  • AWS ECS API - ItemLookup - Get item's (EAN) SalesRank by BrowseNode

    I'm using amazon japan, using ItemLookup. We already have the EAN numbers (used as ItemId). It was working well until we need to modify the SalesRank. The previous SalesRank returned is for the whole SearchIndex, ex: Books, Music, etc. What we want is to get the SalesRank for a specific BrowseNode. I don't know but it seems that it is not implemented on Amazon US. For example: http: // www . amazon . com / Slackware-Essentials-Cantrell-Johnson-Lumens/dp/1571763384/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1276142663&sr=1-1 The book above only shows the SalesRank (Bestsellers Rank) but on Japan Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.jp/Slackware-Linux-Dummies/dp/0764506897/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=english-books&qid=1276142708&sr=1-4 It shows SalesRank for other three different BrowseNodes. We need to get the SalesRank for a specific BrowseNode for a given ItemId or by any other means. Any ideas guys? TIA

    I understand how to use REST for doing general entity interactions - using urls names to map to entities and the HTTP verbs to map to actions on those entities. But what is the generally accepted way of looking at "actions" more like RPC? For example, let's say I want to send a command for the device to reset? There's no real "entity" here or do I do something like POST to http://mydevice/device/reset?

Now that I want to compress the CSS files I'm looking for a compression tool that supports that. I cannot change the original files not to use includes because those are centrally developed ones.

  • html5media library doesn't work on FF 3.6.3

    Hi. Am I the only one experiencing this issue? I'm using the html5media library and the test page they provide no longer plays in Firefox 3.6.3, though it plays on the latest Safari, Chrome, Opera, and IE. On FF 3.6.3, it shows the video and the audio with large X through them. I'm using this library on my site and noticed the issue as well. I'm not seeing any errors in the error console.

  • Magento - how to create different prices for different sizes of a products?

    Hi, I am trying to set different prices for different sizes of a few products I have in my store. I am not really sure how to do that propely. The problem is that I already have the regular size defined as a simple product. Now, I want to add a smaller size as well, that can be chosen from the same product page, and I need to set the weight of the smaller size, so postage is calculated properly. Any suggestions?     I have code which is trivial but only works in IE not Firefox. $(document).ready(function(){ $('li#first').click(); }); I have also tried: document.getElementById('first').click(); But that doesn't work either. Is this an IE bug/feature or is click() not supported in the other browsers? Thanks in advance.

  • Handling "other" option in dropdown select with free text input field

    Hi, I'm trying to figure out the best way to handle a dropdown list where one of the options "other" shows a hidden text field (via jQuery), where the user can then enter text. Should both the dropdown and the input field be given the same "name" attribute, then server side code runs a check on the values of each in order to know what one is the active value - e.g if the value of the select box is "other", then check the value of the text input field - if this isn't the default value ("enter text"), then it's ok to use this value and save it to the database. Is this a messy approach to this problem?

  • Using PHP's exec() function (or the likes), how can you display terminal error output?

    Previous Reference I am just wondering if there's a way (using PHP) to output the compile error information from the terminal to the browser? For example: If you use this code to execute in the terminal... gcc -o try try.c ...and assuming the "try.c" have some errors. The terminal will output something like this: try.c In function 'main': try.c:27 'x' undeclared (first use in this function) try.c:27 (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once try.c:27 for each function it appears in.) Meanwhile, using this PHP code... <?php exec("gcc -o try try.c"); ?> The browser does not return any output like the terminal does. Is there a possible way direct or indirect that the error details that the terminal showed can be passed to the be displayed on a browser? Thank you very much.

    Does anyone see server-side JavaScript taking off? There are a couple of implementations out there, but it all seems to be a bit of a stretch (as in, "doing it BECAUSE WE CAN" type of attitude). I'm curious to know if anyone actually writes JavaScript for the server-side and what their experiences with it have been to date. Also, which implementation is generally seen as the most stable?

  • Looking for an approach to program a mobile website for any device. Are there any?

    My wish is to know how I can program a mobile website, that fit to all mobile phones. Are there any special approaches to recognize a device and render the code according to it? Which tools and coding languages are required? My first thought was to hold the website in XML, which would be parsed depending on the device. You have to consider old phones, even devices with only wap support. For example: The mobile website has to recognize Nokia N75 and render/send the code that looks optimal for this device. Same thing with an iPhone or a Motorola Razr.

Right now there are three of us working on a "Dev" version of the project that all have our Eclipse linked to it with just an external folder, and thus no version control. What is the right way, and what is the best way, to version control this (not necessarily the same I dont think) We have a SVN set up but just need to find a good way to check in and check out that lets us test on the dev server. I can point out why it is really bad: Inextricable tie between server code and client code. Can render client code un-reusable. But sometimes, it just seems to make sense. And isn't it kinda sorta interesting? I guess the question is, is writing server code that produces JavaScript code a really bad practice, or "does everyone do it"?
