework assignment that I'm working on this weekend that I'm having a bit of a problem with. We have a struct "Record" (which contains information about cars for a dealership) that gets placed in a particular spot in a linked list according to 1) its make and 2) according to its model year. This is done when initially building the list, when a "int insertRecordInAscendingOrder" function is called in Main. In "insertRecordInAscendingOrder", a third function, "createRecord" is called, where the linked list is created. The function then goes to the function "compareCars" to determine what elements get put where. Depending on the value returned by this function, insertRecordInAscendingOrder then places the record where it belongs. The list is then printed out. There's more to the assignment, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. Ideally, and for the assignment to be considered correct, the linked list must be ordered as: Chevrolet 2012 25 Chevrolet 2013 10 Ford 2010 5 Ford 2011 3 Ford 2012 15 Honda 2011 9 Honda 2012 3 Honda 2013 12 Toyota 2009 2 Toyota 2011 7 Toyota 2013 20 from the a text file that has the data ordered the following way: Ford 2012 15 Ford 2011 3 Ford 2010 5 Toyota 2011 7 Toyota 2012 20 Toyota 2009 2 Honda 2011 9 Honda 2012 3 Honda 2013 12 Chevrolet 2013 10 Chevrolet 2012 25 Notice that the alphabetical order of the "make" field takes precedence, then, the model year is arranged from oldest to newest. However, the program produces this as the final list: Chevrolet 2012 25 Chevrolet 2013 10 Honda 2011 9 Honda 2012 3 Honda 2013 12 Toyota 2009 2 Toyota 2011 7 Toyota 2012 20 Ford 2010 5 Ford 2011 3 Ford 2012 15 I sat down with a grad student and tried to work out all of this yesterday, but we just couldn't figure out why it was kicking the Ford nodes down to the end of the list. Here's the code. As you'll notice, I included a printList call at each instance of the insertion of a node. This way, you can see just what is happening when the nodes are being put in "order". It is in ANSI C99. All function calls must be made as they are specified, so unfortunately, there's no real way of getting around this problem by creating a more efficient algorithm. #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <string.h> #define MAX_LINE 50 #define MAX_MAKE 20 typedef struct record { char *make; int year; int stock; struct record *next; } Record; int compareCars(Record *car1, Record *car2); void printList(Record *head); Record* createRecord(char *make, int year, int stock); int insertRecordInAscendingOrder(Record **head, char *make, int year, int stock); int main(int argc, char **argv) { FILE *inFile = NULL; char line[MAX_LINE + 1]; char *make, *yearStr, *stockStr; int year, stock, len; Record* headRecord = NULL; /*Input and file diagnostics*/ if (argc!=2) { printf ("Filename not provided.\n"); return 1; } if((inFile=fopen(argv[1], "r"))==NULL) { printf("Can't open the file\n"); return 2; } /*obtain values for linked list*/ while (fgets(line, MAX_LINE, inFile)) { make = strtok(line, " "); yearStr = strtok(NULL, " "); stockStr = strtok(NULL, " "); year = atoi(yearStr); stock = atoi(stockStr); insertRecordInAscendingOrder(&headRecord,make, year, stock); } printf("The original list in ascending order: \n"); printList(headRecord); } /*use strcmp to compare two makes*/ int compareCars(Record *car1, Record *car2) { int compStrResult; compStrResult = strcmp(car1->make, car2->make); int compYearResult = 0; if(car1->year > car2->year) { compYearResult = 1; } else if(car1->year == car2->year) { compYearResult = 0; } else { compYearResult = -1; } if(compStrResult == 0 ) { if(compYearResult == 1) { return 1; } else if(compYearResult == -1) { return -1; } else { return compStrResult; } } else if(compStrResult == 1) { return 1; } else { return -1; } } int insertRecordInAscendingOrder(Record **head, char *make, int year, int stock) { Record *previous = *head; Record *newRecord = createRecord(make, year, stock); Record *current = *head; int compResult; if(*head == NULL) { *head = newRecord; printf("Head is null, list was empty\n"); printList(*head); return 1; } else if ( compareCars(newRecord, *head)==-1) { *head = newRecord; (*head)->next = current; printf("New record was less than the head, replacing\n"); printList(*head); return 1; } else { printf("standard case, searching and inserting\n"); previous = *head; while ( current != NULL &&(compareCars(newRecord, current)==1)) { printList(*head); previous = current; current = current->next; } printList(*head); previous->next = newRecord; previous->next->next = current; } return 1; } /*creates records from info passed in from main via insertRecordInAscendingOrder.*/ Record* createRecord(char *make, int year, int stock) { printf("CreateRecord\n"); Record *theRecord; int len; if(!make) { return NULL; } theRecord = malloc(sizeof(Record)); if(!theRecord) { printf("Unable to allocate memory for the structure.\n"); return NULL; } theRecord->year = year; theRecord->stock = stock; len = strlen(make); theRecord->make = malloc(len + 1); strncpy(theRecord->make, make, len); theRecord->make[len] = '\0'; theRecord->next=NULL; return theRecord; } /*prints list. lists print.*/ void printList(Record *head) { int i; int j = 50; Record *aRecord; aRecord = head; for(i = 0; i < j; i++) { printf("-"); } printf("\n"); printf("%20s%20s%10s\n", "Make", "Year", "Stock"); for(i = 0; i < j; i++) { printf("-"); } printf("\n"); while(aRecord != NULL) { printf("%20s%20d%10d\n", aRecord->make, aRecord->year, aRecord->stock); aRecord = aRecord->next; } printf("\n"); } The text file you'll need for a command line argument can be saved under any name you like; here are the contents you'll need: Ford 2012 15 Ford 2011 3 Ford 2010 5 Toyota 2011 7 Toyota 2012 20 Toyota 2009 2 Honda 2011 9 Honda 2012 3 Honda 2013 12 Chevrolet 2013 10 Chevrolet 2012 25 Thanks in advance for your help. I shall continue to plow away at it myself.

