• Jboss logging issue

  I'm Working as deployer and server administrator. We use Jboss 4.0x AS to deploy our applications. The issue I'm facing is, Whenever we redeploy/restart the server, server.log is getting created but after sometime the logging goes off. Yes it is not at all updating the server.log file. Due to this, we could not trace the other critical issues we have. Actually we have two separate nodes and we do deploy/restarting the server separately on two nodes. We are facing the issue in both of our test and production environment. I could not trace out where exactly the issue is. Could you please help me in resolving the issue? If we have any other issues, we can check the log files. If log itself is not getting updated/logged, how can we move further in analyzing the issues without the recent/updated logs? Why? As far as I know base.Dispose should call the Dispose method of base class only... isn't it? Who call back the Dispose(bool) of UnityManager? How to prevent that? Thanks.

  I have two classes, a base class and a child class. In the base class i define a generic virtual method: protected virtual Bar Foo<T() where T : Bar {} Then in my child class i try to do this: protected override BarChild Foo() // BarChild inherits Bar { return base.Bar<T as BarChild() } Visual studio gives this weird error: The type 'T' cannot be used as type parameter 'T' in the generic type or method 'Foo()'. There is no boxing conversion or type parameter conversion from 'T' to 'Bar'. Repeating the where clause on the child's override also gives an error: Constraints for override and explicit interface implementation methods are inherited from the base method, so they cannot be specified directly So what am i doing wrong here?

• Objective C, Linking Error with extern variable..

  I have a very simple java code like this. I don't have any idea how to do this in Objective C. Especially, the static part which calls the getLocalAddress() method and assign it into the static string variable. I know how to set a static variable and a static method in Objective but I dont know how to implement that static { } part in java. So my question is how to make "localIpAddress" variable as a grobal variable which is initialized once when the first time Address class is created.. Thanks in advance...

  I have a generic class that takes a type T. Within this class I have a method were I need to compare a type T to another type T such as: public class MyClass<T> { public T MaxValue { // Implimentation for MaxValue } public T MyMethod(T argument) { if(argument > this.MaxValue) { // Then do something } } } The comparison operation inside of MyMethod fails with Compiler Error CS0019. Is it possible to add a constraint to T to make this work? I tried adding a where T: IComparable<T> to the class definition to no avail.

  I'm trying to modify the fridge magnets example by adding a button that will reload the widget where the draggable labels are drawn, reflecting any changes made to the text file it reads.   Hi, i met a very strange PHP behaviour, i don't understand why it behaves like this. Do you see some error? It doesn't show me any message it simply doesn't execute the function.

  If i add pageBaseType="Spark.Web.Mvc.SparkView" in my web.config (necessary to fix intellisense), somehow it does not render links (probably not only) correctly anymore.   How do I make the left and right gutters different colors with 960.gs? When I try something simple like: <div style="background-color: green"> <div class="container_16"> <div class="grid_16"> test </div> </div> </div> <div style="background-color: cyan"> <div class="container_16"> <div class="grid_16"> test </div> </div> </div> The green and cyan colors are ignored. Seems like the "grid_16" class removes the color for some reason? My goal is being able to have different sections of the page in different colors all the way across the page, even past 960 pixels. So if someone makes their browser 1200px the left and right sides have the right color and the rest of the grid system is all contained within the 960 pixels in the middle. I could add a background color to 'body' to do this for just 1 color, but I want multiple colors in the page. Like different colored horizontal stripes. Thanks.

• Using one sqlconnection/sqlcommand through 2 DB-bound methods

  I have a class with a method which gets data from a database through a SELECT stored proc. This method uses a SqlDbReader by returning ExecuteReader() on a SqlCommand. The connection and everything is made in this method, with fields (such as connection string) set as class level fields. I now need to populate an array based on the results of this query (so the columns of each row will go into the array with its own index). However, this query will not select all of the data from one table which is involved. I can write the queries to get what I need, but how can I use one connection throughout the class? If I instantiate the connection object and call Open() in the constructor, I get an exception @ runtime. I'm hoping for something like this: // At class level: sqlconn.Open(); // sqlcommand set up Method() { // Fire stored proc // Insert results in a collection } Method2() { // Pass same collection in (use same one), // Add new row columns into same collection } How can I do this with strict performance in mind? • C++ Project compiles as static lib, fails (linker error) as dynamic lib. why??

