• How to resize WebView according to its content?

  Hi all, I want to set simple html contents within a web view and then resize it according to its content. To set simple html contents within web view I used this code and it is working fine: [[myWebView mainFrame] loadHTMLString:webViewContents baseURL:baseURLFramed]; Right now, if content is more than its actual size then it appears in web view showing both vertical and horizontal scroller in it. I want to set some default width and manage height according to its content in a way so that neither horizontal nor vertical scroller appears. Can anyone suggest me some solution for it? • Sorting the data returned by a database

  hi all, In our project we have a requirement that when a set of records are returned by the database the records should be sorted with respect to the TITLE field in the record. The records will have to be sorted alphabetically but if the title of a record has a number in it then it should come after the records whose title only consists of alphabets. Details: we are using SQL Server , and c#. The data from the database comes to an Entity class whic forwards the data to other layers. So, What will be the possible and effective solution for this requirement.

• R: Creating Custom Shapes with ggplot

  Full Disclosure: This was also posted to the ggplot2 mailing list. (I'll update if I receive a response) I'm a bit lost on this one, I've tried messing around with geom_polygon but successive attempts seem worse than the previous. The image that I'm trying to recreate is this, the colours are unimportant, but the positions are: In addition to creating this, I also need to be able to label each element with text. At this point, I'm not expecting a solution (although that would be ideal) but pointers or similar examples would be immensely helpful. One option that I played with was hacking scale_shape and using 1,1 as coords. But was stuck with being able to add labels. The reason I'm doing this with ggplot, is because I'm generating scorecards on a company by company basis. This is only one plot in a 4 x 10 grid of other plots (using pushViewport) Note: The top tier of the pyramid could also be a rectangle of similar size.

• Need some serious help with self join issue.

  Well as you may know, you cannot index a view with a self join. Well actually even two joins of the same table, even if it's not technically a self join. A couple of guys from microsoft came up with a work around. But it's so complicated I don't understand it!!!   hi , I have a web page devoloped in visual studio 2008. I have 4 dropdowns and a repeater in the page.based on the selection(search criteria) from the dropdowns the repeater value will change. and one dropdown selection will bind values to the other dropdown also. Since the page is causing a lot of postback we decided to implement ajax here. I am yet to learn ajax. Can anyone tell what is the best way to do this .which ajax control replace dropdowns? i have already server side code written on all dropdowns. • How to get `gcc` to generate `bts` instruction for x86-64 from standard C?

  Inspired by a recent question, I'd like to know if anyone knows how to get gcc to generate the x86-64 bts instruction (bit test and set) on the Linux x86-64 platforms, without resorting to inline assembly or to nonstandard compiler intrinsics. Related questions: Why doesn't gcc do this for a simple |= operation were the right-hand side has exactly 1 bit set? How to get bts using compiler intrinsics or the asm directive Portability is more important to me than bts, so I won't use and asm directive, and if there's another solution, I prefer not to use compiler instrinsics. EDIT: The C source language does not support atomic operations, so I'm not particularly interested in getting atomic test-and-set (even though that's the original reason for test-and-set to exist in the first place). If I want something atomic I know I have no chance of doing it with standard C source: it has to be an intrinsic, a library function, or inline assembly. (I have implemented atomic operations in compilers that support multiple threads.)

• How to change page author in wordpress?

  Ofc i know how to do that, but the thing is that i am using "User Role Editor" and i have one user group that can read and edit published pages. Now, i will be adding all the pages on that site, and we will have several users that will need to have only one page they can edit, so i need for that page to change "Page author" to that user. In case you didnt know, when user have "Edit published pages" enabled they can edit only pages where they are listed as author. Problem is i can only do that by going in phpmyadmin and changing the page_author field to the id of that user because that user group, like i said, can only read and edit published pages. That is why i can not change page author from "Edit page" page to user from that user group. So my question is: does anyone know any solution to this problem which does not involve me going to phpmyadmin and changing the id for page_author there?

• Question on Win32 LogonUser API and the Logon Type

  We have developed a ASP.NET web application and has implemented a custom authentication solution using active directory as the credentials store. Our front end application uses a normal login form to capture the user name and password and leverages the Win32 LogonUser method to authenticate the user’s credentials. When we are calling the LogonUser method, we are using the LOGON32_LOGON_NETWORK as the logon type. The issue we have found is that user profile folders are being created under the C:\Users folder of the web server. The folder seems to be created when a new user who has never logged on before is logging in for the first time. As the number of new users logging into the application grows, disk space is shrinking due to the large number of new user folders getting created. Has anyone seen this behavior with the Win32 LogonUser method? Does anyone know how to disable this behavior?

