  Hello, I have tried to use mysql fulltext search in my intranet. I wanted to use it to search in multiple tables, and get the independant results depending on tables in the result page. • Best practice to pass a value from pop over control on iPad.

  It is an iPad app based on SDK 3.2. I have a MainUIView, that is subclass from UIView, it have a UIButton and a UILabel. When user press the UIButton, the pop over control will be appeared with a table view. When the user select a cell from the table view, the UILabel changes content base on the user click, and the pop up table view will disappear. The question is, how can I pass the "selected cell" to the UILabel. I am thinking making a "middle man" object. When the user click the UIButton, and the "middle man" will pass to the table. When the cell is selected, the "middle man" will store the idx, and call the UILabel change content from the value of "middle man". But I think it is pretty complex to implement, is there any easier way to implement it? thz u.

• Compare two String with MySQL

  Hi, I wan't to compare two strings in a SQL request so I can retrieve the best match, the aim is to propose to an operator the best zip code possible. For example, in France, we have Integer Zip code, so I made an easy request : SELECT * FROM myTable ORDER BY abs(zip_code - 75000) This request returns first the data closest of Paris. Unfortunatelly, United Kingdom have zip code like AB421RS, so my request can't do it. I see in SQL Server a function 'Difference' : http://www.java2s.com/Code/SQLServer/String-Functions/DIFFERENCEworkoutwhenonestringsoundssimilartoanotherstring.htm But I use MySQL.. Is there anyone who have a good idea to do the trick in one simple request ? PS : the Levenshtein Distance will not do it, as I really wan't to compare string like if they were number. ABCDEF have to be closer to AWXYZ than to ZBCDEF.

• Mouse interaction in ListBoxItem children (WPF)

  I have a ListBox with an ItemTemplate that contains a control that interacts with the mouse. This interfers with the selection functionality of the ListBox, i.e. clicking a control does not select the item. This is because ListBoxItem sets the Handled property of the mouse event to true in OnMouseLeftButtonDown. I tried the following protected override void OnMouseLeftButtonDown(MouseButtonEventArgs e) { base.OnMouseLeftButtonDown(e); e.Handled = false; } but the ListBoxItem “takes over” the mouse and prevents the control from doing its own interaction. Then I had another idea protected override void OnMouseLeftButtonDown(MouseButtonEventArgs e) { base.OnMouseLeftButtonDown(e); ((ListBoxItem)VisualTreeHelper.GetParent(VisualTreeHelper.GetParent(VisualTreeHelper.GetParent(this)))).IsSelected = true; } which actually works, but feels more like an ugly kludge than an elegant solution. Are there any better solutions that don't rely on the exact contents of the visual tree?

• MSNP-Sharp Example fails to login, gives SocketException

  I've just downloaded the MSNP-Sharp library with the aim of creating my own messaging client, however I am struggling to get the example to sign in. The code all compiles and runs, but when I provide my login details and select "Login" I almost immediately get the following SocketException: "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 64.4.9.254:1863" I've stepped through the code and it's the messenger.Connect() function that is causing this, somewhat obviously. When I run the example I only change the login and password details. I am running Windows 7 x86 with the latest version of Windows Live Messenger. I have tried disabling my antivirus, even going as far as to temporarily uninstall it in case that was the error. I have also tried disabling Windows Firewall, with no luck.

  I am trying to use an xmlpoke task to update a VS Project File (which is XML). In the Project root, there are multiple PropertyGroup nodes, I am trying to select the first one. The XML looks like this <Project> <PropertyGroup> </PropertyGroup> <PropertyGroup> </PropertyGroup> <PropertyGroup> </PropertyGroup> </Project> I am using an xpath of //Project/PropertyGroup[1] to get the first PropertyGroup, but I get the error: “Non-unique xpath given //Project/PropertyGroup[1]”.

• Problem with numbers

  I am given a number N, and i must add some numbers from the array V so that they wil be equal. V is consisting of numbers that are all powers of 3: N = 17 S = 0 V = 1 3 9 27 81 .. I should add numbers from V to N and S in order to make them equal. The solution to the example above is : 17 + 1 + 9 = 27, 27, 1 and 9 are taken from V, a number from V can be taken only once, and when taken it's removed from V. I tried sorting V and then adding the biggest numbers from V to S until S has reached N, but it fails on some tests when it's like: N = 7 S = 0 V = 1 3 9 27 So the solution will be: 7 + 3 = 9 + 1 In examples like this i need to add numbers both to N and S, and also select them so they become equal. Any idea of solving this ? Thanks.