  • iptables : how to allow incoming ftp traffic?

    - by logansama
    Hi, Still fighting my way through the jungle that is called iptables. I have managed to allow FTP access outside of our LAN: both these would work. NOTE: eth0 is the LAN interface and eth1 is the WAN interface. iptables -t filter -A FORWARD -i eth0 -p tcp --dport 20:21 -j ACCEPT or iptables -A FORWARD -i eth0 -o eth1 -p tcp --sport 20:21 --dport 1024:65535 -j ACCEPT But when i connect to a external FTP server i manage to log in and all is fine until it wishes to List the directory content. Then nothing happens as the data is blocked, due to the fact that i do not have a rule set up to allow it! (my last rule on the FORWARD chain is to block all traffic) I have tried a gazillion rules (many of which i did not understand) to try and allow the FTP traffic back through my server. One such rule for example was: iptables -A FORWARD -i eth1 -o eth0 -p tcp --sport 20:21 --dport 1024:65535 -j ACCEPT But i cannot get the List to work. It just times out after a while. Would anyone perhaps know how to build a rule which would allow FTP to List / allow such traffic back? Or have a link to sources i could work through? Thank you,

  • My facebook blocking ACL has stopped working

    - by Josh
    This probably very simple. This was setup before I arrived, and has been working to block facebook. I recently eliminated some static port forwarding on this 2691 (as in, I don't think anything else has changed), and now facebook is once again accessible. Why is this list not doing what it seems like it should be doing (and was doing)? Would an extended outbound ACL be more appropriate (I think that would have been my thought if I had been tasked with creating this in the first place)? Something different? I've included below what I believe are the relevant parts of the config. interface FastEthernet0/0 ip address my.pub.ip.add my.ip.add.msk ip access-group 1 in ip nat outside ip virtual-reassembly duplex auto speed auto access-list 1 deny 69.171.224.0 0.0.31.255 access-list 1 deny 74.119.76.0 0.0.3.255 access-list 1 deny 204.15.20.0 0.0.3.255 access-list 1 deny 66.220.144.0 0.0.15.255 access-list 1 deny 69.63.176.0 0.0.15.255 access-list 1 permit any ip nat inside source list 105 interface FastEthernet0/0 overload access-list 105 deny ip 192.168.0.0 0.0.0.255 192.168.8.0 0.0.0.255 access-list 105 permit ip 192.168.0.0 0.0.0.255 any access-list 105 permit ip 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.255 any EDIT ACL is once again blocking Facebook. • How to visualize a list of lists of lists of ... in R?

