  • Android: custom view onClickEvent with X & Y locations

    Hi, I've got a custom view and I want to get the X and Y coordinates of a user click. I've found that I can only get the coordinates from the onTouchEvent and an onClickEvent won't fire if I have an onTouchEvent. Unfortunately the onTouchEventfires when the user drags the screen as well as clicking. I've tried to differentiate between the two, but I still get the code firing when I'm dragging: public boolean onTouchEvent(MotionEvent event) { int action = event.getAction(); if (action == MotionEvent.ACTION_DOWN) { //fires on drag and click I've had a look at this but as I mentioned above I don't think the solution there will work as I can't get the onClick and the onTouch events working at the same time. Maybe I'm doing something wrong in this respect, is there a normal way of dealing with capturing user input on custom events? Should I be able to use the onClick and onTouch events at the same time?   • adding header row to gridview won't allow you to save the last item row

    I've modified my GridView to have an extra Header row, however that extra row has caused my grid view row count to be incorrect. Basically, when I want to save the Gridview now, it doesn't recognize the last item line. In my current test I have 5 Item Lines, however only 4 of them are being saved.     I am looking for a utility that gives me the ability to specify a binary file format and then interpret a file of bytes according to that format. (Something along the lines of the 010 Editor, but infinitely more cost-effective). Something that runs on Mac OS X would be preferred, but I'm interested to see what all is out there in general (while more of a hassle I'd be willing to run a tool on Windows if it were superior.) What's your preference?

  • Import and Export for CSV are both broken in Mathematica

    Consider the following 2 by 2 array: x = {{"a b c", "1,2,3"}, {"i \"comma-heart\" you", "i \",heart\" u, too"}} If we Export that to CSV and then Import it again we don't get the same thing back: Import[Export["tmp.csv", d]] Looking at tmp.csv it's clear that the Export didn't work, since the quotes are not escaped properly. According to the RFC which I presume is summarized correctly on Wikipedia's entry on CSV, the right way to export the above array is as follows: a b c, "1,2,3" "i ""heart"" you", "i "",heart"" u, too" Importing the above does not yield the original array either. So Import is broken as well. I've reported these bugs to [email protected] but I'm wondering if others have workarounds in the meantime. One workaround is to just use TSV instead of CSV. I tested the above with TSV and it seems to work (even with tabs embedded in the entries of the array).

  • In IIS why do HTTP requests use the host header, and FTP requests do not

    So.... In IIS, if you use the in-build FTP you need to combine the FTP host header in the FTP username e.g. www.hello.com|domain/username So, the FTP program gets its "hook" from the username. However, you can connect to the FTP site using www.hello.com:21 over the FTP port. Why then, doesnt the FTP service work the same way as the HTTP service? IIS knows what site to serve back based on the host header after all.... Thanks!

    I am using Microsoft Word 2010 to format a book. I need different headers for different parts of the book. I have put them in different sections but my problem is when I click on Header to change or delete certain headers it changes the pages around in my document. For instance when I am looking at the page regularly the writing and section for page 20 is different then the writing and section when I am looking at it with the header and footer open. This is very frustrating because I can not properly change the headers. I hope this makes sense and somebody can explain what is going on and how to resolve this!

    I'm interested in the way lala.com works. They have a header that remains fixed at the top of the browser and they have a flash music player in it. You can click on other links in the site and they are displayed below the header but the header is not disrupted and can continue playing music. If the target is a modern browser say IE8 & FF 3.6, what's the best way to achieve this? Thanks for any help.
