  • JDBC CallableStatement and Oracle SYS_REFCURSOR IN parameters?

    - by deebo
Pretty much what it says in the title, how the hell is this supposed to be done? Basically i need to pass a null (empty?) ref cursor as an IN parameter to a stored procedure. /** spring's PreparedStatementSetter#setValues(...) */ public void setValues(PreparedStatement ps) throws SQLException { CallableStatement cs = (CallableStatement) ps; cs.setString(1,"constant"); //this is the IN param cs.setNull(2, OracleTypes.CURSOR); //this is the OUT param cs.registerOutParameter(3, OracleTypes.CURSOR); } And this fails with: caused by: java.sql.SQLException: Unsupported feature: sqlType=-10 at oracle.jdbc.driver.DatabaseError.throwSqlException(DatabaseError.java:112) at oracle.jdbc.driver.DatabaseError.throwSqlException(DatabaseError.java:146) at oracle.jdbc.driver.OraclePreparedStatement.setNullCritical(OraclePreparedStatement.java:4399) at oracle.jdbc.driver.OraclePreparedStatement.setNullInternal(OraclePreparedStatement.java:4161) at oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleCallableStatement.setNull(OracleCallableStatement.java:4472) I'm at a loss here, tried several different ways to do this, but I couldn't find any examples about this and have no idea how to do it properly.

  • How to create a Java String from the contents of a file

    - by Oscar Reyes
    I've been using this idiom for some time now. And it seems to be the most wide spread at least in the sites I've visited. Does anyone have a better/different way to read a file into a string in Java. Thanks private String readFile( String file ) throws IOException { BufferedReader reader = new BufferedReader( new FileReader (file)); String line = null; StringBuilder stringBuilder = new StringBuilder(); String ls = System.getProperty("line.separator"); while( ( line = reader.readLine() ) != null ) { stringBuilder.append( line ); stringBuilder.append( ls ); } return stringBuilder.toString(); }

  • How to handle data output in an Observer?

    - by Mannaz
I have an Observable and an Observer. The observable does download some stuff in a background thread and calls notifyObservers to let the observers read the status. At some point in public void update the observer tries to updates the GUI ((TextView)findViewById('R.id.foo')).setText("bar"); but it seems like the observable thread calls this method, because the Observable (!!!) throws this: android.view.ViewRoot$CalledFromWrongThreadException: Only the original thread that created a view hierarchy can touch its views. at android.view.ViewRoot.checkThread(ViewRoot.java:2462) at android.view.ViewRoot.requestLayout(ViewRoot.java:512) ... at com.mynamespace.acitivty.TrackActivity.startPlay(TrackActivity.java:72) at com.mynamespace.acitivty.TrackActivity.update(TrackActivity.java:107) at java.util.Observable.notifyObservers(Observable.java:147) at java.util.Observable.notifyObservers(Observable.java:128) at com.mynamespace.module.communication.Download.stateChanged(Download.java:213) at com.mynamespace.module.communication.Download.run(Download.java:186) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:1058) Is there some way I can prevent this from happening? I'm sure I'm missing something obvious here.

  • How to get java to recognize symbolic links under cygwin

    - by Keith Randall
Here's a very simple java program to print the first line of a file: import java.io.* public class test { public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException { System.out.print(new BufferedReader(new FileReader(args[0])).readLine()); } } When I run this program under cygwin and pass it the name of a symbolic link, it prints the contents of the symbolic link, not the target of that link: $ echo foo > testfile $ ln -s testfile symlink_to_testfile $ java test testfile foo $ java test symlink_to_testfile !<symlink> ?t e s t f i l e How do I convince java to follow the symlink? I was hoping there was something simpler than implementing the redirect myself.

  • String to date (Invalid format)

    - by MrThys
I am using Joda Time library to convert my String dates to a real date, because this seemed like the easiest solution to do this. I am using the DateTime object to do this; new DateTime(strValue); But when inserting some formats it throws me the exception; java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid format: "Mon, 30 Sep 2002 01:56:02 GMT" java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid format: "Sun, 29 Sep 2002 19:59:01 GMT" java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid format: "Mon, 30 Sep 2002 01:52:02 GMT" java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid format: "Sun, 29 Sep 2002 17:05:20 GMT" java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid format: "Sun, 29 Sep 2002 19:09:28 GMT" java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid format: "Sun, 29 Sep 2002 15:01:02 GMT" java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid format: "Sun, 29 Sep 2002 23:48:33 GMT" java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid format: "Sun, 29 Sep 2002 17:24:20 GMT" java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Invalid format: "Sun, 29 Sep 2002 11:13:10 GMT" Is there a way to solve this, or should I use something else instead of DateTime.

