  I am using a bash script (below) on a remote server (so far using ssh to connect) to execute a python script that downloads a lot of pdf files one at a time (getting the download locations from a text file with the URL's) in a loop. I would like to move the files from the remote server to my local computer as they are downloaded, and then delete the file from the remote server. Is there a way that I can expand my bash script to do this? Or are there alternatives for completing this task? while read line; do python python_script.py -l $line; done < pdfURLs.txt

  I'm using the qTip jQuery plugin to create dynamic tool tips. The tooltip sends an id to a cfc which runs a query and returns data in JSON format.   Hi, I've managed this so far: [removed url] The plan is to have that video stretch across the whole page (the flash does, the video itself does not). Firstly: well aware of the issues - bad performance, horribly stretched/pixelated video. I know this. However a client wants it so we have to do it, simple as that. Does anyone have any ideas on how this can be achieved? I've been in touch with the creators of the flash video player I'm currently using and they've confirmed it isn't possible with that flash video player.   I am trying to decide what is the best way to approach a site I built with SEO in mind. The site has a parent site (sort of a splash page) (arboroaks.net) and the 3 children sites. Parent site is one page, and each of the 3 child sites is about 8-10pages. Right now I have the 3 child sites set up as folders under arboroaks.net. For example, lakelandhills, a child site, would be arboroaks.net/lakelandhills. I have the full domain, arboroaksatlakelandhills.com redirect to this url (arboroaks.net/lakelandhills). My question is whether I should have the child sites be contained on their own domain or not. Think lakelandhillsatarboroaks.com/about-us.php verse arboroaks.net/lakelandhills/about-us.php. The main reason is obviously for SEO consideration. Thanks!

Pastebin API uses paste_code as its main data input, but it can use optional things like paste_name that sets the name of the upload or paste_private that sets it private.

• Can you pass _POST variables from 1 server to another?

  I have a web form on an IIS server (has no PHP). I have a PHP script on a LAMP server. My _POST var array is coming up empty on the LAMP server. My suspicion is I cannot pass POST vars from 1 server to another but I would like to have that confirmed. Does anyone know the answer to this? If that's the case then I know I need to with use _GET vars in the URL's Query String or set a cookie (which I can do because both servers are config'd with the domain name). Thanks for your help.

  Hi, I'm using Django 1.0.2 and trying to figure out how to get the @login_required working correctly. When I use the built-in server it redirects to the default login_url, or my LOGIN_URL as defined in settings.py as expected. What is not clear to me is how to deploy to the server where my site is not at the root. In my templates I use the url template tag, and in the views I can access request.META['SCRIPT_NAME'], but for some reason it doesn't seem to apply to the LOGIN_URL used. What am I missing? Thanks.

  I've just taken my first stab at making a ListView, ObjectDataSource, and DataPager run in an AJAX panel. I had trouble getting it to work until I removed the QueryStringField="page" attribute from the DataPager. This attribute causes the current page to be passed as a query argument in the URL. For obvious reasons, I guess that won't work when posting back using AJAX. Now my question is if this hurts my SEO. When I used QueryStringField, the page links appeared as regular links with various query arguments. But now the links are just javascript. Haven't I hurt a search engine's ability to scan related pages? Or is there another approach to this?

• Error Exception 2048 on my website using OpenClassifieds software

  I have a website called e-waitress.net, it is a jobs employment website for the restaurant industry. I installed an open source program called OpenClassifieds and a couple days after installing the OpenClassifieds, I get an error message when I enter my url that is this: ErrorException [ 2048 ]: date_default_timezone_get(): It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. You are required to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'America/New_York' for 'EDT/-4.0/DST' instead ~ APPPATH/ko322/classes/kohana/date.php [ 592 ] I am wondering is this a server issue with my host provider or is it within the OpenClassifieds installation software? I've reinstalled the software twice and it's returned this error after a couple days of working great. Any ideas?

• POST Ajax call results in not found using jqGrid and ASP.NET MVC 2 on IIS6

  This is puzzling me. I deployed an MVC 2 application to IIS6 and everything works fine except for my jqGrid calls to get data. All is well on my development machine, but here are the two URLs I'm working with Local dev web server: POST http://localhost:port/Ctrl.mvc/JsonMethod IIS6 (notice https - not sure if that matters) POST https://www.domain.com/AppName/Ctrl.mvc/JsonMethod The latter URL results in a HTTP 404, which is really confusing as all works well on my local machine. The JsonMethod is properly declared with [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] Let me know if any more info is needed - I appreciate any and all help with this!

