    - by newbie
I am a newbie in Python. I want to substract interval time from my log file, but the problem is I cannot convert millisecond string of log file into datetime format. For example, I have 15:55:05.12345 and I want to remove 5.12345 seconds from this string, and shwow result of 15.55.00.00000 in Python. How can I do that? Currently, I am using python 2.5. Thank you in advance.

  • What are the limitations of a STA thread in compare to MTA threads ?

    - by Xaqron
If we make a thread STA like this: Thread.SetApartmentState(STA); then it cannot run code marked with [MTAThread] attribute. We have seen [STAThread] in windows and console applications but I have never seen code with [MTAThread] attribute and don't know which .NET libraries use this attribute. My question is what are the limitations of a thread with apartment state set to STA, in compare to threads with MTA apartment state (natural .NET threads) ?

  • SQL Server 2000: Why is this query w/ variables so slow vs w/o variables?

    - by William DiStefano
I can't figure out why this query would be so slow with variables versus without them. I read some where that I need to enable "Dynamic Parameters" but I cannot find where to do this. DECLARE @BeginDate AS DATETIME ,@EndDate AS DATETIME SELECT @BeginDate = '2010-05-20' ,@EndDate = '2010-05-25' -- Fix date range to include time values SET @BeginDate = CONVERT(VARCHAR(10), ISNULL(@BeginDate, '01/01/1990'), 101) + ' 00:00' SET @EndDate = CONVERT(VARCHAR(10), ISNULL(@EndDate, '12/31/2099'), 101) + ' 23:59' SELECT * FROM claim c WHERE (c.Received_Date BETWEEN @BeginDate AND @EndDate) --this is much slower --(c.Received_Date BETWEEN '2010-05-20' AND '2010-05-25') --this is much faster

  • Alias for EditorAttribute

    - by Johan
Is there a way to create a shorter alias for an EditorAttribute? Instead of: [EditorAttribute(typeof<ColorPickerDialogPropertyValueEditor>, typeof<DialogPropertyValueEditor>)] public Color4 Color { get; set; } I would like to write: using ColorPicker = EditorAttribute(typeof<ColorPickerDialogPropertyValueEditor>, typeof<DialogPropertyValueEditor>) [ColorPicker] public Color4 Color { get; set; } Unfortunately the EditorAttribute class is sealed so I cannot inherit it.

  • Android: View.getTag/setTag and IllegalArgumentException

    - by Sparafusile
Yes, I know you need a unique resource id when calling the version of these functions that requires a key, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to create a resource id that can be used in this way. A final variable in my class wont work and neither will a hard coded value. Both threw an IllegalArgumentException. So what gives, how do you use these methods? Spara

  • How to hide files generated by custom tool in Visual Studio

    - by jws
WPF code behind is not displayed in the Visual Studio project view, yet is compiled with the project and is available in IntelliSense. This code behind file (Window1.g.i.cs, for example), is generated by a custom tool. I would like the files generated by my custom tool to be hidden as well, but I cannot find any documentation on how this is done. How can I do this?

  • If you are a hard core .NET programmer, would you invest in learning Java

    - by GarbageGuy
Learning just another language is not much work. However, getting familiar with all the supporting libraries is veeeery expensive and actually you cannot go too far without that. Would you consider a worthy career investment to learn java once you already are an accepted professional of .NET or you would rather invest the same amount of energy to get deeper in the things you already know?

  • I need to auto_increment a field in MySQL that is not primary key

    - by behrk2
Hey everyone, Right now, I have a table whose primary key is an auto_increment field. However, I need to set the primary key as username, date (to ensure that there cannot be a duplicate username with a date). I need the auto_increment field, however, in order to make changes to row information (adding and deleting). What is normally done with this situation? Thanks!

  • Naming member functions/methods with a single underscore, good style or bad?

    - by Extrakun
In some languages where you cannot override the () operator, I have seen methods with a single underscore, usually for 'helper' classes. Something likes this: class D10 { public function _() { return rand(1,10); } } Is it better to have the function called Roll()? Is a underscore fine? After all, there is only one function, and it removes the need to look up the name of the class. Any thoughts?

  • setting user.dir system property in JBoss 5.1

    - by Spiderman
In JBoss 4.2.3 the System property 'user.dir' is defined to be <JBoss-root>/bin when I ran the same application on JBoss 5.1 I noticed that it cannot find the System property user.dir why there is no default definition for version 5.1? and how can I define it manually? I followed this suggestion and added my property into properties-service.xml but it had no affect and still JBoss couldn't find the system:user.dir value.

  • Floating point precision and physics calculations

    - by Vee
The gravity Vector2 in my physics world is (0; 0.1). The number 0.1 is known to be problematic, since "it cannot be represented exactly, but is approximately 1.10011001100110011001101 × 2-4". Having this value for the gravity gives me problems with collisions and creates quite nasty bugs. Changing the value to 0.11 solves these problems. Is there a more elegant solution that doesn't require changing the value at all?