  • How to debug .net error where message is masked in Ajax call

    - by Matt Thrower
Hi, I'm currently working on a page which makes use of the MS Ajax UpdatePanel. However I've run into a strange problem. If I simply compile and view my page, one of the button click events results in an error. However, because the button affects items inside an UpdatePanel the actual exception is hidden from me: all I'm getting is a HTTP 500 error returned to me through the UpdatePanel Javascript. What's odd about this is that if I step through the code line by line in Visual Studio, I don't get the error. The button doesn't cause the behaviour I'm expecting, but it throws no errors. Because the step through isn't causing an error to be thrown, I'm at a loss how I can get to the actual exception message so I can find out where the error is being thrown and debug it. Suggestions gratefully received. Cheers, Matt

  • YUI Compressor + gzip causes Illegal Character error in jQuery

    - by lo_fye
When I minify jquery using YUI compressor, it works fine. When I then add gzip compression (and serve this version via mod rewrite), the gzipped version throws this error: illegal character in jquery.min.js on line 1 Line 1 is: ???????M???????????s?8?0???!sz?dKr?=? This results in a "jquery is not defined" error. I am using the following rewrite rules to serve up the gzipped versions: #Check to see if browser can accept gzip files. ReWriteCond %{HTTP:accept-encoding} (gzip.*) #make sure there's no trailing .gz on the url ReWriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !^.+\.gz$ #check to see if a .gz version of the file exists. RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}.gz -f #All conditions met so add .gz to URL filename (invisibly) RewriteRule ^(.+) $1.gz [L] I can't find any references to this happening to anyone else. Thoughts?

  • Can I inject a SessionBean into a JEE AroundInvoke-Interceptor?

    - by Michael Locher
I have an EAR with modules: foo-api.jar foo-impl.jar interceptor.jar In foo-api there is: @Local FooService // (interface of a local stateless session bean) In foo-impl there is: @Stateless FooServiceImpl implements FooService //(implementation of the foo service) In interceptor.jar I want public class BazInterceptor { @EJB private FooService foo; @AroundInvoke public Object intercept( final InvocationContext i) throws Exception { // do someting with foo service return i.proceed(); } The question is: Will a Java EE 5 compliant application server (e.g. JBoss 5) inject into the interceptor? If no, what is good strategy for accessing the session bean? To consider: Deployment ordering / race conditions

  • Amazon SQS invalid binary character in message body

    - by letronje
    I have a web app that sends messages to an Amazon SQS Queue. Amazon sqs lib throws a 'AmazonSQSException' since the message contained invalid binary character. The message is the referrer obtained from an incoming http request. This is what it looks like: http://ads.vrx.adbrite.com/adserver/display_iab_ads.php?sid=1220459&title_color=0000FF&text_color=000000&background_color=FFFFFF&border_color=CCCCCC&url_color=008000&newwin=0&zs=3330305f323530&width=300&height=250&url=http%3A%2F%2Funblockorkutproxy.com%2Fsearch.php%2FOi8vZG93%2FbmxvYWRz%2FLnppZGR1%2FLmNvbS9k%2Fb3dubG9h%2FZGZpbGUv%2FNTY5MTQ3%2FNi9NeUN1%2FdGVHaXJs%2FZnJpZW5k%2FWmFoaXJh%2FLndtdi5o%2FdG1s%2Fb0%2F^Fô}úÃ<99ë)j Looks like the characters in bold are the invalid characters. My linq Query which throws error var obj1= (from obj in dbContext.tab1s where obj.id== 123 select obj).FirstOrDefault<Tab1>();

  • unable to inject seam cache provider

    - by Joshua
Env: Seam 2.2, ehcache-core 2.1.0 I tried injecting the CacheProvider using the following call in my bean scoped for session @In CacheProvider cacheProvider; WEB-INF\components.xml contains the following line to enable the cache provider <cache:eh-cache-provider/> The above configuration seems to return a null value for the cache provider Using the cache provider like this CacheProvider cacheProvider = CacheProvider.instance(); throws the following warning 15:29:27,586 WARN [CacheManager] Creating a new instance of CacheManager using the diskStorePath "C:\DOCUME~1\user5\LOCALS~1\Temp\" which is already used by an existing CacheManager. The source of the configuration was net.sf.ehcache.config.generator.Configuratio nSource$DefaultConfigurationSource@15ed0f9. The diskStore path for this CacheManager will be set to C:\DOCUME~1\user5\LOCALS ~1\Temp\\ehcache_auto_created_1276682367586. To avoid this warning consider using the CacheManager factory methods to create a singleton CacheManager or specifying a separate ehcache configuration (ehcache .xml) for each CacheManager instance. What am I missing here?

