• Building an XML editor in java and RichFaces

  Hello I'm building an XML editor using the above technologies. In essence, I want to read in a whole XML file to a java object, and refer using this object to each element in the XML node tree (grouped into entries) to display the content locked, have separate padlocks for the user to click to 'unlock' an entry allow overwriting of the data, and to submit this entry. 'Add entry', 'Duplicate entry', 'Delete entry' are also functions I'd like to add. I already use dom4j and XPath to access areas of the XML file so some of the work in theory is already done. Given the above, I was going to use these two together with inplaceInputs to allow the user to edit the XML and JSF validators to check the data coming in. Is this the best way to approach this problem, or is there a more straightforward route than XPathing a whole record? I started looking at jaxb but I'm new at java and jsf but I've got the feeling I won't be by the end.. Thanks

  Hello, I have pretty simple case which I started solving using foreach(), but then I thought I could do It using Linq Basically I have IList that contains PaymentTransaction objects and there are 2 properties Dealer and Amount I want to GroupBy() by Dealer and Sum() bv amount. I tried to accomplish this using following code, but unfortunately it does not work var test = paymentTransactionDao.GetAll().GroupBy(x => x.Dealer).Sum(x => x.Amount); Want exactly I'm doing wrong here?   Hello, Today I was testing out SRFI 19 and wrote a simple version of the UNIX cal(1) command. Here's a version in R6RS Scheme which runs in Ikarus and Ypsilon. A few example runs. Schemers: How would you write it? Use your favorite implementation. Ruby and Python: I'm guessing that y'all have elegant date and time libraries. I'm sure you can put the Schemers to shame. ;-) Let's see what ya got. I'd also like to see Haskell and golfed versions. Is there a Stack Overflow tag for re-implementations of UNIX commands? :-) Ed

• Apache on linux : spawning processes or threads ?

  Hello, I would like to understand better exactly what is going on when Apache on linux receive an HTTP request in a process pre-fork model. Let's say we have 20 Apache child processes waiting. When I receive an HTTP request, is it true to say that 1 child process will be chosen to handle the request and that this process won't handle another request from another user until the first one is finished ? I am asking the question because of a PHP limitation that states : The locale information is maintained per process, not per thread. If you are running PHP on a multithreaded server API like IIS or Apache on Windows, you may experience sudden changes in locale settings while a script is running, though the script itself never called setlocale(). This happens due to other scripts running in different threads of the same process at the same time, changing the process-wide locale using setlocale(). Thanks Jerome Wagner

  Hello, I have a web form where I have a textbox in which the user will enter the number and pull the information from the table. Now I have developed a xtrareport, where I have to display the data of which the user enters in that textbox which I mentioned earlier. Everything works fine , only I need to just pass the value of the texbox(form1) to the report (form2).   Hello everyone!! Hope You all are fie and also in one of your best of moods!! I need your help to solve an issue with Facebook. I have integrate Facebook Connect with my iPhone app. So as per step i have to write path of src folder into 'Header path info' Field in Project Build. I have given the absolute path to 'Header path info' Field. and its run fine without any Error.. But, Now When i Move the project folder to another destination, its but obvious, that path of src folder will change… So Now after moving file, when i run an application, It gives path error. So is there any way to solve this path issue? this comes when i run an app in simulator, and i guess It also won't run in iPhone because of problem of path of src folder.   Hello, I have a Customer with Orders and those have products. Everything aggregated with collections of type ObservableCollection. All 3 collections are bound to a datagrid/combobox. I can only make the root collection (ObservableCollection Customers{ get;set;} ) passing to a CollectionView so I can move the current customer within the combobox. But how can I move around the current Order in the datagrid? How to pass the selected Orders to another CollectionView ? Does all this maybe not work?

• iPhone: Switching from a map screen to a battle screen without the map progress being reset

  Hello! I'm trying to make a role-playing game, and I want the game to work so that it transitions to the battle NIB for battles, then returns back to the map NIB afterward, yet still retain all the progress the player has made exploring the dungeon. I've tried proto-typing this with just a view-switcher, where one view creates content, and then switches to the other view, and then coming back from the other view. However, once the view goes back to the original, the original view is reset. How to make the data persistent so that it doesn't reset after every "battle"? Thanks!