    - by Martin
    Hi there, I have a very deep list of lists in R. Now I want to print this list to the standard output to get a better overview of the elements. It should look like the way the StatET plugin for eclipse shows a list. Example list: l6 = list() l6[["h"]] = "one entry" l6[["g"]] = "nice" l5 = list() l5[["e"]] = l6 l4 = list() l4[["f"]] = "test" l4[["d"]] = l5 l3 = list() l3[["c"]] = l4 l2 = list() l2[["b"]] = l3 l1 = list() l1[["a"]] = l2 This should print like: List of 1 $ a:List of 1 ..$ b:List of 1 .. ..$ c:List of 2 .. .. ..$ f: chr "test" .. .. ..$ d:List of 1 .. .. .. ..$ e:List of 2 .. .. .. .. ..$ h: chr "one entry" .. .. .. .. ..$ g: chr "nice" I know this is possible with recursion and the deepness. But is there a way to do this with the help of rapply or something like that? Thanx in advance, Martin

  • Is this GetEnumAsStrings<T>() method reinventing the wheel?

    - by Edward Tanguay
    I have a number of enums and need to get them as List<string> objects in order to enumerate through them and hence made the GetEnumAsStrings<T>() method. But it seems to me there would be an easier way. Is there not a built-in method to get an enum like this into a List<string>? using System; using System.Collections.Generic; namespace TestEnumForeach2312 { class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { List<string> testModes = StringHelpers.GetEnumAsStrings<TestModes>(); testModes.ForEach(s => Console.WriteLine(s)); Console.ReadLine(); } } public static class StringHelpers { public static List<string> GetEnumAsStrings<T>() { List<string> enumNames = new List<string>(); foreach (T item in Enum.GetValues(typeof(TestModes))) { enumNames.Add(item.ToString()); } return enumNames; } } public enum TestModes { Test, Show, Wait, Stop } }

  • Recursion in assembly?

    - by Davis
    I'm trying to get a better grasp of assembly, and I am a little confused about how to recursively call functions when I have to deal with registers, popping/pushing, etc. I am embedding x86 assembly in C++. Here I am trying to make a method which given an array of integers will build a linked list containing these integers in the order they appear in the array. I am doing this by calling a recursive function: insertElem (struct elem *head, struct elem *newElem, int data) -head: head of the list -data: the number that will be inserted at the end of a list -newElem: points to the location in memory where I will store the new element (data field) My problem is that I keep overwriting the registers instead of a typical linked list. For example, if I give it an array {2,3,1,8,3,9} my linked-list will return the first element (head) and only the last element, because the elements keep overwriting each other after head is no longer null. So here my linked list looks something like: 2--9 instead of 2--3--1--8--3--9 I feel like I don't have a grasp on how to organize and handle the registers. newElem is in EBX and just keeps getting rewritten. Thanks in advance!

  • How to flatten list of options using higher order functions?

    - by Synesso
    Using Scala 2.7.7: If I have a list of Options, I can flatten them using a for-comprehension: val listOfOptions = List(None, Some("hi"), None) listOfOptions: List[Option[java.lang.String]] = List(None, Some(hi), None) scala> for (opt <- listOfOptions; string <- opt) yield string res0: List[java.lang.String] = List(hi) I don't like this style, and would rather use a HOF. This attempt is too verbose to be acceptable: scala> listOfOptions.flatMap(opt => if (opt.isDefined) Some(opt.get) else None) res1: List[java.lang.String] = List(hi) Intuitively I would have expected the following to work, but it doesn't: scala> List.flatten(listOfOptions) <console>:6: error: type mismatch; found : List[Option[java.lang.String]] required: List[List[?]] List.flatten(listOfOptions) Even the following seems like it should work, but doesn't: scala> listOfOptions.flatMap(_: Option[String]) <console>:6: error: type mismatch; found : Option[String] required: (Option[java.lang.String]) => Iterable[?] listOfOptions.flatMap(_: Option[String]) ^ The best I can come up with is: scala> listOfOptions.flatMap(_.toList) res2: List[java.lang.String] = List(hi) ... but I would much rather not have to convert the option to a list. That seems clunky. Any advice?

