• Need a simple tool for analysing unicode characters

  I'm surprised I can't find a simple tool for this. Basically, sometimes as a result of text munging, or using some piece of software, I end up with some text that has some troublesome characters - such as looking a lot like other characters, but being distinct from them. I'd like a tool (preferably online, javascript based) where I can paste the text, and it will tell me all the characters involved, their names, unicode codes etc.

• Flex TextField won't accept "ü" and other "German" characters

  I'm having problems with Flex (3.5) auto converting "ü" into a "u". As soon as I paste the character in, it transforms. Is there something I need to turn on to enable these other character sets? I thought Flex supported UTF-8? Thanks!

  There seems to be a strange gap on the left side of the colorbox when it's laying over a Sifr element.   I'm trying to implement paging using row-based limiting (for example: setFirstResult(5) and setMaxResults(10)) on a Hibernate Criteria query that has joins to other tables. Understandably, data is getting cut off randomly; and the reason for that is explained here. As a solution, the page suggests using a "second sql select" instead of a join. How can I convert my existing criteria query (which has joins using createAlias()) to use a nested select instead?

Is it truly faster to have users load (a hopefully cached) copy of jquery from Google's repositories?   I understand the basics of this search, however the beta cut-off part is confusing me, when beta <= value of alphabeta I can either return beta, break, or continue the loop. return beta doesn't seem to work properly at all, it returns the wrong players move for a different state of the board (further into the search tree) break seems to work correctly, it is very fast but it seems a bit TOO fast continue is a lot slower than break but it seems more correct...I'm guessing this is the right way but pseudocode on google all use 'break' but because this is pseudocode I'm not sure what they mean by 'break'

  I have this code in jquery to prevent non-numeric characters being inputted to the text field $("#NumericField").numeric(); Now, on the text field i cant input non-numeric characters. That is OK. The problem here is if the user will paste on the text field with non numeric characters. Is there a way/method to disable pasting if the value is non-numeric? Or is there any other approach to handle this situation that you can share?

  These characters show fine when I cut-and-paste them here from the VisualStudio debugger, but both in the debugger, and in the TextBox where I am trying to display this text, it just shows squares. ??\r\n???????,3-9 ?????????,???2 ?,???3 ?;10 ????4 ???????????,???2 ??\r\n??\r\n??????????,???????\r\n I thought that the TextBox supported Unicode text.   I have a bunch of files containing x and y coordinates, representing time and value (space-separated, but can be amended) For example: 15:06:59 0.0140 .......
