• DB fields not showing up in association custom queries?

  I have a notification list that the user can select different show options for different kinds of notifications along with how many results are returned. I'm keeping them in the user model because I want the custom sort to stay with the user between sessions. Here is the association in my user model: has_many :notifications, :class_name => "Notification", :foreign_key => "user_id", :conditions => ["won = ? and lost = ? and paid = ?", self.prefs_won, self.prefs_lost, self.prefs_paid], :limit => self.prefs_results.to_s But when I use the above code, Rails throws me an "unknown method" error for self.prefs_won. It is definitely a field in my database and set as a boolean value, but Rails can't find it... what's the problem?

• Groovy: Dynamically addings methods with a specific signature.

  So, I need to dynamically create (or inject) methods into an object that have a specific return type and method signature, because a Java tool we're using will be finding this methods via Reflection and checks for void type. Method names will be determined at runtime. Using metaClass. = { ... } however adds a closure which doesn't show up as a regular method (even if it can be used as one) and also has a return type. I can't modify the method finding code, and it it not Groovy-aware. I can't use methodMissing() or invokeMethod() because the method needs to actually exist. If I could overload class.getMethods() I think it would be possible, but I can't figure out how. Is there any way to do this in Groovy?

• Scroll immediately to row in table before view shows

  A view with a table gets pushed onto the screen and I want it to scroll to a certain row in the table before the screen actually displays. I use this code within the final viewcontroller. NSIndexPath *scrollToPath = [NSIndexPath indexPathForRow:5 inSection:0]; [theTable scrollToRowAtIndexPath:scrollToPath atScrollPosition:UITableViewScrollPositionTop animated:NO]; When I put it in viewDiDAppear method, then it briefly flashes from the intial position of the table (at the top) to the row I want. I don't want it to show the initial position. If I put it in viewDidLoad or viewWillAppear then it crashes with a NSRangeException, presumably because the table isn't set up yet. How would I get it to scroll without showing the initial position?

  I have the following code if (msg.position == 0) //removed for brevity else if (msg.position == txtArea.value.length) //removed for brevity } else { //ERROR: should not reach here. errorDivTag.innerHTML += msg.position + " " + txtArea.value.length; } I'm having some really weird situations where I'm getting the error in the last code block, but the printed positions show that msg.position is in fact equal to the txtArea.value.length. This only happens 1% of the time, almost as if I have some kind of race-condition in my code where the two are NOT equal during the second if statement, but equal when I print in the error message. Any ideas?

• Javascript How do I force a string + variable to be evaluated as a variable

  Im not even sure how to word this and is probably why I am having trouble finding an answer in google. When the code is run currentCardRow will equal 1 therefore it should be cardSelected1 which is what is shown in the console.log. I need it to go a step further because cardSelected1 is a variable and I need it to evaluate show in the console log as Invitation. Invitation is an example of a variable for cardSelected1. I am not sure on what the correct syntax is to make this happen. var currentCardSelected = "cardSelected" + currentCardRow; Thanks for your help!

  hi i got some problem i got this 3 line statement: Dim infoID As Integer = objCommand1.ExecuteScalar() Dim strSQL2 As String = "insert into feedBackHotel (infoID, feedBackView) values(" + infoID + ",'" + FeedBack + "')" Dim objCommand2 As New SqlCommand(strSQL2, conn) objCommand2.ExecuteNonQuery() the problem here is..the strSQL2 can capture the infoID from previous statement, but it didnt insert into the database. it will pop out this error "Conversion from string "insert into feedBackHotel (infoI" to type 'Double' is not valid." in both table related, use same data type (int) but for the feedBackHotel's infoID i allow it to be null..bcoz if i make it not null, it will show another error.. im using vb.net ..can anyone help?

  I'm trying to wrap my head around this... (it may be simple, been a long day!) I have a database with sometimes multiple similar records... ie. Apples 2008-09-03 Apples 2012-01-01 Apples 2013-10-24 Oranges 2012-01-04 What I need to do is do a query that will show only records that haven't been updated today... So in this case, since Apples has an entry that was updated today, none of the records for the Apples should appear in the results. Oranges should be the only record it returns. I have a query similar to this... SELECT fruit FROM fruitnames where date < CURDATE() Which works to remove the record that was updated today... But it keeps the other records for Apples (obviously)... How would I remove those results as well?

  I'm making an applications that let users take a photo and show them both in thumbnail and photo viewer. I have NSManagedObject class called photo and photo has a method that takes UIImage and converts it to PNG using UIImagePNGRepresentation() and saves it to filesystem. After this operation, resize the image to thumbnail size and save it. The problem here is UIImagePNGRepresentation() and conversion of image size seems to be really slow and I don't know if this is a right way to do it. Tell me if anyone know the best way to accomplish what I want to do. Thank you in advance.

How can I get this data to show in a query?   Hello all, I have a set of complex Excel files (with figures in it) that I want to show in a web browser. So I need to convert them into HTML page first. Since the excel files are very complex, I can not just parse them and generate a HTML table with HTML tags. The current manual solution that works fine is when I use Microsoft Excel software to save the spreadsheet as a HTML page. I want to automate this task in some way since I want to do it progrmatically through Java. Is their any existing solution or a way to do it? Thanks.

Assume $cog is a cached selector of multiple items. $cog.fadeOut('slow',function(){ alert('hey'); }) In that example, of $cog is a jQuery object of 4 DOM elements, the above will fade each element out one by one, and trigger an alert each time on the callback (4 alerts). I'd like to only call the alert when all 4 elements are done with their fadeOut function.   i am using a WPF DataGrid, and in my Details row, i would like to show separate objects within a sub collection of each grid item. Is it possible to have a finer control of Path? for example something like... I would like to make this control act like a text box with cursors and features like typing in from keyboard. Right now I use an invisible text box with a formattedtext control to act like that.   I am using rails beta 3 and I have a erb page named index.html.erb for discussions controller. In that page, I have a link as following: <%= link_to 'Delete', {:action='destroy', :id=@discussion}, :confirm="Are you sure", :method='post' % Which is supposed to generate a link to delete a discussion, however, the generated html is Delete which always routes to the show action. I think the href should be /discussions/destroy/1. But for some reason it is not. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
