  • rbenv not changing ruby version

    So i installed rbenv according to the github directions. I am running OSX but i have tried this on a Ubuntu 12.04 VM and got the same results. The following is what i get in my terminal when i try to change ruby versions: rbenv versions * 1.9.3-p0 (set by /Users/user/.rbenv/version) 1.9.3-p125 rbenv global 1.9.3-p0 rbenv rehash ruby -v ruby 1.8.7 (2011-12-28 patchlevel 357) [universal-darwin11.0] which ruby /usr/bin/ruby Anyone have any ideas as to why rbenv isnt actually switching the ruby version like it thinks it is? Aslo there is no .rbenv file in the local directory that would be causing the ruby version to default to 1.8.7 rbenv local rbenv: no local version configured for this directory

  • I keep on getting "save operation failure" after any change on my XCode Data Model

    I started using Core Data for iPhone development. I started out by creating a very simple entity (called Evaluation) with just one string property (called evaluationTopic). I had following code for inserting a fresh string: - (void)insertNewObject { // Create a new instance of the entity managed by the fetched results controller. NSManagedObjectContext *context = [fetchedResultsController managedObjectContext]; NSEntityDescription *entity = [[fetchedResultsController fetchRequest] entity]; NSManagedObject *newManagedObject = [NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:[entity name] inManagedObjectContext:context]; // If appropriate, configure the new managed object. [newManagedObject setValue:@"My Repeating String" forKey:@"evaluationTopic"]; // Save the context. NSError *error; if (![context save:&error]) { // Handle the error... } [self.tableView reloadData]; } This worked perfectly fine and by pushing the +button a new "My Repeating String" would be added to the table view and be in persistent store. I then pressed "Design - Add Model Version" in XCode. I added three entities to the existing entity and also added new properties to the existing "Evaluation" entity. Then, I created new files off the entities by pressing "File - New File - Managed Object Classes" and created a new .h and .m file for my four entities, including the "Evaluation" entity with Evaluation.h and Evaluation.m. Now I changed the model version by setting "Design - Data Model - Set Current Version". After having done all this, I changed my insertMethod: - (void)insertNewObject { // Create a new instance of the entity managed by the fetched results controller. NSManagedObjectContext *context = [fetchedResultsController managedObjectContext]; NSEntityDescription *entity = [[fetchedResultsController fetchRequest] entity]; Evaluation *evaluation = (Evaluation *) [NSEntityDescription insertNewObjectForEntityForName:[entity name] inManagedObjectContext:context]; // If appropriate, configure the new managed object. [evaluation setValue:@"My even new string" forKey:@"evaluationSpeechTopic"]; // Save the context. NSError *error; if (![context save:&error]) { // Handle the error... } [self.tableView reloadData]; } This does not work though! Every time I want to add a row the simulator crashes and I get the following: "NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'This NSPersistentStoreCoordinator has no persistent stores. It cannot perform a save operation.'" I had this error before I knew about creating new version after changing anything on the datamodel, but why is this still coming up? Do I need to do any mapping (even though I just added entities and properties that did not exist before?). In the Apple Dev tutorial it sounds very easy but I have been struggling with this for long time, never worked after changing model version.

I want to upgrade my 64-bit installation of XP to Windows 8 without losing the 32-bit installation. If I simply use the ISO to upgrade from within my XP 64-bit installation, will I retain dual boot for both XP 32-bit and Windows 8?

    Everytime I try to run a Enter-PSSession -ComputerName name, I am logged on to version 1.0 even tought 2.0 is installed.   • Can't uninstall trial version of Expression Blend 3, error writing to file Config.msi

    I can not remove a trial version of MS Expression Blend 3 from my pc. I am always getting the same error: "Error writing to C:\Config.msi\6e6288.rbf." The name of the file varies. On the error message window there are two buttons: "Retry" and "Cancel", but clicking on any of them gives the same result - uninstall is cancelled and everything is rolling back. I tried to change access permissions to that folder in many ways, but result all the same.

    I'm unable to find the directory listing of all PHP packages. I'm basically looking for the latest stable version of 5.3 utilizing some sort of script that will go out and check PHP's website. If I can get a directory listing (can't seem to find one), I can do the rest. Figured it out but seeing that someone else posted something similar but for Apache, he got blasted for puttig it on Stackoverflow. I figure I would save myself the trouble and post it here.

  • VMWare Workstation 8 reporting ""vmx86 driver version invalid handle" problem on booting VM

    I'm just doing a VMWare Workstation 8 installation. However, on trying to boot (or create) a VM, it's reporting "Could not get vmx86 driver version: The handle is invalid." It recommends reinstalling, which I've done. Also, VMWare Player just hangs. Was going to post on the VMWare forums, but can't seem to create a new discussion (even though I've registered/logged in). It's our own fault for being too eager to upgrade, I guess.

    On CentOS exists the yum versionlock option, where you can lock a package to a specific version, so it is never upgraded past that. I would like that puppet-server-2.7.19-1 puppet-2.7.19-1 stays on 2.7, and never upgraded to 3.0. Puppet Labs have released 3.0 and put it into the stable repo, so 2.7 will get upgraded to 3.0, which is not backwards compatible. Does Ubuntu have something similar to yum versionlock?

    Hi, On many occasions I have dealt with passing batch files arguments with spaces, quotes, percents, and slashes and all sorts of combinations of them. Usually I managed to figure out how to accomplish what I want, but this time I am stuck. I have tried a couple of hundred combinations now and my head is starting to hurt. I’ve reduced the problem quite nicely. It’s a simple requirement: pass a double-quoted space from one batch file to another. That is, one batch file should pass some string X to another so that the the second one echos " ". I just can’t figure out what X should be. Here is a minimal batch file that demonstrates and attempt that does not work. (This BAT file takes the place of both by calling itself.) ::Goal is to print: ::" " ::That is, to pass a quoted space from a BAT file to a BAT file if not (%1)==() goto recurse %0 "" "" :recurse echo %1 pause It does not work. I’ve tried using "\" \"", """ """, """" """", "\"" "\"", ""\" \""", "^" ^"", ^"" "^", and so on. So, I read a lot of documentation about it but each time, I get lost at the very beginning : I've downloaded the latest version of subversion. But on every tutorial, the way to follow is different. First I sae, on a lot of tuts, that you have to enter command lines. Is that ONLY for Linux ?
