• iphone sqlite3 UPDATE with LIMIT and OFFSET clause

  Does anyone know if the LIMIT and OFFSET clause work when using the UPDATE statement on iphone. on the sqlite3 website it says "if SQLite is built with the SQLITE_ENABLE_UPDATE_DELETE_LIMIT compile-time option then the syntax of the UPDATE statement is extended with optional ORDER BY and LIMIT clauses.." if not, can it be enabled? I'm using "UPDATE TESTDATA SET VAR = 1 LIMIT 1 OFFSET 1" but i get an error: near "LIMIT": syntax error I can get LIMIT and OFFSET clause to work on a SELECT statement. Are there any other ways around this?

  Hi, can anyone tell me, how to retrieve joined result from multiple tables in cakePHP ( using cakePHP mvc architecture). For example, I have three tables to join (tbl_topics, tbl_items, tbl_votes. Their relationship is defined as following: a topic can have many items and an item can have many votes. Now I want to retrieve a list of topics with the count of all votes on all items for each topic. The SQL query for this is written below: SELECT Topic.*, count(Vote.id) voteCount FROM tbl_topics AS Topic LEFT OUTER JOIN tbl_items AS Item ON (Topic.id = Item.topic_id) LEFT OUTER JOIN tbl_votes AS Vote ON (Item.id = Vote.item_id); My problem is I can do it easily using $this-><Model Name>->query function, but this requires sql code to be written in the controller which I don't want. I'm trying to find out any other way to do this (like find()).

• Python: convert buffer type of SQLITE column into string

  I am new to Python 2.6. I have been trying to fetch date datetime value which is in yyyy-mm-dd hh:m:ss format back in my Python program. On checking the column type in Python I get the error: 'buffer' object has no attribute 'decode'. I want to use the strptime() function to split the date data and use it but I can't find how to convert a buffer to string.   OK, Im trying to highlight keywords in a richtextbox, the problem is I've got the code to highlight only the visible text on textChanged event,so I tryed putting the code in the richtextbox VScroll, so when I scrolled up it would highlight the text that wasn't visible before, but every time I start to scroll I get this error: "An unhandled exception of type 'System.StackOverflowException' occurred in System.Windows.Forms.dll" Does any one know why? Or maybe a way I could highlight the words while scrolling? • Visual Web Developer 2005 Express loads very slowly

  I admit that I am not a guru of Visual Studio products at all. I am using Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition and I'm trying to load someone else's project. This project happens to be a website with many pages. After loading VWD, it asks for a project to open and I select the solution file. It then proceeds to take an extremely long time to load. The status bar indicates that references are being loaded, many of which are in the System.Web.* area it seems. It seems like it's going back and forth between some different packages. The loading time is upwards of 20 to 30 minutes or more. Some others have stated that their projects open fine when they go to File Open Website... and choose the project directory from there. Any ideas what the problem could be and how to fix it? Edit: It finally completed loading after an hour approximately.

  I am doing geolocation, and Django does not have a PointField. So, I am forced to writing in RAW SQL. • Cannot combine commits using TortoiseGit

  I have two branches with several commits each. On one branch, I can go to the log, select two commits, and TortoiseGit shows "combine to one commit" in the context menu. On the other branch this option does not show in the context menu. Both sequence of commits is very similar; add file then modify it, so there is no difference really between the branches. What factors would cause this "combine to one commit" to not be available? I'm wondering if I should just switch to the command line.

• Jing + swfobject 2.2 = big video in small div

  I am trying to use swfobject 2.2 to display an swf, but the swf won't scale to fit the div that I'm putting it in. You can see what I've got here. When it first loads, it is the right size, then it expands larger for some reason. If I right-click on the movie and select "Show All", it then fits perfectly. • Sequel Migration not running up?

  Having some trouble with the Migrations in Sequel and could use another set of eyes. I am running a migration that looks ok but no table is created. It is definitely connecting because I can see the schema_info table has been created. -M 0/1 changes the version as you would expect but still no table. • Mouse interaction in ListBoxItem children (WPF)

  I have a ListBox with an ItemTemplate that contains a control that interacts with the mouse. This interfers with the selection functionality of the ListBox, i.e. clicking a control does not select the item. This is because ListBoxItem sets the Handled property of the mouse event to true in OnMouseLeftButtonDown. I tried the following protected override void OnMouseLeftButtonDown(MouseButtonEventArgs e) { base.OnMouseLeftButtonDown(e); e.Handled = false; } but the ListBoxItem “takes over” the mouse and prevents the control from doing its own interaction. Then I had another idea protected override void OnMouseLeftButtonDown(MouseButtonEventArgs e) { base.OnMouseLeftButtonDown(e); ((ListBoxItem)VisualTreeHelper.GetParent(VisualTreeHelper.GetParent(VisualTreeHelper.GetParent(this)))).IsSelected = true; } which actually works, but feels more like an ugly kludge than an elegant solution. Are there any better solutions that don't rely on the exact contents of the visual tree?

  I'm trying to do a left join in subsonic 3 using linq but it doesn't seem to work, I get a big error. var post = from p in Post.All() join q in Quote.All() on p.ID equals q.PostID into pq where p.ID == id.Value from qt in pq.DefaultIfEmpty() select new {p, qt}; I'm using subsonic 3, latest GIT version from Rob, but I'm getting an error, see below, when I try a left join. I have searched but I didn't found any solution. Can anyone explain to me why the error and how to fix it?   Hi everybody! Just learning Silverlight 4/RIA and i 'm stuck in a weird problem: setup an ASP.NET MVC project as the project hosting the Domain service. In this i tried to get data from the Domain Service which worked fine (i'm using a repository in it). Now i tried to setup a SL4 project. I want to be able to create a form on the home page to allow people to select the 'make', which will then update the 'models' list based on the 'make' the user selects, 'year' to and from, and 'amount' to and from. What the user selects will of course alter the list of used cars, whether that's on the existing used cars page or a new page. • My app has some basic problems, and it stops working

  I am writing a basic application which contains two activities. Both contain a TextView showing the title and the first one contains an EditText in which the user types a message and clicks on a button on its side, the second activity is launched which shows the message the user types. It has the following problems: The title (the first TextView in both the activities) doesn't show in the middle of the line, despite of the android:gravity="center_horizontal" attribute. The EditText in the first activity does not show at all. When I click on the button, the app stops saying "Unfortunately Write n Display and stopped.", rather than launching the second activity at all. I don't have adequate knowledge about logcat, but I have followed the steps somebody had told me, that is WindowOpen Perspective Other DDMS Then run the app and select the package name from the Devices and click on log cat, select the exception(s) and export to text file.   It is an iPad app based on SDK 3.2. I have a MainUIView, that is subclass from UIView, it have a UIButton and a UILabel. When user press the UIButton, the pop over control will be appeared with a table view. When the user select a cell from the table view, the UILabel changes content base on the user click, and the pop up table view will disappear. The question is, how can I pass the "selected cell" to the UILabel. I am thinking making a "middle man" object. When the user click the UIButton, and the "middle man" will pass to the table. When the cell is selected, the "middle man" will store the idx, and call the UILabel change content from the value of "middle man". But I think it is pretty complex to implement, is there any easier way to implement it? thz u.

What strategy can I apply to try to optimize searching thru encrypted column?
