    I'm (lazily) using shell_exec() to execute a Twitter API Call. shell_exec('curl -u user:password -d "id=3191321" http://api.twitter.com/1/twitterapi/twitterlist/members.xml'); That works fine when I authenticate correctly and put in a number for the id. But when I try to put in a variable ($id), it screws up. $addtolist = shell_exec('curl -u pxlist:Weekend1 -d "id='.$id.'" http://twitter.com/username/twitterlist/members.xml'); I tried flipping the quote types $addtolist = shell_exec("curl -u pxlist:Weekend1 -d 'id=$id' http://twitter.com/username/twitterlist/members.xml"); I tried using double quotes and escaping them $addtolist = shell_exec("curl -u pxlist:Weekend1 -d \"id=$id\" http://twitter.com/username/twitterlist/members.xml"); None of them worked. What am I doing wrong?

  • jQuery Cycle plugin pagerAnchorBuilder images becoming undefined

    I have a slideshow built in flash that I want to mimic in jQuery. The slide show uses the images from the slideshow as the pager numbers. The problem im having is once i apply links to the slideshow images the pagerAnchorBuilder image returns an undefined for the src of the image.   • How to scrape a _private_ google group?

    Hi there, I'd like to scrape the discussion list of a private google group. It's a multi-page list and I might have to this later again so scripting sounds like the way to go. Since this is a private group, I need to login in my google account first. Unfortunately I can't manage to login using wget or ruby Net::HTTP. Surprisingly google groups is not accessible with the Client Login interface, so all the code samples are useless. My ruby script is embedded at the end of the post. The response to the authentication query is a 200-OK but no cookies in the response headers and the body contains the message "Your browser's cookie functionality is turned off. Please turn it on." I got the same output with wget. See the bash script at the end of this message. I don't know how to workaround this. am I missing something? Any idea? Thanks in advance.     I'm trying to make sure old url's aren't broken after the site's URL structure has changed from this: http://www.domain.com/section/entry_name to this: http://www.domain.com/section/event_name/entry_name But to make it a bit more complex, I'm using the segments to sort entries, for example: http://www.domain.com/news/amazing_event/date/asc http://www.domain.com/videos/my_event/title/desc The new structure only effects one particular event (amazing_event) and should leave the other URL's alone. Where do I even begin to tackle this? My current .htaccess looks like: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php/$1 [L] Thanks - appreciate any tips.

  • Using .htaccess to server files from Amazon S3 CloudFront

    My ideal setup would be to take a current clients site, upload a .htaccess with a regex inside, that would match the URI, and if it finds a certain file extension, it would use the same path, but with an altered domain. ie. Normal path: http://www.domain.com/something/images/someimage.jpeg http://www.domain.com/assets/js/jquery.js .htaccess translated would turn the above into: http://mycdn.other.com/something/images/someimage.jpeg http://mycdn.other.com/assets/js/jquery.js I googled this for hours in a row, no luck. Again, this is for actually making use of Amazon's CloudFront. S3 is already mounted to the website for backups and storing files using s3fs, but this doesn't solve the issue since it's using S3 directly, not using the CloudFront.

    Hello there, I'm using: - Flex SDK 3.5.0 - Parsley 2.2.2. - Flash Builder 4 Down in my src folder (which is configured as part of the source path in the Flash Builder), I have a logging.xml which I configure via Parsley: FlexLoggingXmlSupport.initialize(); XmlContextBuilder.build("com/company/product/util/log/logging.xml"); When I run my application through Flash Builder, the XmlContentBuilder seems to locate the logging.xml (the implementation is a regular URLLoader one). I tried providing the XmlContentBuilder with an absolute path. That worked fine when I compiled with MXMLC via Ant, but still didn't work when I used MXMLC in the command-line...   • Problem with sessions subdomains and authlogic in Rails.

    I've got a rails app with authlogic authentication and a username.domain.com structure built with subdomain-fu. But my session breaks when going from domain.com to username.domain.com. I've tried to add config.action_controller.session = {:domain => '.localhost:3000'} to my development.rb but that seams to break authlogic disabling sign out/sign in. Any suggestions on what to do?   • Why would HTTP transfer via wget be faster than lftp/pget?

    I'm building software that needs to do massive amounts of file transfer via both HTTP and FTP. Often times, I get faster HTTP download with a multi-connection download accelerator like axel or lftp with pget. In some cases, I've seen 2x-3x faster file transfer using something like: axel http://example.com/somefile or lftp -e 'pget -n 5 http://example.com/somefile;quit' vs. just using wget: wget http://example.com/somefile But other times, wget is significantly faster than lftp. Strangly, this is even true even when I do lftp with get, like so: lftp -e 'pget -n 1 http://example.com/somefile;quit' I understand that downloading a file via multiple connections won't always result in a speedup, depending on how bandwidth is constrained. But: why would it be slower? Especially when calling lftp/pget with -n 1?

