  Hello. I'm trying to use a select object to filter the results of a many to many rowset. This call works great: $articles = $this->model->findArticlesViaArticlesUsers(); This however does not: $articles = new Default_Model_Articles(); $articleSelect = $articles->select(); $articleSelect->where("status = 'published'") ->order("date_published DESC") ->limit(1); $articles = $this->model->findArticlesViaArticlesUsers($articleSelect); That throws the following error: exception 'Zend_Db_Select_Exception' with message 'You cannot define a correlation name 'i' more than once' I can't figure out how to successfully get "articles that have the status of 'published'" using the magic many-to-many relationship (nor findManyToManyRowset). I'm at the end of my rope and thinking of just writing the sql manually. Any ideas?

• Freemarker template not found

  Hi, I'm currently trying to get Freemarker to work with my application using Spring. No matter what I try I keep getting template not found. I am not sure if I have the configuration set up properly, but it never finds my template. Here is my spring bean config: <bean id="freemarkerConfig" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.freemarker.FreeMarkerConfigurer"> <property name="templateLoaderPath" value="/WEB-INF/freemarker/"/> </bean> Whenever I try to call getTemplate on the freemaker configuration it always sends back a template not found error. So if I do configuration.getTemplate("testTemplate.ftl") it always throws an IOException. I'm not sure if anyone has an idea of what I'm doing wrong. Thanks for all your help!

  Hi Everyone, My environment: Windows 2003, VS 2008, .NET 3.5 C# .NET application. During loading my application I call method from C++ dll (Knowl.dll) through my third-party dll library (Common.dll) written in C#. After first deploy (from VS to Developing server) evrything works fine. Then I stops Developing Server, doesn't any changes in code and redeploy. Throws AccessViolationException on this imported method. What is it? On second and after redeplies - the same error. Only after deletin source code and recheckout it from CVS I can normally start server.   Does SQL server expect numbers to be specified with digits from the latin alphabet, e.g.: 0123456789 Is it valid to give SQL Server digits in other alphabets? Rosetta Stone: Latin: 01234567890 Arabic: ?????????? Bengali: ?????????? i know that the client (ADO) will convert 8-bit strings to 16-bit unicode strings using the current culture. But the client is also converting numbers to strings using their current culture, e.g.: SELECT * FROM Inventory WHERE Quantity > ???,?? Which throws SQL Server for fits. i know that the server/database has it's defined code page and locale, but that is for strings. Will SQL Server interpret numbers using the active (or per-login specified) locale, or must all numeric values be specifid with latin numeral digits?

  I'm somewhat new to Unity and dependency injection. I'm trying to write a unit test that goes something like this: [Test] public void Test() { UnityContainer container = new UnityContainer(); DynamicMock myMock = new DynamicMock(typeof(IMyInterface)); container.RegisterInstance(typeof(IMyInterface), myMock.MockInstance); //Error here // Continue unit test... } When this test executes, the container throws an ArgumentNullException inside the RegisterInstance method with the message Value cannot be null. Parameter name: assignmentValueType. The top line of the stack trace is at Microsoft.Practices.Unity.Utility.Guard.TypeIsAssignable(Type assignmentTargetType, Type assignmentValueType, String argumentName). Why can't I register a MockInstance with the UnityContainer, and how do I work around this?

• AudioQueueOfflineRender returning empty data

  I'm having problems using AudioQueueOfflineRender to decode AAC data. When I examine the buffer after the call, it is always filled with empty data. I made sure the input buffer is valid and packet descriptions are provided. I searched and found that a few others have had the same problem: http://lists.apple.com/archives/Coreaudio-api/2008/Jul/msg00119.html Also, the inTimestamp argument doesn't make sense to me. Why should the renderer care where in the audio the beginning of the buffer corresponds to? The function throws an error if I pass in NULL, so I pass in the timestamp anyway.

• ASP.NET MVC as a service host for SOA like architecture

  I'm creating a distributed application that includes a lot of services and I'm looking for the technology that allows me to create and manage a lot of services easily. I know managing and deploying windows services is not fun. I'm thinking of using ASP.NET MVC as service host of my services where each controller action becomes essentially a service and I can communicate with a service via simple HTTP request and responses and not have to deal with complexity if i use something like WCF. Services need to be isolated and asp.net requests are isolated as far as i know, i.e. if a request throws an exception it will not effect other running requests. But I still have questions about the management of the services. How will it be possible to see which services are running, stopping and resuming services. Also ASP.NET MVC are passive, i.e. they only do something upon a request but what if i want to service that initiates work by itself?

• [Ruby] Why do I have to URI.encode even safe characters for Net::HTTP requests?

  I was trying to send a GET request to Twitter (user ID replaced for privacy reasons) using Net::HTTP: url = URI.parse("http://api.twitter.com/1/friends/ids.json?user_id=12345") resp = Net::HTTP.get_response(url) this throws an exception in Net::HTTP: NoMethodError: undefined method empty?' for #<URI::HTTP:0x59f5c04> from /System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/1.8/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/net/http.rb:1470:ininitialize' just by coincidence, I stumbled upon a similar code snippet, which used URI.encode prior to URI.parse, so I copied that and tried again: url = URI.parse(URI.encode("http://api.twitter.com/1/friends/ids.json?user_id=12345")) resp = Net::HTTP.get_response(url) now it works fine, but why? There are no reserved characters that need escaping in the URL I mentioned, so why do I have to call URI.encode for get_response to succeed?