  • Classloader problems Tomcat 6 javagent

    - by alecswan
I am using Salve Dependency Injection library that instruments the byte code of the web application. I specified -javaagent in Tomcat VM options and pointed it to the Salve agent jar. The agent jar gets loaded, but then it throws a java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError unable to find classes that are in other Salve jars which are located in WEB-INF/lib folder of my web app. I can solve this problem by putting those JARs in Tomcat/endorsed folder. However, some of those jars depend on third-party libraries, such as Spring and servlet-api.jar. Therefore, I am forced to put all these dependencies in Tomcat/endorsed as well. Could anybody suggest a better way for handling dependencies of a Tomcat javaagent? Thanks.

  • SharePoint Custom Application Page does not recognize tagPrefix defined in custom web.config

    - by Hasan Khan
I have a custom application page integrated in Centeral Administration. My application pages are placed in a subfolder in Template\Admin folder. I placed my own web.config in my subfolder and added tagPrefixes in the control section. However when I open my application page ASP.NET throws the exception that the tag SharePoint:InputFormTextBox was not recognized. Moving the add tagprefix statements in root web.config solves the problem but thats not acceptable in my case and I can't define them in individual pages either. What am I doing wrong? Or it doesn't work this way? What can i do to achieve this?

  • Issue with multipart upload in servlet on seam

I created a servlet wich works fine when deployed in a separate war file, but I intend to use it as part of a seam application. I use commons-fileupload but the iterator (see snippet) returns false (only when included in the seam-app). Any ideas? protected void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException { try { String action = request.getParameter( "action" ); if ( ServletFileUpload.isMultipartContent( request ) ) { log.info( "MULTIPART" ); } ServletFileUpload upload = new ServletFileUpload(); FileItemIterator iter = upload.getItemIterator( request ); // --------- hasNext() returns false, only in seam ----------- while ( iter.hasNext() ) { ...... } Additional Info: I don't want to use the technique described here since the uploading client is curl. The HttpServletRequest is wrapped by org.jboss.seam.web.IdentityRequestWrapper Using the seam

  • window.onbeforeunload and window.location.href in IE

    - by Zuber
We are using window.location.href to navigate the user to a page. Also, we have configured the window.onbeforeunload event to alert users in case there are any unsaved changes. window.onbeforeunload = confirmBeforeClose; function confirmBeforeClose() { if (jwd.global.inEditMode) return "Your changes will not be saved :) and you will be punished to death"; } In places where there are unsaved changes, and I try to use window.location.href to navigate the user, I get the alert message. It works fine if I click OK on the popup. However, if I click CANCEL, the JS throws an unspecified error at window.location.href. Any help is appreciated.

  • How can I render a Batik SVG Java object in the view portion of a Spring MVC application?

I am creating and manipulating a SVGOMDocument object in a controller method. How can I render this object in a JSP view? I get very close with the following controller method and <object> tag. @RequestMapping(value = "/seal") public ResponseEntity<SVGDocument> createSeal() throws IOException { InputStream file = new ClassPathResource("seal.svg").getInputStream(); String parser = XMLResourceDescriptor.getXMLParserClassName(); SAXSVGDocumentFactory factory = new SAXSVGDocumentFactory(parser); SVGDocument svg = (SVGDocument) factory.createDocument("http://www.w3.org/2000/svg", file); svg.getElementById("name").getFirstChild().setNodeValue("a test name"); return new ResponseEntity<SVGDocument>(svg, HttpStatus.OK); } <object data="/seal" type="image/svg+xml"></object> This displays a string of XML that is a SVG. The string is in quotes with every XML quote escaped.

