    hi all, in the case of an IM client. i have made 2 separate threads to handle sending packets (by std io) and receiving packets. the question is how to make these 2 threads run simultaneously so that i can keep prompting for input while at the same time be ready to receive packets at any time? i have already tried setting a timer but the data is always lost receiving.

It would make sense because functions like string::replace or string::insert take iterators as input, so you could find some character and immediately pass the returned iterator to replace, etc. Also, std::find returns an iterator -- why is std::string::find different?

Could someone help me find a function which will return a FILE* and use the Windows specific version of mkdir in order to create the folder structure for fopen to never fail to open a new file in the specified location because one of the folders does not exist.     I am having a problem figuring how to check a string for the same characters in a row then count that same character in a row then printing it out then giving the location of the last occorance of that character count then printing it out then moving to the next character in the string that is different then the previous character and the program is case sensitive. So the input could be: aaaaAAAbbbddccc How would I compress this string to: a4A3b3d2c3 ? and then decompress it?

A view that allows you to input integers (and only integers) that you can limit (between 1 and 10 for example), where you can use the keyboard or the arrows in the view itself. Does it exists? It is for a dialog. A ready-made dialog to request an integer would also help.

    Hi I need to know if there's any way of making all controls of a column the same width, and that all these controls are as wide as the cells that contain them. I added a demo on JSFiddle with the controls I'm using. I tried using size for the input texts and style="width:" for the selects , and even though I managed to make them the same width,(it doesn't seem to work in Chrome) it's kinda difficult , that's why I'd like to know if there is any more straightforward way to do the same thing Any ideas or insights?

    How does PHP read if statements? I have the following if statements in this order if ( $number_of_figures_in_email < 6) { -- cut: gives false } if($number_of_emails > 0) { -- cut: gives false } if ( $number_of_emails == 0) { -- cut: gives true } The code behaves randomly. It sometimes goes to the third if clause and gives me a success, while sometimes to the one of the first two if clauses when the input variables are constant. This suggests me that I cannot code only with if statements.
