How to migrate safely with the minimum SEO problems? (I know how to export content in wordpress.com and import it to a new wordpress.org blog.) Note 1: links structure and site design are different on the new wordpress blog. • iPack -The iOS Application Packager

  iOS applications are distributed in .ipa archive files. These files are regular zip files which contain application resources and executable-s. To protect them from unauthorized modifications and to provide identification of their sources, the content of the archives is signed. The signature is included in the application executable of an.ipa archive and protects the executable file itself and the associated resource files. Apple provides native Mac OS tools for signing iOS executable-s (which are actually generic Mach-O code signing tools), but these tools are not generally available on other platforms. To provide a multi-platform development environment for JavaFX based iOS applications, we ported iOS signing and packaging to Java and created a dedicated ipack tool for it. The iPack tool can be used as a last step of creating .ipa package on various operating systems. Prototype has been tested by creating a final distributable for JavaFX application that runs on iPad, all done on Windows 7. Source Code The source code of iPac tool is in OpenJFX project repository. You can find it in: <openjfx root>/rt/tools/ios/Maven/ipack To build the iPack tool use: rt/tools/ios/Maven/ipack$ mvn package After building, you can run the tool: java -jar <path to ipack.jar> <arguments>  Signing keystore The tool uses a java key store to read the signing certificate and the associated private key. To prepare such keystore users can use keytool from JDK. One possible scenario is to import an existing private key and the certificate from a key store used on Mac OS: To list the content of an existing key store and identify the source alias: keytool -list -keystore <src keystore>.p12 -storetype pkcs12 -storepass <src keystore password> To create Java key store and import the private key with its certificate to the keys store: keytool -importkeystore \ -destkeystore <dst keystore> -deststorepass <dst keystore password> \ -srckeystore <src keystore>.p12 -srcstorepass <src keystore password> -srcstoretype pkcs12 \ -srcalias <src alias> -destalias <dst alias> -destkeypass <dst key password> Another scenario would be to generate a private / public key pair directly in a Java key store and create a certificate request from it. After sending the request to Apple one can then import the certificate response back to the Java key store and complete the signing certificate entry. In both scenarios the resulting alias in the Java key store will contain only a single (leaf) certificate. This can be verified with the following command: keytool -list -v -keystore <ipack keystore> -storepass <keystore password> When looking at the Certificate chain length entry, the number next to it is 1. When an executable file is signed on Mac OS, the resulting signature (in CMS format) includes the whole certificate chain up to the Apple Root CA. The ipack tool includes only the chain which is stored under the alias specified on the command line. So to have the whole chain in the signature we need to replace the single certificate entry under the alias with the corresponding full certificate chain. To do that we need first to create the chain in a separate file. It is easy to create such chain when working with certificates in Base-64 encoded PEM format. A certificate chain can be created by concatenating PEM certificates, which should form the chain, into a single file. • PHPPgAdmin not working in Ubuntu 14.04

  After a fresh install of Ubuntu 14.04, I've installed postgresql and phppgadmin from the Ubuntu repos. I am using the Apache2 webserver. PHP is working fine in the webserver, as is PHPMyAdmin, but PHPPgAdmin is not working. When I try to access it at localhost/phppgadmin, I get a 404 message. I've tried creating a symlink in /var/www to the phppgadmin content, but that doesn't seem to work. How do I fix this? EDIT: note that I am using a local proxy server (squid) through which I funnel all my online traffic. While this may be part of the problem, I would be surprised if it was, because I am still on the same machine as phppgadmin and the requests logged in the apache access log indicate that incoming requests for the page are coming from the local machine (which is allowed in the policies for phppgadmin, if I understand things correctly).

  I know what whoopsie is from the answers to What is the 'whoopsie' process and how can I remove it? I do not want to stop error reporting, as I think that error reporting is the minimum a user should do to try to help Ubuntu. But since the upgrade to 13.10, whoopsie has grown up quite chatty. I have literally hundreds of messages like that in my logs: SYS: Nov 4 14:40:48 samsung-romano whoopsie[1156]: online SYS: Nov 4 14:41:56 whoopsie[1156]: last message repeated 4 times SYS: Nov 4 14:42:56 whoopsie[1156]: last message repeated 2 times SYS: Nov 4 14:43:56 whoopsie[1156]: last message repeated 2 times SYS: Nov 4 14:44:56 whoopsie[1156]: last message repeated 2 times % zgrep whoopsie /var/log/syslog*gz | wc -l 773 Is there a way to tell whoopsie to be less verbose? (the funny output format is from SLogger, a homemade program to check system log files I wrote ages ago, but this is basically the content of /var/log/syslog file).

• Where can I change the webpage showed by apache?

  I have ubuntu 10.10 installed, and when I hit my IP I see: It works! This is the default web page for this server. The web server software is running but no content has been added, yet. Where should I look to see where this is being served from? The strange thing is, I just installed nginx and setup a static page that is served on port 80 also (should be conflicting with the default apache that is serving the 'it works page'), when I restart nginx I don't get bind error sayign port 80 is already taken. I dont' use apache, and don't want it but the default install seems to have it. I ahve no idea where it is, I don't see it in /opt or etc/apache . thanks!