  Hi, I am trying to make a service call to a php function from flex, through Zend AMF. Most of the functions get called fine, but for one particular function, it throws the following exception: InvocationTargetException:There was an error while invoking the operation. Check your operation inputs or server code and try invoking the operation again. Reason: Fatal error: Call to a member function getInvokeArguments() on a non-object in D:\wamp\www\ZendFramework\library\Zend\Amf\Server.php on line 328 I am not able to debug through this - has anyone faced any issue like this before, or have any ideas how this can be debugged?

• Bind a users role to dropdown?

  Hi... I'm trying to bind a selected user's role to a dropdown-list. The purpose of this is to be able to change said user's role. I'm attempting this inside a formview hooked up to a linqdatasource which contains a row from the aspnet_User table. The dropdown list is hooked up to a linqdatasource of all the roles in the aspnet_Roles table (with DataValueField="RoleID", DataTextField="RoleName"). I figured it would be possible with something like: SelectedValue='<%# Bind("aspnet_UsersInRole[0].aspnet_Role.RoleID") %>' But this throws a parser exception, about the bind call not being correctly formatted. The roles are there, they show up when I remove the "SelectedValue" Can anyone point me in the right direction?

• How to debug .net error where message is masked in Ajax call

  Hi, I'm currently working on a page which makes use of the MS Ajax UpdatePanel. However I've run into a strange problem. If I simply compile and view my page, one of the button click events results in an error. However, because the button affects items inside an UpdatePanel the actual exception is hidden from me: all I'm getting is a HTTP 500 error returned to me through the UpdatePanel Javascript. What's odd about this is that if I step through the code line by line in Visual Studio, I don't get the error. The button doesn't cause the behaviour I'm expecting, but it throws no errors. Because the step through isn't causing an error to be thrown, I'm at a loss how I can get to the actual exception message so I can find out where the error is being thrown and debug it.   Suppose I have a dependency that is registered as HttpRequestScoped so there is only one instance per request. How could I resolve a dependency of the same type outside of an HttpRequest? • Yii: Saving date and time in DB

  I am having trouble saving the date in DB through Model. In my controller, if I dump the date in log that I receive from $_POST , I get the date in this format "10/Nov/2012 07:30". If I use: $AccountAppointment->start_date=Yii::app()->dateFormatter->format($_POST['AccountAppointment']['start_date'], 'dd/M/yyyy HH:mm'); I get the error: Invalid datetime format: 1292 Incorrect datetime value: '10/NoGMT+5/2012 07:30' for column 'start_date' Changing the format in dateFormatter to 'dd/M/yyyy HH:mm' or 'dd/MM/yyyy HH:mm' or 'dd/MMM/yyyy HH:mm' throws the same error. Db is MySQL 5.0, Yii version 1.1.12. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I am almost stuck....thanks....

Event validation is enabled using in configuration or <%@ Page EnableEventValidation="true" % in a page. For security purposes, this feature verifies that arguments to postback or callback events originate from the server control that originally rendered them. If the data is valid and expected, use the ClientScriptManager.RegisterForEventValidation method in order to register the postback or callback data for validation. However, when I try to resolve ISpecification<ZImplementation> Windsor throws an exception: "No component for supporting the service ISpecification'1[ZImplementation, AssemblyInfo...] was found" Does Windsor support resolving generic implementations down to base classes if no more specific implementation is registered?

Also i thought that maybe it's because the default fonts somehow do not support utf-8 so according to pisa documentation i tried to set fontface in template body in style section. that still gave no results. Does any one have some ideas how to solve this issue?

• UnauthorizedAccessException cannot resolve Directory.GetFiles failure

  Hi all, Directory.GetFiles method fails on the first encounter with a folder it has no access rights to. The method throws an UnauthorizedAccessException (which can be caught) but by the time this is done, the method has already failed/terminated. The code I am using is listed below: try { // looks in stated directory and returns the path of all files found getFiles = Directory.GetFiles(@directoryToSearch, filetype, SearchOption.AllDirectories); } catch (UnauthorizedAccessException) { } As far as I am aware, there is no way to check beforehand whether a certain folder has access rights defined. In my example, I'm searching on a disk across a network and when I come across a root access only folder, my program fails. I have searched for a few days now for any sort of resolve, but this problem doesn't seem to be very prevalent on here or Google. I look forward to any suggestions you may have, Regards

I'd like to add a timeout parameter to the method so that if the command being called doesn't finish in a reasonable amount of time the method will return with an error code. • Appscript to write iTunes artwork

  I'm trying to capture artwork from a pict file and embed into a track on iTunes using python appscript. I did something like this: imFile = open('/Users/kartikaiyer/temp.pict','r') data = imFile.read() it = app('iTunes') sel = it.current_track.get() sel.artworks[0].data_.set(data[513:]) I get an error OSERROR: -1731 MESSAGE: Unknown object Similar applescript code looks like this: tell application "iTunes" set the_artwork to read (POSIX file "/Users/kartikaiyer/temp.pict") from 513 as picture set data of artwork 1 of current track to the_artwork end tell I tried using ASTranslate but it never instantiates 'the_artwork' and then throws an error when there is a reference to the_artwork. Can anyone help. I'm new to appscript and python in general.
