  • Can anyone help me find why this C program work on VS2005 but not on DEV-C++

    - by user333771
    Hello to everybody..and greetings from Greece I have a C program for an exercise and it has a strange issue The program runs just fine on VS 2005 but it crashes on DEV-C++ and the problem that the problem is that the exercise is always evaluated against DEV-C++ The program is about inserting nodes to a BST and this is where the problem lies... Well i would really appreciate some help. enter code here #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <malloc.h> typedef struct tree_node { int value; int weight; struct tree_node *left; struct tree_node *right; } TREE_NODE; /* The Following function creates a Binary Search Treed */ TREE_NODE *create_tree(int list[], int size); TREE_NODE *search_pos_to_insert(TREE_NODE *root, int value, int *left_or_right); /* this is the problematic function */ void inorder(TREE_NODE *root); /* Inorder Traversing */ TREE_NODE *temp; int main() { TREE_NODE *root; /* Pointer to the root of the BST */ int values[] = {10, 5, 3, 4, 1, 9, 6, 7, 8, 2}; /* Values for BST */ int size = 10, tree_weight; root = create_tree(values, 10); printf("\n"); inorder(root); /* Inorder BST*/ system("PAUSE"); } TREE_NODE *search_pos_to_insert(TREE_NODE *root, int value, int *left_or_right) { if(root !=NULL) { temp = root; if(value >root->value) { *left_or_right=1; *search_pos_to_insert(root->right, value, left_or_right); } else { *left_or_right=0; *search_pos_to_insert(root->left, value, left_or_right); } } else return temp;/* THIS IS THE PROBLEM (1) */ } TREE_NODE *create_tree(int list[], int size) { TREE_NODE *new_node_pntr, *insert_point, *root = NULL; int i, left_or_right; /* First Value of the Array is the root of the BST */ new_node_pntr = (TREE_NODE *) malloc(sizeof(TREE_NODE)); new_node_pntr->value = list[0]; /* ¸íèåóå ôçí ðñþôç ôéìÞ ôïõ ðßíáêá. */ new_node_pntr->weight = 0; new_node_pntr->left = NULL; new_node_pntr->right = NULL; root = new_node_pntr; /* Now the rest of the arrat. */ for (i = 1; i < size; i++) { insert_point = search_pos_to_insert(root, list[i], &left_or_right); /* THIS IS THE PROBLEM (2) */ /* insert_point just won't get the return from temp */ new_node_pntr = (TREE_NODE *) malloc(sizeof(TREE_NODE)); new_node_pntr->value = list[i]; new_node_pntr->weight = 0; new_node_pntr->left = NULL; new_node_pntr->right = NULL; if (left_or_right == 0) insert_point->left = new_node_pntr; else insert_point->right = new_node_pntr; } return(root); } void inorder(TREE_NODE *root) { if (root == NULL) return; inorder(root->left); printf("Value: %d, Weight: %d.\n", root->value, root->weight); inorder(root->right); }

  • Dynamically created jagged "rectangle" array

    - by gagar1n
    In my project I have a lot of code like this: int[][] a = new int[firstDimension][]; for (int i=0; i<firstDimension; i++) { a[i] = new int[secondDimension]; } Types of elements are different. Is there any way of writing a method like createArray(typeof(int), firstDimension, secondDimension); and getting new int[firstDimension][secondDimension]? Once again, type of elements is known only at runtime.

  • I just learned about C++ functions, can i use if statements onto functions?

    - by Sagistic
    What I am confused on is about the isNumPalindrome() function. It returns a boolean value of either true or false. How am I suppose to use that so I can display if its a palindrome or not. For ex. If (isNumPalindrome = true) cout "Your number is a palindrome" else "your number is not a palindrome." #include "stdafx.h" int _tmain(int argc, _TCHAR* argv[]) { return 0; } #include <iostream> #include <cmath> using namespace std; int askNumber(); bool isNumPalindrome(); int num, pwr; int main() { askNumber(); isNumPalindrome(); return 0; } bool isNumPalindrome() { int pwr = 0; if (num < 10) return true; else { while (num / static_cast<int>(pow(10.0, pwr)) >=10) pwr++; while (num >=10) { int tenTopwr = static_cast<int>(pow(10.0, pwr)); if ((num / tenTopwr) != (num% 10)) return false; else { num = num % tenTopwr; num = num / 10; pwr = pwr-2; } } return true; } } int askNumber() { cout << "Enter an integer in order to determine if it is a palindrome: " ; cin >> num; cout << endl; return num; }