  Hi All. I've a VS2008 native C++ project, that I wish to compile as a DLL. It only references one external library (log4cplus.lib), and uses its functions. (also uses log4cplus's .h files , naturally). When I try to compile my project as a static library, it succeeeds. When I try as DLL, it fails : 1>MessageWriter.obj : error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol "public: static class log4cplus::Logger __cdecl log4cplus::Logger::getInstance(class std::basic_string<wchar_t,struct std::char_traits<wchar_t>,class std::allocator<wchar_t> > const &)" (?getInstance@Logger@log4cplus@@SA?AV12@ABV?$basic_string@_WU?$char_traits@_W@std@@V?$allocator@_W@2@@std@@@Z) referenced in function "class log4cplus::Logger __cdecl Log(void)" (?Log@@YA?AVLogger@log4cplus@@XZ) There are 4 more errors just like this related to functions within log4cplus.lib. • Advantage of using a static member function instead of an equivalent non-static member function?

  I was wondering whether there's any advantages to using a static member function when there is a non-static equivalent. Will it result in faster execution (because of not having to care about all of the member variables), or maybe less use of memory (because of not being included in all instances)? Basically, the function I'm looking at is an utility function to rotate an integer array representing pixel colours an arbitrary number of degrees around an arbitrary centre point. It is placed in my abstract Bullet base class, since only the bullets will be using it and I didn't want the overhead of calling it in some utility class. It's a bit too long and used in every single derived bullet class, making it probably not a good idea to inline. How would you suggest I define this function? As a static member function of Bullet, of a non-static member function of Bullet, or maybe not as a member of Bullet but defined outside of the class in Bullet.h? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each?

• C# Login Dialog Implementation

  I have implemented a LoginAccess class that prompts the user to enter their active directory username and password. Then I save the login data as an encrypted file. Every subsequent start of the application, the LoginAccess class will read the encrypted file and check against the active directory to see if the login information is still valid. If it is not, then it will prompt the user again. I have made it so that the reading of the encrypted file and displaying of the login dialog is done on a separate thread. A delegate is fired when the login process is complete. The issue that I'm having is that I have a class that is used in multiple places. This class contains the call to the LoginAccess object. Every time I instantiate a new object there are multiple calls to the LoginAccess object and I get multiple dialogs appearing when it tries to prompt for a username and password. Any suggestions on how to have only one dialog appear would be greatly appreciated.

• Getting proper indentation using XMLBuilder in a helper

  I'm attempting to use a view helper to create some dynamic links based on if you're logged in or not. What I want returned, for sake of easy code readability, is: <ul class="right"> <li><a href="#">Login</a></li> <li><a href="#">Register</a></li> </ul> In the view helper I have this Ruby code: def loginh xm = Builder::XmlMarkup.new(:indent=>2, :margin=>4) xm.ul("class" => "right") { xm.li('class' => 'text') { xm.text("test") } } end In the view, the line that calls login helper is already indented 4 levels. Because of this, the first line gets 'skewed', so in the view I have: <%= loginh %> Which results in: <ul class="right"> <li class="text"> <text>test</text> </li> </ul> You can see it works perfectly, except for the first line. It would appear that the first line is affected by the indent before <%= loginh % is called. I can easily remedy this by removing the indentation prior to <%= loginh % - but in essence I'd be sacrificing code readability for markup readability. Which isn't what I'm looking to do. Is there any way I could remove the beginning whitespace?

  I have two models: The model NetworkObject try to describe "hosts". I want to have a rule with source and destination, so i'm trying to use both objects from the same class since it dont makes sense to create two different classes. class NetworkObject < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :ip, :netmask, :name has_many :statements has_many :rules, :through =>:statements end class Rule < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :active, :destination_ids, :source_ids has_many :statements has_many :sources, :through=> :statements, :source=> :network_object has_many :destinations, :through => :statements, :source=> :network_object end To build the HABTM i did choose the Model JOIN. so in this case i created a model named Statement with: class Statement < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :source_id, :rule_id, :destination_id belongs_to :network_object, :foreign_key => :source_id belongs_to :network_object, :foreign_key => :destination_id belongs_to :rule end The problem is: is right to add two belongs_to to the same class using different foreign_keys? I tried all combinations like: belongs_to :sources, :class_name => :network_object, :foreign_key => :source_id but no success.. anything that i am doing wrong?