  • Comet and Simultaneous Ajax request

    Hi , I am trying to use a COMET solution using ASP.NET . Trouble is i want to implement sending and notification part in the same page. On IE7, whenever i try to send a request ,it just gets queued up. After reading on internet and stackoverflow pages i found that i can only do 2 simultaneous asyn ajax requests per page. So until i close my comet Ajax request,my 2nd request doesnt get completed ,doesnt even go out from the browser. And when i checked with Firefox i just one Ajax comet request running all time..so doesnt that leave me one more ajax request? Also the solution uses IRequiressessionstate for Asynchronous HTTP Handler which i had removed.but still it creates problems on multiple instances of IE7. I had one work around which is stated here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/282402 it means we can increase the request limit from registry by default is 2. By changing "MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server" key in hive "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" we can increase the number of requests. Basically i want to broadcast information to multiple clients connected to a server using Comet and the clients can also send messages to the Server. Broadcasting works but the send request back to server doesnt work. Im using IIS 6 and ASP.NET . Are there any more workarounds or ways to send more requests? If I remove the schema from the XML file and the validation from the PL file then it works fine. I am using the default namespace. If I change it to not use the default namespace (xmlns:lib="http://libs.domain.com" and prefix all items in the XML file with lib and change the XPath expressions to include the namespace prefix (/lib:library/lib:book) then it again works file. Why? and what am I missing?   • How to use SharpSVN to (quickly) check if a remote folder/file exists on the server

    Say i have a svn repository at https://www.mysvn.com/svn/. How can i use SharpSVN to figure out whether the remote folder https://www.mysvn.com/svn/a/b/c exists on the server? I need to do it an a way that allows me to tell the difference between a failed connection (ie server down) and the folder simply not having been created yet. Calling info on the full https://www.mysvn.com/svn/a/b/c path does not seem to give an exception that enables me to tell the difference between no repository at all and just a missing folder. I could list all files for https://www.mysvn.com/svn/ but the repository can easily be so big that this can take too long. Right now im doing an info on first the root url and then on the full url. If the root url fails i treat it as a server problem, but if it succeeds and the full url fails i assume its because part of the path hasnt been created on the server.

  • Sonar Analysis crashing with default configuration in Maven

    I'm starting to experiment with Sonar, and having trouble. I'm running everything on the same Red Hat Linux server, against Java 1.6.10. I launched the server with "bin/linux-x86-32" (the JVM is 32-bit). The sonar.log shows no SEVERE or ERROR and one WARNING, that I'm using the default Derby database (I'll fix that once I get things running at all). I am trying to build a Maven project that builds a JAR. I made no Sonar-specific changes (other than one described below). I can run "mvn clean install" with no problem. However, if I then run "mvn -e sonar:sonar", I get the stacktrace listed below. The server logs no events. I added the dependency "commons-pool:commons-pool:20030825.183949, but to no avail.   • Yahoo flagging mail as spam when using relay server

    I'm using Postfix to relay mail from my site to my mail server. Mail is received properly at my Gmail and Hotmail accounts - only Yahoo is the problem. The Yahoo mail headers state: Received-SPF: none (mta1133.mail.mud.yahoo.com: domain of xxxx@xxxxx.com does not designate permitted sender hosts) In contrast, the Gmail headers state: Received-SPF: pass (google.com: domain of xxxx@xxxxx.com designates 74.50.xxx.xxx as permitted sender) client-ip=74.50.xxx.xxx; Reverse DNS is set up correctly, as is my SPF record. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to solve the Yahoo problem (short of contacting Yahoo, as this is a brand new mail server)? FYI - I just set up domainkeys, but I'm not sure whether they should be on the origin or relay server. Thanks

    Bazaar has a Launchpad pseudo-protocol (lp:) that able the user to operate in remote branchs without write full Launchpad location, I'm searching a way to create my own pseudo-protocols in a way like this (similar to GIT): bzr remote my sftp://[email protected]/home/myuser/myrepo/ bzr push my:mybranch bzr push my:otherbranch bzr push my:anotherbranch ...instead of... bzr push sftp://[email protected]/home/myuser/myrepo/mybranch bzr push sftp://[email protected]/home/myuser/myrepo/otherbranch bzr push sftp://[email protected]/home/myuser/myrepo/anotherbranch ...that is a pain in the ass. I readed about bazaar.conf but it seems only able you to set a globals push locations for each branch/repo. Another way I saw is to use alias, but has the same problem, is very ugly when is needed to create new branches. Is posible to do this without modify the BZR code? This should be obvious...

    Hi, I am working on a script which allows users to create a stepped process. The steps will consist of sending visitors to urls where they will fill out a form then be directed to the next step the user has created. Each user can create as many steps as they wish and the url for each step will be unique. I am not sure if I am doing this in the correct/most efficient way so I have a few questions about this. Before I begin here is a simple version of my table structure: step_id user_id step_url step_order 1 1 example.com?step=1 1 2 2 test.com?step=1 1 3 1 example.com?step=3 2 A visitor will be directed to step_url: example.com?step=1 by user_id: 1 On this page there will be a form which contains a hidden field with the value of the step_id like this: <input type="hidden" name="step_id" value="1"> Once the visitor has filled out this form it will be processed by my script at a url similar to: http://mysite.com/form-process.php Once the form has been submitted I then need to direct the visitor to the next step my user has created. I would currently do this using code similar to this: SELECT step_url FROM table WHERE step_order='$current_step_order'+1 Here are my questions about this: Is this the best most efficient way to accomplish this? Or is there a better way? As the step_id column is auto increment...how would I increment the order column by 1 each time a user inserts a new step? Thanks for taking the time to read this. Paul