• How can I update information in an Android Activity from a background Service

  Hello, I am trying to create a simple Android application that has a ActivityList of information, when the application starts, I plan to start a Service that will be constantly calculating the data (it will be changing) and I want the ActivityList to be in sync with the data that the service is calculating for the life of the app. How can I set up my Activity to be listening to the Service? Is this the best way to approach this problem? For example, if you imagine a list of stock prices - the data would be being changed regularly and need to be in sync with the (in my case) Service that is calculating/fetching the data constantly. • Zlib compression in boost::iostreams not compatible with zlib.NET

  Hello, I want to send compressed data between my C# to a C++ application in ZLIB format. In C++, I use the zlib_compressor/zlib_decompressor available in boost::iostreams. In C#, I am currently using the ZOutputStream available in the zlib.NET library. First of all, when I compress the same data using both libraries, the results look different: boost::iostreams::zlib_compressor: FF 13 49 48 00 00 01 00 01 00 00 00 63 61 60 60 F8 00 C4 C1 25 45 99 79 E9 23 87 04 00 zlib.NET (zlib.ZOutputStream): FF 13 49 48 00 00 01 00 01 00 00 00 78 9C 63 61 60 60 F8 00 C4 C1 25 45 99 79 E9 23 87 04 00 4F 31 63 8D (Note the 78 9C pattern that is present in zlib.NET, but not in boost). Furthermore, when I decompress data in boost that I compressed in zlib.NET, I am not able to read from the stream suggesting something is wrong.   Hello, i want to print on the screen the informations about Top level windows under Linux. I use the xlib functions. I successfully recurse from the root window to print all the informations about all the element on display. But i need only the Top-Level window. I don't find any good way to filter. From wikipedia : The top-level windows are exactly the direct subwindows of the root window. With that definition , I have some windows like: gnome-session, seahorse-daemon,notify-osd or icons, on my list and i don't want them. I also find a function : XmuClientWindow, but i don't understand it's goal. Thanks to help me.

  Hello, I need to InterOp Win32 code (unmanaged Win32 DLL's and Exe) completely with .NET. I need to call Win32 unmanaged code(DLL exported functions) at runtime i.e (knowing the types of data types in Win32 signatures and need to pass data according to that type at runtime). This is 100% possible in case of COM. You can convert COM unmanaged code to managed assemblies using tlbimp.exe and use now reflection API to work with those managed types(actual were unmanaged types now converted managed using tlbimp). But same functionality I need to get in terms of Win32(i.e) in .NET framework. How?? I know MS provided Export table reading API ..but I couldn't find exact API for InterOp of Win32 unmanaged code Regards

• Change UIActionSheet after doing it's job

  Hello, I have to import some XML data into my app. Now I open a UIActionSheet and add as a subview a UIActivityIndicatorView. Initially I show a progress wheel and a button with 'Cancel'. When the XML has been imported, I want to hide the progress wheel (this it's easy) and change the button into a 'Done' button, all in the same UIActionSheet. What I'm doing now is closing the UIActionSheet with the option dismissWithClickedButtonIndex, but I don't like this way because it's the same as pressing 'Cancel', and then I show an UIAlertView displaying "All data has been imported".   Hello everyone, There is well known recommendation not to include into class interface method that returns a pointer (or a reference) to private data of the class. But what do you think about public method of a class that sends to another class a pointer to the private data of the first one. For example: class A { public: void fA(void) {_b.fB(&_var)}; private: B _b; int _var; }; I think that it is some sort of data hiding damage: the private data define state of their own class, so why should one class delegate changes of its own state to another one? I used to have a Windows/Dos batch file in order to launch Mencoder with the right set of parameters, without having to type them each time. Things got messy when I tried to improve my script, and I decided that it would be a good opportunity to try coding something in python.   Hello guys. I think it isn't possible just using PHP, but just to be sure. Is it possible for PHP to know if the user is accessing the web from behind a Router? And if yes, how can i get some information about that router, like: Router Name, Brand, Serial Number, ... Users connected in the same network. Can PHP also find the Local IP Address for the visitor in that Network? A few simple questions. To which i haven't found a solid answer, and i tough that some PHP genius could tell me. And teach me.