  While trying to query some data using the Linq Entity Framework I'm receiving the following exception: {"Conversion failed when converting the varchar value '3208,7' to data type int."} The thing that is confusing is that this value does not even exist in the view I am querying from. It does exist in the table the view is based on, however. The query I'm running is the following: return context.vb_audit_department .Where(x => x.department_id == department_id && x.version_id == version_id) .GroupBy(x => new { x.action_date, x.change_type, x.user_ntid, x.label }) .Select(x => new { action_date = x.Key.action_date, change_type = x.Key.change_type, user_ntid = x.Key.user_ntid, label = x.Key.label, count = x.Count(), items = x }) .OrderByDescending(x => x.action_date) .Skip(startRowIndex) .Take(maximumRows) .ToList(); Can somebody explain why LINQ queries the underlying table instead of the actual view, and if there is any way around this behavior?

  Hey all, I generate normal links like: <a href="/path/to/image"><img src="/path/to/image" /></a> in a web app. When I click on the link, it displays the picture in a new page. If you want to save the picture, then you need to right click on it and select "save as" I don't want this behaviour, I would like to have a download box popping out when I click on the link, is that possible just with html or javascript? How? If not I guess I would have to write a download.php scrit and call it into the href with the file name as parameter...? Greetings! :)

But if the next product matching the criteria in the query is 2 or more ID's ahead my cycle breaks. So is there a way for skipping this rows and get the next ID matching the criteria.   Hi, We have a web application running in a production enviroment and at some point the client complained about how slow the application got. When we checked what was going on with the application and the database we discover this "precious" query that was being executed by several users at the same time (thus inflicting a extremely high load on the database server): SELECT NULL AS table_cat, o.owner AS table_schem, o.object_name AS table_name, o.object_type AS table_type, NULL AS remarks FROM all_objects o WHERE o.owner LIKE :1 ESCAPE :"SYS_B_0" AND o.object_name LIKE :2 ESCAPE :"SYS_B_1" AND o.object_type IN(:"SYS_B_2", :"SYS_B_3") ORDER BY table_type, table_schem, table_name Our application does not execute this query, I believe it is an Hibernate internal query. I've found little information on why Hibernate does this extremely heavy query, so any help is very much appreciated! The production enviroment information: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.3 (Tikanga), JDK 1.5, web container OC4J (whitin Oracle Application Server), Oracle Database 10g Release 10.0.0.1, JDBC Driver for JDK 1.2 and 1.3, Hibernate version 3.2.6.ga. • Last byte missing when casting from varbinary to varchar

  I got the last byte losing when converting varbinary to varchar in some case. For example: DECLARE @binary varbinary(8000), @char varchar(8000) set @binary = 0x000082 set @char = CAST(@binary as varchar(8000)) select BinaryLength=DATALENGTH(@binary), CharLength=DATALENGTH(@char) The result is BinaryLength CharLength 3 2 The affected byte value is from 0x81 - 0xFE. The stranger thing is that if I use varchar(MAX) instead varchar(8000) when casting, there is no any problem. Could someone tell me the root cause of the issue? PS: I run the sql in MS SQL server 2008. Thanks!

A notification should be sent out 21 months after certification. So my query needs to include all customers where their AssessmentCompletedDate + 21months < currentDate. How do I achieve this? Is there a month add method in nhibernate?   What is the best way to handle following situation? A dropdown(for master table) is optional in a particular form. But, In database table the field is constrained with foreign key. If user don't select from dropdown then It creates problem because of foreign key. One solution is to create default option in master table and use it in case of blank selection. but in dropdown, we need to handle this to show on top. Is it perfect solution?   Hi There, I have an Entity Model that has Items, which can belong to one or more categories, and which can have one or more tags. I need to write a query that finds all tags for a given ItemCategory, preferably with a single call to the database, as this is going to get called fairly often. I currently have: Dim q = (From ic In mContext.ItemCategory _ Where ic.CategoryID = forCategoryID _ Select ic).SelectMany(Function(cat) cat.Items).SelectMany(Function(i) i.Tags) _ .OrderByDescending(Function(t) t.Items.Count).ToList This is nearly there, apart from it doesn't contain the items for each tag, so I'd have to iterate through, loading the item reference to find out how many items each tag is related to (for font sizing). Ideally, I want to return a List(Of TagCount), which is just a structure, containing Tag as string, and Count as integer. I've looked at Group and Join, but I'm not getting anywhere so any help would be greatly appreciated!

