    Hi, I want to observe multiple select menus and respond to their changes using prototype but only the first menu seems to be observed. This is my code: $('product_options').select('select').invoke("observe","change",optchange); If there are - for example - 3 selects within product_options then it only observes the first, i thought it might be because of invoke so i then tried this: $('product_options').select('select').each(function(sel){ $(sel).observe("change",optchange); }); Still doesnt work though, any ideas whats wrong?

  • SQL SERVER – SELECT INTO with FileGroup or Partitionis Not Possible

    The other day, I received an email from user and after a long time before I answer the question, I had to check the answer online. Here is the question - I want to create a new table based from old table, but when I execute following script it gives me an error. Is there anything I am missing in my syntax? SELECT *  INTO NewTableName ON MyFileGroup FROM MyOldTableName I faintly remember that this was not possible in earlier version of SQL Server but I was not sure if this feature was added in the recent versions or not. I quickly tried few syntaxes and referred online documentation and learned that it is still not possible in the latest version of SQL Server. The alternative is to just go ahead and change the default filegroup of any new table with following script. Though, I do not like change the default filegroup for new tables. It is possible that when I have changed the default filegroup some other code executes behind the scene by automated system or my colleague, it will be also created on new filegroup. ALTER DATABASE DatabaseName MODIFY FILEGROUP NameofFileGroup DEFAULT The reason this feature is not supported is that SELCT INTO is minimally logged operation. I seriously hope that some day in the future this feature get added in.   • Impossible to select folders and files with mouse (Ubuntu 12.04)

    First-time post for me here (after being a regular reader for two years though) so thank you all for the quality of replies and help provided. My problem is very simple apparently but a tricky one. I just installed the Ubuntu 12.04(1) along with the Gnome3-shell environment on my new pc desktop Acer Aspire X3995 (see config below). Everything work (more or less) so far (I still have problems of sound and disabled 2-fingers gestures with my screen -- which I will have to deal with xconfig settings I think -- though), but the main problem is that I cannot select files/folders with my USB mouse. When I try to double click on them, nothing happen (sometimes one folder or file is selected but then unselected again). Note that the navigation works perfectly from the USB keyboard and from the touch-screen (I am using a 23" wide touch-screen Acer Monitor T231Hbmid). Also, the mouse works perfectly with other menu navigation, with the only difference that the text of certain menus is selected as if I was holding the left click on them. So I assume the problem is only related to the mouse. Needless to say that the usual basic hardware checks have been performed (unplugging, powered-off, etc.). My level is simply "advanced user", meaning that if you provide me with intelligible input I should find my way, but please don't expect too much technical/specific knowledge... :) Please let me know if you need more information on this bug.   • Allowing client to select data to return via REST interface

    I have a rest service that is essentially a proxy to a variety of other services. So if I call GET /users/{id} It will get their user profile, as well as order history, and contact info, etc... all from various services, and aggregates them into one nice object. My problem is that each call to a different service has the potential to add time to the original request, so we would rather not get ALL the data ALL of the time if a particular client does not care about all of the pieces. A solution I have arrived at is to do something like this: GET /users/{id}?includeOrders=true&includeX=true&includeY=true... That works, and it allow me to do only what I need to, but it is cumbersome. We have added enough different data sources that there are too many parameters for that style to be useful. I could do something similar with a single integer and a bitmask or something, but that only makes it harder to read, and it does not feel very Restful. I could break it down into multiple calls so they would need to call /users/{id}/orders and /users/{id}/profile separately, but that sort of defeats the purpose of an aggregating proxy, who's purpose is to make clients jobs easier. Are there any good patterns that can help me return just enough data for each client, without making it too difficult for them to filter and select what they want?

  • Boot error aftter clean Ubuntu 13.04 install: [Reboot and select proper boot device]

    I am having the same problem as this guy where a fresh Ubuntu install completes beautifully but will not boot. I get the ASUS (?) "Reboot and select proper boot device" error, first with Xubuntu 13.10 and after finally giving up there, and Xubuntu 13.4, I am back to regular Ubuntu 13.4. ASUS motherboard Z77, Intel chipset. Standard internal SATA 500GB HD. 64-bit. All-new hardware less than 3 months old. It was running Ubuntu 12.04LTC great until I tried this upgrade. I have re-installed from scratch every which way: with LVM, without LVM; with the default partitions, with my own partitions. With ext3 or ext4. Alongside; replace; upgrade. No difference. On the last two tries, I have booted afterward from the same USB stick, downloaded and run boot-repair, and now I guess I am off to the boot-repair support email with my URLs from that. It did all kinds of cool stuff but ultimately made no difference. I never got anything like this with Ubuntu 12.04. I've now probably re-installed Ubuntu 13.04 ten times slightly different ways. I finally found how to skip the language packs, so at least that sped things up! :) This starts from the ubuntu-13.04-desktop-amd64.iso and UNetbootin as suggested on the official instructions for USB thumb drive creation from OSX. That part all works fine (booting the USB on the PC and trying Ubuntu and/or installing from there on the PC HD.) I have no CD drive on this PC, but I suppose I could get one. I would rather find some Linux install that works from USB like I've always done. After running boot-repair twice, in the ASUS BIOS I now see three different UEFI boot options in the priority list, and they are all labeled exactly the same: ubuntu (P6: WDC WD5000AAKX-00U6AA0) Then there's a non-UEFI option: P6: WDC WD5000AAKX-00U6AA0 (476940MB) And a fifth option appeared after the first boot-repair: Windows Boot Manager (P6: WDC WD5000AAKX-00U6AA0) I have tried all 5 of these, and I get exactly the same error. I have never had Windows installed on this HD. ASUS is calling it Windows Boot Manaer but I presume that's a mistaken label for whatever boot-repair did. I can boot on USB and run GParted and it looks great. The partitions all look normal. I found another case of this online with no solution posted. I can't find much about it online. Needs a Master Boot Record wipe/redo?? I'm not sure how.

