  • Messages fail to deliver when sending out a mass email

    A client of mine sent out a mass email to a bunch of people on his contact list. A bounceback email was received by my client stating that: "The server has tried to deliver this message, without success, and has stopped trying. Please try sending this message again. If the problem continues, contact your helpdesk." That error is associated with every recipient in that mass email. Any ideas on where to look to resolve this? He is able to send and recieve other emails normally.

  • mass deploy Oracle patches with OEM with different OS's

    I have not been able to get this to work. We are running our OEM grid control database/oms on Red Hat 5(32 bit), but our databases are on Solaris x86-64. I could not mass deploy agents since the Operating Systems were different. When I download patches it is by OS. Is there a way to mass deploy to multiple operating systems? I have alot of databases. I was given the redhat server for OEM because it was available. We are have 10.1,10.2, and 11.1 databases. OEM DB is 10.2.0.5

It seems like this should be pretty easy but I just cannot get it. Is "foo" stored somewhere relative to the bottom of the stack, and the compiler stores this as "hey, for each thread, have this space near the bottom of the stack, and foo is stored as 'offset x from bottom of stack'"?

  • Looking for the most painless non-RDBMS storage method in C#

    I'm writing a simple program that will run entirely client-side. (Desktop programming? do people still do that?) and I need a simple way to store trivial amounts of data in a structured form, but really don't see any need to use a database system. What's more, some of the data needs to be serialized and passed around to different users, like some kind of "file" or perhaps a "document". (has anyone ever done that before?) So, I've looked at using .Net DataSets, LINQ, direct XML manipulation, and they all seem like they would get the job done, but I would like to know before I dive into any of them if there's one method that is generally regarded as easier to code than others. As I said, the amount of data to be stored is trivial, even if one hundred people all used the same machine we're not talking about more than 10 MB, so performance is not as large a concern as is codeability/maintainability. The data is accessed from an AppWidgetProvider (similar to a BroadcastReceiver), and any given instance of the widget displays different data based on appWidgetId.   • Checking if a blob exists in Azure Storage

    Hi, I've got a very simple question (I hope!) - I just want to find out if a blob (with a name I've defined) exists in a particular container. I'll be downloading it if it does exist, and if it doesn't then I'll do something else. I've done some searching on the intertubes and apparently there used to be a function called DoesExist or something similar... but as with so many of the Azure APIs, this no longer seems to be there (or if it is, has a very cleverly disguised name). Or maybe I'm missing something simple... :) John

    I am considering a web application that would have the same kind of multi user, automatic saving, infinite undo / replay capabilities that you see in Google Wave and Etherpad (albeit on a drastically smaller scale and userbase). Before I go away and reinvent the wheel, is this something that has already been addressed as either a piece of technology or library, or even just a design pattern. I know this isn't necessarily the best Stack Overflow question as there is probably not a "right" answer, but my Google-fu has failed me and I'd just like a reading list! Ordinarily I would be developing under python/django but this is not a firm requirement just a preference :)

    Hi, Does anyone have a good suggestion on how to do video recording? We have a camera that can record and then stream live video to a server. So this means we can have 1000's of cameras sending data 24X7 for recording. We will store data for over 7 / 14 / 30 days depending on the package. Per day if a camera is sending data to the server then it will store 1.5GB. So that means there is a traffic of 1.5GB / day / camera Total monthly 45GB / month / camera (Data + bandwidth for one camera) Please let me know the most cost effective way to get this data stored?     I'm pulling a lot of text from a MS SQL Server database. I'm not getting all the text (which includes some html. The text is stored perfectly on the database. However, when I run the query to get the data It will only pull part of the text. I pull the data using odbc_exec and store using $variable = odbc_result($runquery,"body"). if i display the content with odbc_result_all($runquery) i get part of the content. if I use echo $body; i get part of the content then some garbage and part of the text from the begining. very strange response. Is there a size limit? Any ideas what I'm missing here?

    I'd like to unplug my USB mass storage device, but I get the following error message from Windows: Windows can't stop your 'XYZ' device because it is in use. Close any programs or windows that might be using the device, and then try again later. How can I find out which application locks the device, so I can safely unplug it without having to close all running applications first? Note: I'm working on a Windows Vista system.

    I'm currently using ubuntu 12.04 which has grub2 and wanted to install windows 8 from my USB, i also created a bootable usb flash drive using windows 7 dvd download tool, the problem is - I formatted my hard drive and whenever i try to boot from the flash drive i get an error "error: unknown filesystem" and gives grub rescue prompt, since my dvd drive is not working the only way for me to install win8 is from USB,can anybody help me with this?

    I was wondering how to encrypt my external HDD so that my data would be safe AND accessible from any OS platform (Windows and Linux). So I went through many posts and forums and found out the best thing was to use true crypt. I went along with this post and encrypt my USB drive. When inserted that, Windows didn't recognize it. Then I followed another post that said to install truecrypt. The thing is : How can i use traveler disk setup in Ubuntu (Option not found)? Install truecrypt in USB so that i can *mount my USB or HDD on any other OS? If there is no solution for the upper two, then is there any other software which I can use to encrypt an USB device so that it can be accessed from any OS?

Is there a way I can get hold of files I saved when Ubuntu was working?   • Numpad doesn't work after booting up - forced to reconnect USB keyboard after startup

    I've tried this on two different USB keyboards - both of which work fine on a different computer running Windows XP. For some reason, the numerical keypad doesn't work probably immediately after booting up - neither the numbers work, nor the 'home' commands and so on that you can use with the numlock off. It doesn't make a difference whether I press numlock on or off - the keypad doesn't work correctly no matter what state this is in. However, once I've booted the machine I can disconnect/reconnect the USB connector for the keyboard, and it will work exactly as expected. I'm running Gnome on Ubuntu 10.04. The only other USB devices connected is a mouse - and I've experienced no problems with that. This is a direct connection to the box (not via an external USB hub)

    I have a Sony laptop (VPCEH25EN) and i am trying to install Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. I downloaded the iso named "ubuntu-12.04-desktop-amd64.iso". For installing i created a bootable USB using UltraISO. When i booted the USB it hangs and shows " Booting from USB ", I even left it for hours and it didn't moved a bit. When I booted the ISO in Virtual Box, it ran well. I even used other tools to make a bootable USB, then it says " BOOTMNGR missing ". Please help, I am new to Ubuntu and my optical drive is fried. Thanks in advance..