  • Isn't an Iterator in c++ a kind of a pointer?

    - by Bilthon
    Ok this time I decided to make a list using the STL. I need to create a dedicated TCP socket for each client. So everytime I've got a connection, I instantiate a socket and add a pointer to it on a list. list<MyTcp*> SocketList; //This is the list of pointers to sockets list<MyTcp*>::iterator it; //An iterator to the list of pointers to TCP sockets. Putting a new pointer to a socket was easy, but now every time the connection ends I should disconnect the socket and delete the pointer so I don't get a huge memory leak, right? well.. I thought I was doing ok by setting this: it=SocketList.begin(); while( it != SocketList.end() ){ if((*it)->getClientId() == id){ pSocket = it; // <-------------- compiler complains at this line SocketList.remove(pSocket); pSocket->Disconnect(); delete pSocket; break; } } But the compiler is saying this: error: invalid cast from type ‘std::_List_iterator<MyTcp*>’ to type ‘MyTcp*’ Can someone help me here? i thought I was doing things right, isn't an iterator at any given time just pointing to one of the elements of the set? how can I fix it?

  • Windows 7 install detects SSD but doesn't list it to install to

    - by Mohamed Meligy
    I'm having quite a weird problem when trying to install Windows 7 SP1 on a new Corsair Force Series 3 SSD to replace a failing HDD in my wife's laptop. When I boot to Windows install, it shows that I have no disks to install to, and tells me to find it a driver to any custom disks I may have. When I go to repair option on the first install window, and then open command prompt Window, I can see the disk using diskpart, and can partition it and format partitions, and then later access them from command prompt and copy files to them. After creating partitions, clicking the "browse" button in Windows install screen that shows no disks available to install Windows to, does show the partitions created by diskpart! So, it does detect the disk and partitions, but refuses to list them as options to install to. People on the Interwebs seem to suggest that just running diskpart "clean" solved the issue for most people, just creating an "active" "primary" partition is al most tutorials suggest. Both got me only as far as described above. The BIOS doesn't have RAID option, changing between "ATA" and "AHCI" (the only available options) didn't make any difference. Might be worth mentioning that this is on a laptop that has Sata III controller for main drive (which I connected the Sata3 SSD to), and Sata II for DVD (which I used for Windows install media). That's what googling brings at least (DELL XPS 15 L502). Any ideas? . Update: The SSD is 460 GB. I tried setting it all as one partition and creating 70-90 GB partition as well (NTFS). More importantly, Windows doesn't list the partition as one it cannot install to (which it does with disks in general when they are small for example). What happens here is different. It doesn't list anything at all. It shows empty list of drives.

  • Importing csv list of contacts into Exchange 2007 GAL and create Distribution Group

    - by Ken Ray
    Here's the situation: We have a list of about 1,000 contacts (Lawyers in the area our court serves) with name and email address. I've been asked to create an email distribution list that can be used to sent emails to all of the external users on that list. I've seen various articles using the Exchange Management Shell and the Import-csv command piped through a ForEach-Object to a New-MailContact to set up the contacts. However, Exchange Management Shell is rather unhelpful, and it isn't working. What I believe I need to do is: 1) Set up a new distribution group using the Exchange Management Console. Let's say this new distribution group (which appears in the list of Distribution Groups under Recipient Configuration) is called "FloridaBar". 2) Make sure I have a csv file of the information I want to import. 3) Open Exchange Management Shell, and enter the following command: Import-csv C:\filename.csv | ForEach-Object { New-MailContact -Name $."NameColumnName" -ExternalEmailAddress $."EmailAddressColumn" -org FloridaBar Now, creating 1,000+ contacts in active directory - I assume that shouldn't be an issue. Do I have the "-org" parm wrong? Do I need to spell out the complete organization unit name (my.domain.name/Users/FloridaBar)? Is there a better way of doing this? Thanks in advance Ken

  • C#: BackgroundWorker cloning resources?