    We are moving a production site to EC2/RDS Followed these instructions: http://geehwan.posterous.com/moving-a-production-mysql-database-to-amazon I have set up row-based binary logging on the production server did a: mysqldump --single-transaction --master-data=2 -C -q -u root -p backup.sql then imported to RDS instance. No dramas. Due to the size of the db, and minimal downtime requirements, I've got to update the ec2 db to the latest datas via the binlogs, and it won't let me. mysqlbinlog mysql-bin.000004 --start-position=360812488 | mysql -uroot -p -h and it says: ERROR 1227 (42000) at line 6: Access denied; you need (at least one of) the SUPER privilege(s) for this operation My guess, based on what is on line 6 of the binlog, is that it's the 'write to the BINLOG' statements in the SQL backup, and because RDS doesn't support this, it can't run these statements, or something, I don't really know. Please help.

Zend Programmer's Reference Guide has only some code snippets, which are not enough for me. Basically, I don't know how incorporate Zend_ProgressBar with some action in a controller and associated views. Does anyone know of the simples example or tutorial of zend application that uses Zend_ProgressBar? Many thanks

    I was not able to start the SQL Server 2008 R2 production DB instance. After reading the log file error message is " The log scan number passed to log scan in database ‘master’ is not valid. This error may indicate data corruption or that the log file (.ldf) does not match the data file (.mdf). If this error occurred during replication, re-create the publication." After reading several post i realize that my MASTER DB file is corrupted. I have followed the below setup Copy the Master.mdf and Masterlog.ldf file from Template location to My Database Data folder. C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Binn\Templates to D:\MSSQL\MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\DATA Note: Same error occur when i copy the all DB file like Master, MasterLog, MSDBData, MSDBlog, Model and ModelLog When i run my MSSQLSEVER instance different problem occur. In My server i had only C, D- Drive i dont have the E drive. How can i override these below error path. Now, as a hobby project, I'm undertaking to write an actual app, which will be a database app using System.Data.SQLite and C#. I have the db's table structure planned. I have System.Data.SQLite installed and connected to VS Pro. I entered my tables and columns in VS, but that's where I'm stuck. I really don't know how to finish the db set up so I can start creating queries and testing the db structure. Can someone give me guidance to online resources that will help me learn how to get the db properly set up so I can proceed with testing it? I'm hoping for online resources specific to beginners using C# and System.Data.SQLite, but I'll use the closest I can get. Thanks.

    We have a cyrus 2.4.12 on Debian, we use packages, rather than building each software ourselves. I am getting the this "log" constantly, a lot of, various users, and 8-10 times per user request: fetching user_deny.db entry for 'user123' I have searched for it, but haven't found a real solution, there were some patches for 2.3.xx, but we don't want ot build it, we prefer to use packages. Is there any solution to disable the user_deny.db at all. We don't need this feature. It wastes the CPU as disk.

I'm assuming that the parameters are enumerated (starting at zero), for each "new" Select query. However, in this case where the two Select queries are nested, I would have expected the output to have two parameters named @0 and @1. My query is based on one that Rob Conery gave on his blog as a preview of the "Pakala" query tool that became Subsonic 3. His example was: int records = new Select(Northwind.Product.Schema) .Where("productid") .In( new Select("productid").From(Northwind.Product.Schema) .Where("categoryid").IsEqualTo(5) ) .GetRecordCount(); Has anyone else seen this behavior? Is it a bug, or is this an error or my part? Since I'm new to Subsonic I'm guessing that this probably programmer error on my part but I'd like confirmation if possible.

    I work with a team that has a sharepoint site currently runnning and its lists are linked to an access DB. My question is really on the investment level, what would be the reasons to upgrade DB to sharepoint if only a few 100 users access this site. Is there a real benefit to replacing the DB with a version of SQL Server, escpecially if about to replace Access 2002 with 2007 some day. I know SQL Server can handle more memory and traffic for more users, but I'm looking for more reasons than that if there are any.

    I am doing a project in Delphi6 which enables the user to update the table in SQL server database ; if there is any changes in the table of Paradox DB. An update button has been created and whenever the user clicks it, all the changes made in the paradox db table have to be updated in the SQL server table. Only if there is any changes the table need to be updated else ; it should close automatically. For that I have created a table, "Schedule" ,both in Paradox DB and SQL server. But I am stuck with this Paradox DB thing. Which component can I drop in the form for connecting the table in Paradox DB ? For SQL server I used ado table component. For this Paradox also can I use that ? I am not a regular programmer so I am not well versed this Delphi6 also. So I am seeking a help for this. Can anybody give me an example coding also ?