  • JavaFX FXML communication between Application and Controller classes

    - by likethesky
I am trying to get and destroy an external process I've created via ProcessBuilder in my FXML application close, but it's not working. This is based on the helpful advice Sergey Grinev gave me here. I have tried running with/without the "// myController.setApp(this);" and with "// super.stop();" at top of subclass and at bottom (see commented out/in for that line in MyApp), but no combination works. This probably isn't related to FXML or JavaFX, though I imagine this is a common pattern for developing apps on JavaFX. I suppose I'm asking for a Java best practice for closing dependent processes in a UI-based app like this one (in this case: FXML / JavaFX based), where there is a controller class and an application class. Can you explain what I'm doing wrong? Or better: advise what I should be doing instead? Thanks. In my Application I do this: public class MyApp extends Application { @Override public void start(Stage primaryStage) throws Exception { FXMLLoader fxmlLoader = new FXMLLoader(); Scene scene = (Scene)FXMLLoader.load(getClass().getResource("MyApp.fxml")); MyAppController myController = (MyAppController)fxmlLoader.getController(); primaryStage.setScene(scene); primaryStage.show(); // myController.setApp(this); } @Override public void stop() throws Exception { // super.stop(); // this is called on fx app close, you may call it in an action handler too if (MyAppController.getScriptProcess() != null) { MyAppController.getScriptProcess().destroy(); } super.stop(); } public static void main(String[] args) { launch(args); } } In my Controller I do this: public class MyAppController implements Initializable { private Application app; private static Process scriptProcess; public void setApp(Application a) { app = a; } public static Process getScriptProcess() { return scriptProcess; } } The result when I run with the "commented-out setApp()" not commented out (that is, left in the start method), is the following, immediately upon launch (the main Scene flashes, then disappears, then this dialog appears: "JavaFX Launcher Error: Exception while running Application" And it gives an, "Exception in Application start method" in the console as well. The result when I leave out the "commented-out code" in my MyApp above (that is, remove the "setApp()" from the start method), is that my app does indeed close, but gives this error when it closes: Exception in thread "JavaFX Application Thread" java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException at javafx.fxml.FXMLLoader$ControllerMethodEventHandler.handle(FXMLLoader.java:1440) at com.sun.javafx.event.CompositeEventHandler.dispatchBubblingEvent(CompositeEventHandler.java:69) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventHandlerManager.dispatchBubblingEvent(EventHandlerManager.java:217) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventHandlerManager.dispatchBubblingEvent(EventHandlerManager.java:170) at com.sun.javafx.event.CompositeEventDispatcher.dispatchBubblingEvent(CompositeEventDispatcher.java:38) at com.sun.javafx.event.BasicEventDispatcher.dispatchEvent(BasicEventDispatcher.java:37) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventDispatchChainImpl.dispatchEvent(EventDispatchChainImpl.java:92) at com.sun.javafx.event.BasicEventDispatcher.dispatchEvent(BasicEventDispatcher.java:35) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventDispatchChainImpl.dispatchEvent(EventDispatchChainImpl.java:92) at com.sun.javafx.event.BasicEventDispatcher.dispatchEvent(BasicEventDispatcher.java:35) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventDispatchChainImpl.dispatchEvent(EventDispatchChainImpl.java:92) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventUtil.fireEventImpl(EventUtil.java:53) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventUtil.fireEvent(EventUtil.java:28) at javafx.event.Event.fireEvent(Event.java:171) at javafx.scene.Node.fireEvent(Node.java:6863) at javafx.scene.control.Button.fire(Button.java:179) at com.sun.javafx.scene.control.behavior.ButtonBehavior.mouseReleased(ButtonBehavior.java:193) at com.sun.javafx.scene.control.skin.SkinBase$4.handle(SkinBase.java:336) at com.sun.javafx.scene.control.skin.SkinBase$4.handle(SkinBase.java:329) at com.sun.javafx.event.CompositeEventHandler.dispatchBubblingEvent(CompositeEventHandler.java:64) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventHandlerManager.dispatchBubblingEvent(EventHandlerManager.java:217) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventHandlerManager.dispatchBubblingEvent(EventHandlerManager.java:170) at com.sun.javafx.event.CompositeEventDispatcher.dispatchBubblingEvent(CompositeEventDispatcher.java:38) at com.sun.javafx.event.BasicEventDispatcher.dispatchEvent(BasicEventDispatcher.java:37) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventDispatchChainImpl.dispatchEvent(EventDispatchChainImpl.java:92) at com.sun.javafx.event.BasicEventDispatcher.dispatchEvent(BasicEventDispatcher.java:35) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventDispatchChainImpl.dispatchEvent(EventDispatchChainImpl.java:92) at com.sun.javafx.event.BasicEventDispatcher.dispatchEvent(BasicEventDispatcher.java:35) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventDispatchChainImpl.dispatchEvent(EventDispatchChainImpl.java:92) at com.sun.javafx.event.BasicEventDispatcher.dispatchEvent(BasicEventDispatcher.java:35) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventDispatchChainImpl.dispatchEvent(EventDispatchChainImpl.java:92) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventUtil.fireEventImpl(EventUtil.java:53) at com.sun.javafx.event.EventUtil.fireEvent(EventUtil.java:33) at javafx.event.Event.fireEvent(Event.java:171) at javafx.scene.Scene$MouseHandler.process(Scene.java:3324) at javafx.scene.Scene$MouseHandler.process(Scene.java:3164) at javafx.scene.Scene$MouseHandler.access$1900(Scene.java:3119) at javafx.scene.Scene.impl_processMouseEvent(Scene.java:1559) at javafx.scene.Scene$ScenePeerListener.mouseEvent(Scene.java:2261) at com.sun.javafx.tk.quantum.GlassViewEventHandler.handleMouseEvent(GlassViewEventHandler.java:228) at com.sun.glass.ui.View.handleMouseEvent(View.java:528) at com.sun.glass.ui.View.notifyMouse(View.java:922) at com.sun.glass.ui.gtk.GtkApplication._runLoop(Native Method) at com.sun.glass.ui.gtk.GtkApplication$3$1.run(GtkApplication.java:82) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:722) Caused by: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:57) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:43) at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:601) at javafx.fxml.FXMLLoader$ControllerMethodEventHandler.handle(FXMLLoader.java:1435) ... 44 more Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException at mypackage.MyController.handleCancel(MyController.java:300) ... 49 more Clean up...