    - by user3689
    im learning SDL , i like to create Rectangle surface with color that is not image . here is my code that compiles fine but dosnt work : im passing the function this params: SDL_Surface* m_screen = SDL_SetVideoMode(SCREEN_WIDTH,SCREEN_HEIGHT,SCREEN_BPP,SDL_SWSURFACE); SDL_FillRect(m_screen,&m_screen->clip_rect,SDL_MapRGB(m_screen->format,0xFF, 0xFF, 0xFF)); ... Button button(m_screen,0,0,50,50,255,0,0) ... ... Button::Button(SDL_Surface* screen,int x,int y,int w,int h,int R, int G, int B) { SDL_Rect box; SDL_Surface * ButtonSurface; ButtonSurface = NULL ; Uint32 rmask, gmask, bmask, amask; #if SDL_BYTEORDER == SDL_BIG_ENDIAN rmask = 0xff000000; gmask = 0x00ff0000; bmask = 0x0000ff00; amask = 0x000000ff; #else rmask = 0x000000ff; gmask = 0x0000ff00; bmask = 0x00ff0000; amask = 0xff000000; #endif box.x = x; box.y = y; box.w = w; box.h = h; ButtonSurface = SDL_CreateRGBSurface(SDL_SWSURFACE, box.w,box.h, 32, rmask, gmask, bmask, amask); if(ButtonSurface == NULL) { LOG_MSG("Button::Button Button failed"); } SDL_FillRect(screen,&box,SDL_MapRGB ( ButtonSurface->format, R, G, B )); //ut.ApplySurface(0,0,ButtonSurface,screen); SDL_BlitSurface(ButtonSurface,NULL,screen,&box); } what im doing here wrong ?

  • PHP Arrays: Pop an array of single-element arrays into one array.

    - by Rob Drimmie
    Using a proprietary framework, I am frequently finding myself in the situation where I get a resultset from the database in the following format: array(5) { [0] => array(1) { ["id"] => int(241) } [1] => array(1) { ["id"] => int(2) } [2] => array(1) { ["id"] => int(81) } [3] => array(1) { ["id"] => int(560) } [4] => array(1) { ["id"] => int(10) } } I'd much rather have a single array of ids, such as: array(5) { [0] => int(241) [1] => int(2) [2] => int(81) [3] => int(560) [4] => int(10) } To get there, I frequently find myself writing: $justIds = array(); foreach( $allIds as $id ) { $justIds[] = $id["id"]; } Is there a more efficient way to do this?

  • "Undefined reference to"

    - by user1332364
    I know that there are a lot of questions somewhat related to this one, but they answers are a bit hard for me to make sense of. I'm receiving the following error for a few different lines of code: C:\Users\Jeff\AppData\Local\Temp\ccAixtmT.o:football.cpp:(.text+0x6f0): undefined reference to `Player::set_values(int, std::string, float)' From these blocks of code: class Player { int playerNum; string playerPos; float playerRank; public: void set_values(int, string, float); float get_rank(){ return playerRank; }; bool operator == (const Player &p1/*, const Player &p2*/) const { if(&p1.playerNum == &playerNum && &p1.playerPos == &playerPos && &p1.playerRank == &playerRank) return true; else return false; }; }; And this being the main function referencing the subclass: int main() { ifstream infile; infile.open ("input.txt", ifstream::in); int numTeams; string command; while(!infile.fail() && !infile.eof()){ infile >> numTeams; string name; Player p; int playNum; string playPos; float playRank; Player all[11]; float ranks[11]; Team allTeams[numTeams]; for(int i=0; i<numTeams; i++){ infile >> name; for(int j=0; j<11; j++){ infile >> playNum; infile >> playPos; infile >> playRank; if(playPos == "QB") p.set_values(playNum, playPos, (playRank*2.0)); else if(playPos == "RB") p.set_values(playNum, playPos, (playRank*1.5)); else if(playPos == "WR") p.set_values(playNum, playPos, (playRank/1.8)); else if(playPos == "TE") p.set_values(playNum, playPos, (playRank*1.1)); else if(playPos == "GD") p.set_values(playNum, playPos, (playRank/2.0)); else if(playPos == "TC") p.set_values(playNum, playPos, (playRank/2.2)); else if(playPos == "CR") p.set_values(playNum, playPos, (playRank/1.2)); all[j] = p; allTeams[i].set_values(all, name); } } infile >> command; if (command == "play"){ int t1; int t2; infile >> t1; infile >> t2; play(allTeams[t1], allTeams[t2]); } else { int t1; int p1; int t2; int p2; swap(allTeams[t1], allTeams[t1].get_player(p1), allTeams[t2], allTeams[t2].get_player(p2)); } } }