    - by Dav
    The problem I've been struggling with this partiular problem for two days now and just run out of ideas. A little... background: we have a WinForms app that needs to access a database, construct a list of related in-memory objects from that data, and then display on a DataGridView. Important point is that we first populate an app-wide cache (List), and then create a mirror of the cache local to the form on which the DGV lives (using List constructor param). Because fetching the data takes a good few seconds (DB sits on a LAN server) to load, we decided to use a BackgroundWorker, and only refresh the DGV once the data is loaded. However, it seems that doing the loading via a BGW results in some memory leak... or an error on my part. When loaded using a blocking method call, the app consumes about 30MB of RAM; with a BGW this jumps to 80MB! While it may not seem as much anyway, our clients are not too happy about it. Relevant code Form private void MyForm_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { MyRepository.Instance.FinishedEvent += RefreshCache; } private void RefreshCache(object sender, EventArgs e) { dgvProducts.DataSource = new List<MyDataObj>(MyRepository.Products); } Repository private static List<MyDataObj> Products { get; set; } public event EventHandler ProductsLoaded; public void GetProductsSync() { List<MyDataObj> p; using (MyL2SDb db = new MyL2SDb(MyConfig.ConnectionString)) { p = db.PRODUCTS .Select(p => new MyDataObj {Id = p.ID, Description = p.DESCR}) .ToList(); } Products = p; // tell the form to refresh UI if (ProductsLoaded != null) ProductsLoaded(this, null); } public void GetProductsAsync() { using (BackgroundWorker myWorker = new BackgroundWorker()) { myWorker.DoWork += delegate { List<MyDataObj> p; using (MyL2SDb db = new MyL2SDb(MyConfig.ConnectionString)) { p = db.PRODUCTS .Select(p => new MyDataObj {Id = p.ID, Description = p.DESCR}) .ToList(); } Products = p; }; // tell the form to refresh UI when finished myWorker.RunWorkerCompleted += GetProductsCompleted; myWorker.RunWorkerAsync(); } } private void GetProductsCompleted(object sender, RunWorkerCompletedEventArgs e) { if (ProductsLoaded != null) ProductsLoaded(this, null); } End! GetProductsSync or GetProductsAsync are called on the main thread, not shown above. Could it be that the GarbageCollector just gets lost with two threads? Or is it the task manager that shows incorrect values? Will be greateful for any responses, suggestions, criticism.

  • Need help with implementation of the jQuery LiveUpdate routine

    - by miCRoSCoPiC_eaRthLinG
    Hey all, Has anyone worked with the LiveUpdate function (may be a bit of a misnomer) found on this page? It's not really a live search/update function, but a quick filtering mechanism for a pre-existing list, based on the pattern you enter in a text field. For easier reference, I'm pasting the entire function in here: jQuery.fn.liveUpdate = function(list){ list = jQuery(list); if ( list.length ) { var rows = list.children('li'), cache = rows.map(function(){ return this.innerHTML.toLowerCase(); }); this .keyup(filter).keyup() .parents('form').submit(function(){ return false; }); } return this; function filter(){ var term = jQuery.trim( jQuery(this).val().toLowerCase() ), scores = []; if ( !term ) { rows.show(); } else { rows.hide(); cache.each(function(i){ var score = this.score(term); if (score > 0) { scores.push([score, i]); } }); jQuery.each(scores.sort(function(a, b){return b[0] - a[0];}), function(){ jQuery(rows[ this[1] ]).show(); }); } } }; I have this list, with members as the ID. And a text field with say, qs as ID. I tried binding the function in the following manner: $( '#qs' ).liveUpdate( '#members' ); But when I do this, the function is called only ONCE when the page is loaded (I put in some console.logs in the function) but never after when text is keyed into the text field. I also tried calling the routine from the keyup() function of qs. $( '#qs' ).keyup( function() { $( this ).liveUpdate( '#members' ); }); This ends up going into infinite loops (almost) and halting with "Too much recursion" errors. So can anyone please shed some light on how I am supposed to actually implement this function? Also while you are at it, can someone kindly explain this line to me: var score = this.score(term); What I want to know is where this member method score() is coming from? I didn't find any such method built into JS or jQuery. Thanks for all the help, m^e