  Can someone please help me out with a JavaScript/jQuery solution for this arithmetic problem: I need to subtract one number from the other. The problem is that the numbers have a dollar sign (because its money), therefore jQuery is treating them as strings instead of numbers. I have created two variables - toalAssets and totalLiabilites. I would like to subtract the latter from the former and place the result into another variable called netWorth. Perhaps i need to use parseFloat()? But I'm not sure how - This is all a little over my head!

  I'm working with two independent c/c++ applications on Windows where one of them constantly updates an image on disk (from a webcam) and the other reads that image for processing. This works fine and dandy 99.99% of the time, but every once in a while the reader app is in the middle of reading the image when the writer deletes it to refresh it with a new one. The obvious solution to me seems to be to have the reader put some sort of a lock on the file so that the writer can see that it can't delete it and thus spin-lock on it until it can delete and update. Is there anyway to do this? Or is there another simple design pattern I can use to get the same sort of constant image refreshing between two programs? Thanks, -Robert

  I need to check in Java if a word consists of unique letters (case insensitive). As straight solution is boring, I came up with: For every char in a string check if indexOf(char) == lastIndexOf(char). Add all chars to HashSet and check if set size == string length. Convert a string to a char array, sort it alphabetically, loop through array elements and check if c[i] == c[i+1]. Currently I like #2 the most, seems like the easiest way. Any other interesting solutions?

This is a really interesting and promising way to architect a software solution, and gets close to the age-old idea of being able to stick software components together like Lego :) A good starting point is the Channel 9 video here, and there is a fair bit of discussion in German at the Google Group on EBCs. I am however looking for more concrete examples - while the ideas look great, I am finding it hard to translate them into real code for anything more than a trivial project.   Hiya Guys, I'm trying to develop some code which pulls latest informtion only. What it is when a user goes into a form there a subtable and everytime they change something it creates a new row in the colum called type12_OriginalNoteID which puts its own unquie number in. Another feild called type12_OriginalNoteID keeps the same number - which keeps track of what the oringal number was before any changes were made. I do have some code which does pull the latest information but it does not pull anything if the user has not made any changes to the form - and thats because the type12_OriginalNoteID is null. The code is as follows ea.type12_NoteID IN (SELECT TOP 1 ea.type12_NoteID FROM UserAssessv1aidsadaptations ea1 WHERE ea.type12_NoteID = ea1.type12_OriginalNoteID ORDER BY ea.type12_UpdatedDate DESC) An example of the data is as follows :- type12_note ID - 12 type12_OriginalNoteID NULL type12_UpdatedDate - 11/03/2010 What would be the solution to show the ifnroamtion if no one has made any changes to the subtable? - adding an if statement to run if type12_OriginalNoteID is null??

• FTP client to zip before upload and unzip on the server after upload

  I am always working with some big websites that is annoying to upload given the number of small files. I use Filezilla but am happy to buy some commercial solution if there is one out there that can zip the files before upload and then unzip it after upload. Its a pain to have to manually do that all the time. If someone know of any ftp client or extension for Filezilla or other that would do that... I sent an email to the support for CuteFTP and WSFtp - no answer so far... I know FTP protocol does not allow this command - thats why Im asking for a extension (if anyone know) or a free or commercial FTP client that do the job...

  I have a DB having text file attributes and text file primary key IDs and indexed around 1 million text files along with their IDs (primary keys in DB). Now, I am searching at two levels. First is straight forward DB search, where i get primary keys as result (roughly 2 or 3 million IDs) Then i make a Boolean query for instance as following +Text:"test*" +(pkID:1 pkID:4 pkID:100 pkID:115 pkID:1041 .... ) and search it in my Index file. The problem is that such query (having 2 million clauses) takes toooooo much time to give result and consumes reallly too much memory.... Is there any optimization solution for this problem ?

• Upgrading a SharePoint list instance that was deployed via feature

  I'm curious how others address this issue. Using VSEWSS 1.3, I have created a site content type, a list definition (w event receivers), and a list instance. All of them are in the same WSP solution and each is activated individually via features. Now let's assume that all the features have been activated for some time, and the list instance contains a number of items (that can't be deleted). Now suppose I need to make a change to the schema.xml (inject some javascript, modify views, whatever) of the list. Is it even possible to "upgrade" the schema of the existing list instance? Otherwise I would think I'm stuck creating a new instance and copying items over.