  • How to import properties of an external API into Script#

    - by AndrewDotHay
    I'm using Script# inside Visual Studio 2010 to import the API for the HTML5 Canvas element. Its working great for things like FillRect(), MoveTo(), LineTo() and so on. I've declared the following interface and then I can code against it in C#. Then, Script# converts it to JavaScript nicely. public interface CanvasContext { void FillRect(int x, int y, int width, int height); void BeginPath(); void MoveTo(int x, int y); void LineTo(int x, int y); void Stroke(); void FillText(string text, int x, int y); } I want to include the StrokeStyle property that takes a simple string. The following interface definition produces a prefix in the JavaScript, which causes it to fail. string StrokeStyle { get; set; } string Font { get; set; } The previous property will create this JavaScript: ctx.set_strokeStyle('#FF0'); How can I get Script# to generate the simple assignment properties of the canvas context without the get_/set_ prefix?

  • How do you specify a 64 bit unsigned int const 0x8000000000000000 in VS2008?

    - by Mark Franjione
    I read about the Microsoft specific suffix "i64" for integer constants. I want to do an UNsigned shift to a ULONGLONG. ULONGLONG bigNum64 = 0x800000000000000i64 >> myval; In normal C, I would use the suffix "U", e.g. the similar 32 bit operation would be ULONG bigNum32 = 0x80000000U >> myval; I do NOT want the 2's complement sign extension to propogate through the high bits. I want an UNSIGNED shift on a 64 bit const number. I think my first statement is going to do a SIGNED shift right. I tried 0x800000000000000i64U and 0x800000000000000u64 but got compiler errors.

  • How can I create a rectangular SDL surface filled with a particular color?

    - by user3689
    I'm learning SDL. I'd like to create rectangular surface filled with a flat color (not an image). Below is my code -- it compiles fine, but doesn't work. I'm passing the function these parameters: SDL_Surface* m_screen = SDL_SetVideoMode( SCREEN_WIDTH, SCREEN_HEIGHT, SCREEN_BPP, SDL_SWSURFACE ); SDL_FillRect( m_screen, &m_screen->clip_rect, SDL_MapRGB(m_screen->format,0xFF, 0xFF, 0xFF) ); ... Button button(m_screen,0,0,50,50,255,0,0) ... ... Button::Button(SDL_Surface* screen,int x,int y,int w,int h,int R, int G, int B) { SDL_Rect box; SDL_Surface * ButtonSurface; ButtonSurface = NULL ; Uint32 rmask, gmask, bmask, amask; #if SDL_BYTEORDER == SDL_BIG_ENDIAN rmask = 0xff000000; gmask = 0x00ff0000; bmask = 0x0000ff00; amask = 0x000000ff; #else rmask = 0x000000ff; gmask = 0x0000ff00; bmask = 0x00ff0000; amask = 0xff000000; #endif box.x = x; box.y = y; box.w = w; box.h = h; ButtonSurface = SDL_CreateRGBSurface(SDL_SWSURFACE, box.w,box.h, 32, rmask, gmask, bmask, amask); if(ButtonSurface == NULL) { LOG_MSG("Button::Button Button failed"); } SDL_FillRect(screen,&box,SDL_MapRGB ( ButtonSurface->format, R, G, B )); //ut.ApplySurface(0,0,ButtonSurface,screen); SDL_BlitSurface(ButtonSurface,NULL,screen,&box); } What am I doing wrong here?