  • TwoWay Binding to ListBox SelectedItem on more than one list box in WPF

    - by Dan Bryant
    I have a scenario where I have a globally available Properties window (similar to the Properties window in Visual Studio), which is bound to a SelectedObject property of my model. I have a number of different ways to browse and select objects, so my first attempt was to bind them to SelectedObject directly. For example: <ListBox ItemsSource="{Binding ActiveProject.Controllers}" SelectedItem="{Binding SelectedObject, Mode=TwoWay}"/> <ListBox ItemsSource="{Binding ActiveProject.Machines}" SelectedItem="{Binding SelectedObject, Mode=TwoWay}"/> This works well when I have more than one item in each list, but it fails if a list has only one item. When I select the item, SelectedObject is not updated, since the list still thinks its original item was selected. I believe this happens because the two way binding simply ignores the update from source when SelectedObject is not an object in the list, leaving the list's SelectedItem unchanged. In this way, the bindings become out of sync. Does anybody know of a way to make sure the list boxes reset their SelectedItem when the SelectedObject is not in the list? Is there a better way to do this that doesn't suffer from this problem?

  • Fast way to get a list of group members in Active Directory with C#

    - by Jeremy
    In a web app, we're looking to display a list of sam accounts for users that are a member of a certain group. Groups could have 500 or more members in many cases and we need the page to be responsive. With a group of about 500 members it takes 7-8 seconds to get a list of sam accounts for all members of the group. Are there faster ways? I know the Active Directory Management Console does it in under a second. I've tried a few methods: 1) PrincipalContext pcRoot = new PrincipalContext(ContextType.Domain) GroupPrincipal grp = GroupPrincipal.FindByIdentity(pcRoot, "MyGroup"); List<string> lst = grp.Members.Select(g => g.SamAccountName).ToList(); 2) PrincipalContext pcRoot = new PrincipalContext(ContextType.Domain) GroupPrincipal grp = GroupPrincipal.FindByIdentity(pcRoot, "MyGroup"); PrincipalSearchResult<Principal> lstMembers = grp.GetMembers(true); List<string> lst = new List<string>(); foreach (Principal member in lstMembers ) { if (member.StructuralObjectClass.Equals("user")) { lst.Add(member .SamAccountName); } } 3) PrincipalContext pcRoot = new PrincipalContext(ContextType.Domain) GroupPrincipal grp = GroupPrincipal.FindByIdentity(pcRoot, "MyGroup"); System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryEntry de = (System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryEntry)grp.GetUnderlyingObject(); List<string> lst = new List<string>(); foreach (string sDN in de.Properties["member"]) { System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryEntry deMember = new System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryEntry("LDAP://" + sDN); lst.Add(deMember.Properties["samAccountName"].Value.ToString()); }

  • What is the best way to save a list of objects to an XML file and load that list back using C#?

    - by Siracuse
    I have a list of "Gesture" classes in my application: List<Gesture> gestures = new List<Gesture>(); These gesture classes are pretty simple: public class Gesture { public String Name { get; set; } public List<Point> Points { get; set; } public List<Point> TransformedPoints { get; set; } public Gesture(List<Point> Points, String Name) { this.Points = new List<Point>(Points); this.Name = Name; } } I would like to allow the user to both save the current state of "gestures" to a file and also be able to load a file that contains the data of the gestures. What is the standard way to do this in C#? Should I use Serialization? Should I write a class to handle writing/reading this XML file by hand myself? Are there any other ways?

