What I would like to do is something like this capture a frame then do some image processing on it and display the output and then move on to the next frame. Can I can access to web-cam frame events or is there any efficient way to achieve this?

  • ASP.NET MVC : Good Replacement for User Control?

    I found user controls to be incredibly useful when working with ASP.NET webforms. By encapsulating the code required for displaying a control with the markup, creation of reusable components was very straightforward and very, very useful. While MVC provides convenient separation of concerns, this seems to break encapsulation (ie, you can add a control without adding or using its supporting code, leading to runtime errors). Having to modify a controller every time I add a control to a view seems to me to integrate concerns, not separate them. I'd rather break the purist MVC ideology than give up the benefits of reusable, packaged controls. I need to be able to include components similar to webforms user controls throughout a site, but not for the entire site, and not at a level that belongs in a master page. These components should have their own code not just markup (to interact with the business layer), and it would be great if the page controller didn't need to know about the control. Since MVC user controls don't have codebehind, I can't see a good way to do this.   • Hide jQuery Accordion while loading

    I am testing a site build with a slow connection and I noticed the jQuery Accordion stays expanded for a long time, until the rest of the site is loaded, and then finally collapses. Not very pretty. I was wondering how I could keep it collapsed through the loading process and only expand when clicked. I am working with the standalone 1.6 version of the accordion plugin. The basic structure : <div class="sidebar"> <ul id="navigation" class="ui-accordion-container"> <li><a class="head" href="#">1</a> <ul class="sub"> <li><a href="#">1a</a></li> <li><a href="#">2a</a></li> </ul> </li> </ul> </div> and the script jQuery().ready(function(){ jQuery('#navigation').accordion({ active: 'false', header: '.head', navigation: true, animated: 'easeslide', collapsible: true }); }); I tried to hide the elements in the CSS to keep them from appearing while loading but all that achieved is in having them always hidden.   • When does a PHP script end?

    In my mind, a web app something that runs continuously; therefore, I'm confused by documentation pages that talk about the "end" of a PHP script (eg this one). Such references seem to refer to the end of each web request, but if the script ends there, doesn't that mean that the OS has to setup a whole new process for each request? That seems unlikely, because spinning up a whole new process is expensive, and be very inefficient for the whole site.

    I am working on putting the Facebook "Like" iframe on a site, and I am trying to follow the example found at http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like. I am putting in code similar to this: <meta property="og:image" content="http://ia.media-imdb.com/rock.jpg"/> But when I "Like" a page, it doesn't do anything with the image that I am aware of. Does anyone know what that data is supposed to do?

    Hello there, all of my Joomla site's contents shows apostrophes as \' instead of just '. Now my head is spinning from looking at all the million places where individual components and joomla itself does add/remove slashes and deals with magic quotes and all of this... I also found that one can rather easily write one's own OutputFilter for the patTemplate, so I thought maybe I would just do a str_replace of all \' to '. Doesn't sound right. How to deal with these apostrophes?

    Hello, I have a transparent table with width:100% which contains some html content. I use the table in order to position a content element on the screen center. The table captures mouse events, and the user can't press on links which are positioned beneath it (although it is transparent). Is there a way to tell the browser to ignore events on the table?