  • Question about permute-by-sorting

    - by davit-datuashvili
    In the book "Introduction to Algorithms", second edition, there is the following problem: Suppose we have some array: int a[] = {1,2,3,4} and some random priorities array: P = {36,3,97,19} and the goal is to permute the array a randomly using this priorities array. This is the pseudo code: PERMUTE-BY-SORTING (A) 1 n ? length[A] 2 for i ? 1 to n 3 do P[i] = RANDOM (1, n 3) 4 sort A, using P as sort keys 5 return A The result should be the permuted array: B={2, 4, 1, 3}; I have written this code: import java.util.*; public class Permute { public static void main (String[] args) { Random r = new Random(); int a[] = new int[] {1,2,3,4}; int n = a.length; int b[] = new int[a.length]; int p[] = new int[a.length]; for (int i=0; i<p.length; i++) { p[i] = r.nextInt(n*n*n) + 1; } // for (int i=0;i<p.length;i++){ // System.out.println(p[i]); //} } } How do I continue?

  • c# - best way to initialize an array of reference type object

    - by lidong
    I wonder if there is better way to initialize an array of reference type object, like this. Queue<int>[] queues = new Queue<int>[10]; for (int i = 0; i < queues.Length; i++) { queues[i] = new Queue<int>(); } I tried Enumerable.Repeat, but all elements in the array refer to same instance, Queue<int>[] queues = Enumerable.Repeat(new Queue<int>(), 10).ToArray(); I also tried Array.ForEach, but it doesn't work without ref keyword: Queue<int>[] queues = Array.ForEach(queues, queue => queue = new Queue<int>()); any other idea?

  • Make All Types Constant by Default in C++

    - by Jon Purdy
    What is the simplest and least obtrusive way to indicate to the compiler, whether by means of compiler options, #defines, typedefs, or templates, that every time I say T, I really mean T const? I would prefer not to make use of an external preprocessor. Since I don't use the mutable keyword, that would be acceptable to repurpose to indicate mutable state. Potential (suboptimal) solutions so far: // I presume redefinition of keywords is implementation-defined or illegal. #define int int const #define ptr * const int i(0); int ptr j(&i); typedef int const Int; typedef int const* const Intp; Int i(0); Intp j(&i); template<class T> struct C { typedef T const type; typedef T const* const ptr; }; C<int>::type i(0); C<int>::ptr j(&i);

  • Arduino: Putting servos in my class causes them to rotate all the way to one side

    - by user2526712
    I am trying to create a new class that controls two servos. My code compiles just fine. However, when I run it, the servos just turn all the way to one direction. This seems to happen when I try instantiating the class (when in the constructor, I attach the servos in the class to pins). In My class's header file, I have [UPDATED] #ifndef ServoController_h #define ServoController_h #include "Arduino.h" #include <Servo.h> class ServoController { public: ServoController(int rotateServoPin, int elevateServoPin); void rotate(int degrees); void elevate(int degrees); private: Servo rotateServo; Servo elevateServo; int elevationAngle; int azimuthAngle; }; #endif Code so far for my Class: #include "Arduino.h" #include "ServoController.h" ServoController::ServoController(int rotateServoPin, int elevateServoPin) { azimuthAngle = 0; elevationAngle = 0; elevateServo.attach(elevateServoPin); rotateServo.attach(rotateServoPin); } void ServoController::rotate(int degrees) { //TO DO rotateServo.write(degrees); } void ServoController::elevate(int degrees) { //TO DO elevateServo.write(degrees); } And finally my arduino sketch so far is just: #include <ServoController.h> #include <Servo.h> ServoController sc(2 , 3); void setup() { } void loop() { } I'm pretty sure the circuit I am using is fine, since if I do not use my class, and just use the servo library directly in my arduino file, the servos move correctly. any ideas why this might happen? [UPDATE] I actually got this working. In my constructor, I have removed the lines to attach the servos to pins. Instead, I have added another method to my class which does the attachment. ServoController::ServoController(int rotateServoPin, int elevateServoPin) { azimuthAngle = 0; elevationAngle = 0; // elevateServo.attach(elevateServoPin); // rotateServo.attach(rotateServoPin); } void ServoController::attachPins(int rotateServoPin, int elevateServoPin) { azimuthAngle = 0; elevationAngle = 0; elevateServo.attach(elevateServoPin); rotateServo.attach(rotateServoPin); } I then call this in my sketch's setup() function: void setup() { sc.attachPins(2,3); } It seems like if I attach my servos outside of the setup() function, my problem occurs. [UPDATE July 27 9:13PM] Verified something with another test: I created a new sketch where I attached a servo before setup(): #include <Servo.h> Servo servo0; servo0.attach(2); void setup() { } void loop() // this function runs repeatedly after setup() finishes { servo0.write(90); delay(2000); servo0.write(135); delay(2000); servo0.write(45); delay(2000); } When I try to compile, Arduino throws an error: "testservotest:4: error: expected constructor, destructor, or type conversion before '.' token" So there was an error, but it was not thrown when the attach method was called from a class Thanks very much