  • linq - how to sort a list

    - by Billy Logan
    Hello everyone, I have a linq query that populates a list of designers. since i am using the filters below my sorting is not functioning properly. My question is with the given code below how can i best sort this List after the fact or sort while querying? I have tried to sort the list after the fact using the following script but i receive a compiler error: List<TBLDESIGNER> designers = new List<TBLDESIGNER>(); designers = 'calls my procedure below and comes back with an unsorted list of designers' designers.Sort((x, y) => string.Compare(x.FIRST_NAME, y.LAST_NAME)); Query goes as follows: List<TBLDESIGNER> designer = null; using (SOAE strikeOffContext = new SOAE()) { //Invoke the query designer = AdminDelegates.selectDesignerDesigns.Invoke(strikeOffContext).ByActive(active).ByAdmin(admin).ToList(); } Delegate: public static Func<SOAE, IQueryable<TBLDESIGNER>> selectDesignerDesigns = CompiledQuery.Compile<SOAE, IQueryable<TBLDESIGNER>>( (designer) => from c in designer.TBLDESIGNER.Include("TBLDESIGN") orderby c.FIRST_NAME ascending select c); Filter ByActive: public static IQueryable<TBLDESIGNER> ByActive(this IQueryable<TBLDESIGNER> qry, bool active) { //Return the filtered IQueryable object return from c in qry where c.ACTIVE == active select c; } Filter ByAdmin: public static IQueryable<TBLDESIGNER> ByAdmin(this IQueryable<TBLDESIGNER> qry, bool admin) { //Return the filtered IQueryable object return from c in qry where c.SITE_ADMIN == admin select c; } Thanks in advance, Billy

  • Free Memory Occupied by Std List, Vector, Map etc

    - by Graviton
    Coming from a C# background, I have only vaguest idea on memory management on C++-- all I know is that I would have to free the memory manually. As a result my C++ code is written in such a way that objects of the type std::vector, std::list, std::map are freely instantiated, used, but not freed. I didn't realize this point until I am almost done with my programs, now my code is consisted of the following kinds of patterns: struct Point_2 { double x; double y; }; struct Point_3 { double x; double y; double z; }; list<list<Point_2>> Computation::ComputationJob(list<Point_3> pts3D, vector<Point_2> vectors) { map<Point_2, double> pt2DMap=ConstructPointMap(pts3D); vector<Point_2> vectorList = ConstructVectors(vectors); list<list<Point_2>> faceList2D=ConstructPoints(vectorList , pt2DMap); return faceList2D; } My question is, must I free every.single.one of the list usage ( in the above example, this means that I would have to free pt2DMap, vectorList and faceList2D)? That would be very tedious! I might just as well rewrite my Computation class so that it is less prone to memory leak. Any idea how to fix this?

  • Hiding a button on pushed view and showing it when back to list view

    - by torr
    When I load my list view it has several blog posts and a refresh button on the top left. If I tap on a list item a view is pushed with the contents of that specific post. When this view is pushed in, the refresh button is hidden. But when I tap 'Back' to the parent list view, I'd like the refresh button to show (un-hide) - but it remains hidden. Any idea how to make this work? This is my View: Ext.require(['Ext.data.Store', 'MyApp.model.StreamModel'], function() { Ext.define('MyApp.view.HomeView', { extend: 'Ext.navigation.View', xtype: 'homepanel', requires: [ 'Ext.dataview.List', ], config: { title: 'Home', iconCls: 'home', styleHtmlContent: true, navigationBar: { items: [ { xtype: 'button', iconMask: true, iconCls: 'refresh', align: 'left', action: 'refreshButton', id: 'refreshButtonId' } ] }, items: { title: 'My', xtype: 'list', itemTpl: [ '<div class="post">', ... '</div>' ].join(''), store: new Ext.data.Store({ model: 'MyApp.model.StreamModel', autoLoad: true, storeId: 'stream' }), } } }); }); and my Controller: Ext.define('MyApp.controller.SingleController', { extend: 'Ext.app.Controller', config: { refs: { stream: 'homepanel' }, control: { 'homepanel list': { itemtap: 'showPost' } } }, showPost: function(list, index, element, record) { this.getStream().push({ xtype: 'panel', html: [ '<div class="post">', '</div>' ].join(''), scrollable: 'vertical', styleHtmlContent: true, }); Ext.getCmp('refreshButtonId').hide(); } });