    - by ObiWanKenobi
I am trying to use the ASP.NET (3.5) "Routing Module" functionality to create custom pages based on the contents of the URL. Various articles, such as this one: http://blogs.msdn.com/mikeormond/archive/2008/05/14/using-asp-net-routing-independent-of-mvc.aspx explain how to use ASP.NET Routing to branch to existing pages on the web server. What I would like to do is create the page on-the-fly using code. My first attempt looks like this: public class SimpleRouteHandler : IRouteHandler { public IHttpHandler GetHttpHandler(RequestContext requestContext) { string pageName = requestContext.RouteData.GetRequiredString("PageName"); Page myPage = new Page(); myPage.Response.Write("hello " + pageName); return myPage; } } But this throws an HTTPException saying "Response is not available in this context." at the Response.Write statement. Any ideas on how to proceed? UPDATE: In the end, I went with an approach based on IHttpModule, which turned out to be rather easy.

  • Parsing Indentation-based syntaxes in Haskell's Parsec

    - by pavpanchekha
I'm trying to parse an indentation-based language (think Python, Haskell itself, Boo, YAML) in Haskell using Parsec. I've seen the IndentParser library, and it looks like it's the perfect match, but what I can't figure out is how to make my TokenParser into an indentation parser. Here's the code I have so far: import qualified Text.ParserCombinators.Parsec.Token as T import qualified Text.ParserCombinators.Parsec.IndentParser.Token as IT lexer = T.makeTokenParser mylangDef ident = IT.identifier lexer This throws the error: parser2.hs:29:28: Couldn't match expected type `IT.TokenParser st' against inferred type `T.GenTokenParser s u m' In the first argument of `IT.identifier', namely `lexer' In the expression: IT.identifier lexer In the definition of `ident': ident = IT.identifier lexer What am I doing wrong? How should I create an IT.TokenParser? Or is IndentParser broken and to be avoided?

  • dynamically created datagridview columns not accessible unless added to a form...why?

    - by deostroll
We simply created a DataGridView control dynamically and bound it to a DataTable. We were tying to style certain columns. But, when we tried to access the columns we got a null reference. On further investigation we found that if we add the DataGridView control to the main form, and then try to access its columns, it works fine!!! Code which throws error: DataGridView gv = new DataGridView(); gv.DataSource = GetDataTable(); //binding it to datatable Debug.Assert(gv.Columns == null); Code which works fine: DataGridView gv = new DataGridView(); gv.DataSource = GetDataTable(); //binding it to datatable this.Controls.Add(gv); //adding to form Debug.Assert(gv.Columns == null); //the assertion fails! Why is this behaviour so? Is there a workaround for this?