In the database, there is a table for businesses that lists them like so: id | name | address | city | state | state_id | zip | url The state column are abbreviations of states (for listing purposes) CA, AK, FL, etc and the state_id matches up with the ids in the states table: id | name | state_abbr I have an admin_add.ctp template with form helpers for inserting new businesses. For entering a state for a business I am going to have a pull down that lists all the states. However, how do I make the database insert so it will know how to add the state abbreviation and state id when I submit the form to add the business?

• Redirecting a large number of URLs with htaccess or php header

  I have undergone a major website overhaul and now have 5,000+ incoming links from search engines and external sites, bookmark services etc that lead to dead pages or 404 errors. A lot of the pages have corresponding "permalinks" or known replacement hierarchy/URL structure. I've started to list the main redirects with htaccess or physical files with simply a header location reidrect which is clearly not sustainable! What would be the best method to list all of the old link addresses and their corresponding new addresses with htaccess, php headers, mysql, sitemap file or is it better to have all broken links and wait for search engines etc to re-index my site? Are there any implications for having a large number of redirecting files for this temporary period until links are reset?

• Form action with #hashtag not working in internet explorer

  I am using jquery-ui tabs and I've set it up to select the correct tab depending on the #hash from the requested URL. I have a form which performs a search, and each tab present the result from different providers. so if the form is submitting to the action "/myAction#tab1", when the results load, the corresponding tab gets selected. This works perfectly in every browser except for IE. When my form is submitted, it loses somehow the #hash which describes which tab to select. Is that yet another a bug from IE, or am I doing something wrong? I could not find much information about this, but I can hardly believe that this is not a common problem.

• Loading an XML file with todays date in the filename... need to fallback to old file if one with tod

Using javascript/jQuery I am currently loading in an XML file that has a file name such as carousel_large_2010-06-08.xml.. the way I am doing it is checked for todays date then grabbing a file that has that date in the filename... the issue is sometimes they wont be uploading a new file for a given day so it needs to fallback to a older date that exists.. Wondering how to do it? • UIWebView goBack method acts differently on different devices

  First Device: 8gb 2nd gen Version: 3.1.3 (7E18) Model: MB528LL Second Device: 32gb 3rd gen Version: 3.1.3 (7E18) Model: MC008LL When I call goBack on the 8gb device, shouldStartLoadWithRequest:navigationType: is called When I call goBack on the 32gb device, shouldStartLoadWithRequest:navigationType: is not called I am not doing any caching (not like it works anyway). To make sure it wasn't caching I removed any possible caching via the request object's cache policy and removing all cache whenever webViewDidFinishLoading is called. Same app, same url, everything is the same but the device itself. Why? FYI: shouldStartLoadWithRequest:navigationType: is called on the simulator when goBack is called

  I'm currently using jquery's ajax feature or whatever they call it. To load data from mysql database. Its working fine, but one of the built in features of this one is to load all the data which is on the database when you press on backspace and there's no character left on the text box. Here's my query: SELECT * FROM prod_table WHERE QTYHAND>0 AND PRODUCT LIKE '$prod%' OR P_DESC LIKE '$desc%' OR CATEGORY LIKE '$cat%' As you can see I only want to load the products which has greater than 0 quantity on hand. I'm using this code to communicate to the php file which has the query on it: $('#inp').keyup(function(){ var inpval=$('#inp').val(); $.ajax({ type: 'POST', data: ({p : inpval}), url: 'querys.php', success: function(data) { $('.result').html(data); } }); }); Is it possible to also filter the data that it outputs so that when I press on backspace and there's no character left.   Hello, I have implemented Authlogic. I believe that this isn't an authlogic specific quesetion. Assume that I have a User model and each User has a column in the database called "login". Upon creating a user, the login column is populated. However, I don't want the user to be able to change their login once they set it. Currently, I have removed the text field in the _form.html.erb file in my views for users. However, it can probably still be accessed through the url right? How can I make it so that once a login is set, it can not be changed at all?

  In my Java app, how can I incorporate the browser (which loads and renders URLs) in Swing and access it's DOM and manipulate HTML ? How can you embed such browser in a Rich Internet Application and access it's DOM ? More specifically, Vaadin ? Is there a HTTP proxy class that can load an external URL, and render it to the user ? This was what I was doing on LAMP stack....but I want to switch to Vaadin or some Java web framework where I can just use Java to do everything from server-side to client-side logic design, so I can focus more on application logic.