• JQuery Passing Variable From href to load()

  I am trying to pass an href id to load() in JQuery, I can see from the alert the returned id# 960, so I know the id value is getting past I just don't know how to append the load url, well the $("#refreshme_"+add_id) is the important part, I use that to refresh the unique div id in the page assigned by the database pull, so it would be looking for id="refreshme_960". My simple example that is obviously not working. I want to refresh the db select part of the page showing the new list of cars. • How do I detect the environment in Salesforce?

  I am integrating our back end systems with Salesforce using the web services. I have production and stage environments running on different URLs. I need to be able to have the endpoint of the web service call be different depending on whether the code is running in the production or sandbox Salesforce instance. How do I detect the environment. Currently I am considering looking up a user to see if there user name ends in 'devsandbox' as I have been unable to identify a system object that I can query to get the environment.   Hello! I'm looking for a basic code samples of how to upload files to server with HTTP POST method on Qt. My task: I have simple Qt program and I need to select any image file from the local host and upload it to the server. The selection part and GUI is simple and I have already done it, but with POST uploading I'm confused. In addition I have to say, that there is no authorization to upload file. If someone already looking this topic? PS: the reason why I'm asking and not coding my self is time, I need to get this method quick.   Hi, I have a ListBox bound to an ObservableCollection with an ItemTemplate that contains another ListBox. First of all, I tried to get the last selected item of all the listboxes (either the parent and the inner ones) from my MainWindowViewModel this way: public object SelectedItem { get { return this.selectedItem; } set { this.selectedItem = value; base.NotifyPropertyChanged("SelectedItem"); } } So, for example, in the DataTemplate of the items of the parent ListBox I've got this: <ListBox ItemsSource="{Binding Tails}" SelectedItem="{Binding Path=DataContext.SelectedItem, RelativeSource={RelativeSource FindAncestor, AncestorType={x:Type Window}}}"/> The problem now, is that when I select an item from the parent ListBox and then an item from a child listbox, I get this: http://i40.tinypic.com/j7bvig.jpg As you can see, two items are selected at the same time. • Best Installation Software?

  I am interested in knowing what the best software would be to build an installation package that performs the following: (1) Installs client application (2) Detects all SQL server instances on network, allowing user to select specific database to upgrade (which would then upgrade database using an embedded SQL script) (3) Installs website on a server/location specified by user, and configures IIS 6.0 and/or 7.0 based on settings that I specify. (4) Creates a simple setup.exe - and allows user to choose installation components (listed above, i.e install client app, sql server database, and/or website), and then download selected components from remove server. I have tried NSIS - as was able to create an installation package that will download a compressed (gzip) component from a remote server, decompress the file, install the components, and then remove the gzip file. So, this worked beautifully. The part where I am stuck is to be able to perform the database upgrade and website install. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks. Chris

• Problem retrieving Hostaddress from Win32_TCPIPPrinterPort

  I'm running into an odd issue retrieving printer port addresses. When I get all the entries in Win32_TCPIPPrinterPort, the HostAddress field (which should have the IP address) is usually blank/null, only the port name has a value. To make it a bit stranger, if a particular port is not in use by any printer, THEN the HostAddress will have the the proper value. The C# code is simple, and results in something like this; IP_192.168.1.100, printerportxyz, richTextBox1.Clear(); ManagementObjectSearcher portSearcher = new ManagementObjectSearcher("root\\CIMV2", "SELECT * FROM Win32_TCPIPPrinterPort"); foreach (ManagementObject port in portSearcher.Get()) { richTextBox1.AppendText( String.Format("Name: {0} HostAddress: {1}", port["Name"], port["HostAddress"]) ); } I also tried the same thing in WSH/VBS, and saw the same behavior.