• VMWare Kernel Modules will not compile or update on Ubuntu 12.04

  Kernel Module Update was required when opening VMWare client (vmplayer) then following error occurs. Any idea would be appreciated. Unable to start services. See log file /tmp/vmware-root/setup-NNN.log for details (Note: NNN looks like random numbers) On GUI that show progress of updating, "Virtual Netowork Device" show red flag appears. EDIT: Recently, one of my App rejected due to using one undocumented methods. -[UIDevice setOrientation] Since, selectors are independent from the class you're messaging, even if my custom class defines -setOrientation: irrelevant to UIDevice, there will be a possbility of being rejected.

  Assume there is a library that is licensed under GPL. I want to use it is closed source project. I do following: Create small wrapper application around that GPL library that listens to socket, parse messages and call GPL library. Then returns results back. Release it's sources (to comply with GPL) Create client for this wrapper in my main application and don't release sources. I know that this adds huge overhead compared to static/dynamic linking, but I am interested in theoretical way.

• What are some good Photo and Artwork APIs?

  We had an idea for starting a ecards service and were looking into the possibility of populating our site using photo/artwork APIs. Due to legal reasons, Flikr probably won't work, although I've started to scour the web for other options. Basically we just need two functions the user should be able to browse the site's collection and choose a picture we should be able to recall and render a specific picture on our site. From there we should have no problem building our application. The main obstacle is that we're lacking content at the moment. I haven't been able to find too many examples of this being done, so I was wondering if anyone here might know people who have done something similar to what we're trying to do, or know of any leads that might be able to help us out. Suggestions for other APIs that are out there, or forums/communities that might be able to point us in the right direction are also welcome.

• Rich text format area size in SDL Tridion 2011 SP1

  I've set a schema field to height 2 and see the following for the input area in Chrome and IE. I'm expecting to have text area that's 2 lines high based on the default text size. I removed the source view option, thinking the tab might affect the size, but it still appears to be about 5 lines in height instead of 2. It seems to match 2 lines if the text is set to a large font or to a heading. I'd like to minimize the size these fields take in the content entry form as well as hint that authors should enter a smaller amount of text. How do I make this match the expected 2 lines?

• How can I prevent HTTPS on another domain from wrongly showing on my HTTP-only domain?

  So, I have a blog at domain.com. This blog is HTTP-only because I would gain almost nothing from adding SSL support. I have a web service now that I want to enable SSL support on that runs on the same server and IP address as my blog. I got it all working pretty easily, but not if I go to https://domain.com I will see a huge warning about an SSL certificate error and then if I click "ok" through the warning, I'll see the web service with SSL support, not my blog. My biggest fear with this scheme is Google indexing an HTTPS version of it and penalizing my blog because the content between the two doesn't match. How can I somehow for my blog's domain to either not serve anything on HTTPS, or to redirect back to my HTTP blog, or to serve my blog, but with an invalid SSL certificate? What can I do, preferably without buying another dedicated IP for my website?

• Is creating a full application in Silverlight advisable?

  Is creating a huge public site fully in Silverlight really advisable? for eg. an ecommerce site. I don't want to start any debate but actually I feel Silverlight shouldn't be used for full website because the biggest loss you incur is of SEO. No search engines till today can parse the xap file and index it based on it's content. You can get around it by doing ifs and thens like if Silverlight is not supported then make an Asp.Net equivalent page for it but that only doubles our effort of making application, more than anything else. Why write double code in 2 applications meant for the same purpose. If that is the only option why not create Asp.Net application only. What are your views? Thanks in advance :)

• Detect frameworks and/or CMS utilized on websites in Firefox

  I'm redesigning the website for my academic library and am examining other sites to determine to identify the technologies used. Things like: Web frameworks Javascript frameworks Server-side technology Content management system Now I've had some real success in Firefox using plugins like Wappalyzer, Firebug, and the DOM Inspector. But some sites just don't display any of the info. I'm looking for using these tools, especially it seems it an enterprise-level CMS is being used. Does anyone know of any other tools to detect this kind of data? Also with Firebug & the DOM Inspector, there is a lot of info. displayed and I wondered if there was a way to derive the presence of server-side technologies, CMS's, etc. within certain elements of a web page? • Playing a Song causing WP7 to crash on phone, but not on emulator

  Hi there, I am trying to implement a song into a game that begins playing and continually loops on Windows Phone 7 via XNA 4.0. On the emulator, this works fine, however when deployed to a phone, it simply gives a black screen before going back to the home screen. Here is the rogue code in question, and commenting this code out makes the app run fine on the phone: // in the constructor fields private Song song; // in the LoadContent() method song = Content.Load<Song>("song"); // in the Update() method if (MediaPlayer.GameHasControl && MediaPlayer.State != MediaState.Playing) { MediaPlayer.Play(song); } The song file itself is a 2:53 long, 2.28mb .wma file at 106kbps bitrate. Again this works perfectly on emulator but does not run at all on phone. Thanks for any help you can provide!

• How can I show ads for search on own web site

  On my web site there is a (self-coded) search functionality that searches through the web site's specific contents. However I'd like to display one banner in addition to the site's results, showing ads relevant to the entered search terms. Can I do this e.g. with Google Ads? I want the ads to be based only on the search terms from the user, not the rest of the site's content, so there has to be a possibility to pass these search terms to the ad provider and get a banner based on these search terms.

  I'm trying to install pygame using pip in a virtualenv. I'm following this tutorial on using Kivy.