I thought the GUI would have to be declared at the bottom in the main function, so how do i then refer to it within OnCreateFile? using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Runtime.Remoting; using System.Text; using System.Diagnostics; using System.IO; using EasyHook; using System.Drawing; using System.Windows.Forms; namespace FileMon { public class FileMonInterface : MarshalByRefObject { public void IsInstalled(Int32 InClientPID) { //Console.WriteLine("FileMon has been installed in target {0}.\r\n", InClientPID); } public void OnCreateFile(Int32 InClientPID, String[] InFileNames) { for (int i = 0; i < InFileNames.Length; i++) { String[] s = InFileNames[i].ToString().Split('\t'); if (s[0].ToString().Contains("ROpen")) { //Console.WriteLine(DateTime.Now.Hour+":"+DateTime.Now.Minute+":"+DateTime.Now.Second+"."+DateTime.Now.Millisecond + "\t" + s[0] + "\t" + getProcessName(int.Parse(s[1])) + "\t" + getRootHive(s[2])); Program.ff.enterText(DateTime.Now.Hour + ":" + DateTime.Now.Minute + ":" + DateTime.Now.Second + "." + DateTime.Now.Millisecond + "\t" + s[0] + "\t" + getProcessName(int.Parse(s[1])) + "\t" + getRootHive(s[2])); } else if (s[0].ToString().Contains("RQuery")) { Console.WriteLine(DateTime.Now.Hour + ":" + DateTime.Now.Minute + ":" + DateTime.Now.Second + "." + DateTime.Now.Millisecond + "\t" + s[0] + "\t" + getProcessName(int.Parse(s[1])) + "\t" + getRootHive(s[2])); } else if (s[0].ToString().Contains("RDelete")) { Console.WriteLine(DateTime.Now.Hour + ":" + DateTime.Now.Minute + ":" + DateTime.Now.Second + "." + DateTime.Now.Millisecond + "\t" + s[0] + "\t" + getProcessName(int.Parse(s[0])) + "\t" + getRootHive(s[1])); } else if (s[0].ToString().Contains("FCreate")) { //Console.WriteLine(DateTime.Now.Hour+":"+DateTime.Now.Minute+":"+DateTime.Now.Second+"."+DateTime.Now.Millisecond + "\t" + s[0] + "\t" + getProcessName(int.Parse(s[1])) + "\t" + s[2]); } } } public void ReportException(Exception InInfo) { Console.WriteLine("The target process has reported an error:\r\n" + InInfo.ToString()); } public void Ping() { } public String getProcessName(int ID) { String name = ""; Process[] process = Process.GetProcesses(); for (int i = 0; i < process.Length; i++) { if (process[i].Id == ID) { name = process[i].ProcessName; } } return name; } public String getRootHive(String hKey) { int r = hKey.CompareTo("2147483648"); int r1 = hKey.CompareTo("2147483649"); int r2 = hKey.CompareTo("2147483650"); int r3 = hKey.CompareTo("2147483651"); int r4 = hKey.CompareTo("2147483653"); if (r == 0) { return "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT"; } else if (r1 == 0) { return "HKEY_CURRENT_USER"; } else if (r2 == 0) { return "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"; } else if (r3 == 0) { return "HKEY_USERS"; } else if (r4 == 0) { return "HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG"; } else return hKey.ToString(); } } class Program : System.Windows.Forms.Form { static String ChannelName = null; public static Form1 ff; Program() // ADD THIS CONSTRUCTOR { InitializeComponent(); } static void Main() { try { Config.Register("A FileMon like demo application.", "FileMon.exe", "FileMonInject.dll"); RemoteHooking.IpcCreateServer<FileMonInterface>(ref ChannelName, WellKnownObjectMode.SingleCall); Process[] p = Process.GetProcesses(); for (int i = 0; i < p.Length; i++) { try { RemoteHooking.Inject(p[i].Id, "FileMonInject.dll", "FileMonInject.dll", ChannelName); } catch (Exception e) { } } } catch (Exception ExtInfo) { Console.WriteLine("There was an error while connecting to target:\r\n{0}", ExtInfo.ToString()); } } } }
